How to install:Important!
You will need to download Koush's bootstrap application and bootstrap your recovery. Then you can boot into recovery via the same app or you can install via ROM Manager(by rebooting into recovery, not via install rom from sdcard). Once you boot into recovery do a FULL nandroid backup and then you go to mounts and storage and mount /system manually to avoid more issues. Install zip from sdcard and toggle signature verification to disable. Now you can install the zip from the sdcard. Once this is done, reboot.
Now after reading all that here is your download!

Please READ each direction CAREFULLY and BEFORE executing each step. I can not stress how many mistakes are made because someone did not READ the directions carefully. So... yeah, once again, READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!
How to Apply EpicUnleashed 1.1
Credits: The ROM was created by Matt4542. Tutorial was written by me with some simple directions from Matt. You'll need to be rooted in order to run the Droid 2 Bootstrapper.
The fine print: Matt4542 and/or I (DarkOnion) can not be held responsible if you mess up. If you mess up, you mess up. That's why I wrote the .sbf recovery tutorial. Matt has also written one. More simple, but requires Linux.
Here we go.
1. Download Koush Bootstrap here.

2. Download Epic Unleashed 1.1!

3. Move both files to the base of the SD Card. Best way to do this is to plug your phone into your computer and move it like that. Make sure you phone is in USB mass storage mode. To change it, pull down the notification blind, choose USB connection, and choose USB Mass storage. Now copy and paste the two files to the new removable drive that showed up in your My Computer. The Epic-Unleashed11Deodexed.zip needs to be at the base of the SD card, and not in any folders. After moving all the files over to the phone, change the connection type back to Charge Only. Notfication blind -> USB Connection -> Charge only.
4. Install Koush Droid 2 Bootstrapper. Using an app installer, Astro File Manager, or equivalent, navigate to your SD card. The folder in Astro File Manager will be called sdcard. Choose Droid2Bootstrap.apk and install it. Follow the directions.
5. Now that it is installed, open Droid 2 Bootstrapper located in your applications section menu. It'll probably ask you for Super User access, say yes.
6. Press Bootstrap Recovery. It'll probably ask you for Super User access, say yes.
7. Next, we want to back your system file up by making a system image. In the Droid2 Bootstrapper, which you are already in, choose Reboot Recovery. Your phone should restart and load up into the bootloader.You should see some green text with various options, and a little lower than the middle of the screen, it says ClockworkMod Recovery.
Notes for navigating through the system. You need to use the keyboard to navigate. "Enter" will select. "Del" will cancel/go back. and the arrows are movement.
8. Using your slide out keyboard, scroll down to backup and restore and press the enter key. It should take you to another window. Choose Backup. Let it runs it's course. After it is all said and done. Reboot your phone by choosing reboot system now. (I don't think the rebooting is necessary, but I am just going to do it be safe.)
9. After you are done rebooting, if you did this, go back to the Droid 2 Bootstrapper, and choose Reboot Recovery. It'll reboot, and you'll eventually be back at the screen with the green text.
10. Using your keyboard buttons, choose mount and storage. And then choose mount /system. After that, press del to go back to the main menu.
11. Using your keyboard buttons, choose install zip from sdcard.
12. You need to make sure signature verification is off. Choose toggle signature verification and make sure it is off. At the bottom, under ClockworkMod Recovery, it'll say whether or not signature verification is enabled or disabled. You want it to say that it is disabled.
13. Then choose install zip from sdcard. Choose Epic-Unleashed11Deodexed.zip. It'll ask to confirm. Scroll down to Yes, and press enter. You'll see some commands going and eventually say it is complete.
14. Now navigate back to the main menu by pressing "Del" on the keyboard. And restart your phone by choosing reboot system now. It'll reboot and that's it! You've added EpicUnleashed 1.1.
Note: Your first boot will take a little while, up to 10 minutes. PLEASE BE PATIENT. You know that you corrected updated if your start-up animation is different.
If you need to undo this thing, boot back up into bootloader using Droid 2 Bootstrapper -> Reboot Recovery -> Back Up and Restore (after the reboot) -> Restore.

