hey devs, i have bought this Lava E tab Xtron recently, it boasts of dual core processor, quad core gpu and an IPS screen, the only catch is that i have noticed that due to high screen brightness the text looks all faded. Reading pdf books or even checking mails on it is causing eye strain. I sent it to the service center but those guys are not too convinced about the seriousness of the problem. I have tried all basic tools such as screen adjuster but couldn't make it work for me. I just want to know if someone else is facing the same issue or is it just me. Any other tool like screen adjuster /filter which can help. Will flashing a new rom can make things better?
help?
it seems the problem is with saturation.
suggestions?

Hi, i just bought the Galaxy note 10.1 a few days ago, and when i first started using it, my eyes were hurting and it got to the point when they were throbbing. my question is, has anyone else had this problem? i have a feeling this is because the resolution is not very good on the Note 10.1.
On another note, i decided to go with this over the Transformer Infinity because i read it had problems freezing up, is this true also? what have your experiences been with the Transformer Infinity? have you had any of these problems before?
Thanks,
Ryan
Sounds like you need to see an eye doctor...

Mine hurt if I have the brightness up. Since I've started setting the brightness at about 25%, it's been fine. It took very little time to get used to that and, except in very bright conditions, I find it's plenty.
Screen Hurting Eyes
You probably have bifocal vision . I have bifocal vison and can't use High-def screen . I bought and returned xperia z just for that , but this 1280 x 800 works great for me . Another thing you have to keep in mind is that You have to try and adjust screen brightness to be the same as your surroundings , because when you keep looking at screen and up and away from screen your eyes have to adjust to difference . The less difference the less work for the eyes and less strain at them . That's why the pirates have eyepatch . When they go from bright sun on upper deck down below deck they just switch eyepatch to another eye and they see perfect below in the dark . ( Maybe You should try that lol )

im 21 i dont have bifocal vision, the screen resolution is crap on it, although im uses to using HD Screens.
and i own a macbook pro that i use daily, so that might be the reason why i think the resolution is to low
I too had tired eyes after using any lcd device for a long time.
Some thoughts from me
- reduce brightness of the screen to bare minimum
- install anti glare screen protector. It reduces the reflections from the glass and allows you to reduce brightness further.
- install screen filter... it allows u to reduce brightness below system minimum. Good for night viewing.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haxor
- take a break every 10 mins when using the tablet. Always use tv for watching movies... i have allshare cast dongle that i use for this purpose for videos i play from my tablet.
- if u read a lot of books/articles, invest in paperink readers. Very cheap these days.
- one big issue with tablets is that focal length that your eyes focus on, is almost constant. Not good. Try and follow wall ceiling lines every 20mins of tablet usage... it helps eye muscles focus on different focal lenghts and reduces fatigue.
- reduce time on tablet unless it's a job function for you.
- galaxy s3 has super amoled screens which are much easier on eyes.
- last and most imp one. Get you eyes checked.

That`s a real funny one....come on it`s still HD 720P
So growing up u didn`t watch a lot of TV......768x576
I had the same issue. I made a couple adjustments and it became much better.
First change the screen color from dynamic/standard to movie. Might take a little while to get used too. Then change the font on your device to something you feel comfortable reading.
http:// http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958316
Lastly I use an app called lux to adjust the brightness as well as change the warmth of the screen during the night. Helps a lot.
The screen fonts are only hard to read if they are too small. Just increase them to an appropriate size and they are fine.
Regarding the screen resolution. Have you noticed that only the Surface Pro ($1000) offers a digitizer pen with a fullHD screen? There is a reason for that. Those offer full i-series CPU's, not a tablet CPU as you have in your Note 10.1. To run a digitizer pen lagfree on a fullHD screen you need a better CPU and be prepared too PAY for it.
When you bought the Note 10.1 you made a choice - pen functionality vs fullHD. At $500 you can't have both.
I have problems with my eyes since i started using the note 10 plus 5G
I'm a note series user ,i was searching if anyone complained of that
I tried to stop the 5 g but still the same
I went to check my eyes and nothing wrong .
Ill try to go back to my previous note
Wrong forum for your model .

