If you find the SPIGEN SGP Ultra Armor case too bulky, definitely take a look at the SPIGEN SGP Neo Hybrid. Like the Ultra Armor, the Neo Hybrid features TPU and poly-carbonate layers. Where the cases differ the most is the outer hard layer. While the Slim Armor features a hard mid-shell, the Neo Hybrid's hard plastic is located on the edges of the case. Consider the Neo Hybrid as a TPU bumper case mix. Although the lip isn't very high, it is an excellent case for those looking for a slim, full protection case. Available in five color themes, you shouldn't have a problem finding one that suits your taste. The only downside to this case is its price tag. At $29.99, it is one of the more expensive cases we have reviewed. But, for that price you get an extremely well designed hybrid case that is built to last.
Enjoy
To eliminate the risk of snapping the outer ring, Spigen advises that you do not install or remove the the TPU layer and the frame separately. When installing or removing your phone, treat the case as one piece.
its a 30 dollar tpu case with a plastic outer bezel..
give me a break seriously
I've got the case now four about 3 days and did nothing strange with is but already the plastic ring is broken at the micro usb side so not really good quality you would aspect four dis price. If they just made the outer ring from metal it would be better.
Looks like a nice case and fits very well and feels solid if its around the phone.
The micro usb port cut out is to small to fit most other micro usb cables but standard.
The headphone jack is the same problem. out of 5 stars i would give it no more than 2.
My advise do not by this one its not word the money.
Can you guys get the ir blaster working with the case?
Edit: figured out my problem. Had wrong room on watch on

I have one major problem and one minor problem with this case.
Minor: slightly slippery.
Major: buttons can be easily accidentally pushed. Accidentally turned the phone on/off many, many times along with changing volume.
How do you remedy that? I have the bezel off (with just the TPU case on) at the moment to make it less slippery and buttons are harder for accidental push.
on sale for 20$ worth it all the way
I have one and absolutely love it! its a well made and high quality case, I switch batteries about once a day and therefore I remove the case on a daily basis and it has held fine, not sure how anyone is breaking the outer band, I mean handle it with a little care and itll last a long time, hell I had two $6 fake Spigen cases for my S3 and they even held up fine. this is nicely made case and worth the money, imo one of the best looking cases available
What's its weight?
I find many reviews lacking one key data - case weight. Personally I only use light-weight case. I used bulky cases such as otterbox and hate those (even though they offer great protection).
I got one of these 2yr ago for my iPhone 4S: Crap
I got one for my s4 last week: Crap
Keep away this case, its beautiful, stylish, etc...
BUT THAT *&ˆ%* BAND ITS A CRAP, I've broken 4 of these Bands (3 on my iPhone, 1 on the s. IV) EVER NEAR the USB Connector.
When on the iPhone bands lasted 6-8 weeks, on the s4 only resisted 1 WEEK.
SGP must to pay attention to this WELL KNOWN ISSUE.
Now I Reconsidered the SGP Slim Armor View amid my experience with this crap.
^^^what is it youre doing when the bands break? are you removing/installing the band by itself and putting it back on while the phone is in the tpu? I honestly dont know how you guys are breaking these things, sorry but seems like user error to me.......
This is a sick case. I have it myself. Love it.

maybe handle with care when removing and/or putting on the case in the future, I remove and put my Spigen on once a day with no issues, dont blame Spigen because you dont know how to handle something with a little touch, and sorry but Spigen cases are not the most expensive maybe you should invest in one of those bulky ugly ass otterbox cases

Scott, this is supposed to be a case to protect the phone. It should have good durability.
What good is "little touch" with a case that's supposed to protect the phone. Having it break from daily wear and tear is pretty bad. It should have been QAed against this type of issue.
If the problem is as common as people say, then it's a design flaw that didn't take into account the consumer's use. It's not the consumers misuse. It's poor design and implementation in light of daily stresses.
The only other option is buying those 5 dollar replacements from ebay that are knockoff bands.
For those who have broken the case, did you actually buy it from spigen or an amazon retailer? Im asking because they could be knockoffs, $23 for a neo hybrid sounds like a fake to me when they sell it for $30 from the actual distributor.
My case is built like a rock, that thing is very durable.