I have v1.0 installed now. When I go into bootstrap and try to install 1.1 my phone still reads rom v1.0...?

Same for me, I came from stock and it appears I am still stock (no weather widget, etc). I notice I did not move the .zip from my /downloads/ to the base sd card, I will try that when I have some time.

Maybe you can put the launcher2.apk for 2.2 as the main homescreen. I downloaded it from the droid incredible forum on my phone and everything is working alot snappier on my end. Still using stock just looking and waiting until everything is figured on this rom.

As a test for now just try to install your recovery from ROM Manager and boot into recovery that way. It is untested but it is worth a shot.

Actually all of the bugs have been ironed out. It is a problem with the recovery. It may affect you, may not. I would put the stock Froyo launcher but I am not going to risk screwing with blur and causing more problems now. I will do it in a later release.

I tried this and still nothing is new...
I tried to install this rom using multiple ways:
Wiped phone
Normal install as instructions say
Wiping SDCARD
Could not see any changes.
I'm sort of a noob at this but is this going to improve the speed of the device

Yes and no. It'll is suppose to help clean up some of the junk that is on the phone. Have you rooted yet, because if you haven't... you need to do that before you flash a fixed version.
Yep I have already rooted it but I am in the stage where it says to make sure that my signature check is disable mine is enable how do I get it disabled sorry for being such a noob lol i got 5th in the state of Minnesota for computer repair but I I haven't done this kinda of stuff before

