I have been looking though the settings menu of my Motorola Razr HD LTE XT925 and see Ethernet options in the more sub menu and wanted to know if I can use a micro usb to Ethernet adapter for that? Do I need to root my phone to use it? or it is only a developer option via usb to computer?

Hi all
I am wondering if it is possible to use a 3G Datacard to provide internet to the xoom (wifi only), the same way I can connect a laptop to internet through an usb datacard device.
(as long as I know Android 3.0 does not have support for usb external devices, but 3.1 does).
Thanks in advance.
I doubt it. Your best bet would be to get a mifi. Or tether from a phone.
I have a droid x rooted to gingerbread. Apparently I don't have the "kernel". I tried the bluetooth tether and don't have it. I can connect with the 3g hack, but that is really slow. So is there any way to tether my Droid X with my TF through usb?
what is the 3g hack?
This would be nice to use. With the 3.1 update adding USB host driver it might be possible.
Hello all developers and xoom lovers,
i have a wifi only motorla xoom and a 3g usb dongle. I heard asus transformer can use usb dongle but is it possible for xoom also?
If any developer can make the way of using 3g usb dongle then it would be nice.

Hey guys. I have been having some problems with me xt926 hotspot. I got upgraded through warrenty from my original droid razr to a droid razr hd. I had a custom rom on my original droid razr and I used sqlite editor to use the verizon hotspot. It worked great on that phone. I could play online on my ps3 and everything. Now that I have my xt926 and I rooted and used the same sqlite hack to use the hotspot. The phone will connect to my laptop and ps3 but it always say limited or connected but No web pages will load with the wifi hotspot. I have also tried other wifi hotspot apps like foxfi with no luck. The only way it works is if I use the USB teather, and it works great. I would really like to get my wifi hotspot to work. Have you guys heard of this or have any suggestions?
Thanks
anyone?
I like many out there have a locked 4.4.2 phone and might be mad like me. I used WiFi tethering with the use of an app that no longer works on KitKat. Fortunately USB tethering does work with my laptop. So does anyone have any idea how to use USB tethering to a tablet on the latest ota update? My tablet is unlocked and rooted with omnirom nightly updates.

That's why I've avoided the upgrade.....but have you tried bluetooth tethering?
I have already upgraded to KitKat, and original Android WiFi Tethering (Mobile Hotspot) works pretty well.
It didn't work on Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
