Anyone know of a app that will copy photos as they are taken on the phone to a second folder as a backup? I know there are a couple of apps that will sync things out to a cloud but I am wanting to monitor the usage on a few phones without paying a service. I already found a way to backup the text messages quietly but nothing I have found will back up the photo's. Anything that syncs will not help me if they delete things. I want to know what was done on the phone even if it was deleted and recovery apps are hit or miss pulling deleted data after a week or two if the phone is used a lot. Or if there is a free monitoring app that is hidden well or even a recylce bin type app that you can hide. I tried dumpster or recycle bin for android but once you hide those apps with something like audio manager they dont function while hidden. The phones in question are LG mytouch phones running android 2.3.6 and are rooted so that isnt a issue.
I am still trying to figure this out. Anyone?

First want to say hi. I want to backup my evo since im replacing it with a newer evo since there is a problem with mine its hardware problem. but any way is there a way i can completly take everything from my current phone to new one Apps photos settings launcher pro(paid)im getting the phone tom they called todayso plz help me out plz try and keep it simple if possible
First you should be aware that all of your paid apps are permanently tied to the Google account that you used / created when you first set up the phone. This means that as long as you use the same credentials when setting up the new EVO you will find all off your purchased apps waiting for you in the market.
Second know that most of your personal data is stored on the SD card as opposed to the phone memory itself. If you reuse the same card you will likely find your data is waiting code you without using a backup restore utility.
Despite the above I am a fervent devotee to backing up and use several apps in tandem. I you only have one I think Titanium Backup is the way to go. My Backup Pro another alternative. These will backup and restore all of your apps with data so it is like you never lost a beat. They will even restore desktop layout and call logs or text messages.
My last advice is to get the free app called dropbox. T give you 2 gigs of online storage which get linked to a special folder on your phone. Put a file in the folder and it will get uploaded into your web vault. From there you can access the files from your PC as well.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out on this, some of you guys know the ins and outs of linux and Android, unfortunately for me my knowledge on OSs stops short at windows.
I have gone from a Nexus One running Gingerbread(never rooted) to a Nexus S.
The builds are the same, some other things are different such as the kernel etc but I wont list them as ofc I do not want to copy over system files.
I am after app data, all the nontemp noncached info my many apps save for reference everytime its launched so it remembers my settings, I want my phone to be close to how it was without me having to play spot the difference with all the interface menus. I am hoping there is an Appdata equiv in linux?
Most apps save their data in /data/data/...
Did you already look at "Titanium Backup" ? It is really good, though i don't know if it is gingerbread compatible yet.
I second titanium. It's working fine on GB for me, at least on CM7.
My root attempt failed.
Anyway I trying to get my phone back up and running. I have the stock setting back and attempting to restore from mybackup pro. When it goes to restore it displays each app saying, can not restore apk files because of the phone setting and can not restore app that are not from the market.
Well all my apps are from the market so any idea what to do next? It shows my backup file it just doesn't load it because of my setting which I can not change. My file shows all my apps as a apk file.

It's not going to restore apps like that unless you're rooted and have sideloading capability.
If the phone is telling you it can't restore apps that aren't from the market, and all of your apps are from the market, then there isn't a problem, in itself...
It's where those market apps are at when you're trying to restore them that's the problem. Even though you originally got them from the market, mybackup is trying to pull them from your SD card. Unless you're rooted with sideloading, the phone considers any .apk that isn't directly installed from the market to be an "unknown source," and blocks it.
If you previously chose to have the phone backup your apps and settings via Google, market would reinstall the apps for you. If not, you're going to have to manually redownload them from the market, based on the list you can see in mybackup/from what you remember you had installed.

Just great, here goes hours of fun!!!! Now I am determine to root.
Thanks
Just thinking I do have the side loader wonder machine and have installed apk files (swype) using it. Can I go into my SD card some how and grab the files that way. I am needing some of the data that I have in some of my apps.
For example, I use the "keeper" to store my personal info and account numbers. I need to retrieve this info along with a few others!!!

