[Q] flashable zip for homescreens? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I know I saw in a thread a while back there was a way to create a flashable zip of your homescreens so that after you flash a new ROM you could then just flash the zip to reset your homescreens and entire set up back to how you had it.
Anyone have any idea where that is or how to go about it?
Any help is really appreciated!!

Haven't heard of that, but if you use nova launcher you have the option to import your configuration and backup afterwards. The backup option in nova works exceptionally well

I dont know if this what you meant or not but if you're using using Rom toolbox pro, you can back up your phone data, including wallpaper and widgets, and then restore you phones data after you flash a new rom. I don't know if this will make it 100% the way it was before or not though.

Create ROM from current android phone setup

I just setup my Droid Incredible with the MIUI ROM and adjusted all of the settings the way I like it (wifi, ringtones, layout, etc.). Is there a way to somehow spin that into a flashable rom?
Bump
I want to do the same thing! I have FireFly3.0 installed and want to try out a 2.3.3 rom, but don't want to have to endure all the pain of having to set everything back up if I find it unstable. A "known good" rom, if you will.
Can't you just use rom manager to create a backup, and pull it off the phone and keep it safe? I seem to recall using restores when I tried roms that I didn't like the feel of.
Yeah, it's called a nandroid backup. Boot into recovery, do your backup, then wipe and flash the other rom. If you decide you want to go back to your old setup, restore from the nandroid backup and everything will be just as it was. Like nothing ever happened...

For work I made a pre-configured phone with our own software
wich is used for consumer research.
I want to make a rom from this phone so I can distribute this on
the hundrets of phone's we are having.
(There's no *.apk or setup package from our own written software,
we use 2 *.bat files to reset the phone and install our software)
What's the most easyest / effecient wat to do this?
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Ace
Running: Gingerbread 2.3.6
Thank you in advance

[Q] Customizing a custom ROM

Hey guys,
i was wondering, if there is a possibility to customize a custom ROM. I found a great one but, as almost every ROM, it consists of apps i dont need/want. Removing is not possible (or possible?). I already tried to unpack it with osKitchen, but it crashes because "its a custom ROM".
Are there any other options to make it works?
Thx a lot,
Darkslider2k4
If you use titanium backup you should be able to delete any app you want. Or you can use a program called 7 zip, unzip it, take out and add what you want and zip it back up. This is useful for apps that you can't install such as theme chooser for CM7.
I do not use titanium backup, software which is better?
No, iam not using titanium backup. Its a Windows Mobile (6.5) Phone.
I already tried to unzip it with 7-zip, but its impossible. He always whines that the file Gambit 1.3.2048 RC2 - Sense 2.5.2019|Titanium cannot be opened as an archive.
But you get my intension? I want to customize a ROM, which is done by an user (the one i linked).
Thx

[Q] Best Back up app?

I would like to change to a cooked rom so I would like to extract, back up or zip my entire OEM rom as it is right now in the event I want to put it back on the phone.
I have browsed around but I am unsure what the best method for doing this is. All the backup apps I find just back up apps and settings. I want to back up and save the entire rom, if possible with settings and all intact as it is currently on the phone...
Any suggestions on what I can use and the correct method to do this.
Thanks

Go into TWRP, backup data and system and whatever else you want, wipe data, flash new rom. Success!
Anyone tried OrangeBackup?
This is a question and belongs in Q&A, and to answer your question, Titanium Backup has never failed me :good:

CWM Restore options/MOAR Lag

Kind of a 2 headed post here.I installed MOAR yesterday and it seems any Touchwiz that I install either has serious lag or buggy or both.No bugs with MOAR but stupid lag.My wife's stocker is so much faster.Followed the ROM guide and set animation to.5 and made sure that option is developer options was unchecked as recommended.Wiped cache and Davlik,Fixed permissions phone runs the same,as in not good.
Any advice for lag fix is much appreciated.
Part 2: I can't restore my Liquid Smooth backup from CWM.I get a restore error almost immediately.I do have all of my CWM backup files on my PC.
Question is: How do I go about restoring those backup files?
My thought was to flash back to stock via Odin and then do I just flash CWM,transfer my backup file and then run a restore?Wouldn't mind doing that to clean up all of my /0 directories anyway.Just wondering if that will work and is a good way to go about it.
Thanks all.

[Q] custom gapps with purchased apps

i want to make a custom gapps.zip with purchased apps. its only for my own phone (same google-acount). i dont want to reinstall all apps, it needs to many time.
how can i extract/porting purchased apps from my phone for a custom gapp-zip?
i only know, i can use an original gapp-zip but cant rezip it, have to open it with winrar and drag`n`drop it... right?
i want to do this because i want to be the maintainer of the HTC One X (endearovu) and dont have a second one... not enough money... but next month i buy a second
its NOT for ilegal use!!!
You can make a new one for your system and user apps. If you know anything about using adb you can manually make flashable zips of your apps and read how to use adb from here.
http://varunbpatil.github.io/2013/03/02/apps-zip/
If you want to use an app to automatically do it you can try ZipMe app from the Google Play Store. I don't know how good it is. I use titanium backup most times. Test it on one app first. ZipMe has worked on my phone.
Make a zip of apps or data or apps + data and then copy it to sd card or to a usb storage then you can flash it using a custom recovery or some other way. Titanium Backup Pro can do it but it's the paid version that has the extra things like making zips.
You can make a nandroid backup then use the nandroid manager app to extract apps and data from the nandroid backup.
I would wipe cache and dalvik cache when flashing any zips before restarting or while in recovery before starting

Go to Menu, Batch Actions.
Make a backup of any apps and data you want.
Go to Menu, Batch Actions.
In Recovery spot create an update.zip
Select the apps you want and name the zip.
Don't select exclude system APKs
Check sign with Zip file (with zipsigner)
It goes into sdcard folder then you can flash the file when you want to.

@cyrok
It is courier or haze font.
I can't get it to let me install the courier, and app force closes if i try to install that one. I can't install that font again to see which of the two it is. It is one of those from the app Font Installer root.
thats great ^^ i found the deathnote font!!! thx ^^
great app!

The font looks a little different on one deathnote than the tablet ? I use CloudyG3 rom , dorimamx kernel and twrp recovery. I like to switch between different roms and try different ones so i have ways to backup and restore everything to new one.

thats a great thing to switch but i am more PAC rom specific link
jyes if you see the fine deathnote font on a 10" screen with 1280x800 where the fine lines betwen the pixels goes lost and see the font (theoretical... dont works ) on a 720p screen with 4,7" that can show the fine lines...
however it feels stupid to use an tablet with a lower resolution than my phone...
