Dungeon Hunter 4 - Asus Transformer TF700

OMG is this game laggy on this tablet. Is anyone else playing this game with no lag? If so what did you do. My Samsung S3 plays this game with zero lag. But I keep changing Roms and I have no idea how to save this game. Any help would be great... Thanks

Runs smooth for me on balanced mode besides the characters walking animation not being smooth. Every time he takes two steps I feel a slight stop and go in the game.
Cromi 3.4.7 (jb4.1.1) with hunds kernel v2.2

Thx for the reply. Looks like I might need to root my tablet. Since the 4. 2 update this tablet is very laggy.

I don't think the tablet being too weak for games would be correct. This tablet has the cpu/gpu to run them. There is something else that is keeping games from having full compatibility or smoothness with this tablet. You can search and find theories from game developers being too lazy to properly code or there being an underlining issue with Tegra3 chips that Nvidia never addressed but was supposedly working on a patch for. More likely it's the high resolution of the screen which we all ready know causes a performance hit. I don't see that as being week since it is giving us a beautiful picture when using the tablet for various tasks. For those running a custom rom, is there the option to lower the resolution of the screen for extra performance?
To the original poster, not make it sound like you don't know what your tablet is doing, but are you running anything in the background or accidentally have battery saver set? I will try downloading this game and see what I get performance wise. I'm running a fresh stock install of 4.1 firmware.
----------
No problems for me running the game on stock firmware 4.1. Ran it in both performance and balanced mode.

Also im on cromi-x 4.5 with hunds 3.0.6 kernel today, running close to smooth with hunds kernel app that sets the cpu/gpu for games. Sadly i cant run the game on medium setting because the app wont save the settings after game relaunches
Edit: got it to change

I stated that the tf700 is too weak for this game.
I agree that the tf700 has got the potential to be a game perfomer, but unfortunately it ain't.
You elaborated the reasons for this and I think you're right.
Yet, we are not living in theories but in reality where game developers skip our device
(I tried to address some of them asking for a fix, but to no avail).
Here is an example of a correspondence I had with Get Set games inc.:
"Dear Dev,
My almost 2 year old daughter is mad about Mega Run (which she keep calling "Monkey Circles").
I am an old fan of Mega Run and Mega Jump too.
The issue is that the game's graphics are not optimised for the 10 inch screen of the Asus Infinity (TF700).
Therefore the graphics are a bit blurry.
I would appreciate it if you could help me find a solution for what I have described,
or maybe issue a version that will be optimised for our tf700's screen.
Hope my request will be considered since as I have written, we love your application.
Thanks with advance and keep up the good work.

Thanks for getting in contact with us and for the feedback. It is great to hear that you and your daughter have been enjoying Mega Run. We have just release Mega Run on Android, and with that release we chose to only have one set of graphics at a medium/high resolution. The reason we chose to do this is that most Android devices fit this resolution very well. In the future, we hope to have higher resolution graphics for tablets such as the Asus Infinity.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Mike"
IMHO - this is not a standard machine... I should have learned this sooner (before I purchased it).
Anyways, the TF700 has it's strong areas: great device for playing all kinds of media and even some games.
The mSD slot is awesome and all in all I enjoy it.

It runs fairly well, actually. Frankly, it runs smoother than Skyrim ever did on my PC. (That game used to literally freeze every 2 steps to re-render the scene. Crappy coding from Bethesda... As per bloody usual.)

You could've known the game would be blurry. Games are made with the 'hyped' devices in mind: The Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy S3. Which both run 1280x800, as opposed to 'our' 1920x1200.. (Quite a significant size increase.)
Anything with a higher resolution is a HD version, and specifically has HD listed behind it. ('Angry Birds HD'.)
Give it +-six months. Then, the SGS4 and the Note 3 will be the top devices alongside the HTC One and the potential new Nexus. And developers will have no other choice but to finally make games and apps in HD.

