Hello All,
When I got my Note 10.1 a couple of months ago, it had the stock android version. I checked for software update but it wasn't showing any so I downloaded the samsung german 4.1.2 rom and installed via Odin. Before the update my baseband was N8000XXALI3 and after it became N8000XXCLL1. All went well, but now when I try to check for updates I get a "PROCESSING FAILED" error. I know that it's because the german rom is not officially released for my tablet.
I'm kinda new at Android so please bear with me
How do I know the area of origin of my tablet? I understand I have to flash it with an official rom made for its region. How do I know for sure which one it is?
Thank you kindly, and sorry if this was answered before, but I searched and I couldn't find simple explanations.

You have not got the original firmware so codes don't match .

What did you buy did you not note original details .

Not true .
Restore your saved original firmware or try .

Hi this is my first post.
I decided to write because I can't find any solution.
I have a samsung galaxy 3 which is not rooted. I am trying to update the firmware through samsung kies. As you can see from the picture below I have thelatest version of kies installed
The problem is that I always receive the same message
"This version of tthe device cannot be updated"
You can also see the attached picture
Can you please tell me if I am doing something wrong or if the version of the firmware is somehow locked?
Thank you in advance!!!!!

Hi...checked out the answers and they don't seem to answer my question, so here goes....i have a 7.7 galaxy tab purchased in UK but now in Saudi Arabia...it's running Android 3.2...i've been told, if i was still in the UK it would have upgraded by now to ICS but as i'm not i have to upgrade via Kies...i downloaded Kies to my laptop and awaited for the ICS install package but couldn't find it. I tried looking for updates but it says i have the latest....is there anything else i can do to get ICS.....i guess when i return to the UK it may upgrade...i don't know but there must be a way now....thanks for all your help...from a newbie...Mike
the ICS update for UK is not release... yet... so if you are waiting for the official UK firmware... you need to wait more... currently there is Austria,HK,India,China and Asia release.

Never been a real fan of Kies. Mobil ODIN is the way I have found to be almost "idiot-proof". Actually it almost won't let you do bad things like re-partition! Has Everroot so you can flash and inject root saving re-rooting.
Actually you need not wait from region-specific firmware. I flashed the Austrian ICS firmware and it runs beautifully!

What is this Odin...will it mess with my o/s...i like my tab the way it is....what does Odin do? Can someone explain please...thanks..Mike
Mike..Odin is a program that you use to 'flash' your software (HC, ICS) up-grades yourself, instead of waiting for the OTA (over the air) or via Kies.
There's PC Odin which is a windows based PC program and there's Mobile Odin which installs to your phone via Google Play Store.
You say that you are happy with your tab just the way it is...??..??
If so... then dont worry about up-dating your tabs software.
good luck...

Hi,
I had purchased a Galaxy Tab 7.7 in Singapore and I have been using it in India ever since. I have been hearing that the official ICS is out and is available through KIES, but I have tried several times and it still shows Gingerbread as the latest firmware available. Also contacted Samsung support but they are unable to help . Please suggest what do I do ?
Cheers

Check samfirmware.com The available ICS ROMs are there.
HTH
Hey Guys,
yesterday I needed to unbrick my device. I took the uploaded stock from this thread . It's an US stock 4.2.2 firmware but I got a huge update via Kies after flashing. And now guess! Yeah I'm on absolutely official KitKat 4.4.2 . I'm from germany and tested one another right before matching to my location, just to check but it's not available here (yet).
Yeah Its out for a while
@NeoPreacher & @LegendSmoker
It is true KK is an old story. But still I find interesting what NeoPreacher is saying.
One he may be telling others that even when you could be in a region without an update yet that if you install a US/Canada version you can get the Kies upgrade. Now this is not that important to me.
But I am understanding that when he said "I needed to unbrick my device" that he has some sort of a MOD Rom! Is this true? So then I find interesting that by uploading the file he mention he got Kies to upgrade him. I was in the confusion that once you mod your firmware you could not get OTA nor Kies to upgrade you. So @neopreache could you confirmed that you had tested any of the posted Roms here or had Custom Recovery or Roorted your device previous of recovering with kies? Thanks
Yes I tested some other stuff posted in dev section. But I did something very wrong so I needed Odin to unbrick.I own my tab just for a few days, so it was more a playing around than knowing what to do.I often read about an unstable 4.2.2 stock, so I thought it might be interesting for people in regions out of north America to see that there is another possibility to stay on official stock and get an update for their machines.
Hello
I was wondering if the Roms available on SamMobile were really safe and clean? Given they're not working FOR Samsung, where do they get those?
I'm wondering because I noticed there was a link that came with my phone originally that wasn't there when I restored a ROM I took from SamMobile.
Thank you!

I flashed many devices with odin and firmware downloaded from SamMobile.com and i never had any problems with it. The provided firmwares are not modified and seem to be 100% official versions.
No need to worry about sammobile as it is safe and clean.
It is all in one resource for Samsung stock roms. I used so many roms for different models from there and never faced any issues.
Can you please describe which link you got additional ??

Nothing important really but there was a link to my carrier's mobile site and SamMobile listed the ROM with the name of my carrier. So I thought it had been modified. But maybe it's just because it's the same version as the one my carrier offers but doesn't come FROM my carrier?

No it's not official, I read somewhere they were named Samsung Firmware before they had to change to Sam Firmware at Samsung's request (before they were named SamMobile). I can't find where I read this though.

You're probably right, but one thing you can be sure that sammobile is a safe site....
Alright thanks everyone!
Not official, but safe. They make their money by subscription services for "premium" download privileges. Maybe ads too, but I use adblock, so I wouldn't see them.
Yes me too. But I do wonder where they get all those ROM since Samsung doesn't give the out.

Sammobile updates Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 LTE
Hello,
Next newbie here
Could somebody senior please help me? I am wondering about official updates from Samsung for ROMs downloaded from sammobile, are they possible?
I've just installed Kitkat 4.4.2 on my beloved Note 3 after few days of using Darkera's Note 7 ROM when I'm tapping on "Update" in "Software Update" menu I get "Processing failed" message. Overall phone's responsiveness isn't that great, that's why I wanted to see if update is available.
Will appreciate any answers

You can't do stock updates on rooted devices with custom ROMs and custom recovery.
You have to remove root, you also need to have an UNMODIFIED system partition and you need stock recovery.
If you're using a custom ROM(your note 7 ROM is a ported stock custom ROM) then that means you are rooted and probably have custom recovery which means you need to remove root and undo any system modifications that were done in the custom ROM(including any special themes and Xposed) then flash stock recovery instead of custom recovery.
Then you might be able to do the updates but the system will be looking for your device to have straight stock with no modification, if there is any modification left behind then the update won't work.

Hi!
Thank you for your message.
Here is the list of things I did to my poor note 3 :
- rooted
- installed Darkera's note 7 rom, custom recovery and kernel downloaded also from Darkera
- unrooted with supersu
- using Odin3 I installed kitkat 4.4.2 which I downloaded from sammobile (I was told this process gonna whipe away everything - custom rom, custom recovery and kernel)
- downloaded supersu to make sure root is gone
Because of sammobile's server maintenance happening this weekend I used kitkat file I downloaded from sammobile quite some time ago (N9005XXUEND3_N9005XEOEND2_XEO for Poland) and during flashing everything went ok. But now when I go to 'settings' and 'about device' imei, modem version, baseband version are unknown and when I try to hit 'update' I get "processing failed' message. Oh, and I'm also experiencing random reboots. I'm not sure if all this is a normal thing or perhaps I did something wrong.
I hope I didn't bore you to sleep