Yup. It does work. Thank you to you sir, and thank you to Matt for walking me through the updating process. I have updated the tutorial to reflect the changes.
After bdemartino wrote his AWESOME thread for the Mesmerize it seemed only fitting that the Showcase get their very own... And since his Thread was Flawless, with his permission I'm mostly copy/pasting word for word.
THIS GUIDE IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE SHOWCASE
If you're Looking For FROYO Skip down to the bottom of this post to the Section Labled FROYO!!!!!
Keep in mind there are many variations to each step, this is what worked for me the easiest.
And last but not least. There is always the disclaimer that attempting any of this can and will make your phone dysfunctional and or possibly bricked beyond repair (but most likely just dysfunctional which is a pain in the arse to deal with) if you do not follow steps completely (and of a trustworthy source such as xda - ehm and in the appropriate forum ).
So make sure you're in a comfortable environment (not a good idea to be trying to accomplish this while slamming beers at the bar), take your time, read each step that these people have taken the time to carefully write up (then follow it), and you'll be just fine. Be patient as things don't always move fast and you never want to freak out as you may screw things up bad, when it's actually just taking longer than you would expect. Always give it at least 5 minutes before you determine it's looping or crashing or whatevering, there is alot going on behind the scenes, trust me!
Steps to Customize Your Stock Showcase (For Eclair 2.1)
1) Root your phone. - Basically all this means is gaining the ability to give programs/apps and yourself SuperUser access (equivalent of being admin in windows) and also the ability to flash roms via recovery, detailed below.
The easiest way to root is through the z4root.apk. (an application that will run right on your phone)
Download Here
After download, put z4root.apk on your SD card root directory
Then make sure in Settings->Applications that the "Unknown sources" box is checked.
If you don't have a file manager, download a free one from the market, using the file manager navigate to the z4root.apk and select to install it. Note: If you need help at this step, no offense I would suggest getting someone with more experience to help you continue on. I'm serious here
Reboot your phone
After it boots, open the z4root app and press root. At this point it is going to hang, give it 2 minutes and pull the battery. Count to 10, put it back in and turn it on. - This is normal
After your phone boots open z4root again and click root, this time it will run no problems and phone will reboot.
NOTE**IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH z4root: "give Super One Click a try. It's a package you have to download to your computer, but you get to see more of what's actually going on so you know where it's at in the process. I have only used up to version 1.5.5, and I know that version is very capable for the Showcase on 2.1. It is located here."-This Information provided by phidelt82**
Once you are rooted (you will see the superuser icon in your apps, it will show apps you've given that permission to... eventually) you will need to make sure you have a file manager that can request root permissions (read/write) before you will be able to complete the next step. Search the market for "root file manager" and pick one to download and install.
I use Root Explorer
It's a few bucks, but there's hardly a day that goes by when I don't use it.. (Well worth the money)
Also at this step I would download and install RomManager and TerminalEmulator as you will need these later.
2) Install RomManager and the ClockworkMod Recovery. These will basically just give you the ability to boot into recovery where you can more easily flash kernel's/rom's and anything else you wish to push to your phone. (Recovery is basically a bios like interface - but it's different than the stock version)
I was able to install the Clockwork Mod Recovery very easily just by simply using the root file manager app I had downloaded, along with following with the instructions.
(In your file manager, MAKE SURE YOU ARE Read/Write not Read/Only, for RootExplorer there is a toggle at the top, other ones you may have to enable this through settings, others may just be R/W by default, you will just have to determine this or google the app)
Download the two Files you need from the bottom of this post
Place both files on your SD card root if you were using a computer to download them or you could always download them through your phone's browser
Using the root file explorer app, move the Redbend_ua file from the SD card to /system/xbin/
Long press on the Redbend_ua file and click permissions, there should be one check missing, check that so that all are marked. Save and exit.
Now open TerminalEmulator
NOTE:The spaces below are actual spaces and in bml8 there is a lowercase "L" not a "1" there is also a space after cd, after redbend_ua, after restore, and after recovery.bin
TYPE THIS ALL EXACTLY AS SHOWN BETWEEN THE QUOTES
at the command line ($) type "su" (then hit enter)
Type "cd /system/xbin" (then hit enter, which changes directory)
Type "redbend_ua restore /sdcard/zImage /dev/block/bml8" (then hit enter, It will now scroll a bunch of text and reboot.)
After phone boots, open RomManager
Click on Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
Select the Samsung Fascinate your phone will still be the Showcase. This is just what works with our model.
At this point you're all stock and ready for new kernel/rom. (but now you are able to do so very easily)
Accessing Recovery!!!!!
NOTE: There are a few ways of getting into recovery mode. The easiest is to download QuickBoot.
Once installed you can install the widget to any homescreen or just use the app from the app drawer. Once you open the app, click Recovery and it automatically reboots the Phone into Recovery..
You may have to click the install update.zip (while you're on the stock kernel after Voodoo you won't have to anymore)
The other method, which you will need incase you EVER Bootloop! Is the 3 finger method (Hold down the volume up and down keys and the power button all at the same time when you're turning your phone on) Once you see the Samsung splash screen you can remove your finger from the power button, but keep holding down both volume keys!!!
Incase of Bootloop, remove the battery and do this while Rebooting...
AGAIN WHILE YOU STILL HAVE A STOCK KERNEL, YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO *apply sdcard:update.zip* after you enter the FIRST RECOVERY...
The next Screen will be Clock Work Mod, this is where you will want to do your First Nandroid Backup!!!!
3) KERNEL: Install Voodoo lagfix kernel and new 5.0 sound
Now onto Installing a Voodoo Kernel
If you want speed and good battery life (and high standard marks) +unlocking the headphone amp and eq controls (it makes even the samsung headset sound killer) go here and follow those steps for using your now functional recovery mode to flash the new Voodoo 5.0 kernel.
Now you can install Voodoo Control and get new life out of those earbuds!!!
Note: Just an FYI, after installing custom kernel's you will always have an issue on start up of seeing a flashing black box in the middle of the samsung logo. This can be corrected by installing a custom boot screen (only requires root access) and you can find out how here.
4) Custom ROM : Download and install the ROM of your choice.
Right now we really only have 1 that I recommend..
It's Phidelt82's PicknPack Rom
This is a deodexed Rom which allows you to use MODS and themes. This ROM is 100% Stable, I've been running it for a WHILE with ZERO issues...
MODS/Themes/Customization
NoClock in the Status Bar
Midnight Theme
HoneyComb Digital Clock
Shutdown Animations or Images
Bootanimations with new Boot Sounds
Of course there is WAY more than these listed, but this should fill up your afternoon playing around with your new and IMPROVED Showcase!!!
FROYO FOR THE SHOWCASE = YUMMY!!!!
Yes, for those of you that didn't already know, thanks to Phidelt82 we now have Froyo!!!! I've been running it for about a week and it's Delicious!!!
I'm not going to Write as much as I did for the 2.1 b/c the directions are in the threads already.. Just follow the Directions, if you have any problems after that read through the threads and see if anyone's already figured them out...
And this will work with a Factory Showcase!!!!!
First of all you need to go to:
[Froyo-Odin] Showcase EB11 - Cellular South Update (be sure to Thank Phidelt82)
After this you will have 2.2, now you can use:
SuperOneClick to root your new Froyo Showcase (if you want)!!!
And if you plan on doing Mods/Themes/etc.. You should go ahead and Flash the EB11 Showcase Pick-n-Pack, again be sure to thank Phidelt82 for this!!!
If you flash the PicknPack Rom made by Phidelt82, then there's no need to root... It comes PREROOTED.. You only need to ROOT if you're staying on the Stock 2.2!!!
If you're flashing the picknpack do a Nandroid backup after you're done.... If you're going to stay on the Factory 2.2, do you a Nandroid backup after that...

