I have Prime v1.6 and Netformer 1.5.
I turned it up to 1.4ghz and i ran the Quadrant benchmark, i got a 2031.
now im looking on some websites and they show they got over 4000?
what's with this? am i getting correct numbers or not?

If your TF isn't fully stable at a certain clockspeed then performance of the device may be affected resulting in a lower benchmark result.
A lot of these benchmarks are flawed and can be hacked. I get 35xx at 1.5 GHz on Revolver 1.1.1

i want to root and overclock my TF300T
for the overclocking:
-Can i use setcpu ? What other tool is good for OC ?
- Do i need a Costum ROM for overclocking to 1.5Ghz (MAX!)
-Will the performance be a lot better ? or just better ? or no diffrence ?
-What is the highest possible OC ?

If you are on ICS you can over clock to 1.5 no problem. I don't know about Setcpu on ICS, but I do know EzOverclock works.
If you upgraded to Jellybean, I don't know of anyway to overclock as of yet. EzOverclock won't work on Jellybean and reportedly causes boot loops. I tried setcpu on my Jellybean Tf300 and found the CPU to be maxed at 1.3.

It really depends on how you use the tablet, and where your bottleneck is. My feel is that I/O is the biggest bottleneck on the ASUS pads and the effects are felt across the board. I believe ASUS is working on a fix, though. Fingers crossed.
I/O notwithstanding, day-to-day tasks like email and web browsing don't need a 1 Ghz. Even video playback won't be affected by the difference between 1.2 Ghz (the ASUS performance mode) and 1.5 Ghz (typical max OC). Rendering graphics, I'm not sure how much is offloaded to the GPU, so games or graphic heavy applications may be where you'll see the most gains.
EZoverclock don't work on JB it will keeps restarting your tablet when EZoverclock starts.
And other apps work but can only be set to 1.3 so no overclock on JB with this kernel.
I think in graphically intense applications, such as games, would offer the most notable difference even with gpu offloading since not all instructions are graphics related. That being said just know that battery life will take a hit.
Remember...... as of now EzOverclock will not work in Jellybean.....

Hi, i'm an italian user and I don't understand something about live oc in some threads. I read that Live Oc isn't compatible with Jellybean, but in other post someone said that this problem is fixed... but there isn't JB kernel that has it! ... so, i will ask you what is the real situation.
Why I ask this? ..becouse my Nexus S reboot with 1200 OC and lag with standard clock... so 1100 Mhz are perfect for me

i used to have 110% liveoc with stock voltages and max freq 1000->1100!
Try rising your voltage to 1375 or 1400 at 1.2 ghz

Overclocking and undervolting is highly debatable, some say its good and some say its bad... so its upto you to decide and proceed further
First rule of overclocking.. Your Mileage May Vary
Most of the people here in xda do know about overclocking and stuffs but still there are many who are so eager to overclock their device . Hence this guide.
I have given some good info below about these stuffs as far as i can , you can always use google to get further details.
What is overclocking?
Overclocking is the process of making a computer or component operate faster than the specified clock frequency by the manufacturer by modifying system parameters. One of the most important techniques is running at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second; hence the name "overclocking")
Operating voltages may also be changed (increased), which can increase the speed at which operation remains stable.
Advantage:
You can get more performance from your chipset, though s4 is already fast you can see the visible changes in application execution time and much more like instant response time.
Disadvantage:
* Overclocking is always risky if something is configured improperly and may also result in permanent damage to your hardware. As long as it is done safely you are good to go.
* You may see some increased power consumption.
* Extreme overclocking might kill your hardware.
Undervolting :
The process where you provide less voltage to your cpu rather than the stock voltage.
Advantage:
* Reduced heat from your device.
* Good battery life.
Disadvantage:
* Extreme undervolting will make your device unstable and some times even end up with a boot loop.
Apart from the voltage table defined below for exynos the below mentioned data are common for 9500/9505
Overclocking in Exynos Octa:
Exynos 5410 is already one among the best performing chipset available, so overclocking this device is not going to give us any visible performance improvements except the benchmark scores. Underclocking is a different story on 9500, since the cpu temperature easily reaches upto 90C (90C is the throttle temperature defined for this device in the kernel, so its normal) undervolting the device will help in reducing the overall temperature of the device considerably. I highly recommend undervolting the device instead of overclocking it.
Exynos 5410 has 2 cpu clusters, stock voltages and available steppings are given below