*Official Lava 504q specifications here
http://lavamobiles.com/iris-smartphones/iris504Q/home.html
*List of physically existing lava service centers
http://www.lavamobiles.com/EntityDetail/LavaStoreServiceCentreDetail.aspx
*Service center and my retailer supported me very well as I dealt with some software bugs(hang, inaccurate battery % etc.) in my phone *But all solved**replaced my phone after 1.5 months*
*My credo is that do not buy very costly mobile over 15k and use it for 2 years and then sell it out at half or more specially if you love buying new tech mobiles
*I was also confused it with xolo q800 but the main problem is “only”xolo service
Physically existing service center only in few areas but they will support you through courier services so some had bad experience while others have good experience.
Have a look at comments http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/new...d-will-take-on-micromax-a116-canvas-hd-340830
*This s5 titanium has snapdragon processor and quattro gpu&processor is not as fast as 504q power vr sgx544&mtk 6589 but these lvaµmx are considered low grade brands so your choice performance or brand when on a tight budget !
*Much better and trusty than those karbon, intx, zenn, celkn, gioneee
*At least this lava has list of authorized service centers mentioned on its website ...so be safe and in fact I’ve been using 2 other lava mobiles since 1.8 years so no problem until now
Go for it you will not regret !
Please like if you find it helpful
Thank you
I love my LAVA IRIS 504q. Yes after using Canvas 2, Canvas hd, HTC sensation I'm in love with it.
Its a superb phone under 13K ( I got it as low as 11,900)
I used canvas 2 and canvas hd and Lava beats them in every aspect..
It has got most perfect vivid and vibrant display in its class.. Even compared to the display of Sony Experia Z's display its neck to neck or even better..... exaggerating?? try to see it with your own eyes and pop your eyes out...
Its like holding a 25k phone with superior display, superior build quality, superior look , superior performance, best touch response even compared to high end smartphones and obviously with the most feature-rich and strong ROM .
Can you believe it comes preloaded with Modern Combat 2, Whats App, MX player, Fusion, Flashlight, Hungama, Opera along with stock browser, Variety theme and many more super apps along with gesture control..
And other brands must be ashamed about the intelligent magnetic flip cover . You can't get more convenient and better quality flip cover even with 1000 bucks.
So you come to know it has got magnetic sensor ( yep, u can install compass on your device) along with light, proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope (again leaving competitors ashamed).
No wonder it's selling like hot cake leaving Canvas HD way behind in this competition ...
Lava's finally coming good. I remember my last workplace which was close to their manufacturing unit in Noida and these guys sounded pretty motivated a few months ago. Maybe this new roll-out of better devices is the reason for that.

Need Help Immediately
Sir i have lava iris 504q and after i have rooted it..it has started to lag and whatsapp has become a system app and doesnt deletes.
When i use to factory reset my phone ... whatsapp pops up again which is making me frustate. The SuperSu installed after root gives option to unroot but tells about some kernels may re-root. Should i do it that way or you are gonna tell me the easiest method of all for unrooting it. Please
:crying:
Thanks!
I think I'll buy this phone! Thanks!
Hello,
Ive noticed in the past few weeks that my screen temp' is different from other SUPER AMOLED phones in the market.
i have compared A7/A5, S7/E, And Meizu Pro 6 which all have SUPER Amoled displays. and the color is more of cooler and bolder. (all have same color acuraccy but mine.)
Never had a problem with the screen color untill ive seen the others.
Question is, can i change color temperature using root ? or anything ? is it based on what ROM im running ?
Im rocking the Famous Nobel ROM and loving every second of it.
Thanks in advnace.
O.K, the Samsung Galaxy A20 is a budget phone (I bought mine for AU$239) so I do not expect any "flagship" performance but the initial attraction was the Amoled display that has some degree of daylight readability, reasonable camera performance, the relatively big battery capacity for SoC size and the glimmer of hope in rooting this device.
After a little while, some things becomes apparent which I would like to share:
There is no light sensor so screen brightness cannot adapt to ambient light....a strange and disappointing omission
The phone is made in Vietnam not South Korea...just an observation
The heavily embedded bloat from Samsung and Google is chronic in magnitude and its primary purpose is for harvesting personal information and pushing ads
Fingerprint lock works efficiently but the rear sensor is hard to locate
WiFi reception range is poor.
The Android One UI is pleasingly clean but the Settings menus are a bit disorganized
Root can be achieved relatively easily but is "precarious" to say the least.
Show me your good and bad list

