Is ClockWorkMod recovery absolutely necessary? Aren't there any tools to flash Micromax devices from pc? As Micromax devices come pre-rooted, things should be easy. Are there any devices compatible with A90 , so that their ROMs could be used?

Yup cwm is necessary but A90 doesnt comes rooted.And yes the specs are almost same as karbonn A18 & their rom can be used

so after installing clockworld then what?? did any1 make a rom for the mmx a90 or mmx 90s ??? in the mmx a90s ,micromax ruined it adding custom icons and wallpaper view for the menu, please if anyone could make a custom rom for the a90s with pure ics, as rishi raj said, the same rom of karbonn a18

and i need to ask another thing that is off d topic, ive seen the a90 in action and the dual core a90s too, my uses in the phone will be just surfing the net, stock browser or opera , the IM apps , skype , music sometimes if player runs outa juice, sms , calls, wifi hotspot and youtube.. all the normal purposes and am not at all intrested in gaming in a phone, will the single core mmx a90 be good and smooth enough?? ..the mmx a90s isnt fully pure ics theme, thts why am bit botherd , like d pure android ics or jelly bean.

There isn't much price difference between both,right? And the dual core a90 is a newer model. According to the current trend in market, the newer a device(especially Android devices) is, the more advanced will it be and higher will be its value-for-money.
And for the UI part. Its pretty easy to go back to Stock Android UI, as UI isn't hard coded into the system(unlike other OS's). UI is for the most part Launcher and Status Bar. These can be just installed like normal apps. Status Bar may need to be installed as System app. You don't need to flash anything(but you may need root!). I don't know much about themes and icons.

No im not using a custom rom but i hope we'll soon get cwm.As regard to A90 i havent faced a single problem with processor or ram even if using multiple apps,browser or wifi.Wifi is very fast.If you are buying a new one i will suggest you the A90s(as newer is better).But i suggest if you are not a heavy gaming fan u can go for A90.In A90s u can use custom launcher & custom icons if u dont like the ui

the karbonn a18 got pure stock ics, but they dnt have those software android buttons, and i hate to hold the physical home button to bring out the running apps list, but the a90 has amoled and the software buttons, dam easy to see the running apps by clicking the dedicated running soft button,thr has been these rumors tht mmx will provide a90 and a100 later with jelly bean update, hope its true, custom launcher- i dnt know, wont it eat the ram for custom themes?

Holo launcher hd doesnt have themes.Its da best launcher.Theme doesnt eat ram they just theme ur icons & dont remain in background.The themed icons will remain there even if uninstall the theme but not launcher.Hope so well get JB

Root A90S
Thanks to Mr. Evil for rooting A90 link. But Er, that was for A90. bgohil7 asked for A90S rooting. Is A90S, pre-rooted for adb?If not,do the following code on terminal or adb shell :
echo ro.secure=0 >/data/local.prop
It works for stock ICS, but not for Jelly Bean onwards(as told by Dan Rosenberg, the researcher who discovered this exploit). You can use PC Suites like Android Commander, QtADB,etc in root mode with adb root.If you get adb root, just push su and Superuser.apk to /system/bin and /system/app through adb to root the device manually.
Edit: The link given by Mr.Evil uses Bin4ry's root tool, which works on nearly all ICS/JB devices. So, it'll work on A90S too. I was looking for a way to root my tab when i update to Jelly Bean. Now, i can happily update.

just one more thing, so many people are comnplaining abt the volume of the a90 very low during video recording or volume of ringer low or the handset speaker volume low, u faced anyprobs related to volume?
yes , but i rooted my phone and increase volume.

I came across karbonn a18 and saw that both have almost same chipset and hardware.
Can we install the rom for karbonn a18 for a90 with some modifications?

Micromax devices are usually prerooted for adb i.e, if you connect the device to pc and use adb or a tool based on adb, you'll get root access. It will be indicated by a # prompt in adb shell. If you don't get it by default, type su command on shell and you'll get root access most probably. Check if your device have in-built su by using a root checker on device.
In any of the above cases, you can easily root the device by copying superuser.apk and it's su binary to device through adb.

Check dmesg from boot section for both devices to see if there are differences or incompatibilities.
kitchen cooked rom wont flash
downloaded the stock rom zip file from micromax's ftp server and tried to cook it the kitchen, but after all the procedure when i flashed the rom it aborted due to some reason "status 0". My device was rooted with cwm recovery installed, i signed all apks after changing them, and followed every procedure that has to be followed to build the rom.
Can someone suggest what went wrong or is it so that rom cooked in kitchen wont flash on our device?

U replied me to an unasked question.
I asked if we can flash karbonn a18 rom onto our device or not, my device is already rooted with cwm installed.

I meant get the dmesg at boot time of Micromax A90 and Karbonn A18. It could contains valuable information about the device using which you could decide if they're incompatible. My friend on XDA who had the same tablet as me but with a slight change in model number found out minor differences between the models by checking dmesg at boot time. My tab's firmware couldn't properly operate the other tab's g-sensor.
I want to know the difference between legoice canvas 4 v3 ROM and canvas turbo ROM, because If there are interesting features in canvas turbo ROM then I"ll change my rom

Seriously you are requesting mod to close? There are 40-50 4.1 JB ROMs. All are having sizes 200-350 MB. Do you think any one can download with 1MBPS? And about screenshots, anyone will give the screenshot of good parts of their ROM. Reviews doesn't matter. I also made reviews on some ROMs but today I am using other ROM. This is why I dont want to go through reviews. And I asked opinion which 4.1.x ROM is good. If you don't want to give opinion then don't ask mods to close the thread. If you don't want to give, simply leave the thread.

Dont know buddy..how you are using 4.2 roms..as now they are extremely fast & stable itself..and you can add more boost with the help of scripts like a one given by bsuhas or by pure performance x...
Had you used MACKAY V3.5 or Turbo V3 by sagar..use them..i am sure you will reverse your mind about 4.2.....
@ for you information only..4.2 is more advanced in terms of ram management & battery performance than 4.1 so its better dude..

You said that's why I flashed Mackay ROM. The problem is low FPS score(21-22 fps) in all 4.2 ROMs. I want 27 fps score like in Suvi and Lewa ROM required for me for good gaming experience.

Devs, I hava micromax a110 new one which have in box jelly bean 4.1.1,
On using 4.1 based custom roms my both cameras working like charm.....
But on using any 4.2 based custom rom any of camera is not working evern it not shows in app drawer.....
I have heard that developers had find a solution for that by using a*********u kernel.....
Can any one help me please I want to use 4.2 based rom only and don't want to go back to 4.1.1 Please solve this issue....

ppl there are some changes in camera lib files... in pre installed 4.1 in our canvas 2 ..... so if some experts try to change d camera libs ...it will work correctly

it wont work with any kernel because there are changes in camera libs of this device ....so only devs can help out .... and devs are really not intrested it seems
unfortunately this is realy bad.
What could we do to resolve the problem.If any developer tried to resolve it then we must stay in 4.1.2 . Maybe we could change the new lib with the old or is it a hardware issue??

Try flashing thunderzap kernel .mostly ur kernel makes dis camera problem.so try thunderzap or bindas kernel or stock btw iam using a******u's latst kernel and iam able to use my cam so if u manage to get a******u latest kernel go for it