If you're new to using voodoo lagfix kerenls.. Remember to always disable lagfix before doing Nandroid Backups/Restores/Flashing mods/Themes for YOUR SAFETY

We're here... For the most part i'm waiting on a stable 2.2 or 2.3 based rom. Running pick-n-pack for now with Voodoo5.
Whenever I got to the terminal emulator and do the "redbend_ua restore /sdcard/recovery.bin /dev/block/bml8" it comes back with a permission denied and then reboots the phone...I've check my spelling/case numerous times. Following the instructions on the original post/thread where the zip file came from goes ok, but the recovery rom doesnt allow me to install the VooDoo in the next step. Any help would be great.

you more than likely are going to need to install Root Explorer onto your phone.. And use it to move the files (that's what I and many others had to do)

Are you typing su first to grant root permissions? You should see a # instead of a $ at the prompt.

I'm not sure if you can do this through terminal or not... I did mine from my pc... you may have to leave off adb shell and just start at su when using terminal...
This is making the file executable

chmod 777 /sdcard/redbend_ua
while it's still on the sdcard (Before moving it then you don't need to worry about it)

did you also get the zImage file? it was included in the test_no_voodoo.zip
If you did that step then you need to download ClockworkMod from the market and install the fascinate version of recovery.

Yep, ive done all of that stuff also...and whenever I take the entire zip file, rename it to update.zip and reboot into recovery it tells me that the sdcard is busy
**this was a very early guide and most of the files and methods referenced in it are long outdated, sounds crazy I know as the phone has barely been out, but i recommend finding more recent guides at this point. I wanted to leave this up for archival reasons though. As of 7-22 I am running dhackers CM10 build with great results. Just don't forget to set max cpu clock back down to 1500 mhz if you don't want it over locked out of the box **
As per the usual disclaimer....at your own risk, be aware of IMEI loss issues and whatnot...basically cover your own butt.....and enjoy.....

7-29 this guide is very old, it pre-dates kexec and is only here for historical purposes
For clarification: The question was asked if one is supposed to follow the original Team Epic Kexec kernel instructions or these steps and the answer is two fold. If your goal is to install the UNOFFICIAL CM9 built by Invisiblek (which is the purpose of this thread), then you follow the steps in THIS THREAD ONLY. There are a couple steps and a couple files linked to in the original Kexec page that will not allow you to install CM9. That page was made for those wanting to try out their Kexec Proof of Concept KERNEL, not install a ROM of any kind.
This thread makes some assumptions, such as you already have a working install of the Android SDK and ADB, you already have the drivers installed, you are using the original USB cable that came with your phone, you know how to move around DOS to get to the directory where you downloaded the files, etc.......those lower level tasks are for another thread.

