My friend has Simple Mobile on his Verizon Galaxy S3 with texting and calling working, but no data. So I tried putting the APN from the Simple Mobile configuration site but when I go to the APN settings, there's no option to add a new APN. So I'm stuck wondering how others got data (edge/2g/3g) on their Verizon Galaxy S3 with Simple Mobile. And yes he has a data plan. NEED HELP ASAP
I use apn manager to add apns. You have to make it a system app to add the apn info though (I used titanium backup for this). I don't know what bands simple Mobile users for data but make sure the s3 has those bands otherwise all you will be able to do is voice and text.
Have a read through the make your s3 a world phone thread for more info on this. That's where I learned to add apns and figured your the radio band issue.

Owner of the Star N8000 dual sim, I would like to know the Simple Mobile APN settings for the N8000 because Simple can't give the apn settings because they can't identify the phone. Will the N8000 give 3G or 4G or Edge on Simple Mobile in the USA?

so i have a star n8000 as well im trying to figer out how to get the edge network on this device , have done the apn settings 4 times and still have no data on 3g or the edge network im using att at the moment , but soon will be suing simple mobile ! if u now how please let me no so i can at least get edge network..thanks

Hi, I'm not a lawyer but I can tell u my simple mobile current Edge Go Settings->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names->Name type Simple->MMSC type http://10.165.193.23/mms/wapeme->Menu select Save then Turn Off then On
Now this is for Edge and if anyone knows 3G settings please post on this thread!
For AT&T proxy 66.209.11.33, port 80 select menu then save turn off then on next pull down menu select data comm on! "H" should appear
Apn settings for 3G on simple mobile?
I have an i535 from verizon. I've followed all steps - phone info, apn manager and using TBP to convert to system app - to get it over to GSM and whatnot, and the phone will not pick up AT&T service. I've also tried various att apns. I've tried global, WCDMA, GSM only, and LTE/GSM/CDMA, and the stock setting for GSM/UTMS and no luck. Can anyone help me sort this out?
EDIT Ehh, disregard. Seems it picked it up after letting it set a while!
I recently bought 2 - Verizon Samsung galaxy s3's. I coverted both of them to straight talk and the one phone I have absolutely no problems with. Mobile data is a little slow but from what I've read that's pretty common. I followed the exact same steps for the second phone and I cannot get the mobile data to work. When I go in to change and create a new apn I CAN"T. It should have the LTE-Verizon apn grayed out and then I should be able to create the new apn but NOTHING shows up. No LTE-Verizon apn and it doesn't give me the option to create a new apn.
How can I change the apn on this phone so that I can use the mobile data?
Do I have to root this phone?
If I root it do I have to unlock the bootloader in order to root it?
Is there a way to change the apn settings and create a new apn without rooting or unlocking the bootloader?

Do you have a simm in both phones? You need to to have them the same.
Once you install a simm you should be able to do what you want.

yes I do and both phones can make calls. I need to find a way to change the apn on the one phone. It only shows a restore to default when I hit the menu button. Verizon - lte greyed out apn isn't there either
I flashed the factory images for 5.0.1 and now have no mobile data. Can make and revieve calls as well as text messages but thats it. Tried fixing permissions through twrp and got a boot loop. Reatored back.... Dont have an option to change apn settings. Go to cellular network settings and no option there for apn. Thinking ill have to reflash factory images but hoping there was another option.
I have an option for APN. I click settings, more, cellular networks, access point names.

I have checked there and there is no option in the list for apn. Not sure why it isnt but other places i have looked on the internet said it should be in the same place you said.
Just wanted to document here how I got Xfinity Mobile working with OnePlus 8T (Unlocked). Putting the SIM card in had SMS and voice calls working but NO data whatsoever (this phone only supports 4G on Verizon/Xfinity Mobile network). Spoke to multiple reps on the phone and chat...no help.
Reading through other forums I decided to just go in and edit the APN (I could not add a new one) but setting it to COMCAST.RSLR.VZWENTP "magically" made it work with Xfinity Mobile.

as far as i know, you can change apn in android carrier settings.
I noticed my mobile data was not working so thought I would check the APN settings.
The Comcast one no longer worked for me but changing to the Verizon (VZWINTERNET) one did. I'm not sure what, if anything, changed but just wanted to keep this page updated.
I missed some replies earlier but I didn't change anything else in the APN settings but the name.