Though the cpu frequency table has steppings upto 2ghz the max stable clock i have seen so for on s4 is 1800mhz.
Requirements:
1. Kernel with overclocking/undervolting support.
2. stweaks or android tuner to change frequency/voltage.(you can use the app of your choice here).
3. set cpu and stability test to test the stability of CPU.
4. Some patience.
The below mentioned steps are common for 9500/9505
Step 1:
Set the current clock and voltage you want to test via android tuner/stweaks. (Select max frequency in cpu tab).
Example:
*If you want to test under volting for 1.4 ghz with 1050 mv (1100 is the default) then set 1.4 ghz as max clock and 1050mv as its voltage.
*If you want to test overclocking @ 1.7 ghz with 1150 mv (1200 is the default) then set 1.7 ghz as max clock and 1150 mv as its voltage.
Step 2:
Open set cpu's cpu stress test and run it for atleast 10 minutes. If you didnt get any errors or hang during the testing period and if the test completed successfully then the clock is ready for daily use
Step 3:
Now for undervolting use the same tools and reduce the voltage by -25mv.
Repeat step 2.
you can reduce the voltage further by -25 mv after every successful completion of stress test (Advanced users can try reducing -50mv )
Step 4:
Repeat step 1,2 and 3 for every possible cpu clock you see in android tuner/stweaks.
Note the stable cpu voltage for every clock, once you finish testing all your clock values save it as a profile and/or set it on boot.
Voila !!! now you have finished overclocking/ under voting your device.
Notes:
1. Never ever use set on boot option until you find the stable clock and voltage settings.
2. Not all chips are capable of running at higher speeds like 1800 mhz. Those speeds are highly experimental.
3. Recommended max overclocking is 1700 mhz.
4. If your device gets hotter allow the device to cool for few minutes before starting the test.
5. Either use stweaks or android tuner(or some other app), dont mix up.
6. Combining the overclocking and undervolting will give you the best of both the worlds
In case of emergency:
1. If your device becomes unstable and not responsive either press the power button until your device restarts or pull out your battery.
2. Android tuner has an option to create flashable zip for resetting the voltage table, use it if needed.

I do not know if am I doing it right or doing it wrong, but my phone runs without the (very occasional) hiccups and is as cool as it can be....and dat wat metters to me

hmm, with 400Mhz more You have same results as stock? something is wrong, maybe settings do not apply or overheating is causing cpu throttling down so scores are so low.

Every chips has different mileage, even if his chip runs at 2ghz, it will throttle down in very few seconds.

absolutely Zero issues.....camera opens at the blink of an eye. Am on wanams MEA firmware, trimmed and themed by me according to my need.

I increased the voltages as advised by u but the quadrant results are around 13000 benchmark...
I'm currently using Omega 8/Perseus 3.4 along with the cross breeder....
My phones very snappy but just wondering about the quadrant result... Is there anything I'm missing???

Dear XDA people,
Im currently working with Max's V4 RC2 kernel in combination with Cromi-X 4.6.9 (still need to update to the latest), which gives me a pretty smooth working tablet.
Now, im running the cpu at 1900mhz, 1225mV (still testing if i can go lower), and I can adjust speed and voltage nicely with Trickster Mod.
But, I would wan't to crank up the gpu speed (which is currently 666mhz I think?) and have the same "options/settings" available to do so. For example, a rom limitation of 750/800mhz on the gpu, with a variation of voltages to choose from. This way I can get as much gpu power as possible, since i find gaming on the tf700 pretty disappointing in terms of performance (of course a lot of games are not optimized for tegra).
Do you guys know what would be the best possible solution to overclock/adjust the gpu speed+voltage?

I think 666mhz GPU setting is probably reserved for Satans minions. At the moment the only way to control GPU speed is by adjusting the voltage. This is easiest using hunds kernel (3.1 if you have problems with 3.2) and his app. Together, you can crank the GPU all the way up to 775MHz and fry some eggs on the back of your TF700 and waiting for it to go into nuclear meltdown.
I know the gpu runs hot, thats why I want to see what speeds can be achieved with limited voltage. So you‘re saying the only way to change gpu speed is by setting a higher voltage for it? Why is that exactly?

You've posted this in the wrong forum, so it will be deleted, in the mean time there is really no reason to use 1900mhz even less so while gaming. 1700mhz at max (it can go higher but you wont see much change/ if at all in benchmarks/ games but u'll see the difference in battery life)
As for gpu i run 750 mhz but again the difference between 650 - 750 mhz is hardly noticeable, gaming performance isn't great on the tf700, the tf300t doesn't look as good but its noticeably smoother with 3d
Moral of the story the tegra 3 gpu isn't powerful enough for 1920x1200 the tegra 4 wont be much better, the tegra 5 is the interesting one

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Unless you want to learn to create kernels and do all the magical voodoo these wizards do to bring us OC kernels!

I have no idea, been wondering that myself. I even posted the question somewhere about a week ago, but no one enlightened me. I really reccomend using hunds kernel and app though. There is a "gaming" option in his app that works very well, good speed without the ominous red glow of molten metal on your TF700's back panel.

Are you saying increasing gpu voltage will subsequently increase gpu frequency? (i have no idea how it works, ive never bothered to look into it but now im interested) _that or Hunds will know but im guessing if thats the case freq and voltage must be linked in a voltage table but i would have thought freq could be changed independently to voltage

I know the tf700 isnt much of a gaming tablet unfortunately, but then again, why not setting it up so that it runs games as smooth as the hardware will allow ? Every small improvement is an improvement if you ask me.

I'm using hundsbuahs latest kernel, the problem with tegra CPUs is thermal throttling, it starts around 72c on a lot of devices (not sure about the tf700) at 1900 you could find worse gaming performance than a lower cpu / GPU clock speed. Its completely up to you, hundsbuahs kernels give users a lot of flexibility as they can push the devices to the limit, I like _that's kernels personally they suited to my usage (what ever that means)
