Ok, so I'm running Bruce's cmX and it's great but I received like 2 photo text and it was fine but for some reason no more photos come through my text. I tried asking friends to send me pics and it just says "downloading".
I tried deleting the messages apps data.
I haven't changed any apn setting as it worked fine before.
I'm on 3.33 firmware since I flashed.
Using the stock messaging app.
I actually haven't changed any settings since I flashed so I don't know how it stopped working since it worked fine when right after I had flashed.
Any help is appreciated.

I have the same issue, on same ROM, firmware 3.32. I don't really use MMS a lot, but happened to receive some the other day and it just said downloading but it never did.

Report the issue to CyanogenMod, the device tree for pyramid that bruce is using does not have an overlay for MMS
You could always try fix permissions in recovery

I went into the messages app and hit menu-settings-auto retrieve mms (unchecked it)
Now when I get a pic, instead of just downloading automatically, I have to click "download" and it's worked 3 times so far. Hopefully it works for you too.

Hey all,,,I have a tmo sensation and have opensensation currently installed....the thing doesnt want to connect to mobile data...keeps showing the H then disconnects and repeats. Just happened recently and has been working fine on official nightly builds.
been searching around and seen others with the same issue but havent seen a fix for it
apn is correct
anyone have any idea's?
Found an answer to this in another thread. Apparently its a problem with the audio routing fix in CM roms that causes data issues in some devices.
I flashed: http://d-h.st/RFY this and it data is back to normal.
Did you flash that after wipe or over the top? I just wiped and flashed and am continuing to get the flashing data. Restoring back to Sense works and is an option, but the oddest thing for me was that this issue occurred like over night, without any installation on my part.

I actually flashed the superwipe.zip I had on my sd from a different rom I had installed then flashed that rom from the link and it worked great.
I think the superwipe was in the elegencia rom thread in development.
gotcha, ARHD also has the Superwipe.zip Thanks for the tip.

I was on ATT 2.20 and just got root. Flashed Viper XL 2.1.1 and everything seems to be working great except MMS. I have the pta APN selected and that seems to match correct settings according to what I can find here. regular text and data connection seem to be fine just wont send pics. Any Ideas? I did a full wipe before flash and had to apply the camera fix.

I have been unable to send or receive MMS messages to/from anyone. Outgoing messages just get stuck at "sending" and I've had multiple people try to send me an MMS. I believe my APN settings are correct based on other threads here. Has anyone else seen/dealt with/have a solution for this bug?
I'm currently running CM10.1 April 8 Nightly off of a clean complete wipe flash, but I believe the problem has occurred with prior versions as well.

I saw some commits related to unicode encoding with the MMS app. It's possible (Disclaimer: I am not a dev, these are just theories) that these have something to do with the MMS issue. You could extract the MMS.apk from a prior build (where your MMS was still functional) and push it to /system/apps, rename your current MMS.apk to MMS.bak (just in case), set permissions to R-W, R, R, then reboot. If that works then we know there's an issue with the CM commits to the MMS.apk.
Had the same problem this morning. Turns out I had mobile data turned off.

I've been having the same issue since sometime in march. Also running CM nightlines. I've read it may be something to do with the Access Point Names but no solution is given

What that means is that your APN's might not be configured properly. Compare them to the ones listed here. If that doesn't fix the MMS issue then we'll have to investigate further.

Hmm. Interesting. And you're using the stock MMS app in the CM Nightlies? Have you tried updating to a newer version?

I've put in a trouble call with AT&T hopefully they find something....
So according to AT&T there are no network problems but my phone is not responding to push notifications from them. They want me to bring it into a "core" store to have it checked out (not going to happen on behalf of the rooting/custom ROM). I'm wondering if my Android ID#/device hostname may have changed when I did a full wipe? Although I'm not even sure that would have any effect on my problem. I'm just tossing out ideas.

If I were you I'd just make a nandroid backup of my current setup, transfer that (and any other important data) to either my external or PC, ODIN back to stock and head over to an AT&T store. Just my two cents. You can always re-root and flash a custom ROM again. If you'd corrupted something through flashing (not saying you did, just a thought) getting AT&T to straighten it out and then going custom from there might be your best option.

Sinnce AT&T uses the IMEI number as the ID for the device, that wouldn't be the issue you aren't receiving push messages. I agree with mrfeuss, back up the phone, flash the stock rom, and go have AT&T fix it on their end. Then you can re-root and install your custom ROM again. Better to have them look at it than live without MMS.