It had no light sensor but somehow it uses the cameras to adjust to ambient light.
Update after using for some time.....
I really miss not having a notification LED - a backwards step to delete it for the notched display fad. An edge LED would have been great but that would cost 3c to include.....
Mobile reception is noticeably weaker than my old Moto G 2013 and Xiaomi Redmi Note2 - another backwards step!

I agree. I came from a Nexus 6P and found the notification light very handy. It's not a deal breaker for me though.
Does anyone know if the A20 has an oleophobic layer on the screen?
This might be stupid question but why does my A20 SM-A205G not have NFC there is no options under settings or on status bar to activate it but I see some SM-A205U have it and other 205g have enabled, do I have the chip in phone already? Just need to flash other firmware to use it? Has anyone else had any luck activating NFC?
I've had the phone about a month now and coming from an LG V30 before this I can say that despite all the cons I'm overall happier with this phone over that garbage. Barely.
Pros:
The A20 camera is much better with low light
Apps seem to crash less
I also like the Samsung UI more than I expected
The samsung keyboard is so much better than any other keyboard I've been able to find in the app store
I like how the lock button is on the side instead of the back like on the V30
Cons:
The camera is still pretty grainy even in sunlight
The auto screen brightness sucks balls. I can't even count how many times the screen dimmed & brightened just in the last few mins while I'm sitting in one spot
I also very much notice the lack of ram. It feels really laggy at times, like a 5 second delay when I'm just typing or sometimes I'll tap and it'll register as a hold
I can easily see the downgrade in screen resolution when watching videos
The proximity sensor. I'll be in a call and occasionally my face will mute the call or dial numbers
Or when I had the feature activated to double tap to turn on the screen, it would turn on in my pocket all the time and mess with buttons or sliders. On numerous occasions my phone would be ringing and I'd pull it out to find out my leg was messing with the volume slider. Not once did the LG do that
And finally I should've looked into the ability to root this phone before I got it. I have the A205U sadly and didn't make sure it's even unlockable with all the extensive research I was doing while I was looking to replace my LG

I have the same question.... I've seen through the internet many sites saying the a20 has nfc, and even give instructions for activating it , but i couldn't.... Wether it has or not, I'm not certain at all.
Any way to activate nfc using root or something else of the sort?
Hello !! Just bought this tablet and I already noticed that the display is noticeably warmer in color than usual displays. (SM-T733, Wi-Fi Only model).
I already got my unit replaced (official service center reported a factory defect), but the new replacement model still has a noticeably warm display (a bit less than the original unit I got).
The store model (LTE model) and the Wi-Fi only model has a significant difference in their color temperature when compared side-by-side.
The official reason that the store claims is that the 2 models have different chipsets, ergo different GPUs.
Does anybody else have encountered the same problem?
Does anyone have any fixes for this issue?
I read around and others have said that rooting my device and installing KCal Support and Ex Kernel and changing the display parameters can fix this issue. Do you think it's a good idea?
Hi,
I've got the same issue.
Hope Samsung will let us to change colours settings in One UI 5 !
I have noticed the same. It doesn't bother me at all and I think Samsung does that to protect eyes. I have noticed the warm screen calibration on other Samsung devices as well. For example when i compare my Galaxy S10 to my S8 or S7 it becomes obvious. I think its a special layer or some filter in the Display. I wouldn't worry about it too much and if you have to have a a good color calibration for color grading or something like that then a tablet might not be ur first pick.
