Im facing battery problem with my HTC XE
It will not charge to 100% It only charge to the 91% and then green led says its full.
I was on custom ROMS like VenomS , Elegancia but same problem.
Then i get back to stock and same problem remains. I got brand new battery to see if problem still exists but phone
will not charge new battery. It says directly FULL but i cant even start the phone with new battery so it must be empty.
Battery is HTC OEM BA S780
I contacted HTC and they told me to send the phone for repair or replace.
But before send it did someone know what is wrong?
I even tryed ti wipe all stats and everyting when i was rooted but nothing helps.
Thanks for the answers.

Hi,
How long did you leave it on charge after 91% ?
Mine used to get to that point and go green.
I would leave it on charge and it eventually reached 100%
mine shows green led when it is at 99%
after a few time it shows 100% hehe

YEah but something is wrong. It will not charge my brand new battery at all?
Cant even start the phone with my new battery. It lights up green directly and wont charge.
I think there is an issue with the phone.
My friend have an XE and his charging into 100 and its 1 year old.
But if it was not an issue then HTC shouldnt tell me not to send it in for repair.

Hi. I have a S-OFF'd, T-Mobile USA Sensation, Im using Leedroid Sensational 1.0 (cwm 4.0.1.5). My phone died, I tried to reboot it, it did turn on for a few seconds. When trying to charge it, it flashes the led light quickly, progressively becoming slower, then the screen flashes white then sits at a blank, black screen for a few seconds, then seems to turn off (screen turns off and led light stops showing up). The device doesnt get hot, so it cant be the charger overheating. I also cant boot into HBOOT. Any ideas?
EDIT: Left it on the charge all night, still does not turn on, it's got to be that the charging issue is still present (or actually, worse) in CWM 4.0.1.5.
EDIT2: I have tried rebooting it via adb, but the computer doesn't detect it.
Do u have cwm 4.0.1.5

I have the 4.0.1.5 recovery and my phone wont even charge now (offline). I doesnt have enough juice to even power up so now im screwed.

Yes CWM 4.0.1.5
Mine did this out of the box, I'm just now trying to get something out of it. Otherwise this pos is going back to htc...
Its worth mentioning that there is a red infared type light above "htc" that fades with the red l.e.d.

Yes, I have the same issue as of this morning. After installing new CWM. It was charging fine before. Last night I let the battery discharge completely and had it on the charger all night.
When I woke up the LED light was off. Upon unplugging the charger and plugging it back in the LED light blinks (orange) a few times and then it goes off.
I can't turn the phone on at all.
EDIT: Looks like it's the issue with the latest CWM. Here is another thread with the same problem.

Think this would work? It charges the battery externally.
Yea it would work externally, provided your battery is ok... Buy a battery just to be sure. They have always come with atleast a trickle of charge in my past experiences. If it boots, flash the stock pyramid ruu. If not, id say either the new battery is dead (rarely) or your sensation is dead. Or buy an external charger, then send it for repair.

Reading other users posts, I think this is an issue from CWM 4.0.1.5, not a hardware issue, but thanks for letting me know.
Im currently rocking the same setup thanks for letting me know about this ill keep an eye on my battery life. Until ClockWorkMod fixes itt
Yup same issue here. Will be buying new battery and/or battery charger to resolve.

I bought a few batteries and an external charger just in case my battery is also fried, although be aware that most of them on the net look like cheap china batteries, so they probably aren't actually 1600MAh.
I honestly think this is BS. It's costing me $16 just to get my phone to boot, I hope Koush or someone else can actually fix the charging issue by CWM 4.0.1.6.
Definitely CWM issue. If your battery is completely discharged, as mine was this morning, here is how to charge your battery without the phone.
It does work. I just charged mine enough to boot up.