The following is an adaptation of the CM Kexec kernel proof of concept with the changes in files and steps necessary to load the latest CM9 work in progress. Be advised I take no credit at all. This is the work of Team Epic and Invisiblek. I just put this together for myself and for others who would like to try it with one caveat. DATA doesn't work! Voice and SMS only....and maybe 1xRtt data.....so you will be relying on WiFi for data! You've been warned!
Also, I highly suggest you use a free MD5 Hash checking utility to verify the integrity of the files you are downloading. That is why the MD5 hash is provided, so you can be sure you didn't get the wrong file or a corrupt download that could cause a BRICK!
If you don't follow the directions carefully you can end up with a brick! Ask questions after reading the OP if you still aren't sure. I probably won't know the right answer for sure. You may have to wait on someone with more experience in this to answer your question.
DO NOT ACCEPT AN OTA UPDATE WHILE RUNNING THIS SETUP
1. Download the recovery.img (MD5: f1c01ad20e02751a73188f173eb412ca), which combines our source-based kernel with our previously released CWM v4.
2. Flash the recovery.img following these instructions, that is:

adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 bs=256k
sync
3. Reboot into recovery (using volume up, home power buttons), wipe data, install one of invisibleks CM9 roms>click here for all of his CM9 roms< which do not have boot.img integrated, then continue with the steps below:
4. Download these additional files:
(required download)boot.img (MD5: db058f4b15df0fa1b9ee04a5c17cf103), which is invisibleks custom boot.img
It would be good at this point to read ahead and determine where you will be loading the next file. Keep in mind if you are in stock recovery and choose to wipe data, this will wipe the internal memory.
if you plan to load onto internal memory download this file boot_emmc_boot_img.zip (MD5: 84a3f98c194f6dedc583dbc75ccc34c2)
or
if you plan to load onto sdcard (ext) memory download this file boot_sdcard_boot_img.zip (MD5: 88904d7e69d455ff88756b4d1ad79aac), which are applied in recovery to kexec (boot) the custom boot.img.
5. Place boot.img either on the internal SD card (the /sdcard/ folder), or on the external SD card (the /mnt/extSdCard/ folder).
The boot.img kernel boots directly out of one of these folders, it will not (and should not) be flashed to the device.
6. If you're using the internal SD card, place boot_emmc_boot_img.zip in /sdcard/ as well. If you're using the external SD card, place boot_sdcard_boot_img.zip in /mnt/extSdCard/.
7. Reboot into recovery.
8. If using the internal SD card, select "Install zip from sd card" and then "choose zip from internal sdcard", then "boot_emmc_boot_img.zip". Alternatively, if using the external SD card, select "choose zip from sdcard", then "boot_sdcard_boot_img.zip".
At this point, the device should reboot "in the middle" of applying the update, temporarily booting boot.img. If the update "completes" and returns to the CWM menu, kexec has failed or the wrong recovery was loaded in the beginning. Please check the locations of boot.img, and boot_emmc_boot_img.zip or boot_sdcard_boot_img.zip and verify recovery.img file used was the correct one, verify using an MD5 hash checker.
9. Once booted, the custom kernel can be confirmed by checking "Kernel version" in "Settings", "About device". It should report:

10. To reboot into the stock kernel, select "Restart" from the Power menu, which will actually reboot into CWM recovery. Press the Power button to select "reboot system now" and leave recovery.
11. You cannot simply power on your phone with this setup! In order to power on your phone you will have to hold volume up, home and power to boot into recovery and load the zip file you chose at step 4 where you chose either internal or external memory, so either "boot_emmc_boot_img.zip" or "boot_sdcard_boot_img.zip". If you do accidentally boot up by just hitting power, no big deal, it will give you all sorts of force closes, simply pull battery and boot back up using the Vol up, Home, power method.
If anyone would like to suggest further clarification, please do. To get the stock Google apps such as Play Store get the package HERE and install in recovery
Alternatively a more condensed version of this install procedure has been posted by nbsdx and can be found HERE.

