I'm running CM7 right now and all I really missed was the sense 3.0 customizable lockscreen. I figured in the meantime I could use widgetlocker and at least have a customizable lockscreen. TO MY SURPRISE, they have updated the sliders to include a honeycomb circle slider and a customizable Sense 3.0 lockscreen slider that works perfectly!!!
Anyway I just wanted to share with all of you because it's the perfect solution if you're ever missing the 3.0 lockscreen with shortcuts - now you can use it on any ROM!

i Noticed that the ram usage by the app increases overtime.
for me it went up to 100mb, which is suprising coz i juz had the ics lock and clock on it.
had to kill and restart and then it starts at 15mb.
Is this a bug? contacted the dev but no reply.

I'm also using CM7 but I can't seem to get the WidgetLocker sliders to stick (Menu -> Add -> Custom Slider). It always goes back to the [android] slider after I click 'Save and Exit'. How did you manage to get the Sense 3.0 lockscreen to stay?
Edit: Never mind, got it. If you long press the Unlock button in Tool Mode, and choose Edit, the changes you make will stick.
Edit 2: So beautiful ;_;
Glad you got it working. I uninstalled it but then reinstalled it cause I thought it was killing my battery - turns out it was the CM7 kernel itself. I installed the virtuous V2 kernel and everything is running smoothly!
GoLocker is new one and it has some cool stuff too. It is also free.
just wondering if anybody using widgetlocker knows how to get the Shutter button to go straight to camera instead of first unlocking widgetlocker, and then going to camera (meaning I have to hold the shutter button for longer than I do without widgetlocker).
I just read up on GoLocker and it'll let you access the camera app directly with the hardware button. I'm not sure how to do it with WidgetLocker. I like the GoLocker pics but I hate how if you want themes you have to download all of them from the market and they show up as apps... Just me being picky I guess, though.

I am using GoLocker and I have not found that it lets you access camera directly, however I am using a screen called "Four Key" which has shortcuts for camera, phone & SMS. It also shows next alarm (including from alarm clock +), has option to let you use volume even when locked (good for quick silent/vibrate w/o unlocking), and also has option to use Genius Button w/o unlocking.

I love gingerbread but need the sense camera. So, since my friends still think my phone is CM7 even though it isn't, I thought I'd share my cheater way to get 2.2 to look 98% of the way there. There are only a few subtle visual differences, but it convinced a coworker today...
1. Koni elite III and get rid of the clock in status bar
2. Omegasun18 Honeycomb dreams for battery icon, other icons, etc...
3. Adw launcher by anderweb
4. NexusKang live wallpaper (free on market)
5. Calkulins remove sense
6. Sony sketch font (i like it on evervolv a lot!!!) - fachadick 300 fonts thread
7. The clock is beautiful widgets from market (i always use it since i paid)
8. Wimax notifier from Noxious Ninja for the wimax led notification (in xda themes and apps)
9. Screen Off and Lock by Katecca for the Gingerbread screen off animation (also on market)
hope this helps a little bit, keep the sense camera, have wimax notification, and the gingerbread screen off all on 2.2

Nice post man. Thanks for the info.

great job man, thx alor for the info
Looks pretty cool. I'll have to mention this to my friend who just got his. doesn't like sense look but likes some of the default apps.
the screen off app is cool. not as convincing as the real thing. but cool.
one thing I would love to do is get it so it shows the animation when you actually hit the power button, not just hold search.

It's not bad though. the problem is you know it isn't the real thing. there are some other really cool screen off animations in there too. I use a blank on my screen to activate it instead of the search button. Blank icons are great, have about 6 on my home screen

I might consider doing this since I love the look of CM7 but I can't stand not using Qik, Skype on 3G and just a few other things that I used to do on 2.2 that I can't on 2.3.....Good post man!
thanks the animation looks great!
now i'm trying to find the sound that those old tvs made when turning off so I can put that sound to go along with the animation!
anyone have that?
there is no link

don't you mean more honeycomb looking?
In case you have not noticed - the Sense 3.0 Lockscrren on out Sensations now has additional functionality.
To unlock the phone you drag the grey circle upwards. But you can also tap and drag one of the 4 icons (phone, mail, web, camera) and move them into the middle of the circle and you then jump right to that function.
I find that kinda neat, and of couse it opens the question - can we add custom icons / apps to this quicklauncher and if so how is this done?
Also, there seems to be a reproducible bug with the camera, at least in my phone. When I launch it likedescribed above it starts the camera app (i see the stuff the cam ispointing at in the display) but it lacksallof the control buttons. Is this hapening with your versions too or isitmaybe already fixed?

Personalize -->Lock screen-->go to the lock screen you want and choose settings - tap app icon to change shortcuts
I was laughing at this then realized I have a question about the lockscreen too! Don't wanna start a new thread. So when you have an alternate launcher, you lose the ability to access the "personalize" section of the settings, which is where you change the lockscreen icons and ****. Now, to change the lockscreen type or icons, I need to disable Launcher Pro's defaults and use the Sense launcher. I don't change it often, so no biggie. But is there a way to change the lockscreen outside of the Sense launcher?

tj - just pull down the notification bar and go to all settings - personalize is at the top then mod your lockscreen
the only settings available is the htc modified version - thats why car home is blacklisted because if you try to pull up settings it crashes - doesn't care for the HTC version

See, with Launcher Pro at least, when I hit that Personalize button it just closes settings and throws me back to the homescreen. No FC or anything, I just go to my homescreen. Can anyone with an alternate launcher confirm this behavior for me? Is it just Launcher Pro, or maybe even just my device?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
okay i see what you mean
zeam and launcher pro do the same thing if you select them to open personalize
you have to use sense to launch personalize
if you don't get prompted to choose between lpro and sense when you click personalize just clear the launcher pro defaults and next time you can choose sense. shouldnt make that big of a deal since sense will just get dropped once youre back in launcher pro
I have the camera bug also...

