Does it mean we can have zoe? - HTC Butterfly

One X will get blinkfeed and zoe soon. So we can have zoe. Isn't zoe hardware thing?

Zoe is a software feature that is just like making a GIF

yes. it's basically 20-frames in a burst shot and a 3-second video. cramped in an mp4 format if I remember correctly.
well, we all do hope we will get the Zoe. Sense 5 ain't Sense 5 without it.

[Q]Simultaneous recordind and video stabilization after sense 4.0?

As the title above,
I'm concerning about wheather the simultaneous HD video and image recording and video stabilization that mention in the latest HTC's device,HTC One X wiill come with sense 4.0 or not.
Under the Htc One S specification, there is video stabilization features under camera section.
So the main thing that make me concern is about does the features comes from sense 4.0??Or the feature only apply on Htc One series??
If is very annoying that you are capturing your fun moment with shaky condition.
I could have all this mixed up but, the HTC One series have HTC's new Imagechip technology. So unless the camera stabilizing thing is just some software, I dont think it will be a Sense 4.0 feature.
But then again, I could be completely wrong.

[Q] sense 4.0 camera pics noisier than sense 3.6

This is not meant to be a comparison - rather just an observation. I find photos taken with the Sense 3.6 ROM(ARHD 6.6.4) to be lot less noisier than the Sense 4.0 ROM(ORDROID 7.1.1). I think the cameras on both are the same.
Does anyone else see this?
Any idea why this could be?

The pics in 3.6 arent compressed thanks to the camera mod, while 4.0 is? I know its included in ordroid but its a dif version
Sent from my sensational sensation 4g
I don't believe its a compression thing, I had noticed the same thing as well. Even in bright light Sense 4 rom pics contain a lot of noise. Could be because of what sensor the camera app is expecting. The One S sensor is completely different than what we have on the Sensation. I am curious however if the pics in Sense 4 are just as grainy with a market app instead of the HTC app. Might give it a whirl tonight and see.

see the same issue with fast burst camera but i guess that's not the best app to judge this on.
can you recommend any good apps - don't want to rely on reviews on tech websites.
Actually I don't know if its just me, but it seems the camera pics on Sense 4 Roms are much improved now? This past weekend I ran one of the latest Sense 4 Roms which are off the new base and I didn't see any extra noise in daylight pics and indoor pics seemed to be on par with a Sense 3.6 Rom. Anyone notice camera pics being improved now in the new base in Sense 4?

I think you're right Gustav, I was noticing the same thing looking at my pics today. I think it was the One S rom's camera app that was producing the noisy pictures, whereas with the new Ville C2 base we've got much better picture quality!
Idk i find it that on the sense 4.0 roms it focus much much better and colors looks better on sense 3.6 taking a picture makes me want to burn my phone lol.. it comes out so washed out
Sent From My Sexy Sensation.
Observed the same thing. Pictures are much better now.
ROM maturity i guess.
I feel like HTC cranks up the contrast ratio more on the Sense 4.0 cameras. If you apply contrast to noise, it'll look more obvious. I love how the 4.0 cams focus and the speed at which they take pictures, but i wish the picture could look perhaps a little more realistic instead of instagram like.

No. This is probably the 10th thread making this suggestion.
To be honest, it is a very tedious task that will require recoding of the Camera app.
I doubt that anyone would put in all that time.
Here is my post in the Ordroid thread today about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27268163#post27268163
In short, I actually think the Sense 4 camera is on par now in terms of image quality with the Sense 3.6 camera now that the Sense 4 roms are on the newest Ville base. In my post above you can grab a media profiles file (its not a flashable zip) that helps with image compression and a tip on an app I use to help with noise related issues with indoor pics and low light shots.

Camera mod for cm9

Someone knows if there's a camera mod for 1080p recorder but for cm9 rom? and also what is the best camera.apk that make fullscreen photos?
You might want to take a look in the mods and in Sensation development. I know I've seen a camera mod in there. As for compatibility I'm not sure but I think it is compatible. I'm not sure of the name but I know yesterday I saw it I'm there. Sorry I can't give a ďirect link but if you search I'm sure you will find ît! Hope this helps out. There is also a app in the play store that takes panorama pics. Look up panorama pics and you will find it. It takes lovely full screen panarama pics
Best wishes.

be great if there was a nodo-gt camera mod
No, the mod it's only for sense rom, and I was looking for a camera apk not for panoramas photo but for wide screen photos and 1080p camcorder

if you want better quality pics, download OpenSensation and extract zip. pull the Camera apk from /system/app and install it on CM9. youll have the resolutions from Sense, but the camera UI will still be the same
*edit* here, try this file attached at the bottom
Video are only 720p also with that camera apk, there isn't a camera (also with a different ui) with 1080p option?

hit the "edit" button next time...itll save space for all the un-needed extra posts. I dont think there is a camera mod for CM9 based roms. Virtuous Inq. is Sense based, but essentially de-Sensed and AOSP added (hence the Sense cam in the ROM) taking the Camera apk from that ROM wouldnt work on CM9. You can use another camera app to change the UI tho, I prefer Ucam (close to Sense)

[Q] Change Camera & Beats Audio after flashed custom ROM?

Sorry for my noobness... but I flashed the paranoid ROM for my one S, the ROM is awesome except I don't like the new camera UI(It has a solid bar that takes up 1/4 of the screen, just for the shot button...), and I don't know if its possible to change this?
Another thing is how am I able to get beats Audio after custom ROM?
thanks in advance!
Paranoid is based of CM10/9 (main point is its stock android) so you will not be able to use the sense camera as it requires the sense framework. Basically, the camera requires HTC's proprietary camera drivers that are only available in sense-based roms like viper. Unless some magical developer with amazing skills comes along, it will never be possible. Now for beats, i have a solution and its called Awesomebeats.
link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728391
i personally don't like it as i prefer a flat sound without any EQ changes but whatever, to each there own.
Hope i helped
Thanks! that helps a lot!
so if im not mistaken, it means that basically all the stock CM9/10's camera UI has that huge bar taking over the screen, and resulting smaller pictures?
what if I install some third party camera software and use those instead, do I get the same basic performance(pic quality) from my camera?
Didn't virtuous team achieve something like this over in the sensation boards? Basicly a real senseless Rom that kept the camera but replaced basicly everything else with aosp stuff all within the HTC framework? That would be really interesting if someone can achieve that for us since we all love aosp but want to keep the camera

Yes and no. Im going to assume that when you took your pictures on sense, you left the widescreen setting, meaning the pictures you took with the sense camera are actually smaller. When left in widescreen, they cropped from the top and bottom resulting in a 6 MP widescreen shot. The AOSP camera takes the full 8 MP. Dont be fooled by the aspect ratio

Yea but too bad the quality ain't the same, google should really consider better cameras for stock I mean that's all a nexus device really lacks anyways

This is really one of the biggest drivers for people sticking with sense-based ROMs over AOSP and/or AOKP-based ROMs.
So, if you want the stock camera - look at the sense-based ROMs on the forum.

well i did extensive tests, both low and well lit situations, quality is the same. As a matter of fact, maybe even slightly better on AOSP. There is less compression, and can be seen when zoomed in. The only difference between the AOSP camera and Sense is the speed and functionality. And if youre using a Nexus, the speed of the camera is insanely fast. Look up videos on youtube, the nexus has a good camera.
Change to the viperone s Rom its great and you keep the camera from the original Rom
