Transfer Android contacts to nokia Symbian or S40
Thanks a million. This is really helpful for me. There are several ways to transfer Android contacts to Nokia Symbian. The post provides me with a new idea, which is more convenient.

Searched a lot for doing this and found this at last.
Thanks a ton man :good:

Thanks, worked superb with Nokia N82 (S60 v3)
Worked superb. Didn't bother with PC Suite, though. After had the multiple VCF folder, just copied .vcf files to ExtSD Card -> Other -> Contacts and selected 'Import' option in Contacts. Many thanks, bru

Syncronizing Outlook calendar with .pst

Hi guys!
I need yous help or comments here.
I have PPC WM6, Outlook 2003.
I have downloaded a .pst file for a sports tournament here in South Africa.
I have imported it to my Outlook calendar, and the appointments appear on my PC, but does not sync to my PPC.
I saw something about a PPC not being able to sync personal files etc.
I wanna know, is there an easy way to get the PPC to sync the Appointments to my PPC. I saw some software and stuff, but not sure if there is a easy way to do it?
Can someone help here??
Thanks guys!
I have included a Screenie of how my setup looks! Thanks!
Anyone that can help with this please!
I think there should be some thing in Outlook configuration for selecting your main synce source files. may be outlook only sync your ppc with your default pst file.

Thats indeed what happens.
But how do i get that part of the Calender to sync with the main .pst?
I did in once before, but i used a different .pst file, i think that was configured to link upto the main pst.
Its strange, becuase this .pst that i loaded for the sports event created a second type of calendar, i dont know how to set it to sync with main!
Any ideas??
Thanks guys!
As I understand it, ActiveSync, will only sync the default folders in your OutLook account, i.e. the ones in your exchange server. However, you can specify to Outlook to deliver new mail, appointments, etc. to a pst file automatically, thus making the folders (calendar, contacts, mail, etc.) in the pst file available for syncing to the PPC. This is they way I have setup my PC at the moment. Merely "importing" the pst file to Outlook will not change the default folders that are used to deliver new items and to sync with the exchange server and the PPC. This is why you can see the 2 calendars side by side. If you only want to have some specific appointments made available to the PPC I would recommend just copying them to the default calendar folder.

Hi!
Where is the default calender folder located?
Thanks alot!
(If i copy this .pst to that folder, will it sync??)
Thanks
I'm afraid is not that simple... In the screenshot my PST folders (personal) are on top and my default Outlook Folders are below. In your case your default folder is "CALENDAR" and your PST Folder is "Super 14". Simply copying the folder inside outlook will just create a "Calendar2" folder below the default one. The easiest way would be:
1. Open the "Super 14" Calendar which contains the appointments you want to sync to the PPC.
2. Change the VIEW to "ALL APPOINTMENTS".
2. Then, EDIT -> SELECT ALL.
3. Now you can either EDIT->COPY and EDIT->PASTE them into your "CALENDAR" folder OR move (EDIT->MOVE TO) them there. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT ONCE THEY ARE MOVED IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THEM FROM THAT CALENDAR, OR TO RETURN THEM TO OLD ONE.
Try it first with a couple of appointments and see if you can sync them to the PPC.
Make a copy of your PST file first, so you can go back if it gets screwed up.

Copying Contact From Desktop/Laptop To Andorid is Now Possible

1). Create a new folder on desktop - name = contacts
2). We need all our contacts in .Vcard file. (See below how to get .vcard file)
Now copy this contact folder to your memory card (S.D) of your mobile.
Now go to contacts --- (Android)
click menu button - Import contact from SD card.
All most done !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to get .vcard file.
In Microsoft outlook --- Contacts --- Select 20-30 contacts at a time, right click the mouse -- Select Send full contact ---> In Internet Format (.Vcard)
Now it will open new email. And you will found all .vcard files in attachment just cut and copy it to the contacts folder created at desktop.
But this is the slow option, we have to do it again and again if we have many contacts because it do not send more than 30 contacts at a time.
Something is better than nothing !!!!!
(BUT ON TOP OF THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE CONTACTS SAVED ON YOUR PC OR LAPTOP SO THAT YOU CAN USE THEM TO COPY IN MOBILE.