I agree with you that eventually 1920x1080 will be a common resolution for Android devices, but I still believe Tegra 3 is too weak to run those games at full HD resolution (all Full HD devices I know have either a Snapdragon S4 Pro or Snapdragon 600 to power that many pixels). I have seen quite a few games that lag miserably on my tf700, even if it is optimized for Tegra. Example, Beach Buggy Blitz (running at max setting of this game is a big no-no on my tf700).
As for Skyrim, I really have no complaint about frame drop and stuttering, it runs quite smoothly on my laptop. Nevertheless, given the diversity of PC hardware, it could just be that I was lucky to have fully compatible hardware.

I don't agree : Dungeon Hunter 4 is very laggy on my tab and i am not playing that game anymore due to that issue. But i have played many hours to The Bard's Tale and it worked nearly perfectly (it would lag only when a lot of characters and huge effects, that means about 10 seconds every 4 hours) and bard's tale is imo more beautiful than dh4 and still it was developed in 2012 when hd screens were very rare. So imo the dh4 lag issue comes from poor design and programming.

It's primarily the I/O issue, not the Tegra 3.
The problem is that games are optimized for snapdragons because that's what the hyped, common-cattle owned devices (SGS3/4 & GT2) run.
SoulCraft THD: Perfectly.
SHADOWGUN THD: Perfectly.
Samurai II: Vengeance THD: Perfectly.
Puddle THD: Perfectly.
Zombie Driver THD: Perfectly.
Renaissance Blood THD: Runs well.
The Bard's Tale: Fine.
N.O.V.A. 3: Some issue with green images in main menu/intro, Game itself runs fine.
So no, it's not the Tegra 3. It's lazy developers and crap engines.
As for Skyrim, I really have no complaint about frame drop and stuttering, it runs quite smoothly on my laptop. Nevertheless, given the diversity of PC hardware, it could just be that I was lucky to have fully compatible hardware.

It's since been fixed in the patches. The issue occured during the first 3 updates (including vanilla base.). At one point I had backwards flying dragons that spun around breathing fire in mid air and stopped every few seconds as the game froze and unfroze  The engine Skyrim runs on is 12 years old, and instead of using a clean version they retasked the Fallout one with all the coding still cluttering it.

The main fault in this tablet is the i/o. Everything else is perfectly big enough to run the screen. With such crappy i/o, the tablet cannot cache applications at a rate needed, especially for files made for Full HD screens. This can be solved with a B2R tpye script or Data2SD. With Data2SD, even on a pretty cheap card, the tablet runs much much smoother. This is why the browser on stock runs so terribly. The internal i/o cant cache it fast enough. So, the Tega 3 is more then enough of power, but the problem is the i/o, which can only even start to be tweaked by unlocking/rooting, but even then there is no fix.

GPU performance has nothing to do with I/O.
I/O is slow for random writes, yes - but games usually don't write a lot to storage. The GPU is slow because it is simply not very powerful. See here:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6036/asus-transformer-pad-infinity-tf700t-review/4
With good programming, it can drive the full HD screen with acceptable framerate (see Epic Citadel), but apparently not every engine is so well optimized.

I notice the Nook HD+ that also has a 1080p display seems to play games smoother than the 700. Performance is about in between the 700 and 300, with the 300 being better overall.
The 4470 gpu is more robust for higher def displays and has dual channel memory, but a dual core. I would have expected the net result to be a wash, but does seem the dual channel memory might be the difference.
For game emulators though that are cpu heavy like MAMEreloaded, the Nook is a little faster. Gets hot in the bottom right corner though.

horrible
Yeah i tried this game. Changed graphics settings in game to lowest and had performance mode on and it still lagged like crazy. Not really my kind of game to begin with so it didn't upset me too badly, but i would have expected more from such a high end tablet.