from what i can pull out of the OP's message, I think he was saying a bug where the lock screen will show the icons and background but also be displaying the image from the camera.
I first noticed this when I was using Barcode Scanner, left the app running, locked the phone, and then hit the unlock button. the normal lock screen would appear faded and then the live camera image. pretty cool looking i think
I can reproduce this
Almost got it with anycut - create a shortcut by long pressing the screen from whatever launcher you want then choose activity - scroll down and choose the second personalize listed - there should be three. the lock screen settings are there and load fine without crashing only problem is that your lockscreen will change to a theme but the icons on the lockscreen don't switch. I think if you tried out all thet settings options in anycut you could do it.
Hi all,
I've got 2 questions:
1. I was wondering if it would be possible to have some sort of widget that allows me to change my brightness in the lock screen.
2. Is there some sort of mod for the notification window? I would like to have the "quick settings + some other functionality in the first window when I drag it down.
Thanks!
Jason.
Well lock screen brightness would be the same as your home screen brightness.
(not too positive if that's what you mean) you can adjust that in menu/settings/display
As for your quick settings being something different. That is definitely a suggestion to bring up as I have never seen that done differently besides a EQS.
Maybe a Twitter feed? Or something? Conversations? Hmmm

1. Get Widgetlocker app on the market and add whatever brightness widget you would like to the lockscreen.
2. CM7 and MIUI both let you customize the quick settings shortcuts on the notification bar.
You can also use a tweaks option on any sense ROM although you will find most have it anyway (custom roms)

can you elaborate? Tweaks like what?
@OP.. Sense Lock screen cant be changed. U can use brightness changing application in Sense Lock screen shortcuts but that will still unlock screen after opening application..
Second option as 2nd post says to use WidgetLocker application but for that u have to sacrifice Sense Lock screen...
Let me clarify myself further:
I would like to keep the htc sense lockscreen as it is but also include the option to adjust brightness.
As for the notifications:
the samsung galaxy s2 shows quick settings in the first window when dragged down, I would like to have something similar and maybe increase the number of options displayed. For all I care the recent applications in this window can go out of the window for this since I always use the home button to switch between applications.

Hi, i just was looking for themes for the lockscreen, but no results... I've only found apps that make my phone slower and more laggy when unlocking...
So where could i find mods to change the appearance of lockscreen dor root users????
If they dont exist, a new thread for new mods could be created...
EDIT: tried "lockbot pro" + "no lock" combination... Works very very very well without any lags... No errors, no dual lockscreen and can put some themes (ics theme too ).... Its very inntegrated with the os.... Works exacatly as stock lockscreen... But cannot use widgets... Ahhhhhh
I use widgetlocker. Slows the phone a bit but still fast
No, i have discovered lockbot pro.... It run so smooth... As i am using ics theme ,i have cose the ics theme for lockbot... Let me see it how it runs....
However im not looking for that... Im looking for a mod, to modify the stock lockscreen, because its the only one really integrated with the OS
Edited: uau, its works very well, but still laggy ...nothing like stock lockscreen xdxd
I'm quite interested in this too, I used widgetlocker for a while, and loved having pacman to pull across the screen to unlock, but if u want to have any form of security on ur phone, a lock pattern or pin number u have to unlock with widgetlocker, then slide the stock unlocker, and THEN do ur pattern or code, its a pain in the arse!!
I've been playing with a HTC Desire HD lately, and I love the lock screen on that, where u pull a ring to the centre of the screen, or to the thing u wanna do, like camera, phonem sms, etc.
maybe this can help you.
install no locker from market. open it and select lockscreen disabled then run widgetlocker and there you go. no lags or double locks

Have you tried to make a theme for just the lockscreen using UOT? Try it here... UOT Kitchen You can do an entire theme or just pick the thing you want to theme out. Not sure exactly what your going for, but using UOT you can change the appearance of the lock tabs, color, even the icons on the lock sliders. Enjoy!
Have you tried GoLocker?
I hope I'm just doing something stupid ...
I can't add most widgets I've downloaded to my lock screen on my Nexus 5 ... though they all work fine adding to my home screen. Only a few (like Android Weather) are available when hit the "plus" on a blank lockscreen.
All I want is a brightness widget that can make the display bright so I can properly put in my password in bright sunlight (I never set my brightness to auto, it's too annoying for me).
ie. Power Widget lite would be perfect for my needs!
Any one having the same problem? Any ideas?
I have the same problem. Wanted to add some beautiful clock widget to homescreen (don't remember exactly which one), downloaded, installed, went to add to homescreen - no luck.
Why can't you get something like power toggles. Then you could pull down notification bar on lockscreen and toggle brightness to what you wanted. An extra step I know

you add widgets on your lockscreen by enabling them in security. there's a checkbox that says "enable widgets"

Yep, did that. The thing is only SOME can be added. Very few that I've downloaded (even though they all seem to work on home screens).

Wow AWESOME app! That's exactly what I need! I was looking for a bunch of widgets on one row, which the lockscreen doesn't even seem to allow, but this widget already let me configure everything I needed in one row of buttons.
It turns out that THIS widget CAN be placed on the lockscreen (I'm not talking about the one visible in the notification bar, I can only access that when the phone's already unlocked).
BUT ... I still want to know why most widgets can't get placed on the lockscreen to begin with. Are they not Android 4.4-lockscreen-compatible yet?

Aha! Didn't expect that widgets needed special lock screen support.
So there's home screen widgets, lock screen widgets, notification bar widgets, ... I wonder what other classes of apps I'm missing - widget widgets? It would be nice if Google Play Store could search based on widget class.