Mine also broke at the micro usb side.... I really like the case but the pastic frame is a joke and yes I paid $30 from Spigen and it broke in about a month or so. I never dropped or removed the case once installed so this is bull****! I ordered another frame for $11.00 and once this one cracks, cause I know it will. It's time for a new case.

hi all.
can any one suggest a supplier for a Desire S gel/silicon skin/ case similar to the ones for the HTC Wildfire (https://www.amazon.co.uk/EMARTBUY-WILDFIRE-SILICON-COVER-FLORAL/dp/B0043RI9BS/ref=sr_1_21?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1304424909&sr=1-21
Sorry for the long url.
I'm not interested in the "plain gel" cases and I would rather buy new. I'm reasonably happy to use a non-UK supplier so long as they can ship to the UK.
Thanks in advance
I've been surprised and disappointed at how few accessories are available for the Desire S

Have just taken reciept of the otterbox commuter. Took 5 days to ship to UK direct from otterbox and as usual its exceptional quality. Every port has a good flap seal and yet adds no noticable distortion of the design of the phone. Bought it do 35 usd so about 25 gbp

Thanks - ebay to the rescue: case found and bought!
Thanks to everyone who made suggestions.
I finally went for a neat silicone skin on ebay.
Nonetheless it's still frustrating to have to work "so hard" to find accessories for HTC devices.
I know it's not everything but I can't help thinking that Apple have focussed on cultivating a few trusted partners who always seem to release quality (and quantity) accessories whenever a new device is released. It means that generally Apple owners (new and old) can enjoy the whole experience of phone/tablet, case, etc at the same time.
I would suggest that this lends itself to a feeling that the whole world is Apple when they release something.
Here endeth the psalm
UPDATE: Well a little under 1 month after purchase, the gel case is losing shape and barely protecting my phone. Disappointed really - I'd hoped to get a t least 12 months out of the case...
Bought an Otterbox Commuter the other day....can't see a better case for the phone. Classic and perfect fit. Remains to be seen how durable the port covers are tho
The 'Barely there' case is a good price from amazon, but when fitted gives the impression of very little protection!
I got mine from Mobilefun.co.UK: honest price, fast delivery, and looks nice on my DS
Cancelled my order for an Otterbox Commuter from the USA when the seller advised that "Standard Flat-rate International Delivery" meant 7 to 8 weeks! I could doggy-paddle over to the states and back in that time! My boss says I don't have enough holiday left though. Plus it would provide me with too much opportunity to drop the phone (I like outdoor sports/activites) whilst waiting, so I went with the Case-Mate Tough Case. It's what kept my old Desire immaculate for 14 months. Very pleased with it.
It adds a bit of bulk but that's the trade-off isn't it? You want max protection, expect it to add size. The 'Barely There' range of Case-Mate cases are at the other end of the scale. Minimal intrusion on the original design, but only protects the back and corners.
The Tough Case feels very nice to hold and you just stop worrying about dropping it. It also stops the side volume rocker buttons from being easily pressed getting it out your pocket. It is such a pretty phone I take it out the case when at home, and you HAVE to take it out the case when using Google Sat Nav else it overheats. But at least I know if I drop it now, I'll only be worrying what damage I've done to the floor!
hi
http://www.mytrendyphone.com/shop/htc-desire-s-46185p.html
this is what im using now. got it for rs. 550 in bombay. always wanted a chrome.
Ive had a chance to test out a few cases now between me and my wifes Desire S and here's my quick reviews:
Otterbox Commuter Case: Good strong protection for the phone. It's definately overpriced though, and the rubber lip on the bottom can get a bit loose and unsightly. It attracts dust etc like the plague, and the outer hard shell can get easily scratched. Probably the best protection you can buy for the phone, but does bulk it out a bit. It depends on whether you can live with that trade off. You cant use any docks with this case.
Barely There: Very good case for the curent price on Amazon. It hardly adds to the phone atall. I don't fancy dropping the phone from any great height though. Basically, the opposite to the Commuter case. The phone fits perfectly around the ports and the outer case seems almost scratch resistant. Another bonus is ir seems to work with any dock as it adds very little bulk.
Silicone S Case: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-HTC-DESIR...sesPouches&hash=item43a71eb008#ht_1491wt_1141
Bought this on ebay not expecting much for the money, but it's my favourite case. It looks stylish & fits the ports perfectly. It seems to give good protection all around the case and the side grips are a handy feature. Does't fit the dock, but I can live with that.
Hope this helps someone
Z
I can also vouch for the Case Mate Barely There case. Mine arrived today and very impress with how thin the case is. I tend to avoid using cases as they will always result in the phone to be more bulky but the Barely There is very slim profile and has this smooth rubber surface at the back to give you the added grip. Nevertheless the case is so thin it does make me wonder how durable it is…(only time will tell)
It comes with the case, screen protector and screen cloth and selling for £8.99 @ amazon.
I had a cheap silicon one from bay of the e, to me the phone felt big and bulky but rolled with it as my phone was protected. I have just got the barley there (black) from amazon uk an its brilliant (although the reviews do not rate the screen protector as if you take it off it leaves a glue like residue and its tough to get off I got the HTC screen protector which is great) but the case is amazing hardly notice its there.
the only advantage the silicon one had it that my phone would stand up horizontally whilst watching tv/films on the treadmill due to the silicon being rubbery. The barley there case does it to a point. but still my preference it the barley there it feels 1000% better (plus I can (just about) slip the DS with the barley there case on into the silicon case for the treadmill)
Right waffle over.
I should get my Desire S tomorrow but I have already bought a Case Mate tough case for it, it seems like a good product and I will let you know how I get on with it. I am tempted by the Barely There case for when I want something more low-key.
You'll like the tough case. If like me though, it comes with a screen protector that doesn't fit (was for a different phone I think), just email case mate. I posted back the duffer, and they sent me 4 replacements! Bless em.

