If you have any plans on possibly selling the phone down the line? I'd slap a screen protector on it. You can get 10 for a dollar from China. If you plan on running the phone into the ground and don't care about selling it for any decent amount of cash down the line, don't worry about it.
Also, gorilla glass may be tough, but a single grain of sand rubbed the wrong way can scratch it.

Personal I would choose it, even if it is a scratch-free glass
The screen protectors do not stick verygood on the curved glass. You keep on getting dust under the protector in the corners.
Nope, screen protectors are useless for a phone with Gorilla Glass.
Spend your money elsewhere.
I used to have screen protector for over a year, few days ago i removed it and man... my screen never looked better it's like getting a new phone
I work in an relatively dusty environment. no screen protector. 15 months down the line.. screen is pristine. once a month clean it with a microfiber cloth or a soft cotton
cloth removes all smudges. I've even kept keys and phone in the same pocket while riding a bicycle. No scratch on screen. Luckily had a case which protected the body.

I use to screen protector, but I removed it.
Its all on the user of the phone. You can get them dirt cheap on the Internet. So why not keep your screen looking brand new.

Our sensation has a good screen, it sustains a lot of crap without a scratch, in depends on the conditions but for normal use, it would be reducing the quality of the visibility .

I removed screen protector, because it did annoy me. swiping was quite unpleasant. (maybe bcoz of low quality?)
I belive this phone is too old for screen protectors
Screen protectors are a total waste of money with this device, and an hindrance with most others.

i prefer to use screen protector. screen is godd, but is better use a screen
However it suits you.
I mean, a dollar for 6 - 10 pieces... it's hardly a waste of money. Me? I use a screen protector and a case because I often switch cases (work, free time, Crossfit) and i realy hate any kind of scratches and other kind of prints so i wipe the phone here and there.
Hello and from me. I have my htc xe 2 months and use screen protector. I think that looses on touch. Also use pull tab cover. Think to stop use them. Cover is enough

Since the M2 has Gorilla Glass...is it necessary to have a screen protector on it?

Check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936911.
Personally I haven't use protector for M1 and don't use it for M2 as well. Newer had any issue without it.
There isn't a need to apply a screen protector for m2 since it has gorilla glass.
The only instance which i think you would need a screen protector is if you carry your m2 in a pocketful of nails, which isn't probably the brightest idea.
Go ahead and youtube for gorilla glass, there's plenty of video of the gorilla glass being able to take plenty of abuse
OK cool. I guess screen protectors are pretty much uselss on a GG screen.
theres really no point using a screen protector on gorilla glass screen as many have said. however if u still want too, spend a few dollars getting one that will not affect the sensitivity of the screen
personally speaking, i never had a screen protector on my X1, and that didnt have GG, and it help up very well to my daily abuse for 2 years, hence i didnt bother getting one for my MS2

honestly speaking mate, no scratches at all. the rest of the phone is in pretty bad shape ie chips and dents and cracks but the screen is as good as new
I use screen protectors for ALL/ANY phone, "Gorilla Glass" or not, seen as I believe all phone screens can get scratched one way or another. Also, I found dat they never effect the functionality of da phone, and in some cases improve it, for example on da Xperia X10 & original Milestone. Gonna check out "Gorilla Glass" on YouTube anyway doe.

There not a urgent need to use screen protector due to the gorilla glass but does have some advantages:
- fingerprint free screen protector such as those from steinheil reduces the need to keep wiping your phone. I used both the crystal clear and the fingerprint free version, and personally really like the fingerprint free one although it does "blur" the display a little bit but only if I hold the phone right up to my face.
- the gorilla glass could still shatter, depending on the angle of fall. I know someone who had his screen shattered, but still continues to use it cracks and all. and it's still okay because the screen protector kept the screen in shape and protects the sliding fingers from the cracks.
I have an OtterBox screen protector on my device and it works flawlessly. I also have a Skinomi on reserve, so when I need to replace the OtterBox screen protector, I can. But Skinomi is by far the best on the market as of right now.
I must be unlucky then, cause having my ms2 in my pocket (with nothing in it) and pulled it out to find a small scratch - now have about 3 or more decent scratches on the screen. I've had it fall face down on pebbles and come out wthout a single scratch, but apparently lint and cotton are lethal for it... go figure :S.

