I am in the market for a new phone I am currently running a droid x2 the phone itself is not bad other than the low memory and almost no more development for roms, so I'm trying to decide between a droid razr Maxx and a droid razr M both phones seem to have similar specs, the major difference I seen really was the faster processor on the M. the maxx is slightly cheaper as well. so which should I go with? I want a well performing decide that has development on going.

I'm upgrading tonight and finally ditching the Droid X. I'm either getting the HTC Rezound or the Droid Razr Maxx. Both have tons of pros and cons. I need your opinions. Please help!

razr maxx, the phone is actually amazing and the battery lasts as long as your grandma's brick phone.
I would suggest to wait it out and take a look at the Incredible 4G or whatever variant of the SIII Verizon gets. Also take a look in the marketplace, sometimes you can get a Maxx or Rezound for around $300 which .. well the phone on a contract is like $200 then you can save your upgrade for later
Razr Maxx all the way. The battery life is amazing.
Is it easy to root the maxx? Or has Motorola made it a pain in the ass to deal with the bootloader?

How is that my verizon droid razr hd with 1gb ram is getting better scores in benchmarking than a Verizon galaxy s3 with 2gb ram? Even though they both have a 720p screen but the RAZR has higher PPI and resolution is lower cuz of the on screen buttons. Why is this?

Weird do you have them both stock is the s3 not rooted/debloat cuz those things make a difference plus there is alot you can do to create false benchmark

Definitely is weird. Both phones are stock and beyond bloated. I would assume that the s3 with 2gb ram would out preform the RAZR hd

The Maxx HD consistently gets higher scores than most other devices, even though it has lower specs. I think it has all to do with how the processor is optimized: as in maybe the RMHD devotes more power to whatever is running in the foreground than other phones do. That's my best guess.

My Razr HD is getting worse scores in antutu, than an s2, well ok, the s2 is rooted and got nothing on it...
and the razr is my everyday phone, with some apps and stuff...
but still 3000 points less
Yea that's what I was thinking myself too. Since each phone has different modified os. Supposedly moto phones are somewhat close to stock android since Google bought them

Maybe an app you have is causing the low scores or maybe you're running the test with a low battery

I'll tell you why. Benchmark apps are flawed. Real world performance over benchmark numbers any day.
I wonder if the new droids are worthy enough to upgrade. ? Currently owned RAZR Maxx HD.

Well, the 2x RAM helps. You lose the on screen keys . Then active notifications and touch free control are pretty nice.

I left the s4 and couldn't be happier. This phone will probably not get the recognition that it deserves because of the X but it should be considered the best at the moment. I don't believe anyone will be able to top this because they are all fighting over who has the biggest cpu and not who can actually match the iPhone. This phone does match it. You have to own it to know what I mean.

Aye, active notifications + touchless controls and performance make this phone a star.
Well worth the upgrade. I jumped from my Rezound to the Mini and I don't have a bad thing to say about it. My battery life is insane (spent a whole day Trying to kill it and only managed to drop it to 43%), super quick, good feel, and clean interface. I pretty much love this phone. Since the Mini is essentially the same thing as the Maxx and Ultra I'd say all three likely rock.

I seem to remember having read that the the moto x, MAXX, and Ultra were so similar that they could use each others ROMS, is this true?
The Maxx and Ultra are exactly the same aside from the battery size. The Moto X is very close to the same as well

I like my droid 2 a lot.
Do they even make new phones with real keyboards?
if so, are any significantly better than droid 2?
I have a Droid 4 and it's really nice (especially with CyanogenMod 11 )
I too have the droid 4 with cm11, and works well.
Been rumors of a droid 5, for a while now.
