I have a Samsung Galaxy S Duos (S7562). The data network for this device has been acting strange for the past one month. It randomly gets disconnected and I have to reset my phone and then it comes back. It isn't a problem of my network provider because I have shifted to another city and the problem hasn't gone away, it just happens less often. Should I get the phone checked in the service center? I'm running Android 4.0.4 which is the latest in my country India and I've already tried doing a factory reset. Please advice me.
Bump topic
Can somebody please help me?

You're stuck? What do you mean? Should I take it to a Samsung Service Center?
I'm still having the same issue. Is this common in dual sim phones? I'm going to take it to a Samsung service center tomorrow.

Try changing network settings to GSM only then use normal EDGE. For 3G keep the setting as WCDMA only. Avoid AUTO. Report back.

It's already in GSM mode. Also, should I select the network provider manually or set it to automatic selection?
Well, what do I do?

Hi guys, I have problem with my network connection also my 3g does not work anymore, I was playing with my phone with some secret codes like a ##72786# on my epic 4g touch sprint phone flashed to metro pcs and now I have no 3G service. In the setting menu under network status say Sprint. How can I get my 3g back?. The mobile net. 3G is on and the wifi is off. I need to change the network to metro pcs in the status setting and how can do that? Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad English.
Running ICS OS.
Can you re register your network by scanning network operators? If not you will need to Google APN settings for your network.

I've had this phone for a few months and I lost 4g on one of my first flashes. I've flashed a new rom almost daily sense then and have never gotten my 4g signal back. My 3g isn't too bad but I was wondering if anyone has a fix for this!? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have a similar problem, but much worse. I'm in South Korea and my phone ONLY uses 4g (no 3g or other options to check). After a failed rom and kernel flash, I nandroided back to stock but my 4g won't work, only wifi does. My Access Point Names says "LG U+" with "internet.lguplus.co.kr" underneath. There is no option to change it or edit it, just a radio button with no other options (is this is fine?). As for mmsc, I dont' know where that option is to change it, or if this is a problem (I was advised in another forum to change it's value).
As for the "Phone Info" app:
In Telephony, have a Device ID, my Network type is 3, Sim State 5, it shows I have a SIM operator and country, Serial Number Subscriber ID, etc. The only things that MAY be strange (I don't know what their original values should be) are that Call State, Data Activity and Data State are all 0 and my Network Operator Name, Network Operator and Network Country ISO are just blank. Even if I wanted to change any of these I have no idea how...
It is ridiculous, but I can not find how to enter Service Mode on N9005 device. All codes I found are unactive or blocked. I just want to switch 4G, which is active on my sim card, but it is samsung software limitation that holding me back in my country. What code should I use to switch on LTE/4G network? I wanr to enter Service Mode on my unrooted N9005 device.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Not. Samsung disabled all but a select few dialer codes.
You can give https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viaero4gtoggle a try, maybe it works.
You could always just flash a different version over it. As long as you stick to official and the same region, your KNOX stays at 0.
Same situation here I just want to turn on 4g and my service mode is blocked. Can you post if you find a solution. Thx

I also have tried everything I can find to get 4G or 4G LTE to work.. I actually spent about 30minutes with a wonderful ATT tech support guy who was going to call Samsung for me but my screen crashed and I lost the Chat session.. bummer.. He did ask if I had access to the 2100band but I couldn't for the life of me remember the code to get there.. I posted it up above..
On my phone I found that 850band will offer H, and 1900 will offer H+. the only network available in the area is one named Maritime.. No ATT though I have an ATT sim and it shows ATT on the lock screen on the 9005.
I can't figure it out. My APN settings are correct and copied from another Note3 900 ATT model from a Samsung rep at a Bestbuy.. My N3 900 model gets 4G and LTE with the same sim and network I haven't looked into setting further yet.. Will do tomorrow..
I was in Watford yesterday and my n9005 on 3 network automatically switched to 4G, got 21mbs down and 8mbs up. And they let you use it for free . Probably not a terribly helpful post but hey just thought I would share.