I brought this case a few weeks ago and I'm amazed to see no one here have talk about it yet.
This case is incredible! i used to own a 3DO Flex but I never became a fan of it, But I kept it because I couldn't find anything with similar grade of protection and a slim profile. Until I found the Ballistic Smooth.
The Ballistic Smooth case is getting very popular among iPhone Users (at least where I live). I saw it for the first time on a co-worker's iPhone and it definitively catched my eye. The case looks Slim while sturdy. The 4 corners are bigger than the rest of the case and have inside a replaceable silicone bumper for added protection.
It comes with 4 set of silicon inserts in different colors. Orange (which is the default installed one) Black, Gray, and Blue. The Blue One plays nicely with my phone since I own the Tmo USA One S (gradient Gray version)
The case is not hard plastic, it feels more like some kind of TPU and has a finish that is very smooth to the touch, it really feels like no other case I have owned (a lot of Otter Boxs, cheap TPU cases, few Body Glove and few 3DO)

If someone want pics taken with my camera I will try to take some later.
Their Website is asking $30 for the Case but I found it on Amazon for $15 + free shipping.
Anybody else here own it?
Just ordered one! That's super cheap, and Ballistic is a great name! Plus, I love having multiple cases for my phones, I can swap them around whenever I want, and it's kind of like having a new phone all the time!
I'm very happy with it's bigger brother, Ballistic SG, it's better than the Otterbox that I have.
Does the smooth pick up much dust/lint?
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One S met Tapatalk
I have the SG as well, love it, but wondered if this wasn't similar to the first layer of the SG with just the corner inserts added.
No Dust / Lint, it also very good dealing with body oils. the case is almost 3 weeks old and it still look like new. I accidentally left the phone fell and the cover worked like a charm.
Got it today, this case is AWESOME. Best one I've tried yet of 4, the others being the Diztronic, the GreatShield, and the Body Glove. This is by far the best. The TPU is VERY heavy-duty, not super flexy and thin like the others. And I LOVE the silicone corners, and the fact that it comes with 3 other colors. The big, raised corners give it a lot more drop protection and peace of mind than any of the others do, and the texture of it feels so much more solid and grippy in my hands, doesn't feel like it's going to slide away on me. The material is a lot darker grey than it looks in the pictures, which I'm actually fine with.
I'm ordering another one of these right now.

tks to the OP as i'm glad to find this thread. i started off with a diztronic thin case then moved on to a no-name 2-pc thick case from ebay. for $15, this case rocks and is stylish to boot. it could use a little more grip imo but still fine just the way it is now. i especially like it paired with the teal corner pads to compliment the gray/teal TMOUS HOS
the case also has a somewhat slim profile so doesn't add much bulk if any.
thanks for the little review! I've been lookin' at cases for awhile and really liked this one when I saw it but didn't get around to ordering one. I have the body glove 2 piece hard plastic case that came with it when my wife and I got the phones from T Mobile but I don't really like it much. I only like to use it at work. my wife has dropped hers and it has protected the phone but the little plastic clips have broken off on the corner it hit on. so the front piece is not very secure anymore.
15 bucks for a quality case is just about a steal. we have a prime membership too so it's even better!

