For you to test battery i'd completely charge for an hour past 100% and while off and turn on and drain it however and till it actually dies out or very close to it. then re charge back up to 100% again and next cycle should be plenty better, im sure you know that, but just saying.
In attachments is from Nightly 45 1st pic is with airplane mode for about 5 hours or so, forgot to take pic of other screen that day
So we went back down from RC0 to Beta?

never were in the RC0 stage we were never in alpha nor beta kind of confusing i know? but even though it was pretty much stable it wasn't 99-100% stable so no RC was ever released to the best of my knowledge of that case

I'm not going to argue about what version it was, but I'm just curious. That's all.
Technically, 7.2.0-RC0 was the full Cyanogenmod version. This is the beta 1 for the Epic, with CM7.2.0-RC1, I think.
So yes, its slightly confusing

I remember having so much trouble using an alternative kernel. I had to do this.
Flash cm9, gapps, samurai kernel. Boot.
Go back into cwm flash cm9 and kernel. Boot
Then one more time I went back into cwm and flashed the gapps.
Then I could install apps and everything would work . Now I remember how much a pain in arse this ROM was with another kernel.

I think that was him having to hit the stop sign before learning to stop lol. What I mean is, he forgot to flash gapps the first 2 times and now he knows that he needs to flash the gapps after the rom in order for everything to work right lol

Quick Update On Battery!
Running On Samurai Tanto @ 100/1000 VR | Conservative w/UV. About medium brightness, no airplane mode probably would give me another hour or two on overall battery life and and probably another hour for screen on time.
I thought I could do much better but I guess if you drag it out with various usage all day it would last longer I got another screenie from 2 days ago I believe and got 4 Hours of screen on time but around a day for overall battery life and that was on Nightly 45 though

Okay so I'm soo lost and confused.. all I'm trying to figure out is is this rom and update to nightly 45 or is it a whole different thing? Does it work better than nightly 45 or is it kinda like a restart and has bugs again?

very few bugs its an upgrade from Nightly 45 because it has some of the CM9 bugs worked out but fixed in here like audio issues, ringing of death, sd card ringtone fix as well

Hello. I recently purchased a SIII from eBay and got it activated today. The first time they booted it up at the Verizon store I noticed what I thought was an unlock icon towards the bottom of the screen (which I am no longer seeing).
Once the phone was activated it performed a system update to the latest OS release. Now that I have got the phone home it keeps randomly rebooting and then it will get stuck in a boot loop. I pull the battery, it will boot as normal, and then it will randomly reboot again. I have performed a factory reset/data wipe but that did not help.
I did search a bit on here but didn't see anything similar to what I'm experiencing. Any ideas on what my issue is? Thanks in advance for your help.
My GS3 randomly reboots too, I am running SynergyROM with ziggys kernel, seems like a lot of people have problems with this phone.

Have to agree. Sure there might be a couple people that have had problems, but the overwhelming majority of people are quite pleased with their handsets.
Sounds like the phone was rooted. If it had a custom rom and you took the ota verizon update, that could cause problems.

Would serve well to save above link.
If you want to stay on stock rom, follow instructions on section #6.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I followed step #6 from the link you provided and the phone has been up for over an hour without rebooting. So far so good!
Well I spoke to soon. It just rebooted again. I'm starting to think that it must be hardware issue. I guess I should go back to the seller to see if they'll take the phone back..... :-/
I just loaded the latest OTA and it seemed to make the random reboots more frequent.
When you say "loaded" are you just flashing a stock ROM or did you Odin back to stock?

I did the ODIN back to stock (using the ROM that was in step #6 of the above link). After that booted the phone up and it indicated there was an OTA available. I downloaded that (about 30 Mb); performed the update; and then the phone seemed to start the random reboots more frequently.

