[Q] Case should I get best protection but not to bulky ? - HTC Inspire 4G

It's a fairly personal choice on cases. You can browse eBay and amazon to see if there are any you like. For protection many go with an otterbox commuter or defender. I've used a casemate tough on my inspire for a couple years now and its suited me perfectly.

I have to agree that these three cases are definitely the way to go. However, based off the title of the thread, I would recommend to stay away from the Defender as it is rather bulky. This is where many typically go with the commuter case. I will definitely agree with the CaseMate Tough case though. It does not add a lot of bulk and it has outstanding grip. The commuter series tends to be kind of slick because of the outer plastic, but Casemate remedied this by using a nicely textured plastic that works great for gripping.

Case mate cases

I am debating which case to buy the tough case or the barely there case!!!
Anyone 's comment is appreciated!!

Barely there case, protection from minor scratches occuring from sliding your phone accross a table, doesnt not add any fall protection to it and it is not raised enough to keep your screen from being scratched if layed on its face.
Tough Case adds minor fall protection and is raised in the front to protect the screen if you lay it on its face or it falls on the face. Doesn't add alot of bulk to the phone.
I would honestly not recomend getting the Barely There case unless you are 1: Not Clumsy 2: Have a sit on your but at a desk job all day 3: Don't have any young kids or roudy pets.
I would recomend getting either a Casemate Tough Case - Casemate Pop Case - Otterbox Commuter/Defender Case.
Oh and a Zagg Shield for the screen.. those things are freakin insanely hard to screw up.
I'm using the Black Barely there, its awesome
I am using the Tough Case and I love it. Not much bulk for a fair amount of protection.

I have EVERY colour of the Barely There, I absolutely love them (the white is my go to colour!). I have a few other cases, epik and one TPU plastic purple case from best buy, but none compare to slimness of the BT's.
Also depends on how you are with your device. Do you tend to throw it around, or are you careful with it? Barely There's are nice, but you'll need to be careful, as it's not a "full-coverage" kind of case.
Thank u all for the info. I have the tough case and it is great but it collects a lot lint and dust.
The barely there case should be here today, hopefully this one is the winner.

ive been using the casemate pop case..love it so far..
wouldnt mind trying out the otterbox defender or speck candyshell..
the barely there case doesnt seem like it has much protection..
I love my tough case, looks great and protection is great. Now if you are gonna be taking your SD card and battery out a lot, then it might be a pain..

I like white cases on my phones too, but I haven't tested this one...do you know if they get all grimy and yellow after a while??
Thanks!
i have the pop case as well. It seems to me like it protects the corners of the unit better. The tough case does not have a hard shell that extends around the corners of the phone.
I have the tough case and I love it. Feels great in the hand and protects the phone very well.
Nothing beats the case mate pop! Cases. **** design. Good durability.

The tough case works great for me. It seems to offer plenty of protection while adding minimal weight.
Can't say enough good things about the tough case, I love it!
I use the platinum case from best buy. Does what I need it to, though it is a little heavy.

[Q] otterbox or case-mate

after an otterbox defender or commuter or case-mate tough but not sure which case i should go for, advice please
I'm using otterbox and I'm happy with it. No problems with receiving any GPS signal...
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I'm using otterbox commuter only problem with it is part of the top part has broken off which seems to be a common problem. I believe they have lifetime warranty though. On another note it's now actually alot easier getting out of the case when I need to.
Otterbox
I love Otterbox and no problems with blocking signals
Using the CaseMate Tough for the last 6 months or so. Can't fault it. Extremely robust, no cracks etc.
No issues with GPS signal (that is limited to the mirror-silver version of CaseMate's "Barely There" product)
Otter Box
Definitely Otter box. I have had my Commuter for about a month now and no issues.
i love my otterbox commuter series but it gathers dust very quickly..

I switched from my casemate tough to an otterbox commuter because otterbox cases are supposed to be some of the best. I quite enjoy both cases BUT the CM tough is holding up better. The top part of my commuter has broken loose. Also, the commuter is very slick. The tough has a texture to it. My commuter took several slides off the car seat or out of my lap. Nothing major but kind of annoying.

