[Q] Nokia C6 (Symbian S60 5th) and hotspot (no ROOT) - Asus Transformer TF700

Hi, at first, sorry for my bad English (Czech Republic).
I have big problem, I 've mobile Nokia C6-00, with Symbian S60 5th OS, and i need connect with my Infinity via Nokia to internet. I"ve tried Joikuspot, but Android isn't support AdHoc. When I had ICS, i connect via Nokia to internet via Bluetooth. In infinity I 've set in Bluetooth setting connect to internet via bluetooth.
Yesterday I installed JB 4.2.1. and this setting, which was in ICS is not in JB! (only if I paired in any device, for example Asus TF300T- there is this setting). Please, have anybody some idea, how i connect to internet? Please, i have tablet without root and i want it in future! Thx

Can't you just run some Wifi Hotspot app/thing on your Nokia, and then connect via WiFi as you would to any router?

I use FoxFi on Samsung S3 and PDANet Tablet on TF700 to connect to the internet via Bluetooth. My JB tablet is rooted but I think you can use PDANet without root.

My Nokia have not any aplication in system. You have to install some application wich do a hotspot, for example JoikuSpot (i thing, that its only one on Symbian).
And Android not support AdHoc.(i think)

The issue is that the PDAnet software is using the telephone as the modem and desktop software on the PC (client software) to connect to the telephone as a modem. We would want to use the Gtab as the desktop with client software to connect to either a telephone as a modem or even to a PC and use the PC's network connection. That doesn't exist today AFAIK except perhaps for the Archos tablet (and again not sure that is working well for them). I am sure with newer tablets coming, some software will soon emerge with a client function that will allow you to connect the Gtab to your Android telephone or Blackberry or even iPhone. There isn't a way today (AFAIK) to use your PC desktop's network connection with the GTab with a USB link (again the software I have been able to find assumes you want to use the desktop connected to the telephone's network connection and not the other way around).
Once this is available it will be sweet (especially if I can connect to my Blackberry; wired or wireless).

[Q] Computer internet connexion sharing via bluetooth with android device...

Hi,
I'm a happy owner of both a Nexus One and a Nook Color, both rooted and running CyanogenMod.
I got a full data access on my mobile so I can tether its connexion to either any laptop (using wifi or usb tethering) or the Nook Color (using wifi or bluetooth PAN). That's working quite fine even though this requires to get a good data signal strength covering the place you are.
Unfortunatelly, at work, I almost got no data access.
My laptop got full internet access via its LAN Ethernet adapter and has both wifi and bluetooth available.
My question is simple : How can I share my laptop's internet access with my android devices using bluetooth ?
PS : Even if I can only pair one of the two android devices with my laptop at a time, that still would rock !
Thanks !
Bump... I have the same question and exactly the same situation...!!
I have same problem here. My computer get full access internet via LAN, and just only have bluetooth connection (no wifi). How i can share it? symbian can share bluetooth internet connection with apps called GNUBOX. How about Android? Anyone can help??
I think that you can't use internet over bluetooth,
maybe you can try using internet over usb cable - it is supported in newer android updates

[Q] Internet via Nokia?

Hi, I have Asus Transformer and Nokia E6.
Is any way how share internet from Nokia to TF? I tried some applications like Joico but they can make only HotSpot but TF probably cannot connet to hotspot.
I tried also some hotspots clients for android but they cannot find Joico accesspoint :-(
Any help? Can I share internet via bluetooth, wi-fi or cable? I have Revolver ROM with support USB dongle modem and it works but using Nokia would be much easier for me.
Thanks.
joikuspot
I use JoikuSpot, it does pretty good job, sometimes i even gat 7.9mbps,if you didnt hack your phone there is the light version that can fully server your needs
I know this is an old thread, but I am only replying back in the sake of someone else having a similar problem.
Basically, the Asus Transformer and a lot of other Android Tablets don't support ad-hoc connections out-of-box. The Joiku creates ad-hoc connections and the only way to connect to it with an android tablet is if the wpasupplicant file is modified so that it will work with ad-hoc.
There are numerous guides out there. A simple search of "ad-hoc android tablet" will give you some great results.