Hello everyone, yesterday evening, return home and I realize that the cell is turned off, think "will discharge the battery," put in office, at which point the LED turns on and off then after 5 / 6 flashes then stays on for 5 seconds back other to blink 3 times and then turn off everything completely but the phone does not want to re-ignite. I tried to remove battery and was in charge all night but nothing to do, no signs of life.
anyone have any ideas?
though unfortunately had to serve as a service bought in germany sensation with vodafone branding, those who contact the warranty?
thanks to all who will be able to give me a help
Sorry for English greetings
Which clock work mod are you running? some people are having trouble charging while the phone is turned off because of clock work mod, you will need to buy a new battery or charge the battery in another sensation long enough so you can turn the phone on and charge it. Hope this helps!

+1 My thoughts exactly. Currently using CWM 5.0.1.0 and have no problems. Died out the battery completely and was able to pull a charge and have it show via LED.
Hello and thanks for your response, recovery, if I remember correctly is 4.1 and something.
SOLVED! for all to hear:
I took a cable "that I had the ugliest" I cut and I got the black and red wires, attached to the battery manually "on the red positive" and "negative black" to give a little charge and after a while I put battery in the phone is finally on again ....

u should never let ur battery get to low,,, keep it charged... leave it alone for awhile..
Did someone find a solution to this? A friend of mine's One S had exactly the same issue..Also recharged for something like 5-6 hours but never turned on again..suggestions?
Only thing you can try is to boot into 'Fastboot' and try reboot from there, not saying it will work but worth a try cuz mine did the same thing 2 days ago and mine was cuz battery dropped lower than 2% while messing around on computer

Are you using cwm recovery? If so boot into fastboot and flash twrp. There is a bug with cwm that won't boot the phone while the battery is dead...the led light just flashes and occasionally you will get the screen flash. Unplug the phone from charger and pc, hold volume down + power to enter bootloader then plug into pc to fastboot the twrp recovery.

I had the same problem a loooooooooooooong time ago. Plug it in, wait for it to have a solid orange LED. Then try to power it on. If that doesn't work, give it a couple more minutes then do a soft reset. If that doesn't work, then you, sir, have a very plush paperweight.

I just googled to see if the One S had any other LED colours except for green, orange and amber, because I would like to customise them as well, and I saw this thread on the results. Sadly, green, orange and amber is my lot

I mean... Come on, even though RIM/BlackBerry are in millions of pounds in the red they still fit 16,000,000 colour LEDs. We as HTC users are stuck with three.
Resolved?

Unplug your phone, soft reset, go to fastboot, flash twrp recovery and enjoy your phone .
Same problem here I was having random reboots screen frezzing black no response when on fully charged I some how got it fastboot and ran the ics ruu thinking it would fine again since it was stock it worked fine for one day I did update to official tmob jb it stared again except this time it died on full battery finally it just gave out would no longer showing any indication of charging or powering on I sent the phone back to tmo relocked and unrooted and they sent me a new one

I have changed my battery with the battery of the One X+ of 2100 mah, if you read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1888741 many people have succesfully done this, anyway in my case the battery was completly discharged ( zero power ) and when I plug the phone to the charged I got this exact situation: orange blinking led with the screen flashing sometimes. I can enter inside fastboot with the charget pluged it but I cannot start the device. I have left the phone connected to the charger for a lot of hours but it doesn't charge. What can I do?
I pluged my phone in lastnight to charge woke up and it wont do anything. no led on charger. no power on , no nothing, how does a phone just brick like that? everything was working fine. it was all stock no root no nothing as if it came fresh out of the box....can anyone shed some light on it?

I havnt tried it yet I only know one person with the same phone so waiting on him.
i had the same prob in a way while back. what it turned out to be was my htc cable that came with phone had went bad. If you have another phone charger that will plug into phone try that. batter may just be totally dead. when i got up the next morning phone was about to die, and the cable was the problem. something easy to check
I've tried everything new cables new battery.... Even changed the sim cover and battery cover door.... I was able to get another inspire bu is like to get that back up and running if possible

Man !!!! This is obvious.
When your Battery is toooooooo low then phone can't boot, so orange light blinks means Battery is collecting some power to boot at least. It will take 2-3 minutes, then orange light will get stable. Means now you can boot your device.
This is NORMAL !!!

You can also boot in recovery and clear your battery stats then make two cycles charging/full discharging, as the charging time is 8h+
