Transfer contacts from Nokia 6600 to MDA II(Sorry if it has been answered earlier)

Hi,
Need to know as to how to transfer contacts from my Nokia 6600 to MDA II. I tried all Forums but couldn't find a solution for the same. Should we do it manually or do we have a tool to do the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sync both with outlook would prob work

I used PC Suite for Nokia 6600 to Sync it with Outlook, and the end result was disgusting all i got was my Outlook contacts getting added to my Nokia I had to manually delete them all over again. I repeat, Is there a way to transfer my Phone contacts from Nokia 6600 to my MDA II.

I did this some few years back and cannot remember exactly and I can't re-try it now.
From my memory in my head, Sync the Nokia with PC (not outlook, just normal sync) is step 1, and I think you search the Nokia directories, you should able to see your contacts are all in *.VCF format or somehow it could be exported to *.vcf format.
Copy all this *.vcf files to your hardisk.
You can either double click on this *.vcf files one by one in
1. PC and it goes to your outlook which you can sync with PPC later or
2. PPC and it goes to Contact.

Something which I never tried, Infra-red or Bluetooth the 2 device directly?

As Rudegar suggested, did some R&D and was finally able to transfer them All.....Yippeeeeeeeeee > I had a Question here, which takes precedence when we Sync up the MDA, the Outlook contacts or the Phone contacts. For e.g., I delete a contact from my Phone and do a Sync, will it get deleted from Outlook or will be re-instated from Outlook????? or do we have a setting wherein we can choose what to do???? Any thoughts folks.....

For PPC Phone, which Contact to keep can be set on both PPC & PC. Make sure both side is the same. Else both will get confused.

i recently formatted my pc as i was setting everything up i went to set up my xda orbit with my pc i connected it all up n installed windows mobile center. it then asked me to create a partnership i did this then the next thing i know its deleted all my contacts. my txt messages before format still contain the senders name but when i point it with the stylus it says to create a new contact. i have a complete backup of the my documents folder from before the format. is there any way i can retrieve my contacts details.....

Opening .msg extension of Outlook

Hi,
I use Outlook for years now and saved a lot of mails. All of this mails are saved usinf the extension .msg with unicode formatting.
On my old Windows Mobile phone I had no trouble opening this files. But my HD2 doesen't seem to be able to open them.
I tried using different applications to read the file but none of them seemed to work(using myExtension software).
I wanted to know if there was a way to read these mails on my phone?.

[Resolved] [WINMOBILE] Contacts recovery

Hey guys,
My dad his phone his screen was not responding anymore and he needed his contacts from the phone. (the device is an old htc touch). So after some research on the internet I have found a way to recover all the data (especially the contacts) from this windows mobile phone.
Why am I writing this ?
Well it seems that a lot of people have problems retrieving data from their pim.vol. Just like me I was searching for a solution and would like to share it.
What was the problem ?
Well first of all connecting to the phone was already a pain in the ass. Then recovering the data. And extracting the information out of the pim.vol.
What is the solution ?
First I tried on a windows xp and installed some drivers, but it was not working. Then I used my windows 7 and he downloaded the drivers for the phone + (and this is needed) windows device manager.
In windows device manager I syncronized the cellphone for retrieving all the data. I did not open anything because he was copying all the information into outlook. The contacts also syncronized.
After the syncronizing I opened outlook (2007) and there they were. All of the phone contacts were syncronized. Now I clicked file -> import/export.
Then I selected export to file and exported to comma seperated value (csv) (WINDOWS)
After this step I uploaded them into his gmail and they were syncronized and safe. Now if his phone crashes he always have a backup.

Copy and moving contacts on WM

Something that baffled me was contacts that went missing on my xda orbit..I now realise that the contact are on the sim as well as the phone. I have now put my sim card into my HTC HD mini but a large number of contacts are still on my xda.?
Ive searched the web....I cannot find the contacts folder on my xda using sync with PC...and I don’t want to sync the phone contacts with my outlook contact.
Can any advise how I can group all the contacts together and edit them before storing back on the HD mini.

well there should be an option to transfer your phone contacts to SIM. And then copy from SIM to your HD.
OR there are softwares to backup and restore contacts, search for Contacts backup.

Cheers, I was hoping that there was some tool to export or save contacts from the phone in say an excel format so I could manage them on the PC.