I too had difficulty getting 4G on my HK 9005 in the UK. I confirmed with the carrier (3) that my account was active for 4G but aside from that they couldn't help. In the end trying to rule out what it might be I found a friend of mine who was also on the same carrier and had 4G working for sure on a Sony Xperia and we swapped SIMs to see if his worked in my Note and vice versa. Now for the strange part. My SIM worked with 4G in his Sony and his SIM also started showing the LTE option in my Note. So we swapped back and my Note still continues to show LTE in the network options and now gets 4G with my SIM.
No other changes made and it works. Just swapped a known working SIM into mine and my SIM into a handset that was know to get 4G. Not sure which kicked it into action or why but I now have a Note that is happily running 4G.
Could be a bug, might or might not work for others, but thought I'd share just in case.

On O2 UK, they have to supply you a new sim card as the oldies don't support 4G. I never had it in the options list either, just 2G/3G. Sim swapped and I have to say.......POOR!!! Very rarely see 4G unless I am in the middle of nowhere! In town centre where I used to get H+, I now get 'G'.
Was it worth having an LTE phone?????
I'm running 4.4.2 on my LG G2 for AT&T
My wife just got the same phone and her phone shows 4G/LTE Mine shows only 4G
I checked our APN settings for both and they're the same
I checked through the 4636 code through the phone and it shows only the HSPA letters where hers shows up once again with LTE
ANY advice would be great
Try turning data off then on again, it will force it to search for the network.

i tried that one...and i tried the 4646 code and theres no option to change the NETWORK type...this friggin sux...no LTE on this phone and only "4G"...been tryng to figure this one out..
any advice much appreciated.
Maybe replace it?
If this is a new phone that you haven't tampered with, I suggest that you exchange it. New phones don't need any change in settings to connect to LTE out of the box.
Maybe it's a hardware problem. Did this problem just appear out of nowhere? (maybe after the update)?
Like the poster above if its stock return it otherwise reflash to stock to confirm the issue is still there, here's another thread dealing with the same issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702386

you might be 'ROAMING'
this happens to me. i think theres no att tower near me, i think they use someone elses lte tower, but half of the android phones ive used need roaming enabled to connect to lte in my area. try that it might work.. its in the normal settings app under networks enable all roaming. never had any extra charges. att covers the nation and doesnt count local roaming.
BUT i agree with this guy if my suggestion doesnt work

I constantly get stuck in 3g and when I update the PRL, my signal will switch to LTE and work fine for a while. Is this common or do I have a defective phone? I went to the Samsung reps @ Best Buy and all he did was reinstall an update.

I would check which APN your phone goes to on the phone, Settings -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks -> click either Access Pint Names (to check which APN selected) or click Network Type (make sure automatic or CDMA/LTE, not just 3G).
Its set to CMDA/LTE and the APN is APN2 LTE (n.ispsn) internet. There are no other APNs.

Ok after some troubleshooting, it has nothing to do with the PRL. I can put the phone in and out of airplane mode and it will aquire LTE. Is this happening to anyone else or should I take my phone back for repair?

There's no way to repair it. I've had this issue since I bought the S5 at launch. This is just how it is until the towers are completely upgraded. Calling Sprint gets you no where most of the time about this issue. They will say the phone is defective but you can find many many ppl having this issue.

I know that it's not a real solution, but I found an app, LTE Discovery, that does this in the background. So far I have not seen 3g on my phone.

I had to pay $1.99 for full access, but there is an option to only cycle when on 3g. It does it all in the background, and doesn't really drain the battery. My only complaint is that it stays active and cycling while on wi-fi in a non LTE area. I've only had that in one place in KC, but no wireless service works at that location.
On 4G LTE, PRL's update automatically each time they connect to a tower. I think only 3G and earlier did you have to manually update PRL's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's right. So technically, just cycling through airplane mode would update your PRL
my S5 won't receive calls or text
My S5 won't receive calls or texts. I spent hours with Sprint on the line, they were sending updates, having me manually program it and nothing. They would call my cell and straight to VM. They would send text, and i wouldnt get them.
I'm having to send it back, I'm not sure I will get another S5. I'm thinking a phone should be able to receive/make actual calls.

You are probably in an area that is in the partial stages of a Spark Upgrade. If you disable LTE bands 41 and 26 but leave LTE band 25 enabled, you will have stable data.
