I need a screen protector asap, is zagg from BB okay? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

I'm looking to get a screen protector asap. I ordered some off amazon and messed up installation due to the fact I couldn't keep dust from getting on my screen during installation. Dunno why my room is so dusty.
I don't have time to wait for something off amazon. And there are best buys all over the place. But I think they only carry zag, for a steep 25.
There's also a tiger direct store down there street but I'm not sure if they carry any.

Att store should have screen protectors if you don't want zagg. I'd get the hd version if I had to use zagg brand, though.

I heard zaggs have an orange peel feel. Not too happy about the sound of that. I hope the HD is peel less.
Anyone have any tips to help deal with dust?

A lot of people say to run a hot shower and steam up your bathroom to help with the dust in the air. Personally after going away from zagg on this phone I probably won't get another one of their products.

I have a Zagg HD and I would recommend getting the tempered glass type. If your hands arent oily there is dragging. Annoying while trying to swipe the screen texting.
Edit: If you need one now then buy a cheap one at Best Buy to hold you over until an online order comes through.

Any good cheap screen protectors for glass protection? I found these 2 but they are not cheap, and dunno if they helf if u drop ur phone (with case ofc)

FYI : Otterbox screen protectors.

I've used several different screen protectors for my one x including body shield and invisishield and the best one ive used so far is the screen protector that otterbox included with their commuter case.
I was trying to find a way to buy more of them but they don't sell them online.
However, their one year warranty includes the screen protector.
I just called otterbox and they are sending me a new screen protector for free, and it doesn't use/void your warranty. :good:
I found invisishields a pain to apply, and have a rubbery feel that I hate.
The body shield was easy to apply (static cling) but also has a rubbery feel (not as much as invisishield).

Thanks for the tip chief. Though I've never had to contact Otterbox directly, they make quality stuff and after hearing what I have in regards to their customer service, this doesn't surprise me. Great company.
I will say though that when I decided to take my since-day-one Defender case off (because I mistreat my sh*t enough to actually justify that), I went ahead and dropped $40 on full body Zagg stuff installed at a kiosk. If it weren't for the rubbery texture on the InvisibleShields, I'd have DEFINITELY dropped mine enough to make me put the Defender back on.
They shipped the new screen protector express, for free.
I got it within 2 days of calling them.
A+++
I couldn't manage to apply mine without some dust/bubbles.. I may have to try and get a replacement one.
Just sticking with the zagg shield and commuter. See no reason to upgrade to a bulky defender.

Use scotch tape two pieces use one on the front to lift the corner(so there aren't any bends in the protector) use the other to dab underneath the protector to remove dust particle and good as new.

commuter case
I've been using the commuter case for several months now. Its one damn tough case! It has saved my phone countless times and take insanley hard hits for a phone (dented what it hit and the phone was fine). I went with the Anti glare screen protector at the AT&T store. Its tough and is hard to scratch the protector itself. no rubbery texture either.

Lol I didn't really read it that much. Most cheaper screen protectors will have some sort of orange-peel tint or matte like this. I guess if they didn't charge $3 for shipping it might be worth a shot because the reviews aren't bad on it. I said Xtremeguard because they're like $1 right now shipped.

Theyre really not bad, I had to use one for my S3 because I hated the blue color of it. But yeah, I bought from xtremeguard too, got them for $3, two full body. The reason why I bought mercury right now as well is because in yhe.next few weeks I know theyre going to higher up the price to around $10. I would say its a good deal now.

That yellow looks good. I would scoop one up if I didn't hate matte protectors.
I just ordered the Black/Matte... I'm currently using a regular matte screen protector (no color/border), so this should help the front better match the black/leather replacement battery back I'm using (as well as the black carbon fiber batter cover I have on the way).

What is the best screen protector?

I'm sorry if there's already a thread. I'm really looking for one that has good quality and good feel to it.

But is it good. I'm kind of getting attracted towards spigen
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Depends what you like in a screen protector. It seems to me that there are 3 main types of screen protector: matte/anti-glare (smooth to the touch, less smudhes/finger prints) , clear/hard (ment to feel the closest to the original screen), and rubbery (usually wet application, sometimes has an "orange peel" effect). I personally prefer the rubbery texture under my fingers, and I always use Xtreme Guard. Theyre wet application, provide great protection and are far less expensive than Zagg (2 dollars on amazon vs 20 dollars). As far as dry application clear ones I actually really like the ones that come with Otter Box cases. And as far as anti glare I would definitely go with Spigen. Hope that helps

Installed one of these on my dad's Galaxy Note 2 and was incredibly impressed with the amount of shatter protection this provides to your screen. It was very easy to apply, and is actually glass. Watch some of the videos available on the site. Only available for a very finite list of devices (S4 included), I ordered one last week on back order and am expecting it to arrive on Friday.

