I tried installing CM 10.1 from the newest Synergy ROM today, and all of my gallery stuff is gone, plus all of my Titanium backups. I assume this is because it isn't seeing my internal storage. Help please?

Look under /data/media or even under /0. It's all been moved there bud, due to the multi-user functionality of JB 4.2
Do I move those files somewhere or something?

Sorry, your "old" data is under /sdcard/0. Pretty sure you want your internal storage data that you intend to actively use under /sdcard for JB 4.2 roms. It should be under /sdcard/0 which makes it appear as though its inaccessible on AOSP roms.
More info here and here.
I'm using a TW rom so I'm not looking at this directly in front of me btw.
Not having much luck with this unfortunately.

I moved the files with root explorer as that link says to do, and now there's nothing in the 0 folder, and also nothing in the sd card folder. I don't understand what I did wrong.
Which is weird because I just tried flashing back to Synergy, and then downloading and installing a clean CM Rom and wiping from Rom Manager, and the files still are not there. But they are there in Synergy.
Screenshot where your internal storage data is located presently OR post the exact file path where it's located. And are you sticking with AOSP or TW? For TW, leave your data in /sdcard.
Moving from TW to AOSP 4.2, /sdcard gets moved to /sdcard/0. Simultaneously, it recreates new folders so you'll have empty folders in /sdcard that were rebuilt once you boot into the 4.2 rom. Cut and paste the "old" data in /sdcard/0 to that newly recreated directory once you verify that's where your "new" data is saving to. You can verify by taking a random picture then looking where it's saved to in the file system

Everything was in the 0 folder until I moved it to the root of the sdcard. Now everything is empty.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Hopefully this works. But this is as of right this second on the Synergy rom.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
So in /sdcard, do you now have all your folders containing photos, Titanium Backups, and etc? As in, can you access them with the file manager?
Also, does every folder in /sdcard have a "." in front of the name?
I have them, but can only see them in Synergy, and not in CM

Aight, give me like twenty minutes to flash an AOSP 4.2 rom and look at this first hand. Maybe I'm just not understanding how to resolve your problem due to file paths.
But do you want to stick with AOSP 4.2 or stick with TW?
This is my current setup, I'm just trying to go over to the newest nightly build of Cyanogen and this is my only issue. But as I think I mentioned before, I'm pretty sure I moved all of the files in the 0 folder over to the sdcard root this morning, and now everything is gone.

Hmm, did you wipe the internal storage when flashing going from CM to Synergy? Cuz it wouldn't disappear when moving to a TW rom from AOSP since recovery doesn't wipe /data/media unless the internal storage is wiped.
If I'm understanding you, none of your pics/TB backups/etc are in data/media or /sdcard or /sdcard/0 or /data/media/0? It's just empty folders whenever you look in those places?

That is exactly the issue. No problems in Synergy, but CM doesn't see any of it.
How about under /storage do you see an folder titled "emulated"
Screenshot taken from CM and these folders are empty as well.

Well, I just succesfully did the cleanup batch thing, but Im inside cwm now, I can't access my internal storage, says E:can't mount /emmc/, if I try to mount usb storage it says
E:Unable to write to ums lunsfile (No such file or directory)
Should I reinstall cwm? Re-root? Pretty confused here
edit: I reinstalled cwm, working fine now, will come back if ive got any more problems

is your internal storage working properly? That was the problem with flashing a non GB ROM first, if I remember correctly

Ya, I just had to go into vold.fstab and change 2 numbers so I can make internal storage my main storage cuz I don't have a sdcard but ive always had to do that on ICS/jb ROMs.

I'm not running CM10 but I can say that ROM is probably at least 150MB. Every nightly you download and don't delete is taking up space on one of your SD cards.
The updater app should tell you where it is downloading the files to.

OP doesn't know where they are, tho I believe the CM10 updater allows you to pick and choose to delete files.
OP: I'm not positive but I believe there's a directory made on the internal sdcard called cmupdater or something to that effect. I haven't been on CM10 for almost a month.

It saves the apk & data on a file on your sd. Just put the backup in your new phone sd and tb will recognize it.

It probably restored the data on the SD. Use a file explorer and try to paste and replace it in root.
You would have to find the file in the phone data I think. Can't rmb.

Can I make a backup of WiFi settings - passwords from one Rom and restore them to another?

Running carbon ROM 1.3 my internal sdcard is not showing my anything that I have downloaded anymore on to my phone. The downloaded folder has disappeared and my music is not showing in es explorer. Though I can still play the files that I cant find, searches turn up negative when I connect it to the computer also. Only the external downloads show. Out of nowhere I'm now seeing Samsung apps and all share flees that weren't there before.
I also have multiple storages I can choose from that lead me to the same place ( see attached). I've used as rescan with no help coming from it. Any way i can go in and fix this error? Or even find out what's causing it?
Any help appreciated. Thanks much

People don't seem to be getting it. 4.2.2 ROMs will put a 0 folder on your internal SD. This will render everything outside of the folder "gone". Its all due to 4.2's multi user thing. I would recommend flashing back to 4.1.2, then using the file explorer move your music inside that 0 folder if you're planning on using 4.2.2 for any length of time. Either that or just start putting all your important stuff into your external then you don't have to worry about any of it

I'm aware of .2 and cwm /0 issue. The thing is this was not there before. This just started today. Been on the ROM for a while and this happened out nowhere. There was never anything more than SD card /0. Now unknown files are displaying and familiar files have disappeared. I'll try regardless though

Any idea how to get these to go away and keep my files? My actual files are stored on the last sub folder named 0. This always happens whenever I flash a new ROM and it freakin sucks!
I even lost my nandroid backup! This is infuriating! I'm lucky that I only use this for entertainment and nothing important was lost.

Please inform me your recovery version. One of Google result for "/data/.layout_version": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34231316.
"In Android 4.2 multi user accounts is introduced. The first time you update to 4.2 data of the first account is moved from*/data/media*to*/data/media/0. Let's call this process migration. A file is written in this process as well:*/data/.layout_version*This file is important. It holds information that the migration has been completed and should not take place during other factory resets in the future). But during a factory reset this file is removed. Effectively stating that the migration has not occured, hence the reoccuring migration (data/media/0,*data/media/0/0,data/media/0/0/0*etc) after consecutive factory resets."

But if you are not careful when flashing ROMs, you can end up with extra 0 directories, because custom recoveries do not usually format data/media by default when doing a factory reset. Formatting the internal sdcard, before flashing will fix the multiple 0 directories, which can be a nuisance.
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
By formatting /data, if recovery can not handle it well, then this problem will be reproduced. You also can reproduce this problem by removing /data/.layout_version  I knew about this problem because my work on dual booting kernel, when CM 10.1 refused to boot. Resolved by "echo -n 2 > /data/.layout_version"
