Been looking for an S-View case with wallet and stand function. Finally found what I'm looking for, ordered the black. Reviews of similar Tryit cases suggest the stand is flimsy, but as I'm asking for three functions in the one case I'll accept some compromise. Anyway, I posted here in case anyone else is looking for similar.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181134511899
OK I now have the case and can confirm it's awful. Probably the worst case I've ever seen and it's not cheap.
Manufacturer Description
Problems:
* It's not actually an S-view case. It has no S-View functionality as the phone cannot detect when it is closed.
* Credit card holder slot is ridiculously tight with only one card in it.
* Stand is incredibly flimsy. They actually ship it with a spare for when the original breaks.
* Has a nice metal badge declaring "Premium Leather". In fact it's plastic and says "Synthetic Leather" on the outer packaging.
Overall the front cover slips around making it feel cheap and unstable. It feels unfinished. In short - avoid!

I just searched for this thread to the exact same thing!
Crap ... I feel so crappy about having wasted money on this and then waiting so eagerly for it to arrive.
Never ever going to get a thing of ebay again and never going to get an item unless I have actual feedback
I can only apologise to anybody who actually ordered the damn thing on the basis of me finding it in the first post. The seller helpfully informs me that nowhere in the listing does it say it has s-view functionality, and it just happens to look like an s-view case and is called a "smart view folio".
The case was actually designed for the S.Korean version of the phone with a tv aerial.
Cost to me was around £17 delivered. The seller suggests that if I don't like it I can send it back to S.Korea. Sure..... Untracked is about £5, tracked is more than the cost of the case. More fool me for buying it.
Mark, but what they say is not entirely true ...
Take for instance this image

There is no way we can accept or reject call from that screen. In fact, we never get to see dark black screen with info at anytime as shown in the images they have displayed.
They are just cheaters!!! And imagine, I bought 5 cases for myself, wife and 3 friends
I have raised a complaint with ebay. Not opening any other pack other than the one I opened to check. Will wait for a reply tomorrow and decide if I should open it or not. The least I expect is some sort of partial refund.
Good spot, the phone clearly has s-view activated in the picture. The seller sean4040ask has set out to deceive but doesn't seem interested in negotiating.
I've now left negative feedback for him. I can see he's had 4 people revise their feedback so maybe that's needed to shift him. I wouldn't trust ebay to step in as they wouldn't know s-view from special-brew. Good luck Paparasee.
Use this information at your own risk!
OK I got fed up with the lack of S-View function so spent £1.72 to fix it (mostly). You still can't answer the phone using a swipe and might end up wiping the mag strip on any credit-card you store but that's not such a big deal in the UK as we've largely switched to chip and pin.
So, I ended up with 20 neodymium magnets 4mm diameter x 0.5mm thick.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140824047605
After a bit of experimentation I found a single magnet glued onto the flap in a critical position was enough to enable s-view mode. The sweet-spot on this case has its centre 8mm down from the window and 12mm in from the edge. If you're doing this use double-sided tape to make sure it stays in s-view before you commit with superglue! If you want to use a credit-card in the slot it actually slides in and out a bit easier with the magnet there. I try to make sure the mag-stripe is away from the magnet just in case I need a fall-back.