I have uninstalled the game today : too laggy and i still believe that its code is bad (bard's tale is so much smoother on my same tab)

I know this is a bit of an old thread, I just not stumbled upon it. I've been using cromi-x for quite some time, and on earlier versions I didn't have much issue until I got into higher levels where more monsters generated, then it would lag briefly and go back to normal. As of lately I haven't even been able to play the game. I've played a few other games that seem to have similar features and get zero lag. Though I'm not a coder or developer, I feel that this is a issue with the game itself combined with i/o limitations of our tablet. SDBags has done some amazing work on his rom. I've tried all sorts of kernel and tweak combinations, none of which seem to correct the issue. To make the issue worse I was level 42 and lost my entire game and $40 worth of purchases that gameloft has yet to refund me. That, of course doesn't have anything to do with the laggy issue. I thought I would bump the thread to see if anyone else has come up with anything.

Asphalt 5 performance

I just installed this game and I am really disappointed in the performance on my Nexus. I'm running the latest CM rom with 33.1 kernel and even when overclocked to 1133 the game gets unplayable in most spots...
Anyone has any thoughts on that ? I search around and Droid users seem to get better framerates. Is the Nexus GPU so bad after all ???
Performance
I see what you are saying, but I don't find it excruciatingly laggy at all. Its pretty decent, but I do see the performance limits of the Nexus gpu. I also see the need for performance upgrades to the game itself. Other games go much smoother then this one (both are smooth though, just others are much smoother). Raging Thunder 1 and 2 are pretty beast on the nexus.
I don't find it a big problem at all. If anything, devs need to adapt for the nexus market
This is like the best to come to nexus I have a lot of the cars unlocked and get to play my music while I play. =) I dont see much lag on enoms with his oc/uv works great next update should be a bit faster.
Before I used Ivan's JIT this game was pretty choppy with long loading times, even with pershoot's ocuv. Now with Ivan's JIT and ocuv kernel, this game is super smooth with very fast loading times. If it can be optimized to run smoothly without JIT it would be even better.
I am also using CM's latest ROM and am getting pretty bad lag at times, I am thinking about going to Modaco's once the new version comes out. Is performance for this game really that different between ROM's?

I don't think it's a ROM issue as much as it is a developer issue.
Using enom's rom and it plays brilliantly on my N1
Gameloft has admitted it needs to be tweaked for the N1. It's not optimized but still looks great. My wife has an iPhone and it looks fantastic on it.
I wish developers would make graphically pretty games for Android that aren't racing games. Seriously, how many do we really need?

Well I didn't buy the game to confirm that, but if it really runs faster with JIT it means it's written in java and it's going to run like crap anyway... In that case they don't need to optimise it, they need to rewrite it as a native app.
It is smooth but not extremely, yeah it stil need to tweak, as I notice it actually play extremely smooth in Motorola Droid (Milestone).
It still playable with decent speed just slightly lagging when your car bang, fly over, then you notice the lagging issue.

All "native apps" are run from within a java shell. Basically, each frame the java code has to call into the native code. The alternative would be essentially writing OpenGL from the ground up in the native code, although even then it'd still need to be called from an active java app and all controls, sound, etc, would need to be handled in java. There's simply no other way to write native apps in Android.
Yes, sorry, that's what I meant by "native app" (that's how kwaak3 works for example). I can be wrong but I think if only input and audio are handled by java, the use of a different virtual machine using JIT can't make such a difference...

I played the game while running JIT and it made zero difference. It was still laggy at times. No ROM will make a difference as it's not the software here that is the limiting factor but the GPU. The snapdragon has a great CPU but unfortunately a pretty poor GPU compared with other phones say the Droid. The Droid was much smoother and even smoother was the iPhone.
Gameloft needs to optimize this game keeping in mind the hardware specs for each device. Just my two cents.

Interesting, with Enom's I always get lag. Good to hear that it works well for you.
Many people will probably have different views on what lag is, i get a lag when playing it and so will everyone else, some people may not notice it as much as others and in some cases it may occur less due to there actual set up but the ROM should not make a difference as it was not developed with the nexus one in mind, hence why it doesn't utilize the N1 as well as it utilizes the Moto

