[APP] Task Manager S4 Shortcut - Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

[APP] Task Manager S4 Shortcut
### THIS APP IS ONLY FOR Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or other Samsung compatible devices ###
This is a link to the original Samsung App's icon missing on Samsung GS4, GS3 and Notes II.
If installed on compatible Samsung device (eg Galaxy S2) where the icon is already present, adds the ability to activate the Task Manager from the notification bar.
It allows you to access the Task manager through the app drawer, the homescreen and the notifications bar without having to long-press the home button.
This application installs also four widgets (shortcuts) to the individual tabs on the task manager: Active applications, Downloaded applications, RAM and Storage for a fast and direct access to the individual functions; please use the Back button instead of the Home button to close these shortcuts because otherwise it will not work correctly.
This application, unlike other similar, does not show the launcher shortcut in the list of applications of Samsung Task manager.
It will be also installed an Help icon through which you can activate or deactivate the notification and share the app with your friends.
The donate version without pop-up is faster than the free one when starting the Task Manager from the notifications bar and includes the translation of the label of the App congruent to the language set on your device.
Currently supported languages are:
.Arabic
.Czech
.Danish
.Deutsch
.English
.Espanol
.Francais
.Hrvatski
.Magyar
.Italiano
.Latviesu
.Lietuviu
.Norwegian
.Nederlands
.Polish
.Portogues

.Turkce
If your language is not present in this list, please let me know that I will provide to insert it; tell me the name of your language (as it appears in the list of the languages that you can set on your device) and the label that should appear below the Task manager icon.
Please report even if some translation is not correct.
PLEASE UNINSTALL ANY cb56 TASK MANAGER BEFORE INSTALL THIS ONE.

Force dialer to default to favorites

Anyone know if there is a way to do this with stock app?
When i hit phone, it is annoying to always be on the dialer screen. Yes, I can speed dial a couple contacts, but I have a favorites list of 20 or so, and I would like to land there first.
Any ideas other then an alternate launcher? Would an alternate launcher even do this?
That was a nice feature of the iPhone. 99% of the time I am calling 1 of the people on my favorites list as well, this would be nice if it was possible.
I do not know if it is or not.
Would also appreciate this setting.
A work around that might be useful:
From your home screen find a screen that is fairly empty and long press like you are adding a widget. Select "Shortcuts" then select "Direct Dial" Choose someone from your contacts list. You now have a direct dial shortcut to that contact on your screen.

I actually did that. I even made my own icon that matched the Launcher Pro icons and added it to my dock. It direct dials my best friend.

Not a bad idea but not really a solution/work around for a shortcut to your top 10-20+ favorites.
I agree - not a good solution if you have many on a fav list. For a 2 or 3 I just use speed dial from the dialer.
Has anyone tried Dialer One?
(from the thread looking for an alternate dialer) I'm too new they don't trust me with linking to it.
Another possible alternative is to add a Folder Widget end select "Starred Contacts" from the list.

What app do you use to grab a screen shot?
Regarding Screen Cap:
If you are rooted there is a market app. Another way is to use the ddms.bat tool that is in the SDK - it launches the Dalvik Debug Monitor on your computer and this can do a screen cap (Menu - Device - Screen Cap)

no app when I took that. It was using the android sdk to do it. Guide on how to do it is found here: http://www.simplehelp.net/2009/07/21/how-to-take-screenshots-of-your-android-based-phone-from-windows/
Launcher Pro ( the paid version ) also has a favorites widget that will let you configure either full screen or 1x4.
Why not just use dialer one? You can do exactly this with dialer one + you can do so much more, like custom backgrounds and change all the text colors etc.
I just added the folder of starred contacts. Really nice, actually.

How to create a floating app switcher.
If you want to do one-click-switch among apps, a floating app switcher, as shown in Fig.1, may help you a lot. The switcher window is floating on top of any running app or home-screen, and it can be hidden or show at your will. This post tells you one easy way to create such a floating widget.

Fig 1.
1. Prerequisite:
1.1. install "Elixir 2" and "Elixir widget"
1.2. install "Widget Window"
1.3. install "Tasker"
All can be found in google.play.
2. Build Procedure:
2.1. Create a Elixir 5X1 widget
click an X icon, select "recent application" and then app index (from 1 to 9)
repeat the above step for every X icon
adjust label, icon images, background transparency as your like
name it, for example, as "app_switcher"
create the widget.
Instead of "recent app", you can choose your favourite apps as action items.
2.2. Create a Widget Window
Run "Widget Window"
click menu button and then select "New Window"
select "Elixir 5X1" as widget type
click "Restore Button"
choose "app_switcher"
click "Create" button
Now you would be back in "Widget Window"
Name the window, for example, as win_app_switcher
resize and relocate the window as your like
2.3. Create a Tasker task to show/hide the window
Run Tasker
create a task, for example, "aswitch"
switch on/off the window is down through tasker-plug-in "Widget Window"
Fig 2 gives more detail of the task
Fig. 2
2.4. Create a task shortcut for "aswitch" on desktop, or create such a button in a Elixir widget (or widgetsoid widget) in notification area, as shown in Fig 3.
Now, you can click the "aswitch" button to toggle the floating app switcher.
Nice! I'll try this, but for now, gmd has gestures to switch from app to app and to see the last apps and chose one
Sent from my S150 using xda app-developers app
You can also use "quick launch" to set a keyboard shortcut to the tasker task and therefore toggle it on and off with search + w for example.