If you want to return to bone stock, simply go to THIS THREAD to get STOCK ROM IMAGE and then put your phone into Odin Download mode by following THIS THREAD and be sure to flash it using the PDA button. It will take a while, probably 20 minutes or so, it will take forever to boot up the first time but you will be on bone stock like new.

Being that we have to use kexec anyhow, it would be nice (especially with the state of current cm9 rom) if we could fully dual boot so as to keep stock system and data for stock kernel.

If you follow the steps in this thread, including using these links for your files, it will work without a problem.
I can't comment on why other guides on other sites using other files don't work.....and not really sure how it applies to this thread. Lets try to keep it on topic. If you have issues with the dual booting instructions, you might start a new thread to address that or jump in irc.freednode.net/verizons3 and graciously ask the people for help
When you flash the the CM9 rom built by Invisiblek it will come back out to CWR menu. At that point in the process I realized I hadn't copied the boot.img file into the root of my sd card, so i left it on the CWR menu, popped out the sdcard, copied the boot.img file over (already had the boot_sdcard_boot.img file on the root of sdcard), and popped the sdcard back in, chose advanced->reboot recovery, then followed the steps in this guide, worked perfectly.

You need to add one line to Invisiblek's updater-script that "flashes" the boot.img to the bootloader partition in the multi boot folder. Check out the sprint cm9 install for the line to add.
I have tested dual booting to work perfectly.

I flashed back to stock, simply because I need to have voice and SMS working. I could deal without 3G/4G data for a little bit and use WiFi, but no SMS/Voice was a deal breaker on my phone. I have to be easily gotten in touch with for work and such. It was fun while it lasted.
Will these same instructions work for the CM10 build that is in the server list?

No. Different files used, probably a different step or two also. I plan to edit this once CM10 builds are ready for public consumption. These instructions also don't include the automated kexec scripting work done recently that allows your device to cold boot into CM9.

Is there anyway to get the TouchWiz Camera on CM9? I really like that camera app.
I tried just putting it in /system/app and changing the permissions to rw-r--r-- and rebooting and nothing
Then i tried just installing it like a normal apk and it failed.
I would love CM9 if i could just get the stock camera app too work.
BTW im using DHacker29's CM9 and its amazing. So much easier to install.

It probably requires touchwiz frame work. It will take significantly more work than just dropping in an apk

THIS IS ONE QUICK/SIMPLE ERROR FREE ROM FLASHING PROCEDURE
This should eliminate a few posts saying, stuck in download mode, stuck at logo. just vibrates and them MANY other issues that somehow, everyone seems to find.
Here is my quick rom flashing process I use ALWAYS (yes always)
THINGS YOU NEED ON extSDCARD
1. Extra kernels (2 or 3 you know works for your device)
2. Optional: 2 recoveries that can be flashed (I use CWM & TWRP)
3. Optional: apps.zip (a zip created from Titantium BU, containing Root Explorer, TU Backup, Quickpic, ES File Explorer and Terminal Emulator)
Flashing the rom: TOUCHWIZ/AOSP ROMS
1. Backup current rom (to the extsdcard)
2. Complete wipe, (I do complete, some people do not) Complete = No Issues [FACTORY RESET + CLEAR CACHE + CLEAR DALVIK CACHE + CLEAR DATA]
3. Flash the rom
4. Flash the kernel (your device kernel) (I know some roms have their own kernel) this is where your problems start.
AGAIN: FLASH YOUR KERNEL, you KNOW it works. 1 more time FLASH YOUR KERNEL. (you can experiment with other kernels after you boot)
AOSP ROMS - require you to flash gapps before you boot. [This is not required for TouchWiz roms]
5. Boot the rom.
FINISHED!!!! SUCCESS!!!
Total time to flash a rom:
7-10min
Errors - NONE
This goes for every rom in my guide.
TIPS:
This flash procedure is for Touchwiz Roms, if you are flashing AOSP roms, you must flash the gapps package associated with the rom you are flashing.
**** SGH-I337M Users: Often requires flashing a different kernel than the one included in most ATT ROMS. Any GT-i9505 kernel will work and Adam kernel and Faux kernel are both confirmed working for us Canadian users.
Note: Flash KERNEL directly after ROM then reboot device.