The Surface case for the Nexus 4 is another prime example of why many people, including myself, love Seidio's cases and holsters.
The Surface Case: Seidio uses a plastic that features a "soft touch" for the case. It's relatively heavy duty case and provides much needed protection for anyone who uses their phone and are unable to "baby it" 24/7. The case slips together seamlessly to provide that added protection. The inside/back portion of the case is felt lined as well to prevent damage or broken glass.
The case is available in Black, White, Garnet Red, Amethyst and Royal Blue.
The cutouts for the ports, buttons, sensors, microphones, etc are all cut perfectly and the case does not interfere with their operation. You cannot access the SIM card tray with the case in place (to my knowledge this is pretty much the same with every case on the market). The camera and flash all function properly and are not impeded. Also, it provides much appreciated lip to the front of the phone that keeps the screen safe when placing the phone face down on a table/desk.
The case allows the phone to feel much more comfortable (both physically and mentally) when using using a shoulder to hold the phone. The best part is that I don't feel like I have to baby the phone or worry about bumping into a table while the phone is in my pocket.
The kickstand... well, I honestly feel like kickstands are a bit gimmicky. That being said I appreciate that this one is metal (not a cheap plastic). It's also spring loaded and held in place by a small magnet. It only works in landscape and does not work in portrait. Ironically, I find myself using the kickstand more times than not!
The case functions fine with SGP screen protector but does not appear like it would play nicely with screen protectors that wrap around the side of the screen. Seidio also sells screen protectors that I'm sure would work fine with their case. I've put the case on/off 25+ times since receiving it and it is holding up fine and has not scratched the chrome trim on my N4
It's worth noting that I do NOT have access to a wireless charger and cannot confirm nor deny if wireless charging functions with this case.
The Holster: I chose to get the option with the holster. The holster is, by far, one of my favorite items from Seidio. When the Surface Case is on the phone, it can be used in combination with the holster to store the phone quickly and easily and SECURELY on your belt. The phone and case snap face-in to the holster to help keep the screen clear from danger. The actual belt clip is heavy duty and swivels and "snaps" into 7 different possible positions so you can keep the holster vertical or horizontal (at either direction). There is also a felt lining on the inside of the holster to help keep your screen scratch free (though while being carried in the holster, the screen doesn't touch anything).
The charging port, volume keys, headphone jack, power key... pretty much everything but the screen... is accessible while the phone is in the holster.

Feel free to let me know if more photos are wanted/needed or if there are any questions. I'll also be working on getting a review up for their Active Case soon for anyone who may be interested.
do you have a QI wireless charger to try if it charges the phone with this case on?
saw a user feedback on Amazon that it interfere the wireless charging.
I like the design of the case, but no wireless charging is a deal breaker.
EDIT: oppss... just saw your comment again, and you did mention you have no wireless charger.
Thanks so much for this review. What a smexy case! I've been thinking of going with a holster type case, but I think I'll hold off till my next phone buy.

Haven't seen this posted here (yes, I even searched), and after Googling it, I couldn't find much other than where to buy it. No reviews or videos or anything! That's kind of unfortunate, because it certainly looks like a top notch premium case/wallet. I'm considering picking one up, although I would agree that it does seem a little pricey. On the other hand, quality does come at a price (and so does style). None of the other genuine leather wallet style cases I've seen look even remotely as nice as this one. The BoxWave does look good, and while they claim it's genuine leather, reviews point out that it is indeed faux leather. As any leather connoisseur knows, just smell it. Faux leather is a deal breaker for me. Even the Sena Magia doesn't look as classy or as high quality, yet it's self-described as a designer case, and costs just as much!
One feature about this Tuff-Luv case that really grabs my attention is the pen holder. I recently picked up the Adonit Jot Pro stylus (highly recommended, btw) so this would be perfect to always have it handy. Since I also use a Square reader on the go, I like the idea of providing my clients with a pen-like stylus when they sign for credit card payments. Also makes for a better experience when jotting notes or sketching, but anyway, I'm trailing off too much here. Point is, having the option to always have it handy is a definite plus.
So to recap: Designer quality genuine leather, beautiful design, card/money slots (could replace a wallet), pen/stylus holder, lifetime guarantee... Seems like a winner to me! Only down side is the price. What does everyone else think? Does anyone here even have this? If so, it would be great to see some input. Maybe a quick review and some real world pictures would be nice.
The only problem I see with these kind of cases - all the cards and the pen may scratch the glass.

You do bring up a couple valid points, but it does come with a screen protector - and they encourage applying it right away. Even if it's not as good as other screen protectors on the market, it would work just as well with any others. As far as the pen goes, it shouldn't touch the glass at all. If you use a pen with a clip on it, face it away from the screen to be safe. I'm sure this was a concern in the design phase.

Credit cards (assuming they're made of plastic) shouldn't scratch the glass. The principle is that an object made of a harder material will scratch an object made of a softer material. For the same reason, our fingernails cannot scratch the glass of our beloved Nexus 4. As for the pen, it appears as though the case holds the phone in place with two strips of some kind of material which covers both the left and right side of the phone. I would imagine that the pen (or stylus) would only come into contact with the inner strip of the securing strap (or whatever you'd like to call it). In either case, if I were to purchase this case, I wouldn't worry about a card or pen/stylus would scratch my phone.
tl;dr: Unless your credit cards are made of harder material than the glass on the Nexus 4, there should be no concern with the glass getting scratched.
I had one of the faux leather ones as my first n4 case. Didnt have as much wallet room as i had hoped (to be expected). But i found my biggest qualm with it to be when i had it the cover folded all the way back, it muted the speaker. I never found what I'd call "the ideal" way to hold it.

