i am running beanstalk on both my infuses as of last night, once i get my sIII i will be running it on there as well, by far my favorite ROM to date

All my JB ports are running scott as base rom...

Running Beanstalk on my ATT Galaxy SIII (SGH-I747)

I think the real question is who in the infuse section isn't . Wrong section btw
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app

I would speculate that around 75% of all Infuses are running the latest and greatest, while the others are either stock or a GB port of some sort.
I have 2 Infuses, both run JB but the old lady doesn't want me flashing over her current firmware, RemICS-JB (2/23). I showed her all the new features in the current build, yet she is steadfast and wants to keep it. She will update when one is available though... (hint hint)

I cant get my wife off GB (Emancipation), doesn't want to deal with having to turn bluetooth on and off as needed.
I can't wait to see what fruit Scotts kernel project bares (fingers crossed), hoping for a bluetooth drainage fix and phone ringtone through headphones. 720p would be cool but not a priority for me.
Needless to say I think the point of this thread is about 99% of us non-code magicians would be lost without Scotts hard work and dedication to the Infuse.

most, if not ALL 4.2.2 infuse4g roms are based on his unofficial cm 10.1. including all of my roms

Haha... I just noticed this was in here...
BTW... I am running one of his builds.

ics on captivate

when captivate user will get icecream sandwick update.will it be this year or next year or we will not get that update at all
Captivate will not get ICS at all. Gingerbread will be the end of the line for captivate.
not necessarily
it will never see a official captivate release
but an ICS port would not surprise me.

the captivate still has some class developers working on it so I am sure we will see advances,, hoping for major ones,, ICS does not seem at all out of reach

I don't have a link readily available, but there was recently an official announcement that basically said most if not all Gingerbread phones will get ICS.
Edit: That being said, I have no doubt there will be an unofficial version well before any official release. Particularly if you're waiting on your carrier to release it.
Edit #2: found one: http://www.techradar.com/news/phone...es/nexus-s-set-for-android-4-0-update-1034855
I'd be shocked if AT&T and Samsung released 4.0 for a phone that has been on the market already for ~15 months. I think our best bet will be a port from the Nexus S or CyanogenMod
Im pretty sure the announcement meant only phones that shipped with gingerbread on them.
CM9 will be just fine for me.

Google said that a phone should get updates up to 18 months after release

since ics has been (sorta) ported to sgs i9000 how plausible would it be to port it to the captivate?

If you guys end up bricking then I will sell you my skyrocket on the cheap because this phone and I just don't get along that well anymore ever since Samsung disappointed me.
Of course right now there aren't any good options to leave to so please don't brick right now. Maybe when the note 2 comes out lol

Favorite ROM for Infuse?

Hey everyone... I'm sure this question has been asked 1,000 times but I was just wondering - in terms of best range / signal / stability - what is the current "best" ROM? I feel like it's a toss up between Aeon or Zeus (currently using Zeus) and I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything.
Thanks!
O I dont know.....
Plus look at all these themes, Mikig put together, and extras. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656709

i ran the 07/22 build of cm 9 for months with no problems with signal or range. ive been running cm10 for like 3 days and just updated to the 08/11 build tonight and have had no problems with range or signal as of yet.
I ran stock UCLB3 for a long time, because a lot of custom roms aren't very stable. However I flashed to CM10 (the 8/11 version) yesterday and it's AMAZING! so fast and smooth. I did have bluetooth audio fail on me once but i just toggled it off and on again and it works fine now. Give it a try!

My favorite rom is whatever I am using at the moment. I used MIUI for several months and really liked it. Right now I am using:

I loved MIUI when I had the infuse it's fast and very customizable kept me entertained for a long time, endless themes and opportunity and super stable if you get 2.3 ^^
I liked Zeus too. very stable and battery saver I love anything by dman3285.
Oh look... THiS thread again. =P
CM10 is truly great.
Even better, though, is ParanoidAndroid.
It's basically CM10 with extra features. =D

Flashed my first rom last night

I wanted more then GB on my Infuse and after a year I decided to take the plunge and install Carbonrom. Have to admit I was quite nervous about the whole process although I spent so much time on here reading all I could about kernels and roms and everything involved in the process that I felt I knew what I was doing.
Had problems getting cwm to install so followed one thread on here to flash GB Infuse kernel and voila, red cwm. Took a breather and decided to go for it and installed Carbon and gapps. Everything went so smoothly and I feel like I now have a new Infuse phone running JB 4.2.2
Sending a shoutout to all on XDA for all the info that helped so much in understanding all involved in these procedures and a shoutout to the devs of Carbon. Nice to have a carbonized Infuse that's up-to-date.
P.S. Also picked up a copy of XDA's book. Thanks guys and keep rocking :good:
i would like to congradulate you on taking that first step tward bettering your device
Congratulations. It's pretty cool once you get the mechanics down. And as you go along, you realize there is a lot put into these ROMs.

congrats, I was the same way when I first rooted my infuse and installed my first custom rom, which I think was blackhole back then. I spent about a month researching the whole process. Now I am running the Cyber SGSIV 8.0 rom on my infuse which I am loving at the moment.
Very cool. I remember when I first flashed a phone. It was Windows something or other on an HTC tilt. Man it was sketchy at first. Congrats on taking the first step to your phone's freedom!
