Stock Recovery - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
I just flashed my recovery with the CWM recovery image, but I noticed that I need the Stock Recovery to install the OTA update; is there a place where I can download it?
Thnks in advance

Why do you need the ota anyways? You can restore using rsd lite.

There's file called "recovery_signed" inside zip archive of full RSD-aimed firmware. That is stock recovery which should be flashed as follows:
moto-fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed

'coz for some reason the hdmi output doesn't work with any other JB firmware, so I downgraded and now i'll update it.

Yes! today i need to install CWM Recovery Image first, and after install the Rogue with .zip file. I`d like to run Rogue Recovery as .img file to install it first, without CWM Recovery first. Its possible?
Thanks
Open the zip file and take the .img file out and flash it.

6.0.1 works for everything for this device.
you can try this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837605
download Attached Files, unzip it, rename and remove .md5, extract img file from tar, put img on sdcrad
choose img file path on "Custom",Flash!
ok i went in the app and hit the custom button then selected cwm 6.0.1 and flash it said flash complete so i rooted into recovery and it's the stock one not the custom one? i did this process two times and still getting the stock one?

If you are trying to flash 6.01.0 then select the "Recovery", then select CWM 6.0.1.0 and then flash. You don't need to select custom unless you are trying to flash something else.

[Q] Multiple Recoveries?

I currently have a stock, rooted, unlocked SGS3 with CWM Ver 6.0.1.2. I also have EZ Recovery installed. I'm curious about TWRP, can I install it and have multiple recoveries or are the recoveries a one at a time deal?
Thanks
There one at a time. Just flash one and test it out. Don't like it, flash another. Currently I'm enjoying CWM.

You can flash whatever recovery you want with either rom manager or ez recovery. I like the touch version of cwm recovery.
Also if you have a custom recovery you cannot receive OTA updates

If I flash TWRP, will it overwrite my current CWM? Or do I need to remove it first? Also, could I flash it from within CWM or would that break something?
Thanks

No, you can install CWM using Rom manager. You can install TWRP using GooManager (tap Menu, then install Openscriptrecovery) You can also install either through EZ Recovery if you have the img file.

You might want to update your cwm.

Revert to stock atnt 2.20 after installing cm10

Hi guys,
So I unlocked my boot loader and using twrp installed cm10. To boot it I had to flash boot.IMG from the zip file and everything works fine
Now I wanna revert to the stock ROM. I made a backup of it using twrp. So when I wipe off the cm10 rom using twrp n restore my stock backed up ROM, my phone doesn't boot. Just a blank screen.
Anything I need to do different?

You have to flash the boot.img from the sence rom
Thanks a lot for ur help. I don't know where to get the boot.IMG of the sense ROM. Any directions as to where can I find it?
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
Extract it from the nandroid backup
These r the files in the twrp folder for my Stock ROM. Can't see a boot.IMG
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
sorry maybe twrp doesn't backup boot.img
You can download a 2.20 ruu and try an extract boot.img from there.
boot.emmc.win is the boot.img, not sure how TWRP handles backing up of boot when on the higher hboot though.

The very 1st file "boot.emmc.win" that's the boot.img
So just flash that through fastboot and it should work
You can change the name of the file to boot.img if you want
And if we want to revert to an RUU, we just lock the bootloader and run the exe
Or do we need to flash the stock recovery first?
Cheers
Yes, lock bootloader flash ruu.

[Q] Verizon galaxy s III SCH-1535 just rooted recoveries no data

Verizon Galaxy S III SCH 1535 rooted with casual. Got root access but any custom recovery will not identify OS or any data. Even flashed back to 4.0.4. stock and and stock recovery will not work. I think partitions are different now or got changed some how. I have flash 4.1.1 stock image and got stock recovery back but Twrp or CMW will not work. First time I ever had this issue.

Yes several times. Used ez unlock 1.2 & 1.4 flashing all versions of twrp and cwm.
Flash stock ROOTED ROM through Odin. Use EzUnlock 1.2 (1.3-1.4 is broken). Use GooManager to flash TWRP. Done! Fool-proof.

I need to find stock rooted tar.md5 file as suggested above. I never had so much trouble just trying to get recovery to work. This is a new phone from Asurince. The partitions must be different. I'm not sure what the problem is.

File u need is in the 4th post. Follow the guide. You don't need to Reset flash counter if you are just gonna flash a ROM or custom recovery again

I just don't under stand why this new phone is giving me so much difficulty. I have another GS3 bought back in 2012 and no troubles at all, running Hyperdrive 16 rom works great. I've been trying to get this phone to work for about a week now. I'm not one to give up so easly, but I'm about to turn it in for warrenty. Sorry my spelling sucks. I hate being beat by software. There has to be a way.

Ok good material but a little confusing. So I need to use chome to be able to down load pit file and flash it with oden with reboot, F timer & repartion checked. Than reflash stock rom. Is this correct or I need to do something else?
