picture txt problem - LG Optimus 3D

Upgraded to official using update tool with at but after that I notice past weeks I can't receive picture texts....any help
Sent from my LG-P925

Request for the APN from the CSR at your phone carrier or even look up for your carrier. I think there's APN tool on Play Store for some carriers.
Picture text you meant is MMS, and it uses separate Internet socket, thus the need for correct APN for MMS texting.

Noo,why does need this? If my provider does not suport my dwvice there is asolution?

I have been having problems with my mms since I first received my Nexus. MMS take 3 days to send and downloading mms gets stuck at downloading and never opens. I did some research and from what I understand it has something to do with your APN settings, try searching for the correct APN settings for your area and provider. APN settings can be found in ---> SETTINGS>WIRELESS&NETWORKS>MOBILE NETWORKS>
ACCESS POINT NAMES
** I have yet to fix my MMS issues, if you find something I would love to know

Yea, I don't know if re-flashing the ROM would be of any use. Some people argue that MMS only work if you have a data plan with your provider, but I've read otherwise as well. I've also heard of Nexus users getting more up-to-date sim cards and that fixed their issues, maybe worth a try? You might want to give your provider a call and ask them for the correct APN settings or at least explain your problem to them and see if they offer any assistance.

unlocked sidekick 4G texting problem (messaging center)

Hello everyone,
First of all, I have a sidekick 4G that I unlocked through a unlock code website. And the sidekick is running on AT&T with Edge and talk (receive and send) working flawlessly.
The only problem I have is that I can receive text messages, but cannot send any.
So I went ahead and called Samsung and they suggested that the problem was my messaging center number, so I followed their directions and did this ,MESSAGING->MENU BUTTON->SETTINGS and scrolled down to messaging center only to find it greyed out.
I have the latest update and did a factory reset and what not.
My question is how do I set the messaging center number from the one Tmobile set to AT&T 's messaging center number?
Please help! I don't want to have a unlocked phone that cannot send text messages!

Call AT&T and ask. Or ask a friend that has an Android. The number should be the same. If you can't get it to work then you can always download an app that gives you a number for texting, i.e. Google Voice, textfree, etc.
Look in the settings of your previously used phone you had for AT&T. The number should be there. If not, ask a friend. If not, then you can call AT&T. I believe numbers differ according to region, based on a quick Google search.
I have the number, its just that the field where I enter the number is greyed out, meaning I can't configure it. Are all sidekicks like that?

Go to settings wireless n networks mobile networks Then access point names then click on tmobiles apn and edit it or add ur own apn the best is to copy it from another android on att u can just go to the store and copy it from there floor modles the line for the texting is the mmsc line

Ok, so I just got it, and I tried it, with sending messages still not working. I called att and I asked them what was the problem, and they suggested that my sim card might not be working correctly, so I got a brand new sim card and surely enough, texting worked!!

[Q] how to send picture text messages with cyanogenmod

Hi, like the title says is there a way to send picture text messages and receive them on cyanogenmod? because of this issue i have been using miui
I never had this problem but try GoSMS
You need to set your settings right in apn. I send/receive fine.

Also remember you have to have back ground data turned on for it to work
Mobil's data must be on to send and receive picture text. Wont work with wi-fi only for some reason texting need mobile data to send pics.
Absolution also way better version of CM7 is my opinion. But to each their own flavor.

Its because mms use 1kb of data to send the info. Still. Not sure why CM roms don't work like OEM based when disabling data but forces it back on for MMS. Just always been that way.

[Q] No MMS after rooting

Hi all -
I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727 and I have just rooted last night. This morning, I am unable to receive MMS picture as I usually can from my girlfriend, who is an iphone user. If I send an MMS pictures to myself, it works fine. I read somewhere you have to reset your APN settings, which I've done but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. I've also rebooted a few times. I should tell you that I have backed-up and uninstalled the stock messaging app, since I use Go SMS exclusively. I tried to restore it but was unable to. Could this be the problem or do I need to make more changes to my APN settings?
Thanks in advance
If you search for skyrocket APN's you should get an idea of the settings (PTA is the only one I use)
If you long press the message, does it let you see the attachment/recognize the message as a mms?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
na
it just shows the text - no mms. I got one successfully from my brother (who's on an android), so i'm waiting to see if I can get one from the iphone
take a look at GO SMS in the market and what it supports; it may not support MMS. A lot of apps don't process MMS texts just fyi.
So message details only recognizes it as a SMS, but only when sent from an iPhone? Can you have them turn off imessage? I'm going to guess that's part of the issue

Just thought id mention this, my mom, dad and sister all have iphones and tried sending me MMSs yesterday, did not work just continuously say downloading.
however i called my mom and while on the phone she sent me the mms again, i checked it while on the phone and it successfully downloaded.
could it have been a fluke? or is there something that changed while i was on the phone?
I had constant moms problems with family/clients using iPhones with imessage enabled
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
If you turn off DATA or momentarily don't have data on; MMS will stick at "downloading...."
you have to disable "Auto Retrive" in Messaging settings then attempt to download the MMS again.
hm if android receives android, I bother it is the problem of your phone.
What you should do is a simple delete and install from the market, to start again.
If nothing changes, I should throw you girlfriends iPhone in a lake and take care she will get an SGS2
Any solution?
Hi all,
Has there been any sign of a solution for this issue yet? I just rooted my GS2 LTE and can not seem to send or receive MMS to anyone at all. I do not want to download any other aps to do it for me, I just want to figure this out. I've also read a lot about changing APNs, any ideas on that?
Thanks in advance.
Guys how can you expect any help if you don't include a carrier in your post?
I know that for rogers when I flash a new rom I have about 4-5 APNs in my list. I actually have to remove one labeled MMS from the bottom of the list and leave the one that is marked as LTE. Then after a reboot I can get MMS no problem. BTW GoSMS does do MMS, I used to use it but have since been using the stock SMS/MMS app.

Sorry, it was late at night/ early in the morning. Thought I included he fact that I was with Rogers. I also have a few APNs. I've played around with a few of them and now I seem to sometimes be sending pictures. It's entirely inconsistent and still takes over 5 minutes to send on the rare occasions it decides to.

I may have found the solution to my issue. I deleted all APNs and made one Rogers APN to act as all of them. I used the instructions I found on a website which I am apparently too new to link to. So far I have managed to send and receive picture texts to myself 100% of the time within a reasonable timeframe. I will be back if that changes when I message other people. Thank you all again for your help.

MMS and Visual Voicemail won't download (Fido)

I'm using the Rogers HTC One X on the Fido network and along with not recieing notifications for text messages, I also can't download MMS's or Visual Voicemail.
I manually input both Fido APN settings. I didn't have to unlock the phone when I put the Fido sim in, could that have something to do with it?
Also, when I did go to enter the APN settings, there was already one created for Fido, "ltemobile.apn" and it said Fido LTE. Any thoughts on what's going on?

Do you have a data plan?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium App
I have a data plan.
Tried installing Chomp SMS but still get a 'generic network error' message.
The downloads show a link to Rogers, I'm going to try using their MMS APN settings.

Update: tried using the Rogers apn mms settings but its still not working.
On the plus side Chomp seems to be doing a pretty good job of notifying me of incoming texts.