I didn't mean that everybody has problems when I said a lot and maybe it isn't "a lot" but I have seen numerous people posting on here about there problems whether its random reboots or screen flashing/flickering or w/e it may be and not just here I know a few people with this phone (my wife, father, brother, mother in law, and myself.) And I have had 2 problems with this phone, random reboots and WiFi never wants to connect and my wife has the sim card issue, my dads phone has problems with screen and WiFi, idk what the deal is. That's 3 phones out of 5 that has problems and idk if the sim card issue even counts but still.
I'm not saying this is a bad phone or anything, other than these issues it has been a great phone the best phone I have ever owned.

ok i am running orthous six right now and i like it, i never tried any ics roms but i read somewhere that there are a couple out there with great battery life. i want a rom with really good battery life . i dont play games at all on my skyrocket at all and i surf the web occasionally. i do text alot and use the phone for my contact list big time. which rom best suits those needs, good battery life and good internet connection from both wi-fi and signal, my area doesnt have 4g yet but i do get hsdpa+ or whatever. just curious to see what is out there. i put liquid smooth on there and had a few little bugs. oh and i need 1 that doesnt have to have 4 or 5 different things to install ,modems, kernals and all that stuff are beyond me.
You either need to stay stock or do some more reading and learn about custom mods.

Embryo 5.4
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
this sounds a preferred ROM thread lol but anyways i would say to try with embryo might fit best based off your needs but you need to start flashing the roms on your own to determine the best for you. but JB may not be the best option becasue there is limited access since we dont have an official yet
thats more or less the answer i was looking for , i want to use that embryo rom but when i was reading it i sort of got confused when it said choose your modem for radio and all that stuff . maybe putting in your apn and all that. if it just a simple wipe 3times factory reset, update ,flash gapps its cool ,but all that other jazz is confusing. i looked at my phone info and it dont show my modem it says baseband version unknown.
your not gonna get every answer you want that not the point of the question if you not that comfortable doing this stuf then stay stokc or learn to Rom

Hey Guys,
I rooted my phone last night, tested out CM10, and then restored my original stock backup just so I could have everything fully functioning for today. As of now, I am still rooted with CWM touch as my recovery. I am not getting cell service. I have done a battery pull and gone in and out of airplane mode. But still no luck. One thing, when I loaded CM10 stable, this "Activating" screen came up on first boot, and would'nt go away, so I did a battery pull, and just restored. I hope that didn't reprovision my phone and do something stupid. Any help would be appreciated. If not, I am about to go full stock restore, and call Verizon crying (from a working phone.)
Update* - I am getting random incoming text messages. But I can't respond or make outgoing calls. Also, in phone info, I have an IMEI # (or whatever), but it shows mobile data as disconnected (proabbly b\c I am on wifi).
P.S - Thread search tools are not available. So don't yell at me.
The search never works for me. Give this read. I don't rum CM or know if this will even help your situation.

Thank you so much!! Step two worked for me perfectly. No more flashing nightlies. Ever.
Note* - I actually flashed 10.1 first, you know, because it makes perfect sense to flash an unstable build BEFORE testing your phone with a stable one (idiot move on my part). I then flashed stable 10.0, but it was too late. This is my first sim card phone, all my android devices over the past 5 years have been on sprint, and have been HTC. Steep learning curve on my part. But now I know. Thank you guys for you quick help.
There's a lot to learn, glag it works.
Just make sure you back up your imei and never flash a rom that's not made for the Verizon gs3.

Easiest to flash Synergy and it will make a flashable IEMI backup on initial flash.
Probably one of the noobist questions to start off with but I need the answer or pointed in the right direction if at all possible, many many thanks in advance.
As you can see by the tittle i already have my galaxy tab 2 7.0 rooted (3113) and totally blanked on rooting with cwm. So how can I do it without having to restart the root process all over again?
Again much thanks is given for all help.
I used mobile Odin to flash the cwm zip back. That worked for me.

No you don't have to start the root process over again. I am assuming your stock rooted?

You can go for CM10.1..But I personally like stock..So rooted with unbloated Stock.
I kept reading that stock is best still for maintaining gaming levels (gaming usually pushes a system to its limits more so that anything else). I only just got my sgt2 so im in no rush. Yet

From what I've read IR Blaster is only working on select ROMs. Dunno if that's important to you.