My otterbox broke after a few months, quite poor quality to be honest, no drops or heavy bangs, just parts of the plastic section developed cracks. Using a casemate now.

Case-mate Tough rules!
I just got my case mate tough case and it's working great for me. It feels solid and looks nice on the phone.
I have all three cases, and mostly use the Defender since it has a belt holster, and it offers the most protection. I also like the material of the Defender case as well.
I prefer the Tough Case over the Commuter because of the grip it has, the Commuter is too slick IMO.
I've had the CaseMate Tough for about 6 months.
I can't fault it. It looks the same as it did on day 1. No damage at all to corners etc.
I must say I don't take the phone out a lot, but when I do, it comes out and goes back in perfectly. The silicone inner skin has not stretched at all since I got it either.
So it has passed the test of time
I use an Otter Box Defender and you could drive a tank over it, my phone is 11 months old and looks perfect out of the box.
Otterbox kicks a**...end of story.
Otterbox rules.
Matt
Bought a Otterbox -> send back
Bought a case mate -> send back
now im using a bugatti leather case
Been using Otterbox defender for 3 months now, no problem dropped it a few times sometimes it just flew out of my hand as I was turning around the phone with my finger. BUT NO WORRIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS LOL friends ask why did I buy this case which is so bulky. I just threw it up the sky and watch as it hit the cemented floor while my friends in shocked. NOTHING HAPPEN LOL didn't need to talk so much as the demonstration always works
Since I always rush around due to my job, all my previous phone dropped (well no cracked screen but case only most of them) w805i, k700i, x1, and.. er.. i remember having a bulky nokia phone... I can't seem to remember the name thought... looks like one of those mini laptop type. Anyway all of it experience drop while being used by me. But the conclusion is, I am really happy with this case as it serve its purpose
Im using the thin aluminium one from OBO store. For the price it is pretty good.

HTC One S Otterbox Defender case

Wow these new otterbox cases are way better then the old ones. The plastic isnt flimsy anymore and it fits it perfectly on the One S. I've spoken on it and used speaker phone and it doesn't make it harder to hear or be heard. A deff good buy and on amazon or ebay its only $35
I was wondering if anyone has seen any accessories that can fit to the otterbox defender case? Before I had my HTC HD2 and I had a car mount that fits the otterbox case perfectly.
I'm getting mine tomorrow. Does it come with a screen protector? Cause I like my InvisibleShield HD screen protector and want to keep using it.

I prefer my Skinomi TechSkin because it is the same thing but cheaper. I've used the Zagg products before, but wasn't impressed enough to get a replacement when my keys stretched it in my pocket and ruined it. I do love my TechSkin, however.
Got my defender today..Not that impressed with the built in screen protector. It seems to bubble and give you a tactical feel to it.
otterbox defender vs commuter
I'm thinking about buying this case but im not to sure.
For you guys that already have it i've got some questions.
This is for the defender:
How much weight does it add?
Since it has a screen protector I don't need to keep my old one on do i?
Does it have a non belt clip piece? (flat back)
For the commuter:
Sounds like this one doesn't fit correctly any feed back?
^^ No, OB Commuter Case fits well. Had one on my One S for a few weeks and been happy with it.
Just got mine today. First impression is great product. Will post in a few days after some real world usage.

I just got my Otterbox Defender case and I absolutely love it. Its a little bulky but I take my phone with me on my bicycle and this case really has the protection I need in case I drop it from the bike.
I like my Otterbox defender very much. Makes the phone a bit bulky but protection should be good. The only thing I recommend is to throw away the built in screen protector as it makes the readability of the screen really bad. I replaced it with a normal clear screen protector and now I am satisfied.

Thats what i was thinking about in case that screen protector sucked. I think i might go with it and if it sucks, just remove it and use a zagg or something like it!
need to buy one of those :good:
I don't notice any problems with the built-in screen protector. It works well and does't obscure anything on the screen, as far as I can tell.

