Hi there,
in the last years I realized that the stock alarm clock from Android wasn't very reliable. Sometimes it doesn't ring, sometimes it doesn't vibrate and so on. So I tested very much alarm clocks from the market and found finally one which fits my needs: Alarm Klock - simple reliable and nothing else.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.angrydoughnuts.android.alarmclock
I use this app since 2 years now, it never let me down, but it's interface is really outdated I must admit, so I modded this app to almost Holo design. Maybe there is one of you who likes this simple but powerful app. Just install as a normal apk.
Features:
- mp3 and internal ringtones
- increasing alarm volume
- repeating days
- reliable!
Enjoy! All props go to the original author Craig!
Thank you shaftenberg,
will give it a try. What does on the second picture mean "Bis einer geht". I am a German too but I am not sure if I understand. Do you mean if there is a rington selected not any longer available on the phone the alarm clock will select the next one in the list?

In this case you should hit the Thanks button. OK, I was confused but let you know, why. A few weeks ago my wife told me that her phone is damaged. The alarm clock does not work anymore. Its a Galaxy W running CM10. She sometimes changes her mp3 collection, so it was a question of time to delete the mp3 that was the ringtone too. In this moment I tought it would be great to have a alarm clock that is doing exactly " Bis einer geht"
So it is funny for me too.
thanks!
best alarm clock now has fantastic design

If you go to this website there is a selection of mp3's recorded by Stephen Fry meant for a talking electronic alarm clock.
http://voco.uk.com/
look in the downloads section.
If anyone knows of a nice program to play them in though, and that would rotate them randomly I would be delighted.
Surur
thx for the link but i would rather a female voice to wake me in the morning

Hey guys
I was just thinking, it would be awesome if A_C Could include a slide to alarm program with s2u2. A_C, if you see this I know your always completely immersed in projects, but I think this would be pretty cool/convenient.
It could work like the regular s2u2 screen, but play any mp3 etc, and have a slider that looks like this:
DISMISS ==========<>=========== SNOOZE
What do you guys think?
there are other alarm tools out there that do the job, but i would definitely use the one integrated with s2u2 if it is ever made.
nice idea. i hope it will be done
the idea with sliding is to make sure that non-human forces cannot unlock your device. A better solution would be buttons that are integrated into S2U

Wait what? How is my slider different from the normal one that it can be slid by accident?
I like it. There have been a number of times where I've accidentally dismissed an alarm by hitting the dismiss button while flailing in my half-sleep... It's easier to dismiss an alarm than to postpone it which is a major fail in my book. The least detrimental option should always be the easiest to implement. Something requiring a more cognizant response would be quite welcome by me.
Personally, I think that to dismiss it should require something a bit more involved... perhaps a double slide or slide one direction then the opposite.
The only question I would have would be how to handle the duration? Just a a length preset in the settings?
While we're at it how about an alarm with the option to slowly increase the volume? Yes, I know a couple other apps have it... I don't really like them.
interesting idea...

It would be nice to have this for alarms and event reminders. I've always wanted a few more options on snoozing reminders! Right now there is a huge gap between 1 hour and 1 day. I wish there were options for 2 hours, 3, and 6 hours. (or whatever..)
My idea is once you hit snooze it will pop up a full screen of options for how long you would like to snooze. If you are too tired to answer it or just don't answer it, it should have a default after x seconds with no answer.
What do you guys think?
I'm not fond of the multiple interaction concept with regard to snoozing... Perhaps for appointment reminders, but not for alarms.
I'm for that. A very nice idea!

Non-Human?
Anyways...the actual iPhone S2U has a keypad lock on it also. You slide it, then the keypad fades in and requires you to put in the passcode
Would be nice if a Alarm cannot be "dismissed" by just one single click.
I have the incredible ability to snooze my alarm without remembering later... got me already into a lot of trouble

Good ideas. As for the increasing alarm can't you just edit a .wav to do that?

What I had intended by that is a system where you could specify that the first time it goes off it plays the sound at a certain level, let's say half volume. Then each time it goes off after a snooze the volume increases 10%.
Good idea i must partly agree.
Maybe you guys can even pull it off using the XDA resources to make this yourself.
Sorry about post number 13#, i like to call it evidence.

Alright, you know, I'm not even sure what was meant by that statement, however you need to settle down and relax. It's a bit late to go back over the thread, but you need to realize that not one of the persons responsible for dragging this thread through the mud was anything better than regular old fashioned users. No mods or admins contributed.
In all honesty, Noonski, did us a big favor. This thread was heading for the trash, he stepped in, moved it somewhere neutral and cleaned it up. He didn't have to, he didn't have to take the time to salvage it.
Attempting to place blame on the administration and foster anti-establishment sentiment is only going to prove an even greater disservice to the rest of us.
Be civil, accept that the moderators and administration do indeed have the final say in this PRIVATE venue and I'm sure you'll be treated fairly. Hell, be nice and polite and perhaps we may just get a venue for the type of discussion we would like to see...
Ok?
I'm new to HTC and I tried to search for other alarm system but cannot find.
I find HTC's alarm is quite useless for people like me who cannot be easily woke up by this short period of ring.
What i want to ask is are we able to use customize ringtone? If so, how?
Or is it possible to make the default ringtone ring all the way without pausing every few seconds?
Try the program G-alarm.
thx, awsome software, btw is it a freeware or trial? I saw the payment and register page, what does it unlock?
Definetely Klaxon 2:
-It's free
-I'ts light
-Integrates in TF3D (optionally replaces classic reminder)
-G-Sensor to turn alarm off
alarm
yes you can change the alarm wav sound;
just copy a .wav file in the windows directory. (you can google a mp3 to wav converter if you want to create a wav file out of an mp3 one)
then on the alarm setting press on the little bell (old version settings) or (Ringtones) it'll bring your wav file among the list of the file you can choose from.
i won't wake up with my watch but trust me i have no problems at all using the td2
i use a ringtone Flute Best from www.Zedge.net there you can find wallpapers rings etc...
cheers
Timothy
thanks very much for klaxon!

