Greetingz to the fam!
I'm a new kid on the block. I have a network locked Razr Maxx. I've bought the Unlock Code. I tried the combination codes to input the code, but when it prompts me to enter the unlock code, the phone dialer doesn't give me the option to enter alphabets. The code has alpha-
numeric characters, something like: 501B3GH7. I'm running the latest ICS. I have root access and need to carrier-unlock.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
There is no carrier unlock for the XT912.they're all unlocked for international use by default. And theres no option to use it on US GSM carriers such as AT&T or Tmobile since a solution to the block hasn't been found. Wherever you got the unlock code from, hopefully you can get a refund.
The XT910 is another story, for that model you need only bout with a non approved sim card and the phone prompts you for the unlock code.

This is all you need, sir. I've done it twice for 2 separate people using a Droid 2 Global on Verizon, and it works great. Enjoy.

Why forieners sppek not in person first. third why? Makes sense not!
Let me translate that for you guys.
He is asking if there is a way to unlock his phone without being 6+ months Verizon customer on postpaid account with a good account standing. In other words - how to unlock the phone without relying to Verizon.
And for the bad translation - blame google translate Not everyone in the world understands/speaks English no matter how common it is.
To address OP's question - no there is no tool you can use to unlock the phone if yours turned out to be from the "custom locked" ones by Verizon. Try one of the unlocking sites - if code they issue doesn't work - you are out of luck.
There is a word someone in China can unlock the phone without codes, but you will have to send the phone over. I can't give you any more directions unfortunately. Google would be your friend.
thansk!....................................................................
This website http://www.cdmatool.com is selling a tool that supposedly does a lot to your phone, even unlock it. That is if you have 699$ to spare...
I think if we can find some ways to enable memory scan, I am sure unlock code could be found from radio NV only. I am playing with some NV items but there is no success so far.
These seems to be NV items getting changed when phone is in locked and unlocked state. Some of NV get inactive and some of then get absolutely blank. It is not even filled with ZEROs

For my phone did not find an unlock code (Can someone help me unlock it with Verizon, I pay, thank you.
Hey guys my friend is about to buy droid 2 global ( i own galaxy s2) so I am familiar with rooting and stuff.
Now the question when i saw the droid it had to go thru activation from VERIZON.
If i buy unlock code i should be somehow able to first activate then somehow enter the code and unlock.
would rooting be recommended first to avoid activation? or how do i proceed. Thank you guys
You don't have to activate to unlock the gsm radio. Go buy unlock code online from somebody of the vendors. If you are lucky, code will work and you will be able to unlock the phone. If you aren't lucky, code will not work since Verizon alters codes of some handsets. In this case do not waste your money to purchase code elsewhere. You will need to get the phone activated with verizon on an account that's postpaid and been in good standing for at least 60 days. Then the owner of the account can call Verizon Global Support and request unlock code.
As for bypassing the activation screen, simply tap in all four corners of the sceen. Put foreign SIM in the phone (any non-Verizon/Vodaphone would do) this will trigger the subsidy code request mode where you punch in the 8 digit unlock code. You can read a bit more on unlocking D2G if you search around a bit.
Good luck!

I've a Droid 2 Global purchased from a seller in US, which I'd like to use in India with a GSM SIM Card. It was used with Verizon Wireless and when I tried to use it, it requested for "SIM Network Unlock PIN". This sounded like the unlock code and I have entered the 8 digit unlock code he provided to me after contacting Verizon. But, when I enter the code to unlock the mobile, it says "Network Unlock Request unsuccessful" and prompts for "SIM Network Unlock PIN" again!
I've made sure the mode is GSM/UMTS (verified with Global also, though!) and tried with different GSM SIM cards. All those SIM cards work normally when used in other mobiles. I've tried contacting Verizon support 5 times, Motorola Support 2 times and my local GSM carrier support 3 times. It appears it was with Verizon. I've verified everytime that the IMEI of the phone and the Unlock code given to me match with the data they have! They wonder why this is not working, but they couldn't help.
I've tried installing custom ROMs too! The problem remains same! I've installed Radiocomm to see if I could try with the codes at "Subsidy Code" but it returns status as 00 (which means unlocked as per some other forums!!).
Can someone help me understand what exactly is going on with my D2G?
The unlock code for your device was changed at some point, or VZW's database information is invalid. It happens. In such cases the device is usually sent to VZW for a warranty claim (if you are a VZW customer).
Sadly, I am not a VZW customer. I live in India and planned to use it with my local GSM Carrier.
I've purchased unlock codes from some website too. They provided 2 codes which turned out to be useless. Is there a way we can bypass this from Radicomm?
No, there isn't.

I purchased an unlock code from Rogers, but when I enter it into the phone using the other service provider's SIM card, I get an error message that says "Network unlock unsuccessful". Rogers can't figure out why the unlock code isn't working. They've refunded me the costs, but I can't get it to unlock so now I'm without a phone. Anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Did you confirm that Rogers has the correct MEI number to that phone?
There are other options online too for getting the unlock code for your phone... since you're willing to spend money for it, you could try one of the respected unlock sites and get the code that way.. there is really no reason why the correct unlock code wouldn't work..
Can someone please tell me if it is possible to use a prepaid Sim with a TMob Edge? If so would it have to be a Tmob brand Sim card? If this is not possible stock would it be possible through root access and possibly a rom change? I'd ultimately like to be able to use an AT&T prepaid sim. Thank you in advance for any info. I'm in a time crunch for this info so i really appreciate it.
P.S.- is this phone carrier unlocked out of the box?

The phone is not carrier unlocked out of the box. You will have to sim unlock through T-Mobile or another source if T-Mobile will not unlock it for you. It should work with an AT&T prepaid sim after you sim unlock.

Tmo will unlock it only if there is no balance on your phone. They will ask you why you want to unlock then give you the pin to unlock.

Do i need t mobile to unlock it even if it is rooted, what If i were to just flash say a stock at&t rom to the phone, could i then use am att prepay sim?
Thanks for the answrs!
Yes you need T-Mobile to unlock it. If not it doesnt matter if you have it rooted or not. You wont be able to use other sim cards or carrier's if you dont have it unlocked by T-Mobile.

So i just called and requested an international and carrier unlock. I was told that there was two ways to unlock it, first way being just a carrier unlock and second way being both international and carrier unlock which is what i requested. Then they asked for my imei and my email address and said that i would recieve the code and instructions via email within 24 hours. Is this the same process that you went through bryanthomas007? After completing this process is it possible to use a prepaid service?