FAQ
Why I cannot uninstall Sidebar Launcher?
The "Lock screen" feature requires activating device administrator, you have to deactivate it in security settings before installing.
There are two ways to uninstall it:
1. Open Sidebar Launcher, go to settings page, find the "Uninstall" option. (Recommend)
2. First, go to "System settings" -> "Security settings" -> "Device administrators" deactivate "Sidebar Launcher", then uninstall Sidebar Launcher in a normal way.

[APP][4.1+] Toddo - the convenient task list manager

Hi folks,
So I have been in search for a good-looking yet simple task list manager and to my surprise found none. Some require cloud sync, some integrate with calendars, maps and whatnot, some need crazy permissions and some just look horrible.

I am a proud Note 4 user and I've made an app for myself. Its core distinctive features:
Stores lists in plain text format that is convenient to read and edit and can be easily pulled and pushed to the device
Has just one screen - list of tasks with a small one-line form on top that lets you filter new task or add a new one (it filters as soon as you press on priority buttons or start typing the title)
Supports several task states: high-priority, low-priority, current/active (i.e. "doing now"), dropped, completed
Each task can be given extended multiline description by pressing on the list item
Sorts tasks in a complex way according to their states (e.g. high priority goes before regular, yet high priority with "current" goes before other high priority tasks)
Toggle "done" state with a checkbox near each task. Bulk-change states by long pressing an item to bring actionbar's into selection mode
The list file is saved after each change automatically; it also makes backup before every file write (pull them with adb) because I am paranoid when it comes to losing my tasks
Supports Samsung's MultiWindow SDK
Generally, the core principle is usability - similar to iOS' Reminders but less buggy (it crashed on me every other day) and more feature-rich. Still, I didn't want to make another S Planner, it's already good.
It's very much in beta state - I can easily add remaining stuff with the feedback of others (hard to convince myself to finish it ).
Stuff to-do:
Copy Menu
Share Menu
Edit task details
Dependent tasks support
Drag to reorder
Home screen widget
Photo support
Due date support
Alert device when due
File list support (open list from FS, save, copy, create)
Go to file list when click on appbar app title
Swap refresh and clean AB btns
Confirm delete or add undo
Don't just ignore on-save exceptions
Retain state on rotate
mod edit - closed as per OP request
Could you add a Google Keep sync feature?

Like I said in the first post, I don't want to load it with features you can find in other tasks. Besides, there seems to be no Google Keep API. Why don't you use Keep app itself? It's supposedly good.

Help us to create the best Android TV BOX launcher!

Ugoos team launched a new chapter of building common Android TV Box launcher, which can be a better alternative for Your device.
Standard TV Box launchers are not so suitable to use it with RC and different air mouses. Ugoos Launcher main target is to be a strong alternative for TV boxes with different Remote Controllers.
Right Ugoos Launcher version 1.3 is available in Play Market
Here is a new 1.4.4 BETA version for manual install

New features and improvements:
Launcher settings gave ability to add, create, delete and rename groups, but several of them (All apps, Options) users cannot delete, in order not get rid of all apps.
Added ability to change category order and made one of category’s app as “Main app”
Weather temperature indication was added in upper bar and it’s customization was added in Launcher options
Theme manager was with dozens of different color schemas and custom icons for categories
Please help us to make this launcher better and user-friendly for a wide range of users

I really wanted to check it out, but it just crashes on my box. Won't open even once. I have noticed that a lot of launchers do this, though.

Displaying apps on one raw
Hi,
Is there any option to display the apps of the selected section on only one row (in stead of spreading them on all the screen)?
This could be useful, especially on TV, when a movie or an image is already on the screen. This way, we don't hide all the screen with the app shortcuts.
Of course, this supposes that it is possible to show the launcher over an already running image (or movie) like the android tv launcher does when we hit the home button.
I tried your ugoos launcer and its good. I however settled with tv2 launcher. Reason being that tv2 launcher let me save the settings and then copy those settings to another box and import everything in few clicks. I don't have to do everything manually again and again. BUT Ugoos is still my 2nd backup option. Can become number 1 option if it has the import settings option.
I have some other ideas also..
please add recent app option
thank you!
why does there have to be a white background behind the icons ?? Background for icons would look much better being transparent. Also the launcher is supposed to automatically put apps in different categories but it does not do this at all. For example I have the chrome browser app but launcher does not put it in the internet category etc etc. For these reasons I will not be using it at all. Thanks
I just use Microsoft launcher. Seems to work fine