[Q] Transfer contacts/sms from K310i to OmniaII

Hi,
I would like help in how to transfer my contacts and sms messages from my sony ericsson K310i (Java based) to Samsung I8000 OmniaII (Windows Mobile based).
As for transfering contacts, i tried copying all my contacts to sim in my K310 then copy to phone on the I8000, i get weird entries in the form
LastName;FirstName/M (M: for mobile, W for work)
and it recognizes all that as a single name, i.e. if i want to edit the contact, LastName;FirstName/M will all be in the First Name field.
I think there might be a solution using K310 and a PC but i don't have a data cable and it's hard to get one currently.
Any help would be appreciated.
transfer contacts to Omnia II
if you can save your K310i contacts to a .vcf (vcard ) file then there's a windows mobile utility "vcard expert" available from the microsoft & samsung app stores that will transfer your contacts onto your Omnia II with correct formatting.
You could send this vcf file as an attachment in email to yourself then save the attachment to your device and load into the app. So you wouldn't need any data cables to do the transfer.
Thank you for your reply, it helped even if not directly. i forgot to say that i'm missing the K310i data cable not the OmniaII one (so its impossible to export contacts from K310i as the only option available is via infrared), but your info regarding .vcf files gave a new terms to my google searches.
I found an old infrared adapter. I tried first the option to export via infrared from the K310i and got a .vcf file, which when imported in outlook gave me just the first contact (although i opened in a notepad and saw all contacts there), any solutions there?
I then managed to use "My Phone Explorer" to sync contacts with outlook, then sync OmniaII with new contacts.
Now the only thing remaining is that i need to transfer my messages to the phone. My phone explorer can export messages in .sms/.csv/.txt file formats. I tried imobiletool sms backup to restore a .sms/.csv files but without luck (the WM program will not even see the file. and the pc program will give "file validation error" when tried to import). Any insight as how to import .sms messages?
Edit: I found a program that can split the single vcf file into multiple files each one for a contact, callud suppcom vcard splitter. still outlook has no right to refuse the single vcf file!
Edit: Its damn annoying that all the SMS backup/restore programs i found only restore backups created by the same program...sigh, is there no standards or compatibilty between programs??
Anyone have a solution to transfer sms to windows mobile phone, please?

[GUIDE] Moving from iCloud contacts on iPhone to Google Contacts on Android

I'm about to receive my new S4 in about 2 hours (exciting!) after having used an iPhone 3GS for quite some years now. I figured it would be a good idea to already read up on how to properly move to Google instead of using iCloud. After having quite a few guides I've come to the conclusion most of them way too confusing. There is no need to install any apps to move your contacts, for example.. All of these things can be done through the web, if you already have a Google account. So, if you don't have a Google account yet you really should set one up.. Android without a Google account is pretty useless, it's like an iPhone without an Apple account (is that even possible?)
Exporting contacts from iCloud to vCard
First things first, login to iCloud with your Apple account: https://www.icloud.com/
Select "Contacts"
Click on the little gear at the bottom left
Select "Select All"
Click on the gear again and select "Export vCard"
Save the file somewhere
Importing vCard into Google Contacts
Login to your Gmail: https://gmail.com
Under the Google logo click on "Gmail" and select "Contacts"
Click "More"
Select "Import"
Select the vCard file you just downloaded from iCloud
That's it!
It's a good idea to have this vCard file as a backup anyway, save it in Dropbox or something just in case. My iPhone once decided to delete all my contacts when I tried to switch it from iCloud to Google Contacts. Instead of doing a two way sync it only did a one way, from Google->iPhone.. Considering my Google Contacts list was empty it proceeded to delete all my contacts on my iPhone (seriously Cupertino?!)
it's useful for me, thanks
welcome to android, you will notice the difference!
I used google to do that. If you sync with google all your contacts in your phone, they will be already there when you setup your google account in the S4.
Why not have a try the Coolmuster iPhone Backup Extractor to help you? It works well.
Here's a guide about extracting contacts from iCloud.
Step 1 Log in iCloud
Open icloud.com on your computer with browser. Then, sign in your iCloud account.
Step 2 Select Contact Item
Once you successfully login iCloud, you will see all data categories like mail, calendars, notes, reminders, pages, keynote and so on. Click into "Contacts" menu.
Step 3 Extract Contacts from iCloud
You can select only one contact and extract. You can also press "Ctrl+A" (Windows) or "Command +A" (Mac) to select all contacts. Then, hit the wheel gear icon at the bottom-left corner and choose "Export vCard" option. Modify the name of the .vcf file and click "Save" button at the lower-right corner. Now, you can check the extracted contacts file on your computer and transfer it to Android devices.
I hope this guide can do any help.

[Q] Manual Backup of Contacts to PC for Nokia Lumia 920

I have a Nokia Lumia 920 (Windows Phone 7.8) and need to backup the contacts from the device to the PC. I don't want to sync it with a Microsoft account or use an app or do anything like that. What I need is a way to backup the contacts a computer. Does anyone know of something that could help me do that? If you have any other solutions please list those too. One thing I did see on a different thread was the "WP7 Easy Backup tool Beta" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379571&nocache=1). I thought this might work but the download link wouldn't work; just gave this error message: "404 - File or directory not found."
I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
My Lumia 900 upgraded from 7.8 with 7.10.8862.144 OS Bluetooth allowed me to pair to my LG 90 with CM11 and seamlessly transferred about 600 or contacts if that helps at all. It however does not support sharing internet that way.
@arahmy Lumia 920 is WP8, not 7.8 and you cant use any WP7.8 tool because WP8 not full unlocked (jailbreak)
to backup live contacts (from microsoft account) go to https://people.live.com and login with your account.. select Manage and export for Outlook and other... you get CSV file with contacts...
for import to Android go to https://mail.google.com/mail/#contacts select "more" and import CSV file
