Accelerometer/Orientation/Magnetic sensors. - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

Can someone tell me where those sensors are located?
The story so far: I thought my last battery had fried the sensors when it overheated. But apparently, the sensors are fine. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
I just need a fix for this. Thanks.

I believe some are attached to the main flexcable near the speaker and other imbedded into the logic board. Maybe someone else can shed some better light on this.
I have used z-device test (found in market free) for these sorts of test very help full, at least to see what is and isn't working as it should

Sorry about that. I meant orientation sensor. My bad.

[Q] Gyroscope enabled?

I have tried multiple sensor readout programs and games that supposedly use the phone's Gyroscope if functioning, but don't think it's working. Doesn't this phone have one?

It's got one, we have devices for it in the kernel, but I have no idea how to read it. Catting the dev doesn't work (but it doesn't for the accelerometer either).
Actually... hmm... /dev/k3g has the same broken permissions that were hosing up the compass in some of the early Gingerbread custom kernels. I wonder what happens if I change it. Will try in a day or two, probably going out of the house soon.

[FIX] Random reboots/shutdowns. Pictures added!

So since this issue has been giving me quite a bit of frustration, I have devised a very simple fix that should work for at least a few other people. There was a post in the ARHD thread where it suggested cleaning the connectors and the battery. I was pulling out my battery to give this a try when I realized the battery could be pushed slightly farther down into the housing, allowing for a more solid connection.
What I did was wedge a small piece of business card between the top of the battery housing and the battery itself. This has worked very well for me so far. If anyone else would like to try this and either confirm or deny that it is working for them that would be great.
As requested, pictures have been attached. One shows the items you need, another shows where I placed it against the battery and the other shows it sitting flush in the battery housing. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I found pulling the ground pin out a bit helps, the one that makes contact with the battery cover and can cause touchscreen issues.
I thought the random reboots/shutdowns were a software problem. Because after I flashed this a fix a found the issue stopped. Kinda...

I've tried a lot of the fixed, including underclocking to 1ghz and varying ghz between 1 and 1.5. But this has worked for me, figures I would share. But a lot of phones are different...so what works for me might not work for others. Just thought I would share what worked for me! Plus I think its worth a shot, don't see how it could hurt anything. But this is xda, so at your own risk and all that other stuff.

I heard placing a small piece of foul between the two can help also. But if the problem creeps up again for me i'll give that a try too.

I have found that whenever I have this problem, re-seating the battery temporarily solves the problem. I will try this next time as I agree these phones do seem to have a problem with the battery connection.

Best of luck! You may also want to put some rubbing alcohol on a towel and wipe the connectors on battery and housing.

Can anyone confirm that this works? I saw a thread where someone sent their phone to HTC and they replaced the mother board on warranty and it fixed the problem.
I called HTC and told the problem and they confirmed that they have been receiving lots of complaints and replacing the mother board would fix the problem. I have a month before my warranty is up so maybe ill try this before sending it in.

atrix 2 sound problem

Hello i got my atrix 2 days ago, so i'we been trying it out coz it got 3 days replacement, i got a weird sound issue in some games dead trigger aralon sword and shadow there is a weird clackering sound in the background it goes away in dead trigger when i go ingame but stays with aralon.
Not just with the speakers but also with earpices/headset. im on 2.3.6 newest what the phone could download. anyone got same problem? If someone could try them out Dead trigger is free for example and see if there is the "clacking" sound in the menu? Tomorrow is the last day i can replace my phone pls help me! thanks!
edit: just noticed i couldnt hear the clacking sound but its still there ingame as well in dead trigger. gta 3 is not doing this problem
i just noticed that both aralon and dead trigger runs unity engine
I've had issues with my atrix doing weird sound stuff. I believe it was 2.3.6 that caused it as I have no more issues with ICS installed

I'm on AT & T ICS leak and have this issue too (in the Aralon)
Try to disable sound effects in settings (default feature). It helped me, but all clicks have not gone away
Hi i have the same problem with the audio, it sounds like the speaker is dirty or broken, but happens with certain audio frequencies. I couldnt send my a2 to warranty because I'm in Venezuela but it looks like a hardware issue to me. A friend bought the same phone to the same seller in amazon and sounds awful too, when I saw the atrix reviews everyone wrote that the audio quality in this phone is really good and I'm disappointed. Earphones was my solution.

Why is the AT&T version of the MB865 "abnormal" and which MB865 is the "normal" one you are referring to?
Also, this thread looks eerily familiar: Dead Trigger Request!
Please, as always... search before making new posts!!!
*Took me a while to notice this until I had a chance to get on my computer.

that thread begin with post the apk pls for dead trigger not about the sound problem, I asked to provide model number because all comes with slightly different frimware(and prolly some differences in hardware too ME/MB) and since some people said its working fine and some not, i thought probably it has to do something with that too, like its ok on ME but not with MB.

But here is the thing guys. That thread is about dead trigger and so is this one... You should have posted in that one to begin with instead of start a new one, as most of us read all posts and not just the ones with tiltes that we like or ONLY new threads... I have said MANY times now, and I am so tired of it, just read my latest sticky and it will answer all of your questions like where to post, should I start a new thread etc.

Regardless of why this thread was posted after the other, you had a perfect opportunity to address your sound concerns with the Dead Trigger game (which you reference 4 times in this OP) in the other. That's all I'm saying. My point is that we need not have threads such as, "Dead Trigger .apk Please" then "Dead Trigger Sound Problems" then "Dead Trigger Graphics Issue" then "Dead Trigger Cheat Codes" then "Dead Trigger Force Closes" etc. See what I'm getting at?
Also, I'd have some reservations about believing that there's a hardware issue with sound just based off a game or two. If the system's proprietary sound functions (call sound, external speaker, notifications, dialpad, etc.) were showing some signs of "crackling" then yes, that'd lend belief that the hardware is afoul, regardless of it being an ME or MB device...

Proximity Sensor Fix

I've searched and other than the "Viber" problem, I haven't seen anyone mention anything about the proximity sensor being stuck on(mine is). I tried everything I saw in the forums and saw nothing then was just searching the market and found this:
Rezound Prox Sensor Calibrator
By default, mine showed "NEAR" when the prox sensor came on, so if you change the top setting (Low Threshold) to 100(all the way to the right) then it makes the distance you need to be before the sensor recognizes you as "FAR" about 3 inches away from the phone. Fixed the issue for me, figured I'd help someone else out.

Is this normal? What causes it?

I think it's the back cover of our device. It's all about friction between plastic and camera.

Ok so I've looked around on lots of other websites and lots of different types of phone report this issue and apparently it's normal.
Your guys phone is probably rattling when you tap it near the camera but maybe you're just not noticing it like I do...
Ok I've discovered something else and I think this is to do with the camera.
Open the camera, set the auto focus, tap the back of the phone near the camera when the auto focus is locked and you'll hear it rattle even louder.
This must be something to do with the camera/auto focus and from looking at Google it appears to be normal, but can anyone else confirm this please?
Thanks

If it happens when the camra is focusing, I would expect it to be the noise a digital camera makes when it focusses. It happens when you tap the phone because the camera would need to focus again...
... I don't think the Ace II is for you. May I suggest a Nokia 1100?...