The market. Not the "Android Market", but the market for heavily investing in optimizing a game. Every Android handset is different - different plug-ins, different hardware, different software, etc. If you want to design a great game that performs brilliantly for 2 dollars, you need to sell a LOT of copies of it. Hundreds of thousands or more. Well, only the Droid has even sold that many handsets, and you'll never get 20%-50% penetration into a market with just one application.
Sure, Asphalt will run on nearly anything, BUT, it isn't going to run as well as it does on the iPhone despite the inferior hardware on that device, simply because optimizing it for one platform in Android (except MAYBE the Droid) isn't economically efficient.
The iPhone's biggest advantage (though that is looking to be short-lived now...) is the absolute lack of platform fragmentation. Every single iPhone or iPod Touch can run 99.5% of the available applications, and run them well. Almost all of them are running exactly the same software (obviously, there are some kernel differences and baseband differences, but the userspace kit is almost exactly the same). And there are 80 million of them. A developer just needs to hope for 1 percent penetration to make a killing on even a cheap application.
Until Android can get rid of excessive fragmentation (to at least a reasonable extent), it will suffer in the game world compared to Apple's kit. If Android can get down to just one version on effectively everything, with one set of APIs to address graphics at high speed, it'll be too expensive to make something perform as well - unless you want to pay $30 for an Android game (and I sure won't do that...).

How do I make GTA3 run smooth?

I am on stock 2.3.6. I installed 1.2 apk and it really lags alot.
Xperia play unrooted and stock seems to play it quite smoothly, nexus S is more powerful so surely it should run smooth??
I have the same problem and I also like to know how to fix it.. The game runs reaply badly for my usual gaming habits. I use Matrix kernel @ 1.46GHz and the latest CM9 nightly. I get really high bench scores for 4.0.3 and overall performance kicks the ass of my friends' stock Galaxy SII I-9100.

I have generally found the general section to be most responsive. That method you are saying is via root and I am not rooted.
I always played it on mute anyway, and after deleting the audio files i got a massive jump in performance (audio was being processed even with volume at 0). Personal preference, but a noticeable fps jump.
So I guess the game isnt optimized for powerVR?? It seems to run fine on adreno 205, this is disappointing.
I mainly want to play it for the nostalgic bit and the audio is really important part of it.
The nostalgia value of my GTA3 experience was with a sound bug that forced the rain to play constantly. Not really the highlight of the game for me
The sound on the Nexus S seems kind of delayed and i've noticed many games that slow down a little as sounds are meant to kick in. I don't know exactly why, maybe mediaserver isn't given good enough priority. This seems to be the same issue that plagued my GTA3 adventures though.

perhaps being rooted is the reason I have yet to experience the problems you describe. I play gta and games which are more graphic intensive than gta with np.
I don't think the processor is to blame for your inability to play the game. The ns processors have proven to be more than capable of handling most processes. Rather, the stock software does not allow the hardware to reach its full potential. In other words, the nexus s is a peacock you; you've got to let it fly.

If you honestly think that your quadrant score makes your phone with a single A8 cortex core faster than two A9 cores there is something seriously wrong with you. Software tweaks can make up to 1% difference in actual performance.

