Hi all,
Looking for a good PDF reader for Honeycomb tablets that shows the PDF files in a magazine style. Like Zinio does, just with external PDF files.
Anything like that exists?
Thanks
Seems to be the theme of my last few posts but try-
repligo pdf reader.

That's what I've been looking for... Zinio allows it only for the special version PDFs you download from their shop...

I managed with kindle and android 3. Actually, with android ICS, kindle does not open pdf files, don't know why. I use an asus transformer tf101.
Have you tried Perfect Viewer with pdf plugin?

Actually works, but is quite slow compared to kindle, as far as I remember.
The strange thing about Kindle is that it does not appear in the list of applications available for opening pdf files. I also tried Default App Manager Lite, but it seems not working.
Im using RepliGo its not free but you can do notes, bookmarks, highlights.
Give it a try.

Yes, I've purchased it. It's great, but there is no support for dual-page view.
The best I've seen is using eBookDroid. It works best if you have a means of hiding the action bar, as otherwise, pages don't fit as well on the screen landscape mode, otherwise similar to the black bars on TVs showing animorphic widescreen movies).
ezpdf is the best I've tried
So I have read several places using minfreemanager helps with HOX multitask issues somewhat. My question is to what extent? Can you say use web browser, answer a text, then come back to same spot? What about same thing with gaming, streaming music in background and using gps? I really really love this phone, AMAZING display and build design. I am even willing to deal with the 10gb HD, but I stream music, read ebooks and use GPS alot. I just left sprint and want this phone sooo bad. Any input or personal experience on the matter will be appreciated and +1'd thanks!
I haven't used minfree personally, but I do have CleanROM installed. I can listen to Pandora while typing this, switch over to YouTube and watch a video (pandora pauses automatically) exit the video and keep typing in the xda-app and Pandora keeps playing where I left off in the song.
Is this the functionality you're looking for? I've been told the memory management settings in that ROM can improve it even further but I have yet to try those. The web browser isn't a fair test because the stock browser always tells it to reload.
I don't game so I can't comment on that.

Ok, just tried Pandora, GPS navigation, and I can start typing in here and switch to texting someone without it killing any of the apps. All my text stays on the screen in both apps. Not sure how much more you'd want really.

IM glad to hear this. What version of cleanrom are you running?

Hello all,
I get all my magazines (and most of my books, technical at least) digitally.
How well does Zinio, Kindle, and Moon readers work on the 10.1? Does it screen geometry work well with pages and pdfs?
Thanks,

Moon reader works very well not sure about the others

That would be a very subjective opinion. IMO the GNote10 works extremely well as a reader but I don't tend to try and read specialized formats. When you find out be sure to let us know.
Kindle works great.
Actually my Note 10.1 IS my reader for newspaps, mags, currents, kindle. For kindle I setted it to black background to get 14hrs of reading. Had to get used to it but now I like white letters on black
I use Repligo reader for my PDF's, ezPDF too. I like to use Coolreader for my epub, txt documents and use Polaris to read word docs... I know its a few apps but different apps give different options... I know Moon+ also gives you the option to read out the books too, got that there too as well as Ireader... Haven't really tried other formats but I love the (almost) A4 size screen... Better than my 7" galaxy tab...
I have also looked for a good Magazine reader and finnaly found it. Manatano reader premium .. so nice! If it is a PDF it has a feature where it makes it to a ebook look when reading

I use Aldiko Book Reader Premium for eBooks mainly. I started using it with a rooted Nook Color and liked the interface more than others. I have Kindle and Nook installed as well, but they are not used much. For pdfs, I use exPDF reader; works well.
Thanks for the great advice all!
Anyone else use Zinio for magazines?

I use Zinio and it works great. I download the magazine(s) I'm interested in and read them offline - I read somewhere that some other apps don't allow you offline reading
Cheers
C
Nook works great.
I cannot go past reading page one of any book so not the question for me but there should not be a problem in reading books only thing you need is a good app but yes it may not give you the kindle book reader experience or the battery life but at the same time should not be an issue as long as you can do with the weight i would rather get a 100$ tablet to read ebook then using a note if that all I am gonna do
But thats not all I do, I play music, watch movies and do some work.. Gotta mix it up a bit. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...
I have a text book that's like 170mb and when using Aldiko it looks good but lags really bad when trying to turn pages etc.
Any suggestions?

Try to save it as a reduced size file in acrobat to make it smaller. I use ezpdf and acrobat reader on my S3 but I never view files that big.

Meant to put this in the nexus 7 forum but the question remains.

I grabbed Moon+ Reader from the market for .epub files on my Nexus 7, but found it opens PDF's and does an awesome job with everything I've thrown at it.

Moon reader will do inverted and scaling.
Digitized by the Master's fingers on a Samsung Galaxy S III (VZW)
Try RepliGo. Not free but I've used it to open a 220MB pdf file.
File was Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine which has tons of pictures, diagrams and charts and it handled it very well.

best reading app i have found so far has to be moon+ reader, the pro version is really awesome to
Any help here? Since, Nexus 7 has a 7 inch screen, usual page view is out of the question, it is to small. If I use text reflow option, the text is fine but it isn't aligned like it is in normal page view, and the pictures are way off. I tried
- Default reader
- Adobe Reader
- Kindle
- Aldiko
- Moon Reader
All of them are the same. Book reading on Nexus 7 isn't as good as it is said in commercials, for now at least.

I think that is only your opinion as I use Moon reader+ and couldn't be happier.
You have the choice to change the margins width and font size.
Also bear in mind you should look for an appropriate eBook format like .epub as opposed to .PDF if you want to have the best experience.

MoonReader + is perfect for me as well. What don't you like about it? what formats are you trying to read?
If PDF try perfect viewer with the pdf plugin.
How about Fabrik?
This is the best reader that I have proved, it is from sony, so the UI is perfect

IF THIS WAS HELPFUL HIT "THANKS"
Nope, sorry. Although I am very grateful for all the help, they don't do it. All my books are in .pdf, but I tried finding .epub but failed. Sony one is incompatible with Nexus 7, Fabrik seemed really nice but it is trial so I don't think I'll be using it much longer. I will keep it though.
Thank you all!

You will never find a perfect reader for pdf documents, simply because of the pdf format which is not adapted for tablet or e-readers (pdfs are not ebooks).
You may want to try converting your pdf into an ebook format (such as epub) with the free and open source Calibre app for pc, Mac or linux