I looked around and I didn't see this case here. I wanted a wallet case but that also had the S View function. I stumbled across this on Amazon. It looked promising. But it did not live up to my expectations....
First off the packaging was just a small zip lock type bag. Never heard of this company so I'm not surprised the packaging was nothing special. The case itself looks and feels nice.

The phone is held by a TPU case that's like glued in there. I'm concerned the glue will not hold forever. It doesn't feel really solid and pulling on the flap makes me feel like I'm gonna rip the flap off of the TPU case. The TPU case covers everything and leaves cutouts for everything. Never had issues with chargers or headphones or with WatchOn. The flap that holds the credit card feels cheap. It feels like its paper thin. I was able to fit two cards but I felt like it was gonna rip so one card max to be on the safe side
The flap feels solid except for the top part where the S View is at. I haven't owned another S View case/cover so it may be how the S View is but it feels very flimsy. The full cover feels solid but the S View part bends easily and it concerns me for the condition of the case when used a lot
The case looks good on the phone. The magnet latch holds it closed for the most part and the stand works decent
However, the S View is a hit and miss. It does not shut the screen off for the most part. When you simply close it, it will not turn the screen off nor display the S View screen
You need to wiggle around the cover to where it will shut the screen off. It seems as if the cover overlaps the TPU case, it will not work. It seems like the cover needs to be placed on the phone and not on top of the TPU.
On another note, this is about the S View part of the cover. It will not stay perfectly flat. Its so flimsy that it looks like this no matter what I did
Once you find the right spot where the S View will work, you will lose it when you put it in your pocket. When you put it in your pocket and reach in to grab it, it will move the cover around, causing the cover to not be placed on the "sweet" spot where the S View works.
Also when you have one credit card in the case, the S View is COMPLETELY useless. No matter where I moved the cover, no matter how hard I pressed down to try to get the sensors to work, it will not shut off. I see this as a big flaw since it was advertised as an S View wallet case. If I can't use both at the same time, that's a big let down.
Conclusion, is it worth it? I don't know. In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend it. Only because of the issue with the S View not always functioning and the fatal flaw of the S View not working when you have a credit in the slot. I mean for less than $20, I guess my expectations were too high. All I know is I will be returning it as I am not happy with it. Hopefully this review would help someone who's considering this case

Thanks for the review was looking into buying this but I'll probably give it a miss now! Just one question though. Is the s view cut out just a hole in the case or is it like the Samsung s view window with clear plastic covering the hole?
I would recommend the Sonivo Sneak Peak Case at the following link :

Judging by its youtube review , the case does seem sturdier than this one.
At $39.99, I don't think it's worth it, but with 50% off sale going on now, I ordered one for $21 (tax included).

Its a cover, not a case. It covers the screen, and folds into a stand. Thats all it was ever meant to really do. Protect the screen when its not in use. If you think of it like that instead of 'this doesn't protect my tablet at all!', it really does what its supposed to. The magnets could be stronger (they're strong enough in the kb case,) and it could be a better design like the iPad covers, but for $20? Sure, I'll bite.
its a pile of rubbish at 100% off....
is the keyboard case any better?
I just tryed to buy it but the minute I clicked Buy the price changed to normal. GRR!

Agreed. A piece of cardboard is a bit better than this overpriced piece of trash.
I just received mine today and I got to say, I am very impressed! Both the package and the cover itself feel very premium.
The cover itself is very thin and light and therefore adds minimal weight and bulk, which I like. Why buy a light and thin device to only make it heavy and bulky with some clunky case? With that said, this is a COVER, not a case.
The magnets are stronger than I expected. The cover stays connected to the device quite well. I didn't think I could do this but it's very easy to flip it from front to back like you would a smart cover.
It's very easy to fold it into a stand. I wasn't sure how to do it at first but it just happened. The magnets definitely helped getting the parts to fold as they should.
The camera app launched very quickly when the flap is folded down. I'm not sure how often I would use this feature as I rarely use the tablet's camera but it's definitely neat.
Had I bought this at full price, I probably wouldn't be as excited. However, at $20, I am VERY happy with it.
just received mine as well. Haven't ripped the seal yet. Video to come.

