Hey guys, im running the viperxl latest 3.2.8 and in the aroma installer i choose to completely remove sense because it saves a lot of RAM. Before without running any apps the ram would be about 850mb/1GB Free. After de-sensing the rom i get 600/1gb free. Im using NOVA Launcher to replace the sense dock.
Everything is perfect except for not having any shortcuts on lockscreen. Is there any fix/workaround? i really like the 4 icons on lockscreen where you can pull the ring to the icon.
If not, is there a way to install ONLY the sense lockscreen without install the whole sense system?
Also, ive tried downloading some music from my dropbox and i move the mp3 files to the "Music" folder on the sdcard. When i open the music app i see the songs but i get an error when i try to play them saying "unable to play this type of audio file"
Thanks for the help!
You can enable the AOSP lockscreen in venom tweaks but I am pretty sure you don't need to in order get the lockscreen shortcuts..
I am almost certain you just need to set the lockscreen shortcuts in venom tweaks. I think they are unset by default.
I don't use venom, otherwise I'd check for you.

Yeah i saw the settings in venom tweaks and i changed the settings also in custom lockscreen shortcuts, however the screen still stays empty without any shortcut icons. I was browsing through xda trying to find a solution and i saw a post saying that NOVA launcher restricts the use of sense lockscreen?
Correct. You need sense to use the sense lockscreen

ah then aosp lockscreen it is.
weird. Lockscreen shortcuts with sense lockscreen work for me and i desensed it in aroma too and chose nova launcher. Try going into personalize and see if lockscreen shortcuts is checked. Maybe you unchecked it by accident or something
GO Locker
Use a third party lockscreen on the play store like go locker. Then you can get up to 6 icons and customize which does what and what the lock screen looks like
Duh!

I downloaded the Inspired Ace rom which I love and has increased my battery life like I didn't think was possible. My question is the lockscreen. How do I change the sense screen to the standard froyo or gingerbread type that slides left to right and allows you to change ringer on/off?
Widget locker. That's what I use.
You can remove or rename htclockscreen.apk and it should show up automatically. Not 100% sure one the apk name but I think I am remembering close.
Located in /system/app
note: if you use the above process (deleting the apk) your alarm will not work.
Widgetlocker looks pretty cool, I think I might have to check that out.
Widget locker is the best. You can make multiple unlock bars, widgets on the lock screen, change the lock bar style, etc. Absolutely worth the cost.
I guess my question is how do you use the add ons in the rom. It has the option while downloading to enable the htc lockscreen but I want to use the stock froyo slider that I'm guessing it also has. How do I change the lockscreen? I would post this in the rom forum but I can't yet because of my number of posts.

I'm running CM7 right now and all I really missed was the sense 3.0 customizable lockscreen. I figured in the meantime I could use widgetlocker and at least have a customizable lockscreen. TO MY SURPRISE, they have updated the sliders to include a honeycomb circle slider and a customizable Sense 3.0 lockscreen slider that works perfectly!!!
Anyway I just wanted to share with all of you because it's the perfect solution if you're ever missing the 3.0 lockscreen with shortcuts - now you can use it on any ROM!

i Noticed that the ram usage by the app increases overtime.
for me it went up to 100mb, which is suprising coz i juz had the ics lock and clock on it.
had to kill and restart and then it starts at 15mb.
Is this a bug? contacted the dev but no reply.

I'm also using CM7 but I can't seem to get the WidgetLocker sliders to stick (Menu -> Add -> Custom Slider). It always goes back to the [android] slider after I click 'Save and Exit'. How did you manage to get the Sense 3.0 lockscreen to stay?
Edit: Never mind, got it. If you long press the Unlock button in Tool Mode, and choose Edit, the changes you make will stick.
Edit 2: So beautiful ;_;
Glad you got it working. I uninstalled it but then reinstalled it cause I thought it was killing my battery - turns out it was the CM7 kernel itself. I installed the virtuous V2 kernel and everything is running smoothly!
GoLocker is new one and it has some cool stuff too. It is also free.
just wondering if anybody using widgetlocker knows how to get the Shutter button to go straight to camera instead of first unlocking widgetlocker, and then going to camera (meaning I have to hold the shutter button for longer than I do without widgetlocker).
I just read up on GoLocker and it'll let you access the camera app directly with the hardware button. I'm not sure how to do it with WidgetLocker. I like the GoLocker pics but I hate how if you want themes you have to download all of them from the market and they show up as apps... Just me being picky I guess, though.

I am using GoLocker and I have not found that it lets you access camera directly, however I am using a screen called "Four Key" which has shortcuts for camera, phone & SMS. It also shows next alarm (including from alarm clock +), has option to let you use volume even when locked (good for quick silent/vibrate w/o unlocking), and also has option to use Genius Button w/o unlocking.
Title says it all... Basically, I want to remove/disable lockscreen widgets, (which is an option in many ROMS), however use a custom widget (instead of the standard clock)... get it?
I tried replacing the standard widget, then disable all widgets... however, unfortunately that brings backs the main clock lockscreen widget.
Anyway

Dont disable lockscreen widgets. Just add your custom widget and delete the page with stock widget , thats it

Ah, the reason I asked, is because I HATE to see the white highlight sqaures when I unlock the device.... (Love lockscreen widgets tho)... just wish I could make the white highlighting transparent... ;(
How about something like widget locker?

With cataclysm ROM, you can make it so that there's only 1 widget on the luck screen

I was wondering the same thing
Does anyone know how to disable as much of sense as possible without rooting? For example the weather showing on the lockscreen as well as HTC location service. I have already disabled the weather app yet it is still showing on the lockscreen
Disable sense make no sense on a HTC phone
you could just flash a custom rom? Sense is the skin htc run on top of android so you can't really disable it as such.
Widgetlocker, lets you customize the lock screen, but I am pretty sure it is tightly integrated into the stock rom.
I have replaced a lot of things, like the default shell, with google now, and the google keyboard. The dialer is also fixed.

You could disable the lock screen and use a different app for the lockscreen.
Im wanting to edit my lockscreen kind of like we already edit our homescreen. In particular im looking to get my agenda and a snapshot of the weather on the lockscreen. Is this possible? If so how, oh and im not looking to use a launcher as i like the layout and feel of touch wiz. Thanks
You can't without root. Some manufacturers (e.g. HTC) will have weather info etc. on their lock screens natively, but Samsung doesn't unfortunately.
Well thats stupid! Okay option two/three. Any good lockscreen apps that replace existing lockscreen that dont lag? Or any launchers that sill allow me to keep my own theme and app style and layout but allow me to customize the lockscreen?

I don't know of any lock screen apps off the top of my head because I never use any, but I know they're on the Play Store, so just do a search and see which one would probably fit your needs. Also, the launcher and lock screen are two different things, so installing a custom launcher just affects the home screen and app drawer.

I tried that, and its giving me loads of issues any other suggestions? Thanks
I always used AcDisplay on my past android phones. I haven't set it up on my S7, so I don't honestly recall all the features, but I always liked it so that's a good place to start.
May just be for notifications but I really can't remember.
Try hi locker it uses the fingerprint scanner has good media and notifications has calendar and weather as well