Great thread, caused me to order myself a charcoal grey version last night. I currently use the diztronic matte black and also used an otterbox commuter case (bulkiest and ugliest case for this phone), and when I saw those cyan corner bumpers I had to have this case.
I've bought a handful of cases (about 6 or so) past month, and I gotta say, this one is my favorite. Power button is a bit tough to press, but I like the overall texture of the skin.
My favorite part about this case is that the back of the phone's 4 corners are raised so that the speaker doesn't get muffled when laying on a flat surface.
Being able to chance colors on the 4 corner silicone tips are very much appreciated.
Very nice case but the buttons bug me. I wish they had made the buttons out of silicone as on the Ballistic SG.
Either vapor or someone let the cat out of the bag early.

Its funny how we here on xda are going through cases trying to find the best one to protect our phone but there really hasnt been anyone to step up and make a good protective case. Most of the time they're the small, thin or ones that does not protect the entire phone. There are some out there but the bigger named ones that are known for more rugged cases haven't made one just because it isnt a flagship of a carrier...

I will not buy Otterbox again. They did not make a case for Galaxy SII, and now Nexus 4.
And yet they made/make two for the GNex. Go fig. Maybe they didn't sell as many as they thought they would and are now Nexus gun shy.

I have had a commuter case for every phone I have owned over the years. Over the last few cases I have also bought a ballistic case and the quality is much higher. I will buy the ballistic over Otterbox commuter any day.
My main reason is because the back of the commuter case slides off everything. It has no grip like the ballistic. Additionally the ballistic has edge protection with minimal bulk. Finally the TPU quality is different for both brands. Otterbox is way to soft and allows sand to get in the edges.
Just my two cents from years with both manufacturers.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Meh. A Commuter case would have competition, notably from Ballistic. A Defender case, on the other hand, with its integrated screen protector ... that I would by. If Otterbox doesn't finally decide to produce it in 2014.

I'm just surprised how some of these companies only want to make cases that will make them most profit and they don't know the case demand this phone has just because its not a flagship carrier phone.. I see pieces of plastic go for $10-20 on eBay w/ 700-900 sold and barely protects the phone. Heck I even got the lg bumper and wasnt too satisfied with it so I gave it to my bro and im sure people on here are willing to pay extra for better cases.

how do you like that one? i have the exact armor which is nice except it's a little slippery on the sides.
Both Seidio and Ballistic are in the process of making cases for our devices. I've had ballistic cases for my last 2 Nexii. They work great and look good for a big bulky case. Ive preordered the active case from Seidio and theirs are every bit as high end as otter box. Otter doesn't seem to make as high quality case for devices that aren't iPhone anyway.

It is rather disappointing, but it's not unreadable for a company to want to make a profit. Especially with the supply problems and order uncertainty, it cant be an easy judgement to make on whether the costs of a production run are going to sell well enough.
Hopefully the other robust cases in the works from other manufacturers will be good..
im sure there will be some nice rugged cases for our phone, it seems to always take longer for any android phone maybe except the galaxy S line.
Otterbox is overrated and overpriced imo, i bought the commuter for my Gnex and found it very bulky(even for a dual layer) and the silicone is a huge lint magnet. The plastic shell is also too slippery for me.
i bought this dual layer case in the mean time until something better comes.

Interesting. Have you received it? I don't mean to hijack this Otterbox thread (as useless as Otterbox itself has made it), so have you posted about your impressions about this case you bought in a dedicated thread?

sure, if there's no thread on it by the time i get it(hopefully next week) then ill take some pics and post a short review.
Ballistic is coming soon as well as Seidio active. The seidio can use a holster, and both are just as high quality as otter box. I personally don't like how otter looks and from what I've seen of their android cases, they don't put the effort in with designing them like they do the iPhone.