Got mine couple of days ago and thought I chime in on the product.
First, I'm very glad I paid only $20 for this cover and in all honesty, I think HTC should only charge $10-$15 for this thing. My break down as below.
Design: A-
The design focused on packing in the standard cover features (cover, stands, etc.) into one simple cover. I think the did well with the folding cutouts and magnets are pretty unique.
Applicability/Usuablity: C-
Although the design concept is great, but the actual experience is far from their conceptual design. I think mostly is due to the magnet not begin strong enough on both N9 and the cover. When used to cover the front of the tablet, the magnets is very weak that you can basically slide the cover off the alignment quite easily. This is quite annoying because you then now have to adjust to how you should flip a cover open, basically, it requires you to open the cover gently so that the cover stays aligned with the tablet.
Because the magnet is not strong enough, don't expect the cover to hold on to your tablet slip out of your hand.
Value: C- (for $20) and D-- (for $40)
For 50% off coupon, it's worth a shot but I'm still left unsatisfied because my $8 bumper case (without stand capability) looks and function more sturdier than this cover.
With a $40 price tag, I say F that.
Hope this helps.

Have a link to that?
The good fellows at rooCASE have sent me their Origami case for the Nexus 9 to review. After a few weeks and of testing, here is the my review.
http://www.amazon.com/roocase-Googl...id=1437516245&sr=8-1&keywords=nexus+9+origami
Pro’s:
First up… it has to be the right price or it won’t’ work for me. MSRP on the case is $49.99, but it sells for $19.98 on Amazon. And it is quite the case, albeit not perfect, for $20.
This thing looks awesome and feels awesome (I’ll revisit feeling in a little bit). The hard shell back is a polycarbonate and is really, really solid. It looks to be a quarter inch thick in some places and thicker on the corners for when you drop it. I do like how the N9 is “pinched” into the case as it will allow for the glass screen covers and you don’t have to worry about the case grabbing on to it. I’m not a big fan of NFC, but for those of you who are… no worries, the thick case still allows for NFC transfers.

The cover is made out of polyurethane. The inside cover is like a non-slip surface so when you have the N9 standing, it won’t slide around. The multiple ways you can fold the cover (hence the name Origami) give you plenty of options for your seating position. This is a great option for those who are “road warriors”. After that, the usual stuff you get with most cases is provided such as wake/sleep, and hey… it protects the screen when closed (another topic I will revisit below)
However, looks and feel only get you so far. This case held up to being thrown in a backpack to go to work and to some soccer games just fine. However, I don’t see it as ideal for those rugged people. If you are one of those people who are consistently biking, camping, mountain climbing, sky-diving, and/or warrior against fire-breathing dragons… you may want to check out that Orb System Versa Tough case by rooCASE.
Con’s:
So let’s get back to those things I said I would revisit. First off, I stand by my words that it looks and feel awesome. However, the case does absorb oils from your hands. It takes a little bit to wipe it clean… but keep this in mind. Next thing, and probably the biggest thing is the cover itself. The non-slip surface of the inside cover also sticks to debris. So the chances of scratching the screen is there (but the case does allow for glass screen protectors). The magnets that hold the cover to the case barely, and I mean barely keep the cover closed. As you can see in the photos, the cover opens up in the middle when it is upside-down. So I highly suggest keeping this case to the office/school/home use. Do not use this case for outdoor use (beach, camping, fire-breathing dragons, etc). You will more than likely get debris inside the case and scratch the screen. The last con that I have (and is probably the reason for the loose cover) is that it is not flush to the side of the N9 when closed (see picture of overlap). This is due to how the cover attaches itself to the case.
End Result:
Is the case worth it? I can say yes, as long as you know that the limitations are there. This case looks awesome in the business environment, sleek enough for school, and the cut outs for ports are perfect. I would love to see a better connection of the cover to the overall case to eliminate the flap that hangs over and I would love to see a bit stronger magnets used. The case weighing 0.4lbs adds a small amount of weight… however maybe the guys at rooCASE can develop a skeletonize version of the case can save weight and cost (I can dream, right?).
Either way, it is a great option and worth the $20.

Anyone have issues with the magnetic sleep/wake being activated when the cover is folded behind the device? My tablet will go to sleep if the cover is pressed against the top backside of the device. Think holding the device with your left hand in landscape orientation. For now I have resolved the issue with a small piece of material along the top edge of the device between it and the hard plastic shell. It pushes the top of the device out just enough to prevent the device going to sleep.