Mini-Review The Dark Knight Rises HD video

Hello all!
Here is my mini review of the game.
So the game is great...outstanding graphics etc. Things that need to be fixed...Performance. It is laggy and not only on the Note.
So if it lags on the GS3 then I expect an update to fix it soon...or at least I hope
Also, it wouldn't hurt if people actually moved their mouths during cut scenes!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.
Dont forget to watch in HD
The sixaxis touch profile is attached to the post as well. Stock DPI.
Regards
ive got this game on my gnote using the miui rom but its extremely laggy even if im oerclocked to 1.6 Ghz
MIUI is based on CM9/AOKP not Samsung ROMs correct?
If so, that is normal. Currently those roms cannot match the speed of Samsung ones specially since the kernal I am using has an overclocked GPU.
I am a CM9 fan from my Captivate days but for the NOTE, it is still not on par sadly.
Running 4.0.4 Classic rom with Notecore v7 EX
This game lags terribly and heats up the phone so much near the camera area, its crazy...
Tested it out on my wives Ipad 2 and it runs like a dream, looks better and also sits in multitask area and opens again no problem, why the hell with a 1.6mhz dual core super machine can we not get it to run anywhere near as good as bloomin god I hate apple, but they always get it right
Is not optimized for android. Check the GS3 having the same lag. If that one with a quad core and faster GPU cannot handle it then you know is the game. I hope Gameloft fixes it soon though as the lag does take away from the fun :\
my CPU is ocd to 1.6 and GPU to 400mhz (notecore v7, cleanote 3.1 rom), still laggy as hell. spent the last hour to tweak the setting using chainfire 3d, trying different plugins. and it seems better, but maybe its just a placebo effect.
def, need an update for performance...
I dont even try with chainfire. For now, Notecore is as good as it gets. The only thing that made me smile was seeing the GS3 with the same issues...a little bit of hope I mean, it still plays fine but I rather wait and play it better...hopefully.
To be honest even my newly updated Lets Golf 3 lags like hell, even though im OC'd to 1.6 with Notecore, I suppose its down to the shear size of the screen the graphics are having to push too.
Not sure these huge 3D games are ever going to run well on our notes
Nova 3 , Mass Effect 3 , Real Racing 2, etc..all run super smooth. Have you tried those?
Also, is screen resolution not size that matters.
What ROM you using?

Clean Note latest.
Aha, used to use clean note, was fantastic, will return to it
Sent from a galaxy note far far away
Sweet. Post back if you can, to see if you got some improvement.
Tried Cleanote 3.1 and Classic also tried stock ICS and GB still all lag pretty bad...
Then I stumbled across this rom
AniDroid-N7000 ICS ROM
This game certainly runs the smoothest, with a few lags but not as bad as the others i have tried, also tested Lets golf and it runs superbly smooth, not sure what he has done with this ROM, but it works for me.

Is not optimized for android. Check the GS3 having the same lag. If that one with a quad core and faster GPU cannot handle it then you know is the game. I hope Gameloft fixes it soon though as the lag does take away from the fun :\

agreed. what dev's do is just port the game over to android instead of starting from scratch thus giving android devices a bad name if the game does not properly run on android platforms. A quad core SIII should be able to handle this game with no lags or whatsoever. The galaxy note is not far behind the SIII so we should be able to play the game smoothly, a few fps drops is acceptable

Did you try the OCed kernel with Cleannote ?
I have tried that ROM you mentioned and the performance was not close to CleanNote with the OCed kernel in any of the highend games I tried before.
Its weird I tried Cleanote last night with OC Notecore EX ver 7 and this game ran exactly the same as when I tried it with Classic ROM with the same Notecore.
Now this morning i am testing AniDroid-N7000 ICS ROM and my findings are very much better, cant explain why, would love to know. I can actually play this game now and enjoy it, Ok its not quite as smooth and nice as the IPAD version but then thats not our Notes fault I guess, its down to the production of the game on Android, would love to hear others experiences with other roms.
Another point with Dead Trigger I was finding graphics set to high I would occasionally get screen freezes, but with the AniDroid rom it runs smooth, not had a screen freeze.
That is very odd indeed. I just played Dead Trigger for a while yesterday with the very high settings (Tegra 3) without a hiccup. In fact, that will be my next video
Gotta love how everyone's experience can be so different even with the same phones.
What OC settings do you use ?
I just leave Notecore defaults. Sometimes change to pegasusq maybe but everything else I leave as default for the OC kernel.

Experiences with Shadowgun THD (and any other 'THD' games) on TF700

Hey guys,
I had this on another forum, but unfortunately that forum has moderators who take their job way too seriously and the topic was moved to a dead section before I could get more than one reply. But that's not important, so...
I am looking for everyone and anyone's experiences with Shadowgun THD on this device. I was digging through the Play Store's reviews and saw a ton of TF201 owners who couldn't even play the game (and a few that recommended it oddly enough), and the one TF700 review I was able to find said he experienced some lag and force closes.
Have any of you guys played the THD version on your Infinity? Experience any issues? Is it worth the (supposedly minor) graphic enhancements?
I have not purchased the normal version, I was holding out buying the game until I got this tablet, but now I am not sure if the increased graphic display will drag down gameplay. The bit of experience I had with a Madfinger game is DeadTrigger. Even though this game is not specifically a Tegra version, I am able to play on the Ultra-High graphics setting with no issues. I will say this, watching zombies fly backwards after being shot with a shotgun on an Android device is damned impressive.
Any experience or thoughts is greatly appreciated. The one reply I received on the aforementioned board was that the user experienced no issues, but I would like to hear from as many people as possible. Thanks!

