Yes still crashes, and I think that devs have given-up on iit for now
Good news is that phone screen sharing works. Perhaps we'll make do with it for now until a breakthrough comes.

Samsung have updated the app preventing again uses without a Samsung computer, now they adds a new lib and a two check more,
so i just disable autoupdate, and bypass this checks.
To continue using PhoneScreenSharing just have to replace the current exe at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Side Sync\PSS\PhoneScreenSharing.exe
With the new one, http://goo.gl/FFSNZ
Im still waiting a new update for sidesync that works with a Samsung computer to bypass it and finally gets a wild one version running under any kind of computer.
Blame u Samsung!

Great! This works pretty well. No longer have to fear future updates from Samsung. If there is any significant change in future updates, we'll get them from this thread.
I hope the breakthru for the sidesync happens faster than we expect.

Is there a possibility that this could be ported as a Chrome OS packaged app or extension??? I would love this to work on my lovely and functionally limited chromebook )

I tried installing it on Windows 8. When I start sydesync, I get error message computers model or operating system is not supported.

Is there anyone, who successfully tried Side Sync (Screen sharing works for me)? Even my Galaxy S4 is not able to work, PC app SideSync doesn't see my phone

You have to crack it, more in this thread on page 1

I replaced the original PhoneScreenSharing.exe file with the one provided in the first post of this thread, and I get the attached error message when launching the "Phone Screen Sharing" app.
This is on a French Windows 7 workstation.
When launching the original one, it "works", but I get the "no response from auth server" error...
K.

SideSync Apk updated but still crashing.

Had high hopes when I saw the update in the Apps store only to be disappointed again by force-closures.
I think it is deliberate, there may be something in the pc application that triggers this, since we all are using non-Samsung laptops.

Problem parsing package

In trying to install the YouTube apk on my android tablet. There's a pre loaded YouTube app on it but I think its causing a problem. Every time I try to install it it says ' there was a problem parsing the package'. Can someone help?

Come on guys, this is preety general for an android problem. At least one person should have replied by now.

Do you have the logcat of what the Package Manager said?
That error is usually caused when the download isn't complete, I.e. the file is not proper...
That said, if you were sideloading the app, and you believe that you have the complete file (.apk), then you can uninstall the original app, and place the new app in system/app, give appropriate permissions and reboot...
You need root acces for the abobe, and the method in general is referred to as the root explorer method...
Sent from my GT S5670 using xda free, (coz the premium keeps force closing :banghead: )
So I need to give it root access and then try to install the apk again but in the system app section? And to add there is this app on there called "video player" it basically functions like the Google YouTube app but not as good. But sometimes when I go to see the not-yet-installed YouTube apk on my SD card it has the "video player" icon. I don't have any problem with sideloading any other apk on there so could that be the problem?

Generic youtube app provided by manufacturer causing OFFICIAL one to never install. *simplified*
How old is the atrix? Sounds strange if you cant even install google books. Maybe that could be a problem with the phone, not just older software.

Cydia's winterboard on galaxy tab 2(gt-p3113)

I'm not sure if this tablet isn't compatible or maybe I did something wrong try this out and tell me if it works if it doesn't can you tell me what your problem is thanks. To get cydia substrate u must first b rooted then go into the play store type in "cydia" and and look for an app called "cydia substrate"devolped by sauritik LLC press install then when it opens the installer press the reboot button. When your device Boots up again open cydia substrate if or having trouble finding it check for it to be named "substrate" open extension gallery and you SHOULD see winter board under featured apps. The problem I'm having is it doesn't say that it says something bout stock browser. If it works plz tell me what u did if it doesn't plz post ur problem

Yeah, says the same thing for me with both Sammy stock, and stock browser on jellybam.
Edit: what i did was just download the winterboard app from the play store , then restarted the "zygote"/launcher. It then said " that i don't have any compatible themes installed". I'm not sure what themes are used, and really do not see the point of this service in it's current state.

Doesnt work for me. It pops up the cmd prompt really fast with blue text and I cant read what it says causes it shuts down real quick.
D: is my Windows installed drive.
C: is my data drive.
I looked in the root of D: and adb-tools is not there.
I have XP home sp3.
I also looked at my environment variable and it isnt there either.
Plus, I want to ask how your tool handles people that don't have a C: drive? (Why not use the systemroot variable instead?)
I also want to know if I can integrate this into the tool in my signature once this thing works for me?

Oh I didn't script it for use on Win XP sorry my bad (That's why in Tittle say Win 7-8 )
But is supposed to work there too. You have issues with your command prompt I've seen this before. You need to fix it going into Microsoft site or Google for it. Then try again.

