I have been using my tab 2 on 3g for 3 months and today ..error message saying insert sim card?
Sim card is inserted, took it out cleaned it with a dry clean cloth, re booted, inserted still saying No sim card inserted?
Tried it several times rebooting but still not reading the sim card?

My Samsung Galaxy S I9000M (Canadian version, but pretty much same as I9000) all of a certain won't recognize the SIM card.
I've read pretty much every post here and on google wrt SIM card not being recognized, tried factory reset, flashed many different ROMs/modems and no luck.
I'm suspicious that the SIM card slot is damaged, as other SIM cards were also not recognized by the phone. Its possible, since I use a micro SIM card adaptor to fit in a micro SIM card into the regular sized slot.
Before I take it to a store, I'd like to ask one of you kind souls to compare the pic of my SIM card slot to your phone and see if there is a gold pin in the middle thats missing on my phone. I see 5 gold pins with no gold pin in the middle at the top of the slot -- should there be one there? (i.e. should there be six pins?)

Just to update in case anyone else had the same question:
Yes, there was a pin missing, and the whole SIM card tray had to be replaced.
The last 2 months i have a problem. Sometimes the phone (i9023) loses the reception and a pop-up message appears that says "network unavailable" or "sim card removed". In both cases it asks me to make a restart. This happens with all the roms/kernels i have flashed and with all sim cards i have tested. So, it is not rom/kernel or sim card issue. The sim tray is obviously not woking well.
I have tried to find a sim card tray(reciever) to buy, but i can only find for i9020.
So, my question is this: is the sim card tray for i9020 compatible with i9023?
I got my htc mini a few days ago. worked fine, and then it started to have no signal but data worked. so i got i new sim card from my carrier and all worked for a day.then the same thing happend. and the first sim card was micro sim card and the second was a nano simcard with adapter to micro sim.
I have trayd to put my phone back to factory settings, searched manually for network, trayd to remove and install the sim countless times with no luck. the sim card is trayd in another phone and it dosen't work there neither. and the phone is not rooted or anything like that
So i was wondring if it can be the phone that destroys the sim cards or maby i am unlucky with sim card?

Sometime two times per day I got this message: Sim card hot plug alert. In this time SIM 1 is disabled. I see that phone do not see the card. SIM car do not work. After restart everythng work well. Phone is nearly new and I have this problem all the time. It is bad because sometime I dont see this and I am not available on SIM 1. Sim card is new 4G and I had a same problem with old SIM card. Even if phone is on the table this heppend. I put tape on sim card to make better contact but is the same. No efect. Anyone know what is problem?
Always No SIM in my mate 9.
I tried to change sim from slot 1 to slot 2 and 2 to 1 still showing No Sim.
I restarted and factory reset and then inserted the sim still showing No Sim.
I inserted new sim still showing No Sim.
Please I need your support to resolve the issues.