[Q] Sharing Connection from PC

Hi,
so my scenario is the following:
My PC is connected to the router via cable and has no WiFi connection. My router has wifi, but the connection is very bad in my room.
Is there a way to share the connection of my pc (running win 8 pro btw) via bluetooth (it's onboard) or USB?
Thanks!
edit: Just tested it with my HoX and there I have an option "Internet Pass-Through", which works fine via USB. But on my GNote 10.1 (wifi only) the option doesn't exist...
edit2: I guess I found out what the problem is: It's called reverse-tethering and the problem is, that all tethering options are not available in the systemsettings, because tethering is not available, because it's a wifi only model. On my HoX the option for internet pass-through are in the tethering section, though it's reverse tethering. Any ideas how to get there on the wifi only Note?
Use a second ethernet-slot on your pc, buy an usb-lan-device and connect it via otg and crossovercable.
Or use bluetooth, if your pc support that. (Maybe a cheap usb bt device for your pc?) To share internet on one android device to another via bt is no problem. So it should work te same with your pc. Dunno by windows settings or any third party software.
AW: [Q] Sharing Connection from PC
Allright, I have Bluetooth onboard but can't get it to work, I guess the problem is with windows here. The other idea is very good thanks, I'll try that.
Send from my HTC One X - Kernel 3.1.10 - Build 3.18.401.1
Before buying check for well known usb lan devices. Especially for samsung note, note 2 and up.
How far is the router from your room?
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
AW: [Q] Sharing Connection from PC
1 floor ~3 walls
The closer I get to the door the better it gets. At the door the router is basically directly beneath. On my couch which is near the door the reception is okay. But in my bed and near my PC (furthest away from door) the reception is very bad or no reception at all.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 10.1 with the awesome CM 10.1 HumberOS Rom!
edit: So, I finally found a working bluetooth driver for my onboard bluetooth and win 8 (it's a P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen 3 btw). The standard win 8 bt driver seemed to lack some features. Okay, now I am able to have a real pairing connection to the GN10.1. I enabled ICS in windows connection option and then tried to do a "connect to personal network" in windows. It fails with no notification at all on the Note. Then I downloaded Bluetooth PAN app from play store. Funny thing is: If I click connect in windows (in the "connect to personal network" window) and shortly after/before click connect in Bluetooth PAN the connection does not fail in windows (it shows as connected), but the Bluetooth PAN app doesn't show any established connection, very weird. I tried the app "BlueVPN", but also no luck. Oh btw I found the following:
Obtain a network connection via Bluetooth tethering
If you have a computer or other device that can share its network connection via Bluetooth, you can configure your phone to obtain a network connection by Bluetooth tethering (sometimes called reverse tethering).
1. Configure your computer to share it’s network connection via Bluetooth. See your computer’s documentation for details on how to do this. Typically, it involves making your computer discoverable via Bluetooth and allowing incoming PAN connections.
2. Pair and connect your phone to your computer via Bluetooth.
3. Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Tethering & portable hotspot.
4. Check Bluetooth tethering.
Your phone connects to the Internet via Bluetooth and your computer, and a Bluetooth icon appears in the System bar.

So I had Bluetooth Tethering enabled all the time. It didn't make any difference, except I got a noticifation "Tethering active" when connected, but I didn't get a reverse tethering.
Next thing I did, I tried connecting to my HTC One X's bt hotspot, didn't work either.
My best guess is still that there are too many tethering options missing due to the fact that it's the wifi only version.
What I'll try next is this. I'll let you know if it works.
edit 2: Oh, I also tried reverse tethering with my HoX to the PC, also didn't work.
Didn't worked because of firewall on windows 8?
Try to establish tethering through ur mobile phone via bt to wifi or [insertnumberhere]G internet.
Maybe in both directions (mobile<->10.1) to see if that works... and to decrease potential ...errrm... fehlerquellen.
Any update on sharing the internet connection of the pc to the note 10.1. I am especially interested in doing it via the USB.
It seems you can update the Note 10.1 via the USB, so it must be possible to connect to the internet via it. I think.
I don't own a Note 10.1 yet, but I am really interested in getting one.
it is old but maybe for some people the first gibt. nowadays it is easier in Windows 6 and above. you'll make it.

Can't find how to reverse tether (USB) my tablet .... Galaxy Tab E (SM-T560) / android 4.4 / windows 11

Hi
I've been trying to reverse tether my tablet for 2 days, without success. An app as Tetrd says "you are now connected", but nothing... AndroidTool finds my device, but it never reaches the end of the process...
So... any solution to use, via USB, my pc Internet on my tablet ?
Thank you
You can pair them over Bluetooth and use a Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network).

Thank you, i'll try this.
Edit : quite unstable here... still looking for usb reverse tether, hoping that it will solve a "latency" problem with an app (server on my pc, client in Chrome Browser on my tablet). Not sure that'll do the job, but i'd like to try...