I have one and think they are amazing. I have dropped my phone onto it's face in gravel from ear height and this protected my factory glass. In my opinion, id rather break one of these then the factory glass because it is a paint in the butt to replace the factory glass.

I made a mistake of purchasing skinomi for my late iphone 4s. The supposed lifetime warranty is a load of baloney. Such a hassle to convince them that I needed replacement as the corners started to peel. And after days of dispute, I got my replacement but they wanted me to pay for shipping. $3 shipping on a $10 product. Never again. But your experience may differ.

Awesome, good luck. My first one did not apply well, it had some weird line-defect in it. Got a new one, and i love it. I've been using it about 5 weeks now, and I don't have any scratches or marks on it. A plastic screen protector would be scratched up in a few days.
I keep my phone in my jacket pocket, or back pants pocket.
I've been really happy with it.
Got a zagg only because its the only one Best Buy offered when i got my phone. Will definitely be getting the spigen tempered glass one next payday. I hate the feeling of screen protectors (especially zagg, feels like an orange peel). Glass is the only way to go. IMO its an expensive phone, no need to be a cheap charlie when it comes to protecting the screen. Just my .02 cents. 30 bucks for a tempered glass one that will fit properly isnt much.

sorry for the late response. install was a breeze. I did however manage to get some dirt on the adhesive side of the glass right before I was about to place it on and freaked out for a bit after realizing the back side is pretty sticky and you cant simply wipe dirt off of it. Thankfully I had some sticky notes nearby and used the sticky side of the note and padded the adhesive side of the glass and it grabbed all the dirt right off

What I did was do it after a hot shower (steamy), cleaned the screen with the included cloth and used the included stick repeatly to remove all dust.

Looking for best water screen protector

Ok so my gf got the S5 and she is trying to find a good screen protector, I personally like wet application screen protectors because they are the easiest to get on and have the best adhesion. So i was wondering if there was any good one for the S5?
She wants one that is clear, scratch resistant, and smug resistant but dont cost an arm and leg (a round the 20 mark max)?
If there isn't one that is water application but still have really good adhesion (meaning it stick to the edges of the phone) then will be willing to consider that as well.
Thanks in advance!!!

No she's never considered tempered glass protectors before and when I explained it to her she didn't seem all that interested in it since it's kinda became the trend where we both didn't have a screen protector on our last phone and suffered minimal scratches. So don't see the need for something as extreme as an extra layer of glass. But maybe the Zagg HD might work thanks.

Just a little more info. The tempered glass protectors do add a little more protection than the regular protectors but that's no where near the reason I recommend them. It's for the feel. It feel like you don't have a protector at all....like using the phone naked. Just my 2 cents. Since I started using them a couple years I won't use anything else.

There are typically several options available. For example spigen and mime are the two companies whose glass I've used and they both offer ultra thin versions or standard versions with rounded edges. Personally I prefer the rounded edges as the transition from the home button and such is smooth as can be. As far as case issues I've never had that problem. Especially on phones like the s5 where the bezel actually has its own little lip anyways.
I did a review on the neo hybrid somewhere in the accessories forum and I have my screen protector on in those pics but I don't recall if there is a good view or not. I will gladly take a couple photos and post them here for you on my lunch break.

Tempered glass is the way to go, adds a little bit of thickness but feels like using the phone naked, I had the zagg HD on while I waiting for my glass ones to come in. The Zagg was very good for the wet application but still has that rubbery feel all wet application suffer from. Look on ebay or amazon you can get them dirt cheap for around 5 dollars, I usually buy 4 at a time and once they get a little beat up or the anti finger print coating starts to wear off I replace them.

Typos do happen. That being said the oleophobic coating is definitely not the only thing to worry about. Fit is important and the cheaper ones don't necessarily have the exact fit but the may. Hardness is extremely important as its what determines scratch resistance. Thickness is also a big deal. The difference between .3mm and .23 mm doesn't seem like much but it can create an obvious lip and also cause case issues. Also, rounded edges are a huge deal and not all glass protectors have them. And the thicker the protector the more important rounded edges become.

lol typos happen don't spend 25 dollars on the same thing that cost five. I got mine in 12 days shipped for free. I have tried probably every brand of tempered glass out there in the last 3 years. I bought 60 dollar ones and 5 dollar ones, the only thing to make sure of is that they have an oleophobic coating.