Its also limiting to have only 3 alarms. I would expect there is no limit on max no. of alarms since this is basically a computer!

weird thing with Klaxon 2 : if my phone is locked by S2U2, the alarm doesn't sound... other thing : I checked the snooze with G-Sensor (flipping) and it doesn't go automatically to snooze when I flip It, I still have to clic on SNOOZE ... pretty annoying !
Hi,
very strange,G-Sensor snooze works with me.Unfortunately I don't use S2U2, sorry I can't help
Try to make an exception for klaxon with an registry editor under
HKCU\Software\A_C\S2U2\Exceptions
Then restart S2U2 and Klaxon should work with S2U2

It did work for waking up S2U2 but the G-Sensor still didn't work. I spent the 4.99€ and bought the G-Alarm software : it's working perfectly, even with S2U2 enabled and the G-Sensor let me control the snooze and OFF function easily.
Does Klaxon consume memory while inactive, or it leaves a memory footprint only when an alarm is set? The reason I am asking is the following: The app looks really cool, but since I will not need to utilize an alarm from my TD2 frequently, it will be unnecessary to install an app that consumes memory no matter what.

Anyone to answer???
Klaxon 2 uses Windows reminder to store infos about the time the alarm must sound (runs as a service). It is invisible to Task Manager until the alarm sounds or you start it to change settings. I did not notice any increased battery drain since I use it. You can give it a try and see by yourself , don't risk nothing.
OK thanks!
Well, a friend of mine suggested to me to check out G-Alarm, and so I did. I have to admit that it is much prettier than Klaxon, and with many more features. Hence, I decided to stick with G-Alarm from now on...
does any one know how i can change the time firmat from 24 hours to 12 hours.
thanks in advance
in regional settings on Time tab, by secting time style. I see it's avaible for ie. english US region settings, ie. for Polish it's not avaible to change it.
I don't have the option on mine for time style am I missing something.
Since we are talking about the clock here, I have a related question.
Does anyone now hot to use custom ringtones/audio files for the alarm?
I have one i've been using for a couple of years now, but I'm not allowed to choose it in the alarm interface, I can only choose between some preinstalled ones, although I did copy it on the device.
What I've tried so far is moving the audio file to the ,,Rings,, folder in Windows, but that had no effect.
Any suggestions, or third party apps for this?
When you want use your alarm-sound, copy the alarm-sound to Windows or Windows/Rings , but it must be WAV format. Otherwise use another soft, g-alarm, cradle alarm (I use cradle alarm and it's great.)
Is it posible to open G-alarm when i tap the time on the homescreen?
I dont like the built in alarm function, it is by far touch friendly.
I managed to sort things out, fidling with cradle alarm now, thx.
on the alarm issue
i figured this out by accident when i was getting really pissed with the same problem...
so open up your alarm menu, (either click the clock and go to the second panel, or just settings>clocks & alarms)
see the little bell icon above the time... select that and that opens up the menu for alarm sounds... i guess they have done it this way so you can essentially have 3 seperate alarm sounds/settings... but its a round about way to select a "default" by choping it out of the settings sounds menu

Hi,
Can someone tell me how can i increase the number of Alarm Clocks? by default there are three and they are not enough for me.
My device is HTC Leo (HD2).
i wonder if someone knows which registry entries can be modified to add more that the three alarms. there is big room in the screen for more ...
appreciate you replies.
Alarm Clocks
Hi,
my question above now clarified
Alarm Clocks
I have the same question... please help
I'm not sure if you can tweak the existing alarm software, but I've made a little alarm clock/stopwatch/timer app that you can have a bunch of timers on. (It's also more touch friendly than the windows one).
I've attached it if you'd like to try it out.
Justin
Nice work "Turbo4V" ... but your software lacks the function in the HTC's alarm to assign days for each alarm.
i still think that you can modify something in the registry in LEO to have similar functionality of your "Add".
i hope you or anyone else can tell me how to do that ... or ... improve your software to add the selection of days functionality
i want this to. any one know what file in the register? i dont want another app. i just want that on the htc hd2. but i want more then just 3
i want to know as well, i m happy with the existing alarm, all i need is increase the number of the alarms
please help
Any update???
Klaxon alarm clock, i use this one myself.
cant post urls as a new member but a quick google search should find it
I use touch alarm. It´s free and diplays the time in Sense home page.
http://touch-alarm.com/
any news about the subject?
Has nobody seriously found a fix for this problem yet ?
It's a major problem for me, I've had to resort to using my old mobile as an alarm clock!!

Bro you can use G-Alarm
This is Home page

and you can get the full version through some rapidshare search.
