I have an infuse with a bad power button, during the repair one of the pads lifted and tore off. Does anyone know of an alternate location I could solder a small wire to in order to complete the circuit?
The pad that came off is the top rear of the button, if you jump the bottom and top rear pads the phone turns on (just to give you a reference of the pad I am talking about). If you don't have an alternate point is there somewhere I could scrape lightly to expose the wire trace in the board and solder to?
I really need help as I cannot turn the phone on at all because the volume down button is bad also but I want to get the power button fixed before I mess with the other button.

I recently replaced my digitizer on my inspire 4g with great success , but now my volume button is broken and i have no Wifi :crying: . I am going to go back in and check the connectors, i just wanted to see if my fellow xda users had any similar problems. how much is a new volume flex cable and where is the wifi connector? I have heard that the wifi antenna is the battery door but what about the connector? also when i removed the black square tape covering my mother board there was a bronze metallic sticker underneath that NO One warned me about hence my now broken volume cable, what the heck is it?

hi when you open the phone you must take the volume flex first because if you dont you break other pieces you dont see now you must put a little piece of flex between the the bottons and the flex and try to press to if works then you put the sticker again so the plastic will not fall that happend to me and thats how i resolve the issue... and the wifi check the antenna to see if is disconected i have open a few phones but never had that happend
OK it took me forever but I finally replaced my volume flex cable and now everything is working except the volume down button! Upon further inspection I noticed "electric conducting paint"(similar to the paint on the battery door, simcard and GPS covers) on the interior of the volume button at the top and bottom. on the bottom where the down button touches the flex cable this "paint" has faded thus no volume down. Can I buy this type of paint? I tried a piece of foil but its to tedious to install.

I was replacing my screen for the 3rd time... yes that's right the 3rd time. I don't want to talk about it. I thought I had released the catch on the motherboard connector that the volume button plug into and when I pulled the cable I yanked the connector right off the motherboard. I have been surviving with a volume app for a while, but I want to fix it so I can sell it for more monies. Daddy wants new note edge.
I am not worried about the work itself, it won't be a piece of cake but I have the right tools and a little experience with soldering small bits like this. But my google-foo has failed me I can not find this part. Anyone have any ideas?
hi,
I might be posting this again so sorry for that and bad grammar if any.
I replaced digitizer on my pad and now screen is not working . i hear notification sounds coming up so i am sure that its switched on. but nothing is on the screen. and also the indication light wihich turns green when charging is also working. i am able to access internal memory fwhen connected to pc so i think everything is okay inside.
thanks
Check the following after you pull the back case of the unit and then flick the main board power rocker switch to the off position:
- the LCD connector that runs across the battery - make sure that both ends of it are plugged in and make sure they are both snug. Re-seat the connectors. Make sure there are no broken pins on both sides in both the male and female parts of both connectors. Also make sure that you did not kill one of the connector wires.
You may have broken your screen when pulling it off the digitizer. One strong pull or twist too many or too much heat from the heat gun can do that.
Check that you have put the ribbon connectors in properly.. I just did one late at night and found that had not locked them in right.. Also check you have the right parts as it seems there were different variations being sold
hi,
i snapped the thin flex cable for the power button when trying to replace the screen. is there a part i can replace? or will soldering work?
Has anyone replaced the flex cable for the two buttons? I'm just wondering if anyone was successful, and how difficult it is. I have my watch taken apart down to just the motherboard, but I'm not sure how that cable attaches to it.
Thanks
The ribbon cable is soldered on.
I have been told it is not a very difficult job.
I have the broken power button issue but I am hesitant in replacing the cable as I don't trust my soldering skills.
Perhaps I will replace the whole motherboard.
Have you had any luck with this issue? What did you do- replace the motherboard?