[Fix] NA1/NA5_Work around to enable installation of non-market apps and disable googl

Hello Users/Readers:
I'm just your average Falsh-o-holic, who combs through all of the S4 threads to find what's been accomplished/useful information. I have not come across this work around, so I decided to post this info users of the NA1/NA5 Roms who cannot access the Security, settings option.
Disclaimer:
Use this info at your own risk. I am not responsible if this breaks your device.
I am posting this info using my XDA app. I also did this without the need of a PC. Please do not ask for links. Everything I used can be found on this web site, play store or google, except for the kernel. I'll try to be specific. Feel free to add links if you want to help other Users.
My Phone/ROM info:
Confimed working on an US AT&T SGH-I337 S4. I believe this will work on all S4 models. I currently am running Echo Rom v14 (NA5), with old bootloader and wifi working kernel (had to flash the loki doki.zip as well, which can be found all over the AT&T S4 thread).
Links of this kernel have sadly been removed.
I also use the AT&T MK2 modem - I intitially got 4G speed/icon.
I had to preform a few adjustments to the build prop and created a new PTA apn to achieve a stronger LTE connection.
I flahed the Att CSC fix zip (Can be found on the Virgin Rom thread in the OP.) as well.
Tools needed for this permission edit:
SQLite Editor or similar app.
I used SQLite Editor v2.0.1
Solution:
1) Using SQLite editor (in the apps menu) I scrolled down to the Settings Storage app and selected it/pressed it.
2) On the next screen I selected/pressed on the settings.db option.
3) Find the line that reads - install_non_market apps (line 19 for me) and press on it/select it. Then select the edit option (pencil icon top of the screen).
4) Change the value from 0 to 1 and save.
5) In the same menu, navigate to the line that reads - package_verifier_enable (line 86 for me) and change the value from 1 to 0 and save.
Last - Reboot your device and enjoy installing apks from your external/internal storage cards, xposed app, etc., without access to the Security settings option.
Please do not make any other changes because you can possibly harm your device.
These 2 simple edits will stop the current FC's we experience when trying to install and app without using the play store and disable the annoying pop-up thak asks if you want google to check for harmful blah, blah, blah. Will work even if you've pressed OK already, which I did my mistake.
Again feel free to post links to assist other Users. I Hope this helps everyone with old (4.3) bootloaders who cannot access these setting.

I would love to but do not have the proper hardware to do so. I have laptop running with an AMD64 processor, but it came installed with Vista,32 bit. I also have a desktop with Windows 8,32 bit. From what I've read a PC running a 64 bit OS is necessary. Let me know if there is some I can do with my equipment. I've never tried to build because of this but would do so if I could.

You wouldnt even have to build it my friend
You grab the build one (i.e. v14) and you make it so that Americans (which i have soooo many friends i want them to be happy) can use it
Thats all
No need to cook it from scratch! You will be grabbing the latest Echoe everytime
No pressure my friend at all!!
I thought it would be awesome way especially for Americans to be on the 4.4.2
And there is no way i could do it and fully support another thread....
No hurry!! We can talk any details you want my man!!
I was impressed about your discovery here!! I love to see this kind of thinking!! Thats what got me to discover the"wifi trick" for the 4.3... Thinking completely paradoxically and "outside of the box"

Great find. I had already changed build prop to att and did a dirty flash to get most of my app installed but this will allow those that didn't to work. It makes the Echoe a truly workable Rom for ATT users and a DD candidate. I agree with Friedrich420 this is what the forums are about,
Edit: Tried this and still have a problem with downloading some apps. Get a pop up "can't store internal storage or sd card"
Hmm. Just tried "sqlite editor pro free" and when I got to settings.db to open it, it gives me "an error occurred while opening the database". Rebooted to make sure everything was settled, but still no luck. Went to buy the $2.99 version of sqlite editor, but it couldn't install onto either my sd card or internal memory. Might be the rom, but this leads to the whole point of needing the work around. Maybe a lost cause.

I had fc too. But that's because it needs root access the request didn't appear straight away. After restarted su request finally popped up then it worked.

In build.pro change false for true in the line: "ro.securestorage.support=false" and in the platform.xml in system/etc/permisions look for:
<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
<group gid="sdcard_r" />
<group gid="sdcard_rw" />
and add:
<group gid="media_rw" />

work for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixo.sqlitedbeditor
Great work! Eagerly awaiting a zip to flash that will allow Echoe to work flawlessly on I337. GE works great but currently has no real competition and for some reason the Galaxy Gear weather will not work with it so looking to get Echoe working.

Just thinking this could be posted in AT&T like GE rom where you have a zip that changes the 4g icon, build prop and security setting in 1 zip to make it AT&T. What WIFI issues? do they exist on MLD bb?

Andromeda desktop client

Hi,
I am trying to load your theme suite. I followed the instructions to a tee on both my Mac running version OS 10.13.3 and my galaxy s8 plus running oreo. Please see screenshot for the messages that I am receiving on my phone when trying to connect to the Andromeda desktop client. I have USB debugging enabled and also loaded android file transfer as well.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric

Do you have any screen overlays? Like the Twilight app? It won't let you accept the USB debugging because an app is overlayed on the screen.

Hi, I have a theme loaded from galaxy app store that I paid for. Is it possible this is stopping the USB debugging? If so, should I revert back to my original theme and try again? Thanks

Possibly. It's worth a try. The USB debugging dialogue is protected and you can't press it if their are any overlays for security reasons.

Anything else causing an overlay? Twilight screen dimming app? Facebook Messenger maybe? Anything that puts something overtop of all your other apps can cause this. In android 8 search for display over other apps to see what apps have permission and could be causing this.

Java Error - JNI error occurred
Ran Windows script. Got the 'green' box.
Run the Java client and get a Java Error - 'A JNI error occurred, please check your installation and try again.'.
Nothing wrong with my current installation of Java. Never get any Java errors on anything else.
Using Moto X4, Stock ROM (8.0.0), unrooted.
What's the fix?