Well, I'm not familiar with that app, but it depends on how it stores it's data.
If it has some kind of mechanism for storing your data remotely, like on some server or something, and would auto sync your data in a similar fashion to how Google does it with contacts, then that would work.
If it had some kind of export function to put your stuff in a separate file that you could retrieve later...
Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you, because if it wasn't one of the above two scenarios, chances are the app stores your data in a private database, in a special area of the phone that is inaccessible to any other app on an unrooted phone.
If this is the case, though it appeared mybackup was doing what you wanted it to, it wasn't doing EXACTLY what you wanted it to... It was backing up the apps themselves, the .apks, but not the data that corresponds to them.
It's confusing and a bit misleading for someone new to all of this Android customization stuff.... I got burned the same way the first time I rooted.
You kind of have to root before you start initially filling your phone with data. Once you root though, you CAN use mybackup pro to backup apps + data. I own the app myself. It's capable of doing it, it just needs root access first.
Hope you get it worked out...

No problem.
Nothing beats a good old text file on the computer with your passwords as a backup. (In a password protected zip file or something).

Hello everyone,
So I'm hoping someone can figure out what I did, cause my phone is now half of what it used to be. I have the latest update (G900PVPU3BOF6) on the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5, and I rooted it 3 days ago the day after it's birthday (didn't want to trip Knox before the warranty was up!).
I didn't notice it at first, but then I realized that things were not working right on my phone. I haven't done really anything with my root except remove a couple of stock apps I didn't want (that should have been safe to, like Flipboard). Basically, unless it's a system app (ie. Google Play, Facebook, Camera, etc.) the app cannot save or access the internal memory or external SD card... Fallout Shelter stopped working completely, SMS Backup and Restore won't backup anywhere, Amazon Appstore won't update and immediately fails, Glitchr crashes when I try to save images... it's obvious that some form of permissions to the file system got seriously mucked up. But I'm not sure what to do to fix the issue.
I am open to doing a stock restore, but ONLY after I get a backup on my SMS and if it's a last resort.
Anyone have any suggestions, or even come across this before?
Thank you all in advance!
Download My Backup Root from Play, backup your Data(SMS, MMS, Contacts, logs etc. ) Then do a Factory reset.
Either your permissions are Borked or the owner to the files is incorrect. Did you use titanium backup or any other app to restore your data?

Hi everyone,
Two days ago, accidentally I managed to delete all the photos of my camera album on my S6 Edge (SM-G925F).
I long tapped the album in gallery, just as i would have done with a photo then clicked delete.
It seemed to take too long, so I clicked cancel. But it was too late. All was gone.
I have well, most of them backed up but still missing quite a few.
So far I tried to recover using the following apps:
Dr. Fone (both on the device itself and from computer).
UltData for Android (from laptop),
Dumpster Recover (on the phone),
DiskDigger (on phone)
But all they show me is photos that are still available on the device, or are in some app cache. ( Profile pics of people on Facebook, etc...)
Note: I tried all these methods both before and after rooting the device. (I read somewhere that rooting might help, but I simply get more crap...)
The device is running Android 7.0 (the latest update from Samsung.)
Has anyone managed to recover lost photos from an S6 so far?
What apps would you recommend?
Why can I not see those pics anywhere?
Does samsung have some special way to erase your storage if u delete your photos?
I cannot seem to find many search results about it, probably not many people use this device anymore
Thanks in advance for any help,
Agoston
Probably no longer recoverable after DrFone.
Pay the fee and get what it can recover.
It encrypts its results (using up more drive space) and presumably makes the original data inaccessible to other recovery apps.
Recovered jpegs files will be disassociated from their exif files though; no timestamps, original #, shooting or location data.
The only way to reliably prevent data loss is to redundantly back it up before it happens, unfortunately.
I did pay the fee, but it cannot find them either...
In the main window it showed 1090 photos, on the side it showed it found 10 000, but at recovery it got stuck at around 5000....

None were backed up anywhere?
It may take a long time to retrieve them and not actually be hanging... be careful!!!
Make sure it has all needed permissions.
No clue how to use that app. Try their support and Google search to try to find out what's going on.
Don't mess with that app or anything on the phone or you may lose what it found completely.
Normally I say clear app data and the system cache but NOT in this case!

Most of them is backed up just the ones in the last few months aren't.
It turned out during a chat with their support not long ago, that my phone is not supported by their app, and i will get a refund from them.
But the question stands...Is there any app out there that supports the recovery from an SM-G925F?
I didnt seem to find any, but I hope someone knows one