No problems for me except the game isn't outputting native 1920x1200. It looks to be an upscaled 1280x800 so it will look relatively blurry on the infinity's screen.
Plays fine on mine. Especially fun using one of my PS3 controllers through the Sixaxis app

Yeah the main reason I'm getting this game is because it is one of the few shooters with gamepad support, which is way more snappy than touch emulation.

I sometimes have trouble getting this game to play smoothly after I start shooting. If I reboot the tablet or just clear all running tasks using the task manager, it plays very well.

Kind of related, I just tried Auralux for the first time on my JB TF700 and it laggs like hell, every 5 or 10 seconds it freezes, anyone else with this problem? I thought this was a "famous" game everyone has, but I doubt it if it laggs like this.
I never played Shadowgun THD for too long on the TF700 cause the framerate is way too low. I also experienced a few crashes. The weird thing is, I played this game a lot on my HTC One X, and never had any low framerate or crash issue. I know the screen resolution on the two devices is different, but as someone mentioned before, Shadowgun isn't displayed in 1920*1080 on the TF700.
I had no issue in Dead Trigger. The framerate is much more solid, even if the resolution of the game is higher.
I also played all the free levels of Auralux, and there was no freezes, the game was really enjoyable. However, in Beach Buggy Blitz, it's impossible to max the graphics settings if you want to keep a decent framerate. Once again, no issue on my One X, but unlike Shadowgun, the game is displayed in Full HD on the TF700, where it's "only" 720p on the One X.
Absolutely no problems with shadowgun or NOVA 3... after jelly bean update NOVA 3 flies!
interesting post as i play the regular Shadowgun on my tf700 with no problems. the graphics actually look really good and game play has been solid for me. i actually just emailed the game developers yesterday because i thought i had the THD version and realized it was the regular, i was requesting if they could help with switching, which they agreed to do (buy THD and they will refund the regular). but now im having second thoughts after reading this post. i may buy it, see how it plays and return if not as good or better.
i also play Dead Trigger and the graphics and game play are excellent on it as well.
actually, all my games are playing MUCH better after JB update. this is my second tf700 (the first had accidental damage and was replaced via squaretrade) and actually things on this one seem to run pretty good overall.

Hmm that's weird, any idea what the problem might be for me? I've tried to close all tasks with the stock app manager and closed all tasks in the task bar. I play the game but it's annoying as hell when it freezes every 5 seconds. May it that it's a hardware problem? Auralux seems fun to play...if it would work.
I just tried Dead trigger also, and it also tends to lag...don't think it did before JB update though.

So, to be sure, I restarted Auralux... and yes, there are freezes indeed. Maybe not as often as you describe, but freezes nonetheless.
The only thing that has changed between the last time I played Auralux and now is that I upgraded my tablet with the official JB update. I don't know if it's related, or even why it would be.
Maybe someone with a custom JB rom could try the game (it's free) and tell us if he's also facing such freezing issue.

Good luck. Hopefully one of the mods here won't move it to the Q&A forum effectively killing it. I wish that forum didn't exist, the mods have killed several of my threads that had just gotten going in generating some discussion by moving it to the Q&A forum which basically stops the thread cold. That is a write-only forum on this board.

I have the non-THD version and it is awesome. The reviews you saw where it was failing were probably due to ICS NVIDIA driver bug that effectively made the TFs under ICS unable to play 3d games.