Just used Odin to flash back to stock. After the Odin reboot how long should it take for the phone to start up? I've been sitting on the ATT logo screen for a few minutes now.... please don't tell me I bricked....
Never mind, figured out my own mistake..... Always factory reset/clear data before flashing!
Sorry if this is a repeat but I can't seem to find a similar problem. After staying on froyo for 2 years my phone started to slow down and give random application errors. I decided to try a new rom for the first time. I tried installing clockworkmod recovery and almost bricked my phone. A flash with gingerbread using odin got a working os on my infuse again. This came with red recovery already installed. For 2 weeks I used this rom and found that my dataconnection was super slow, random app errors and almost no wifi reception drove me to try something else. I flashed gingerbread bootloaders to get rid of the rainbow recovery(literally could not see a thing in recovery) and factory reset, cleared cache and flashed CWM 9 for infuse this post. This rom is running fast, data and wifi are great but there is a serious error. When I make a call, after selecting the number to call the screen goes black and unresponsive. No amount of button pushing will bring it back. Also you can see that the IR light on the front of the phone next to the phone turns on. The call is made and when the recipeint hangs up the phone will come back. If there is no cell signal this does not happen, the call screen normally appears and you can cancel the call. I have cleared cache, wiped data and dalvik cache, then reflashed this rom and the problem persists. I also downloaded a 3rd party dialer which displays the same symtoms. Is there a way to fix this? Is there a better rom to use? Any suggested workarounds would be nice. I would just like to get my phone back to a stable working os as I use it for android development. Some things specific to my situation: I live in Poland now. My phone is unlocked from ATT&T to work on european networks. This was working fine on froyo. I would post this on the developer thread but I don't have permission to do so yet. Thanks in advanced for any help/suggestions.
Go to delopment section and find cm10.1 by scott hart and odin back to stock with root/cmw follow instruction exactly the way the are coming from stock and should be good to go. And install GB bootloaders it will take care of not seeing recovery clearly and u can find how tos in stickies in delopment(I think) but do or research before u ask a lot of question and post bug. Its a good idea to read last 3-10 pages on a tom or going to install to know if there are any major issues or bugs.
This is just advise I have done what I telling and have not problems but i am not responsible if u brick ur phone

Thanks for the help. I did try a different dialer which I downloaded from the market, but it had the same problems. I have already moved on to Jelly Bean and so far everything is working great. One problem that I still have is my Titanium Backup of my contacts wont work. This happened in ICS as well. Titanium says it works and suggests a reboot. After rebooting still no contacts. Unfortunately I didn't have these contacts synced with my Google account. Any ideas on how to extract the contact information from titanium and import it to the contacts app? I know the backup is good, I was able to use it when I updated to Ginger Bread.

I've got an idea, I think my problem is because I didn't make a fresh backup after I flashed ginger bread. I think the 'contacts' app must have changed database formats between froyo and ICS. If I were able to take that backup file and load it into an AVD, then restore my contacts and export them to my gmail account I think I could recover them on my phone without reflashing GB to do a fresh/compatible backup. Do you think it's possible or would most likely fail. I've never tried to bring files into an AVD but I do know that I have internet connectivity while debugging apps. It seems possible that I should be able to send files to the AVD as well.

Whenever I send a text message, I get a "message not sent" error. I have service, and I can receive messages and make phone calls. This only occurs on any of the new roms for me though. I am currently running an older version of Beanstalk, because that is all that works. The radio that I have flashed is the UCMC1. I have tried various other roms, without different result, and have tried reflashing my radio, and have tried other radios too, but receive no service at all with other radios. Any ideas?

when did it start happening? what service provider?
first thing i would say is check your flashing procedure. If you are clean flashing then then not much could be said. Are you checking MD5 for file integrity? Try flashing from internal memory not external.
I will say that this just began happening to me inconsistenly running the latest stable version of CM. But it was only for a period of time.
Raptor, that is a great idea. I don't really know why that never dawned on me, so I'll give it a try. Still kind of curious as to why it would freak out on me in the first place.
And this started around two months ago if I recall correctly. I've been using one of the very oldest 4.3 beanstalks for our phone if I recall correctly. I've always done clean flashes, so that shouldn't be the issue, and MD5 sums have looked good.
Well, I'm having some issue with using my backup apk from the working rom. It gives me a "there was a problem parsing the packages" error after pushing it to the system/app file. No other third party apps are working to send texts either.
