Bruce's CM10 JB mms help

Ok, so I'm running Bruce's cmX and it's great but I received like 2 photo text and it was fine but for some reason no more photos come through my text. I tried asking friends to send me pics and it just says "downloading".
I tried deleting the messages apps data.
I haven't changed any apn setting as it worked fine before.
I'm on 3.33 firmware since I flashed.
Using the stock messaging app.
I actually haven't changed any settings since I flashed so I don't know how it stopped working since it worked fine when right after I had flashed.
Any help is appreciated.

I have the same issue, on same ROM, firmware 3.32. I don't really use MMS a lot, but happened to receive some the other day and it just said downloading but it never did.

Report the issue to CyanogenMod, the device tree for pyramid that bruce is using does not have an overlay for MMS
You could always try fix permissions in recovery

I went into the messages app and hit menu-settings-auto retrieve mms (unchecked it)
Now when I get a pic, instead of just downloading automatically, I have to click "download" and it's worked 3 times so far. Hopefully it works for you too.

[Q] PAC ROM System UI Error

Hello,
I installed the latest "nightlies" PAC ROM last night and it was working just fine until mid-morning today. Now every 5 seconds I get the following error message on my screen:
Unfortunately, System UI has stopped. Blame Tyler.
Does anybody know what can be done to fix this error? I really like the ROM and would hate to give up on it so quickly.
I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had this happening on this rom for awhile. What fixed it for me was that Download Manager was frozen. Once I unfroze it, the message stopped popping up and everything worked as it should.
same problem with me and its irritating
kindly someone give me a solution to it ...............as well

[Q] SMS not working after flashing CM11 20131214

Can anyone help me figure this out? I successfully flashed CM11: cm-11-20131214-NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip
Problem is that i can't get SMS to work at all. Native messenger just force closes. Hangouts forcecloses, Handscent, same, GoSMS pro same...
Any fixes?
Did you clean flash (wipe all partitions)?

I have the same problem on my SGS2 i9100, I've done clean flash, still isn't working.
As for the OP question, gapps version did you flash? I've found the "mini modular package" works the best and causes the least FCs.
I've heard/seen nothing but problems with those CM11 nightlies. You guys might want to consider one of the AOSP roms til CM gets their s**t together. I'm on Gummy and have zero issues.
CM11 Sending SMS Problem solved!
I was also have the same problem, not able to send SMS after replacing the stock rom with cm11. After lot of googling also I was not able to correct the problem. Attempt Changing SMSC from 00 also failed. Then I found the root cause, that is while flashing cm11 I wiped everything including internal memory that only created the problem. Hence again I flashed stock rom and changed the SMS message center number and again I flashed CM11 this time without wiping internal memory. Now SMS is working!!!

No push notifications on AOSP rom.

Hello all,
I love my nexus 5 and I am trying to run an AOSP rom (tried both LiquidSmooth and CarbonRom) but for reasons unknown to me I can not get push notifications to work with apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Google+ messages in hangouts. I believe these are all related to Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) for notifications.
I have tried different PA Gapps and Banks Gapps, PNF- Push Notification Fixer, different Kernels, clean installs, logging in and out of my Google Account, wiping the framework data.
I flashed a rom based on Stock and had no issues at all with notifications!!
Somebody for the love of god help me figure this out!
Thank you

Yeah definitely something wrong on my end, just don't know what lol.
After being on stock rom all day and getting notifications flawlessly, I nandroided back to my liquid setup and notifications seem to be working!! Then by dirty flashing to the newest 24th build I lost notifications again. I'm forced to believe that the wiping of cache+dalvik is breaking my push notifications. Not sure why!
And yes I have tried clean installs of the Rom and it did not work.

XT1033 Falcon CM12 (31/01) - Cannot send/receive sms - 3G, MMS, in/out calls fine!

Hey all. I really hoped I would have sorted this just by searching but... still stuck.
I have an XT1033, which I updated from cm11 > cm12 falcon (31/01 nightly) using TWRP 2.8.1. Gapps mini modular package from PA link. From my forum searching etc I thought the XT1033 dual sim was now all good to go on the falcon nightlies but since the update I havent been able to send or recieve any sms although 3g data, incoming and outgoing calls and MMS are all fine. Below are some things I have tried.
Sim card has been tested to send and receive fine in another phone.
MMS is working fine and all APN settings have been double checked.
I've tried using the *#*#4635#*#* menu to see if the SMSC number was the problem. Confirmed it was correct.
I tried flashing again using CWM as well with the same result. Also tried again with TWRP, this time formatting (almost) everything, data, system, data/media, dalvik, regular cache etc. Tried flashing a falcon nightly from 27/01 as well to see if it worked.
It looks like this problem has occurred for a couple of XT1033 owners upgrading recently to CM12 but I'm not sure if anybody has worked out where the issue is?? If anyone has any troubleshooting ideas, suggestions etc... Thanks in advance.
:good: and thanks to the CM devs, contributors etc. (And google I suppose). Im really loving Lollipop, the material ui and all the usual CM tweaks, the rom is friggin sweet otherwise. From a long time lurker/searcher of xde who usually finds my q already answered.

same issue for me... Sms not working on any custom roms... Pls help
Not the answer you are probably wanting to hear but I have a similar problem just a different model phone. Use a 3rd party app that lets you manually set the apn. EvolveSMS or Smitten both let you do just that and are pretty nice apps as well.
Thanks for the reply