Has anyone tried playing Shadowgun THD in cleanrom? Does it make any difference in performance? I know the benchmark scores and general tasking is much faster and less laggy.
I'd just like to say my game runs like a dream. JB + root, nothing else. The rest is stock
Also the multiplayer beta runs just as well. Its a baller ass game

Games on acer a700

Hi together!
Today I tried some HD games on our tablet.
I was trying dead trigger and the dark knight rises, both lagged a lot.
I tried with high performance but didn't help.
How are your experiences with games?
Edit: I just installed cpu master antutu and put scaling on demand. I think it's better now.
Perhaps someone else can try this out and confirm this.

Hi matey,
I've been trying Dead Trigger and that one worked just fine with me. Both saving and performance mode. Dark Knight Rises (and the Amazing Spider-Man) lagged for me too. Can't really tell if this is a hardware or software limitation. Wild Blood (also a Gameloft game) lagged for me too but then after an update that was solved. I installed Modern Combat 4, which lags a little too. Especially in the cutscenes.
That's why I'm going to try out the app you mentioned, let's see if that fixes some things. Thanks for that.
I'm really hoping Vorbeth (awesome person) is able to overclock the processor (CPU). He's already done overclocking the GPU. I think after he succeeds overclocking the CPU, things are going a lot smoother.
The problem is not the CPU. on High performance, the cpu score is even better than on the Nexus 7.
The problem that causes the lags is the high display resolution since the tegra 3 is only designed to run fluently in 1280x800.
Vorbeth's custom Kernel to overclock the GPU helps a little. But I think the bottleneck is the vram speed since the framebuffer on the A700 is bigger than on other tablets.

Can you elaborate on the vram? I'm not familair with that, really.
The TEGRA 3 isn't specifically designed for that resultion. Optimized seems more applicable, since the CPU just processes the stuff. Overclocking would in theory process even more stuff, so that will include data from the GPU to the display, I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Edit:
I've installed AnTuTu Cpu Master, but what is "Go MaxSpeed Load"? It's default value is 85,

The vram is shared on the main ram which is DDR2 only on the A510/A700.
All other Tegra 3 tablets have DDR3 that should bring a bit more performance.
The A700 is basically based on the A510. The only difference is the display.
So the Asus TF700 should bring a better performance at the same CPU speed due to a faster RAM type.

In my experience, When A700 is 4.04 Dead trigger is fxxking lag.

But A700 is using full HD screen... not every game optimized for this resolution...

mmmm,
wondering if we can lower the resolution to say 720p.... just a thought
I already had this thought since I got the A700.
It would be nice if it's possible to change the output resolution to 1280x800 that it gets upscaled to 1920x1200.
I have read up about changing the resolution on android and the key might be the kernel start parameters in the bootloader.
but also patching the display driver could do it.
If we change the kernel, there is no way back, only flashing the original kernel.
I think the best way is to wait and hope that the game developers come up with some solution, hopefully.
When I bought the HTC one x, the situation was similar. There were only a few games working. And now, all of the HD games work.

I really doubt that the game developers will come with a solution for FullHD tablets, especially not gameloft since they care ****-all about the A700 or the Tegra 3 itself.

The One X got supported as it was HTC's Flagship phone, selling quite well, Full HD Tablets don't sell so well, so they won't even invest the ££ needed to support the lesser known tablets.
They may support Full HD for the nexus 10, but thats not a Tegra device

i'm also on JB, i play dark knight fluently. However amazing spider man lags big time, too bad i liked the game and my son also..
I've flashed that GPU kernel maybe that solves dark knight.
I'm on JB (RV18RC01_EMEA_FR, build 1.052) and the games you talk (expect spiderman wich I don't have) run smoothly on my tablet.
Some games received an update that solve lag but Acer make the system better and better.
One game lag for me it's NFS most wanted. It is playable but the car seem to run slowly.
I regret that some big developer (Game Loft is the perfect example) don't support HD tablet and their games don't appear on Play Store.
But if this game are downloaded with a supported device (my Xperia S) and loaded on tab they work perfectly (Nova 3).

with Iconian 2.4 they do appear on the playstore, but Nova 3 is still unplayable slow.
Perhaps because I buy Nova 3 directly from Game Loft.
