My girlfriend says her One S won't charge. Any idea as to what the problem could be?

Faulty AC adaptor, bricked phone, faulty microUSB cable

It could be the power adapter I guess. She says she can charge it at work. It can't be a bricked phone because it's on.

Yeah, I'd just try a different adapter. I've had this issue where an adapter will work for one phone and not another.

Why?

A) Youre charging from a USB port which doesnt supply much power so if you use the phone while its charging the phone drains faster than it charges.
B) Youre using a charger that was originally intended intended for low power devices like bluetooth headsets in which case the same reason already given applies.
Also, wrong section.
Sorry, also I'm using the charger it came with but I'm using 2 USB extention cables

i would imagine that it would probably be one of those extensions that is slowing it down because it cannot handle the AMPs. see which one is "hot" and thats probably the one.
Ill try, thanks

Are you using the phone while it's charging?

What's the purpose of the extention? If you're trying to find a good place for wireless tethering, that could very well be draining your batteries.
Is there anything else you can try charging with the current setup for comparison?

Just need a cable that works, really..
Pretty much, any micro usb data cable is enough
Thank you. I just bought a Xoom from EBay and I'll try to rooted. But I read an somewhere about the OEM cable maybe it's needed for unbrick the Xoom if something goes wrong?

This video shows the phone wasn't charging when it was unplugged
What's the point of having to plug in the wireless orb, isn't it supposed to be wireless
Just confused here

How else you going to get power from the wall?
It charges the phone without wires thus a wireless charger....

Not sure if serious.
It runs on 4 AA batteries. They charge the phone for an hour and then need to be changed.

I'm running CyanogenMod but my phone has been on charge for two hours and its only at 8%...

I know when I visit my mom, she has a few outlets that will not charge my phone. If it's the same outlet, maybe try a different cord or charger. Some cheaper USB cords just do not work on this phone.

As the title says my phone isn't charging properly. I know it's not the charger itself because my gf uses it also and it works just fine for her. I've bought a new battery and it hasn't made a difference either. My phone this morning after 4 hrs in the charger has only gone up 5% this problem has been going on for weeks now. Im hoping someone here has an idea what's wrong.

My phone also dies if I use it while on the charger

Last thing it could be is a hardware issue, either a bad connection or somethings wrong with the charging connection to the battery.
Could also be a bad USB cable, if it's going bad it won't hold a good connection very well.
If you're out of warranty then your best option would be to buy a external battery charger and an extra battery, not ideal, but at least you'll have a way to use your phone.

I know, so it isn't a problem with your battery or charger or USB cable, then it has to be your phone, but it's impossible to know for sure what's wrong. You might be able to fix it by replacing the charging port, or it could be a bad connection from the charging port to the motherboard, or it might be a bad connection from your battery to your charging prongs...
Could be a number of issues. If you're under warranty still then send it in to Samsung, if you're out of warranty then search around and see if you can get it repaired for a reasonable price, swapping batteries will also work for the meantime.

I've only had my phone for a few months so it should still be under warranty. Do I call up Verizon and they take care of it?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes, they will try to troubleshoot it but by the looks of it you've tried everything. They will just send you another phone. As long as your current one doesn't have any physical damage or water damage

Exactly, if Verizon won't help you then Samsung will. Try Verizon first, you definitely deserve a new phone.

Thanks you guys. I will definitely try Verizon. One more quick question. Will they send me a new phone first before I send mine in?