Well thanks to Otterbox this will be the first device I use without their protection. I was hoping we might see a Trident case, they have a nice design going on their Aegis series cases.
so which is it? spigen is the one i'm going with. i also like the look of the otterbox

Loyal Diztronic user and have my S4 wrapped in one right now. Very sleek.
I have always liked the Incipio Dual Pro cases particularly the button feedback on those. But, it makes the S4 look like a brick.

oh yes ive seen that version of incipio. i like cases with the hard outter shell and the softer rubberized inner shell. thats the reason i bought the slim armor! slimmer, sleeker looking, and still great protection!
When I had my iphone I always used SPG cases so pretty sure I will be getting them again for S4
im a fan of the cheap $3.50 soft rubber cases... i got one on my s3 since last sept. dropped my phone probably 3 times on bare cement from 2-4ft height and not a single scratch on the phone. not to mention no screen protector..

Received the Rearth ringke slim today. Nice materials, but took it off after 5 minutes and put diztronic back on. The s4 looks blacked out with it on and handles better than the Rearth.

I would highly recommend the Incipio DualPro case, or really any of their cases. I have the DualPro and I loved it the moment I pulled it out of the box. Very smooth feel to it, but very sturdy as it comes with a rubber like case that goes on first, and then a hardened case that goes on top of that. It's not bulky like most dual protection cases, it doesn't add a whole lot in weight, can't tell at all honestly. For $29.99, it's a great case for a great phone! If I had to get a case other than the DualPro from them, I would recommend the Frequency case, just a typical TPU case, but also a great product.
I'm obviously new at posting stuff on here, so I can't post a link to their site, just go to incipio.com and I'm sure you guys can figure it out from there
I prefer Trident for my main case. I have one on my S3. It really protects well & looks cool. I'm also giving spigen a shot.

Casemate toughcase. Had it on the SGS2, 3, and 4. Have yet to run into an otterbox guy that didn't switch after comparing. What does that tell you?
I just picked up the Dante Red - Neo Hybrid case by SGP. I think it its a beauty!

Otterbox Black Defender
Got the case yesterday. Absolutely stunning quality. The S4 is easier to hold while using the phone and gaming. Case itself seem to have good fit and it has no potential gaps for dust or dirt sticking between the phone and the case. Also the screen protector is amongst the best there is, it just aligns perfectly and the feel of the screen is pretty much as without it.
The only con for someone would be the size, but for me in need of a case that really protects while on a motorcycle and in the garage, this is it!
I will order the Glacier (White / Gunmetal Gray) version when released also.
I think my choice is pretty obvious, although we sadly are not in your poll
I personally love SGP's screen protectors. However, I've bought their cases numerous times in the past only to be disappointed. They have a very talented CAD guy that makes all their products look specular, but the quality was just not there when I actually got the cases themselves. That said, I have not used their S4 cases yet.
I wonder why they go by SGP if their name is Spigen. Shouldn't it be SPG?

Trident Aegis Cases
I always get these cases as I think they are the best overall quality for protection and its not too bulky like the otterbox. Had on my S2, S3 and just ordered one off amazon for like 19 bucks. Cant beat that! my s2 and s3 are still in mint condition cause of that case!

The same here. I was not a case fan (making slim devices so bulk or useless protections actually) but after my GS3 took a light hit with shattered screen, I found only a hybrid (soft material with hardened shell) case should be the way to go. After a few hours on forums and YT review, I ordered a Tough.
Has a good grip, feels really tough (didn't tried a 200€ crash test though) even if the soft layer collects dust, it's not as bad as silicon shells and the phone don't get stuck to the pocket when you grab it.
Then, still owning my brave & tough S2 (not so easy to break one, what it endured!) and before stock went down, I bought one for it. Nice one.
Then I went for a GS4 and already had its Tough cover when I received it.
Because of the GS4 design, Case Mate had to lessen the lip/edge around the screen and to cut off the hard shell over both side buttons but all is nicely done and never clutter face buttons (as it sometimes happened with S3) nor affects the screen sides touch.
Because of the straight frame, more rectangular GS4 design, I feel it less bulky in the front jean pocket than GS3 one that had to come around the pebble bezel.
Urban Armor Gear w/ Fly Grip on S4 (still fits Smart Dock), rocked the Aegis on my Note 2 prev
I rock the trident kraken ams case. Awesome protection and good price. One of my favorite featured is being ablr to take the kickstand off and put on a windshield mount or the bike mount. They have like 8 diff accessories to attach to the case.

