[Q] gmail app not deleting or marking read emails on Web - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

hey,
I have 2 gmail accounts that I am using. The first one was working fine all the way up until yesterday. I am getting the emails as they come in. But whatever I do on the gmail app does not reflect on the the web server.
The other gmail account works fine. I havent change anything that I know of.....
I am running the latest clean rom.

This has happened to me a time or two.
Delete the offending account, and add it back. Don't know why it works, but it typically does.

Gmail sync problems, shows email when I have none

It seems slot of us are getting this issue.
I'm getting a .com.google.process.apps fc when trying to download from market or sync gmail. Just started after two days of applying theme.
Ive tried going to settings.manage apps and clearing data for gmail, gmail storage and market. Still have issue.
Problem started by gmail showing I had an email when I didn't so I cleared all the data in settings.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Issue with my phone

LOL there are quite a few things but this is mainly the biggest thing, it is getting to be annoying with this phone in particular
Is the fact I keep having to sign into my gmail...like every hour.
I have 3 main gmail accounts
One for pleasure/personal use
One for work
One for school
(I am considering switching back to WP7 & hotmail...but that is another story)
It seems every hour, I'm having to resign into Gmail. And it's not a huge deal but it is a bit annoying seeing the little notification sign that is saying that you need to sign into [email protected]
Furthermore, my Gmail is not pushing to my phone whatsoever so I am not getting any emails without having to sync it manually...even though it is said to get it whenever available.
Idk what to do or what exactly the issue is but it is truly annoying. Any suggestions would be nice?
:O wrong place for this sweety. But I have 5 gmail accounts setup and 2 personal and working fine. Which rom are you using stock? do you have them all setup under account and sync? I remember when I got MT4G and checked 2 acc's from stock rom and worked fine.
lol well where should i post this at then?
and ummm, i am actually using the phone the same exact way out of the box
and everything is fine under accounts & sync...just none of them sync or hardly
ever
You are using GMail App and not EMail App right? Ok lets see you have Background Data and Auto Sync checked? Open GMail app and click Menu> More> Setting> Notification Setting> Email Notification checked? Also make sure you have Update Schedule with fixed time on Send & Receive in GMail setting.
Can u even get gmail over wifi?

I'm glad to know someone is having similar troubles.
It's all good. I'm probably just going to trade this for a windows phone anyway.

I have 4 gmail accounts sync'd on my phone and don't have to sign in on them and get things pushed to them just fine. I'm also on the stock rom...
Just a random thought here, but try deleting one of your email accounts & set it up using the regular mail app & not the gmail app. Just giver it a shot & see.
I have 1 thru the gmail app & 3 thru the regular mail app (live, hotmail & school) & they all work fine

[Q] unread count using Gmail app

When i pull up my Gmail app in which i have 2 accounts...it gives me an incorrect number alot of times of how many new emails i have in there. Its not just emails i have missed way down the list either. i can log onto my account from a computer and they will be right there. its like when i delete them from the app it takes them off the list but doesnt always really delete them.
Is there a way i can fix this? or do you guys recommend the stock "email" app vs the "Gmail" app?
both accounts are Google based.
Thanks.

Try resetting your gmail app by wiping its data.

Yahoo! Mail Account: Unable to Login ?

Running Stock Rom (2.3.6 Rooted)
I've been using my Yahoo account on the stock EMail app since day one of having this phone. I've had no issues until a few hours ago.
"!" in a yellow triangle on my notification bar pops up saying, "Unable to Login/Login Failed." Sorry, can't remember the exact message.
I tried deleting the account and re-adding it, to no avail. I can login to my account via my computer and the actual Yahoo! Mail app.
But I do like the ability to have access to all my email accounts in one app.
Thanks,
DK
I answered this for someone else a week or two ago. There is no fixing it. I had this happen to me and i worked on it non stop for a day to get it fixed. I got so pissed i called Motorola. I usually never call about anything, i avoid doing that. Motorola don't even know how to fix it. You have to set up your Yahoo account with the default mail app manually. Google the settings for Yahoo pop mail. I don't know them off the top of my head plus mine is a att.net account that runs through Yahoo so it's probably different.

Just a shot in the dark here. Sometimes they change the email settings. Like server settings etc. Find out from Yahoo what your settings should be for your phone. If nothing you've done has changed this could be the issue. This happened to me with ATT about a month ago.
The End.
Need to setup manually both incoming and outgoing servers.
Or you can try K9-mail.
Always good to know...thanks for the replies.
I'll just go with the Yahoo!Mail app. It's really not a bad app anymore (used to be super slow).

I used to get horrible battery life with that app. It's been a year or so since i last used it so hopefully they fixed that by now.

Back when the phone first came out I got the app for about an hour or so.
It was extremely slow and laggy. Haven't noticed any of that this time around.
Snappy, updates quickly, and has all the options (unlike the stock app).
These are the settings i use with built in email app.
Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....

email app not syncing automatically

The email app has recently stopped working on my Z3.
I can manually refresh the app to get emails, but for some reason it wont autosync.
Is anybody else having this issue? And know of any fixes? Thanks
Had the same issue after upgrading FW through Flash Tool. Unfortunately I didn't find the solution, so I did a factory reset.
I hope you find a solution my friend.

After playing around with the settings, I changed the sync times to every half an hour?
I am now at least getting now sync notifications, which is a good sign.
However, it's only worked for one account so far
The updated Gmail app supports using other accounts, I use it to sync my Outlook and Yahoo, you could try that. I think they will slowly depreciate the E-Mail app just like the Android Browser.