so far I have used milestone 2 for more than one year ,there is not any scars in the screen
so I think there is no need to buy the screen protector just use the phone with care
I had Milestone 1 for a year with no scratches on the Gorilla glass.so it is not necessary to buy a screen protector for M 2.
I dont use screen protector too... But i want some good case on my MM2... Do you have a case? Any to recomend?
Sry for my Eng.
yeah, i was looking for a case/screen protector but i couldn't find any to fit it,
the slide kb seems to be a problem in those cases
I use the OtterBox case (includes screen protector), it fits very well and protects the phone

Not easily scratched.
The screen protector takes away from the beautiful viewing of the screen and (I don't care what anyone says) lessens the touch screen responsiveness.
I had a screen protector on my HD2 for a while, and have not been happier since removing it. And I've had Invisibleshield, BodyGuardz and BSG. They all lessen the experience. Since removing the screen protector on my HD2, I have not had a single scratch. And that's after 3 months or less with the screen protector on and 9 months or more with it off.
And what the HD2 has is not as good as what the Sensation will have in Gorilla Glass.
Don't use lame screen protectors man...
I used them on my HD2 like Darnell_Chat_TN for like 3months. Now almost 8 months later I still have 0 scratches on my naked HD2. You just need to look out if you put it in your pocket with keys etc.
I've got a Thunderbolt which is said to have gorilla glass, but some users are still reporting the glass to be getting scratched. There are some very clear screen protectors which you wont even notice on. I recommend you place a screen protector on. Realook is what I've got on mine.
Well I never knew it, but the HTC HD2 does have Gorilla Glass. No wonder the screen is so strong.
No screen protector for me and loving it . Now I know I won't use one on the Sensation after seeing the difference with my HD2!
I think the screen protector on my G2x is one reason I didn't see the brilliance of the IPS/LED screen as much as it was hyped. Had one on my Nexus One before I had the screen replaced for the first time (dust, still a problem).
My wife's Nexus One has endured a LOT of purse-abuse and doesn't really show it. It's amazing how people can scratch these modern screens in daily use.
look in this thread at the screen protectors link. i couldnt link directly as i dont have enough posts.

I am one of the people who likes to be extra careful. Besides, I've seen various types of damage inflicted on the supposedly scratchproof Gorilla Glass, and I just don't buy into the claims made by the company. More durable than conventional glass? Sure it is. Indestructible? Definitely not.
I'll definitely be slapping a screen protector on my Sensation.
+1 for a protector. I am over protective of my devices and it shows. I take the case and screen screen protector off and it's practically brand new.
I take such good care of my stuff that I have a regular clientele of friends and family who buy my old phones off me, because they tell me it's like buying the phone new.
Shouldn't be calling people lame for wanting to protect their stuff. Not everyone on these forums upgrades their phone every 6 months.
Has anyone got a screen protector on their Sensation? I'm just wondering if the bevelled screen effects it.
I use the Boxwave ClearTouch Crystal screen protector on my HD2. I tried about 4 other brands and the Boxwave works best for me. Screen is almost as vibrant with the screen protector as it is without one and the touch sensitivity is fine. It also seemed to be easier to install than the other protectors I tried.

Gorilla Glass is not 100% scratchproof ( Proven on my HD2)
well It is really hard to brake.
You can consider buying a nice sleeve for your phone .
It is in my opinion a better solution
What I mean : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql37A-SgA3A
There is really no need for a screen protector. Care for your phone. It after all a remarkable peace of technology. Not just a toy.
Although I f you want a toy just get a Samsung.
100% Genuine plastic toy feeling.
bought a gel case with screen protector. the screen protector didnt fit. shame as the case is perfect. managed to drop phone on floor by accident outside. not a mark on the screen. will still get screen protector though.

I bought the HTC screen film however the sides around the screen as its kinda lipped up would not apply correctly (bubbled up). Remove this after a few days and found a desire protector, applied it successfully, however obviously its a bit short. bought a case from ebay and it came with a protector, which covers the screen but does not go all the way to the edge, stuck on well and no apparent "bubbles". its ok quality. case is ok silicon case
The other thing I like about the screen protector I have on my HD2 (Hence my preference for screen protectors, is that the matte finish cut down the reflections on the reflective screen. That and I'm a klutz!

Ah yes.......pinger frints
I've read online that you can use the 3m 06070 finishing compound with a microfiber cloth to polish out scratches. The screen on my Sensation is scratched from the rivets on my jeans, and I'm thinking of doing the above. It's just that the 3M solution is so expensive and may not work. Maybe do a group buy?
Just put a cheap screen protector on it. It'll mask the scratch when it's applied with the gunk stuff on the back. Cheap as chips off eBay or a local cheap phone accessory place.
Also makes getting "pinger frints" off a lot easier.
It'll help to protect it from your riveted jeans.
I got a ghost armor recently and its seems to hide my scratch pretty well. When the screen is off I cant see the scratch at all. When the screen is on the scratch is much less noticeable. Still don't know how I scratched mine up. I had it for 2 weeks and kept in a dedicated pocket. Gorilla glass is a joke.