Whats the thinnest case you have found for the S4? I've been looking at various cases, and they are all so thick ( I usually go naked.. ) but I would like to put something over it for drop protection ( so no, skins don't work ). And don't suggest any of the crap offered by SPIGEN, I'm done with that worthless company ( ALL support issues with them ).
ITSkins has the ghost and Zero.3, but neither is available STILL ( they where suppose to be on the 15th ) and you can't pre-order them either....
Everything else i find just says "Thin" or some other wonderful adj, I'd like a number and facts. Thin is subjective....

I have the case mate barely there case. I have to say, it feels so nice in the hand.. Because of the matt finish. Better than any other case I had. And I also had the spigen neo hybrid. The look is also casual. Really like the style.
Here some foto's I just took.
Hope it helps.

i have this tpu case that to me doesnt feel like it adds any weight or thickness to the phone itself. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BYPZU28/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
here are some pics to show you what i mean. notice 2 of these pics you can see how the case works well with the mime ghost glass screen protector. it's also partially see through.
found this on ebay
Clear 0.3mm Ultra Thin Cover Case Screen Guard for Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500
This 0.3 case covers the top and bottom edges too, this will be the thinnest you can find on the market with a full protection. I've one when i'm using my S3, looking for a S4 one and found this.:good:

I agree. It doesn't add anything thickness but HOWEVER, it does add some to the width making the phone feel wider.

After everything I have read about Spigen, I am very hesitant to buy one of their products. The casemate looks pretty nice, but I don't like the openings on the top and bottom. I want a thin/light case, but I want a little bit of fall protection in it.
I've just got this one, loving it so far.

Serious recommendation: I was in the same boat, and didn't think I would find anything I liked. I happened to be browsing at BestBuy while my wife picked out case. I noticed some RocketFish branded cases that look really slim. Asked if I could try one on my phone and it fit like a glove, barely added any size to it, but definitely makes it feel like I'm not going to accidentally fling the phone across the roam just taking it out of my pocket.
I also have the Ringke Rearth ultra slim case - which was not only the thinnest I've seen, but also very cheap!
I keep the Spigen Neo-Hybrid case on my phone though - I had an S3 get nicked up at the bottom where the ultra thin rearth case didn't cover. Outside of the neo-hybrid I think the rearth cases are my favorites - considering I bought one for my S4 immediately and had one for my S3 I'd feel confident suggesting it.
I purchased both the Ringke Rearth Slim and the Spigen Neo Hybrid. While the Spigen looks nice it really does add a lot of width to the phone. The Ringke is easily the slimmest case that I have used for any phone. Not to mention it only cost $2. The matte black has also been great for adding grip. My only complaint is that the Ringke case is very difficult to remove.
I have a Spigen Ultrafit. Its pretty darn thin.
I like the matte finish.
Spigen Ultrafit
Edit: it is just thick enough the effectively recess the buttons to protect them from drops, plus it works with a tempered glass screen protector. AND...its only $10 shipped with Prime.
what is the point of cases that dont cover the top and bottom? my dad's s3 has one of those and it got destroyed on the bottom from a small drop

It would have to hit a very uneven surface...the corners are protected. You would have to drop in on gravel or a curb or something like a car door sill. If you drop in on tile or flat concrete it is impossible to hit the edge because of the gap created by the corners. I prefer minimal protection. My main concern is really protecting the corners back and front since those are what are going to hit 99% of the time. And the buttons...you can break the board connections (trust me I know, lol) if the phone lands on its buttons. I actually was thinking of going naked since the battery door can be replaced so easily and it is the entire back. Just a screen protector and a replaceable back. I have insurance. Also, I am a middle aged dad...I am not in the situations that you would drop a phone that often.
All that being said I will probably get another case at some point just because, lol.
I have the Body Glove phone case. Made of soft rubber for a nice all around grip. I purchased it at Walmart for $15. Link is for image of the case.

I had this case for my S3 and loved it......anyone know if there's a case just like this for the S4? I keep my phone in my pocket so I prefer the headphone jack and the charging port to be covered unless I'm using them.

Supposedly the neo-hybrid makes the headphone jack extremely small though...I LOVE the look of that case, but as a Beats user, I'm afraid :crying:

I have the Ringke. It is very thin. I don't feel like it would do anything to prevent the screen from cracking. It would prevent scratches to the back though.
I now have a Chinese knock off neo hybrid. Add with the genuine. .. Pretty thin on the back but it does make the phone wider. I do feel like this will help obsorb shock in a fall.