Yes, you can flash recoveries back and forth.

Hit the menu button when in TiBa, it will bring up an option to create a zip, it rocks, I use it for multiple things, you can name it anything you want, flashes perfect every time. When I want to setup a rom, I have to use those apps, like the root explorer. I hate doing a complete restore or picking thru it to get what I need, so I flash the zip with the only things I need.

Wow, you guys didn't know TiBU could do this?
apps.zip (a zip created from Titantium BU, containing Root Explorer, TU Backup, Quickpic, ES File Explorer and Terminal Emulator)
This is helpful when you get the rom fully booted, and you have to do some changing of things like pushing apps to the system/apps dir, all the zip is a combination of tools I think are needed to get the rom up to speed, I have been using this since the G3 days, speeds up my testing of the roms for my guide also.

If you can not do this, you need to sell your phone to me, and go out and buy a flip phone, or a iPuke. those are the easiest fool proof phones for people who can not read or follow simple instructions.

I know there are 3 stages to do this.
Atrix 2 Specs:
Official ICS 4.0.4
Unrooted
What I am planning to do:
1. ROOT using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742879
2. Clockwordmod Recovery using http://theunlockr.com/2012/11/14/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-the-motorola-atrix-2/ (Atrix2Bootstrap.apk), because Boot Menu Manager is so confusing, and I'm not used to partitions.
3. Flash a CM11 ROM with proper gapps (need help).
Where I need help:
1. I want to know if the rooting method and the CWM method will work.
2. I can't find any proper CM11 ROM+GApps where people have commented "success!"
3. All the tutorials I find just say use BMM. I want to use CWM, how do I go about flashing a ROM with CWM (Bootstrap) on Atrix 2? Can I get some steps for this?
4. My motorola drivers are from https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481 , if that's right.
I'm requesting the amazing xda-devs team for help.. thanks in advance.

4. Head over to general section. There you will find a tutorial how to set BMM up.
5. If this is so hard for you, the most preliminary step is a must for you. Snoop around and read.

BMM is not that hard to use as it look !! :angel:
Even I also got confused for very first time after watching the video, but dont worry you can do it it not that difficult
Just root your phone by any method then
install BMM from play store -->> open it -->> give root access to it -->> let it do its work -->> i dont remember but may be it will restart phone, if not then restart your phone (after its work is finished) -->> on restart -->> you will see motorola logo and after that android logo (green) -->> click on it -->> then follow the BMM vdo tutorial
(I am kinda lazy about writing all steps )
PM me or any member we will help you if you stuck anywhere..... but you have to watch the complete vdo and try to understand it first

Yeah, kinda sorry about the wrong section thing, I guess I should've posted it in the help section. Btw what do you mean when you say the rooting method will not work? And what I mean by the cm11 threads is that they provide non working gapps where many users have complained of an error "installation aborted".. Thanks though.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate this. But my main worry was the partitions. Its extremely complicating, and I thought clockwork mod recovery aka bootstrap was a better and easier option.

Opps. My bad. The rooting method will work. But CWM will not. Because if you want to flash kk rom, you'll need BMM. I'm pretty sure altered stated that, any gapps will do fine. But preferably pa gapps. But if you want it running on main system, you need other gapps. As pa minimal gapps too big for our data partition. So there it is. Fail to install. As for allocating partition for other system, it's pretty simple and easy actually. I'll leave sameer or other member to answer.