True. Screen in HD2 is way better scratch resistant that famous gorilla glass which I scratched in empty pocket after one weeke of use. What a crap.

Just as a matter of interest, is the Gorilla Glass integral with the screen itself or a separate component?
I know from a thread I read some time back there there are different SLCD manufacturers, so I was just wondering if it's related to a specific manufacturer.
It's not related to display. Glass is a different part. Gorilla glass is just the way glass was treated, basically top layer of glass was made more dense hence increased scratch resistance. Just look up what is gorilla glass on google.

Are screen protectors worth it? Or do they just leave smudges in the future when you take them off? I found a nice case on amazon that I'm going to buy for my infuse, I'm trying to figure out if screen protectors are worth it?
Anybody?
The Naked Shield screen protector came highly recommended by a folk here on the forums. You can either get the full cover or just the screen (I got the screen with the body glove TPU case)
and it won't leave smudges, affects screen quality, but not by much if at all.
edit: Got mine for $3.75 on ebay ($7.00 for the body glove case)
Thanks,
I'm just going to get the Amzer Silicone Skin Jelly Case, looks nice enough for a casing. I'm not going to use a screen protector though. I just don't want to leave any marks on the screen if it does.
I've found that unless you put your phone in your pocket with keys that you don't really need a screen protector.

These thread are kind of pointless. I can understand the value of asking which screen protector or case protector is or are better.
It will cost you $5 to protect a $400+ piece of equipment.
What happens if your phone does get scratched...too late for a screen protector.
Gorilla glass DOES get scratched.
Apply a matt screen protector or a good quality one done the right way and you wont even notice it.
Your assuming that there are no downsides of having a protector. All though screen protectors are cheap and work well. They do affect the screen quality regardless of how well you put it on and its quality. It's personal opinion on how much it affects it though.
IMO it doesn't hurt it too much and I have one on.

If you're still looking for a screen protector I have the naked shield one. I just put it on my phone and it is great. It adds a rubbery finish but still slick when sliding. Unless you do a perfect application the screen does get imperfections that are noticible when looking at off angles (head on in low light it is not noticible)
I have an application with no bubbles and no dust and it looks great. But it is noticible.

Hmmm, very interesting features of Zagg's protectors. But is it glossy or matte? I really don't like fingerprints on the sun, so matte protector may reduce this paintbrush effect

i'm using one, at first it will feel like your thumb sticks and hard to swipe, but that's just because its new. after that it will feel as if you're touching your actual screen again. i recommend you use it. i know the sensation has corning gorilla glass, but that didn't stop some little scratches from getting onto my screen.
i didn't get what you meant by "glue"...as it's not glue, it's just some sort of a magnetized sheath, i don't know what it's called exactly. so if you didn't want the screen protector anymore, it's pretty easy to take off. no worries.
Thanks i will try it

No screen protector, no case. It's how phones were designed to be used.
most screen protector don't have glue on it. because of sensation curvy glass, you will get bubble at the four corners.
so you'll be better of with the one with glue. later if you need to change it, just use damp cloth to wash off the glue.

Actually with some practice you can reduce the bubbles, I only have one tinnny one of the top right curved part of the screen.
As for screen protectors as a general they are useful, the second I stuck one on the loved the feel of the screen and still do. However make sure you get a good brand, my current one is fill of scratches and then as I use my phone some grease or oil whatever it is gets into the cracks and then it all turns to ***t.

Hi personally I use Skinomi, its self healing, Lifetime guarantee, crystal clear, and a LOT Less expensive than Zagg , I do the wet install. Dries without streaking or bubbles ! It's amazing. Tough but made for touchscreen. Does not interfere with sensitive touchscreen. I really love the fact it's self healing because if you get a scratch, it heals right up and you cannot see it anymore! This screen protector is long lasting ! Best protector I've ever tried! I think protectors Are great because this device is expensive and one slip or mistake and it CAN get scratched! It's worth protecting your device! Because scratches WILL happen and is its best to scratch protector rather than the device! I think you will love SKINOIMI! Just follow the directions provided. I was amazed at the quaility of this product. Also the price is right! I think you tube has a video of installation if you like to watch. I'll never use anything but Skinomi Again! Highly recommend this product!