I have both the commuter and the defender if you want good rugged protection defender is the way to go and like it the best the commuter is a great snug case kinda low profile and give good protection

I've got both now too, I ordered the Defender and they sent a Commuter by mistake, said keep it and we'll refund since we don't have the right one. Just got the Defender from another seller.
Build quality on both is really excellent, it took me a couple of minutes to work out how to get the Defender apart to get the phone in, it's that well put together.
The screen protectors on both leave a lot to be desired though, the one on the Commuter is good but leaves the top of the glass bare, the one built in to the Defender is just awful, it works fine but makes the screen very grainy.
My phones are subject to lots of bumps and knocks at work and good all round protection, especially for the screen when not in use, is important. The Defender with the addition of a decent screen protector fits the bill perfectly.
I got Commuter for mine, quite happy with it, but have to agree with the screen protector tho just doesn't cover all the screen so I left it off but in the 3 months I've had this case I've put it through a beating with no damage to my phone

otterbox defender vs commuter
i would go with the defender because what i see on the website it has a belt clip which the commuter doesn't have
Bit annoyed today, the retaining clip on my Otterbox holster snapped off while I was taking the phone out of it.
I'll get a chance to see how good Otterbox after sales service is.

Good protective case

Hi,
I'm looking for good protective case for my SGS. Case-Mate Tough for SGS 2 is very good and i'm looking for something alike for SGS. Any suggestions?
Otterbox comutter

I have been using a silicone case from eBay (not the cheapest one btw ) that looks like a tire tread and it really protects my SGS+. I accidentally dropped it a few times and not a scratch... That's just my 2cents
Casemate tough on the sgs is awesome.
Sent from my international Galaxy SIII, using XDA android app.
Im using a SGP Ultra Thin case off Ebay, i think i paid less than 5 USD for it.. Ive dropped my phone many times, and SGP allways saves it
Also using a silicone case. These are the best ones to protect our SGS. Even from high drops.
It also hides my screen protection, which adds a style effect

+1 for otterbox commuter
I like the slip cases.
I have one that has a little tab to pull out the phone part-way.
The case protects the screen and the phone from drops when in the case, but not while you're using it of course.
But I like my slim phone, I can't understand why people fit bulky cases!
Otterbox is the answer.
Case Mate Tough is the best - phone gets very good protection (i get several drops with no damage at all).

Best case for HTC One X

Hello fellow one X owners,
I am new to the community, thanks to Toaster Strudels. Anyways, I am looking for a case, costs are not an issue. What are some of the best cases to get for this device?
Thanks in advance!

I like the Seidio Active line, myself. I've used them on all of my Android phones and they offer great protection without adding much weight or bulk.

Cool man! I don't doubt you will like it. I'm staying tuned to this thread as I have a bit of a case addiction.

My wife uses the incipio sillicrylic it is a nice case, however I just cant stand the case being loose on the sides of my phone. I am using the speck candyshell and it is built well with no flapping of the inner layers.
The only knock against the candyshell is don't plan on taking it off and on a lot it is a beast to get the case off the phone.
Right now I'm using the Speck Candyshell with a Steinheil ultra crystal (I think) screen protector. I cn honestly say that out off all the cases I've used on all the phones I've owned, it seriously is amazing. Best one I've ever used. I always had an issue with dust, dirt, lint, or whatever else getting into my cases. So I started cleaning them every day. Well with this case, it's not an issue one bit!! It's a hybrid case. So it has a rock hard outer shell, with a nice hard silicone inside. The corners are almost "split" So if you drop it, the silicone will absorb all of the impact. Also, the edges on the front around the screen are all that same hard silicone. Couple it with a good seen protector and your good to go!!
Since its a hybrid case it doesn't add much thickness to the phone at all. It's amazing. Buttons all work perfect too.
It might be on the the expensive side, and a b*tch to get on and off at first... But it is WELL worth it!

So the silicrylic case arrived today I do like it however the loose silicone does bother me a little bit.
Also the ballistic slim case is not what I anticipated it to be. I'll probably be selling that and picking up the candyshell or feather case.

When playing with the silicone, yeah it is (compared to the Ballistics case for instance) but in real use it's treated me well. Did you get the incipio in a color other than black? If so, I may be interested in purchasing from you if you don't want it.