But preferably pa gapps. But if you want it running on main system, you need other gapps. As pa minimal gapps too big for our data partition. So there it is. Fail to install. As for allocating partition for other system, it's pretty simple and easy actually. I'll leave sameer or other member to answer.

This is really complicated now.. I had installed CyanogenMod on a Motorola defy and my kindle fire, and there were no partitions and stuff. I don't care much for dual boot and partitions.. Not like I like Motorola's OS anyway. Thanks though.

I can rephrase my queries.
What I'm having issues with is:
I don't want to have multi boot or partitions, installing CM11 as the default boot is preferable.
It would be cool if I could get quick help on installing BMM, it's very confusing.
Also, flashing the ROM with BMM is also very confusing.

If you don't want multiple partitions the don't set any up. Just skip that part. I never use more than one ROM either.

Download the app, open it, select "install". Done.

Reboot the phone. After the Motorola logo you'll see an green android with spinning gears. Within 3 seconds tap on the android. Then select "recovery". Go to "wipe and clean" and do a factory reset. Go back and select "install zip package", then "install zip from storage". Choose the file from your SD card using the volume keys to navigate and power to select. Install gapps the same way then reboot. Done.

Please , i say please if u want to go somewhere with your A2 , u hav to start loving BMM and love it truely madly deeply because without it A2 wouldnt get any of the goodies it has.The video is confusing i agree..i didnt do it when the video was out...Its fairly simple you know...here i list the easy steps..follow them 1 by 1 and do it simultaneously with your device....it wont be difficult...
You can find the complete instructions in the quote below :

The last line will be something like this
/int vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p25
Just change 'vfat' to 'auto' and 'mmcblk1p25' to 'userdata' (its the same though..)
So that it looks like this
/int auto /dev/block/userdata
and of course save it and close it..
Done.. you are good to go.. Happy Multi Booting..
Just some tips
On your first reboot, tap the android, go to settings-->System_2-->Partition setup and tap on ACTIVATE. This formats cdrom partition to ext2.
Now go back 2 two steps, and select any other system(3-6). choose Partition setup, tap on system.img, tap on Create, select the size, create it. go back and do the same with data.img and cache.img.
Once thats done, go back and select recovery, select switch system. choose your system that you created the images for, the colour will change, install any custom rom.. Enjoy!!
NOTE: BMM stores the images in internal memory(/int/clockworkmod/virtual/system_(num)). Since we dont have emmc partition and are using the data partition for /int, doing a factory reset will wipe it out and you will lose all your other roms.. So be carefull..
NOTE 2: USE ONLY SYSTEMS 3 TO 6 FOR CUSTOM ROMS.. SUSTEM 2 IS CDROM PARTITION.. YOU ACTIVATE IT ONCE AND DONE.. DONT TOUCH IT AGAIN.. ITS ONLY 12MB..
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL BMM IF YOU USED A2 BOOTSTRAPPER BEFORE. THAT WILL MESS THINGS UP WITH YOUR LOGWRAPPER.BIN. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BOOT LOOP AFTER REBOOT. NOW IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DID NOT READ THIS, AND GET A MESSAGE ABOUT BMM ASKING YOU TO GET HELP, BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY FULLY AND FXZ BACK. OR THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL HAVE TO USE MCGRUVYER METHOD OR ANOTHER A2 BATTERY. USER RAD7 RECENTLY HAD QUITE A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH HIS BATTERY DYING AFTER BMM MESSED WITH LOGWRAPPER. YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED.

Ans :You dont need to multi boot mandatorily.You can flash any ROM of your choice on system 1. That will be the only single ROM you have on your device...
Again..really sorry..BMM is the way...You hav to learn to love it....and it will love your phone back

Ans : After you install and go through the UI once. I bet it will be the simplest thing you ever used..Even more simple than the FB app u regularly use :silly::silly:

Also remember ..as you are going to install on system 1...only BANKS MINIMAL GAPPS will work...Link to BANKS Minimal is there in the CM11 thread by ALtered
