Have been using Samsung HDMI connection for some time to watch TV from overseas using a VPN connection with no major problems.
In last couple of weeks however have had a lot of picture freezing. Ran Speedtest and was getting results of under .5Mb so initially assumed a bad ADSL signal or connection or WiFi problem. Tried playing with my VPN connection but no improvement. Then noticed that just using Tablet screen problem seemed to disappear and was showing download speed of in excess of 3Mb. Because I have been playing about so much using different combinations to analyse the problem have also noticed that sometimes when I plug in HDMI Adapter I also loose my WiFi connection and it says my modem is Out of Range but it finds it again after 1 or 2 scans.
Anyone got any ideas what is causing the problem?????? Even more important how to resolve it.

I just upgraded my router to a wireless one. Firstly, it's connected via ethernet to a PC and it is happily getting internet access.
On my i5500 I get a strong wifi signal. Wifi Analyser shows the signal at max constantly. I can also connect with Gmote and it works just fine.
The problem is that I can't actually access the net at all from the phone.
So basically I know that my phone is talking to the router with no problem. It's just getting out onto the internet.
Does anyone know of a solution?
try logging into your router and change the broadcast channel to something else and test it again. it should be something like a/b/g mode... define a single channel and see if it works.
I had originally thought that was working. It did for the first few minute where I had connection but then it just dropped.
I have noticed that I have some very small bursts where I can connect.
Do you think that trying the different channels may be the solution?
I have the same problem. Have you found a solution?
Still no solution. I went through every channel and every encryption method.
So far I've found that having the channel set on 'Auto' and then disabling encryption seems to give me internet connection through WIFI for at least the initial period but it eventually drops. But that's also not always.
I've also Googled it to death and found nothing. If you do find the solution please post it here and I'll do the same.
Maybe we can help each other.
make sure you entered the right password of wlan.
use a pc to connect the router and in the wlan you'll find the password.
Ok, just to clarify. My phone connects to the Router via WLAN. In fact I can use Gmote to control my PC. So the WLAN connection is great.
The problem is accessing the internet when using that connection.
I had similar problems with a router last year. I resolved the issues by flashing DD-WRT firmware. The manufacturer's firmware was junk.

I had that idea but they don't have firmware for my router yet. I have asked them if they intend to make one.
Any chance the firewall on your phone is blocking your browser from using the Wifi?

I have no firewall on my phone.
Ok I've tried some new stuff and they I've had the longest connectivity so far (which is about half an hour).
First I made sure my Wifi wasn't set to turn off when the screen goes to sleep. Second, according to a forum I read, Netgear recommends channel 7. If that channels doesn't work try 1,3,6,9,11,13.
I then disabled encryption.
Fortunately no one near me uses Wifi at all and I've got the kind of walls that stop the signal from getting outside.
Anyway. It's working so far but I'll monitor and report.
[edit] And I forgot. The router was checking for firmware but it wasn't actually finding so I downloaded it myself. Seems that also made a difference.
Ok. I can confirm after 2 and a half hours my internet connection is stable. I even left half way through and when I came back it connected perfectly.
So as a summary here's what I did:
1) Get latest firmware
2) Change channel to 7
3) Disable encryption
I will change encryption and see if it still works
I'm having some odd issues with my wireless home network on my device. When I'm running a game or a program that goes to full screen it tends to disconnect from the network and switches to the 3G network. For games that require a network connection like Pocket Legends the loss of the wireless network kicks me from the server and I have to reconnect. This issue has nothing to do with being out of range of the router as it happens even when I'm sitting 10 feet away. The moment I close the full screen game or program it re-establishes the connection.
Obviously, I can play these games over the 3G network with little issue. I also tried the internet passthrough which works beautifully for games but the moment I try to access the market it loads incredibly slow, but when I disconnect and just use the wireless the market's snappy again. It's just odd and isn't exactly a life ending issue, but it is annoying.
Does anyone else have a similar issue or any suggestions that might help solve this problem?
I have been noticing a lot of Wi-Fi disconnects while using my tablet and my phone. I keep getting disconnects and overall slower performance even though my internet is 30-D 5-U and i get better results then that with speed test on my computer but my phone speed test is about 12 down and 6 up when connected to Wi-Fi
My problem is this...
I can try to watch youtube through the youtube app and pick a crappy non HD video thats like 30 seconds long and spend 5 minutes waiting for THE AD to load... i Tried using the chrome browser and i get mildly better results... the video actually loads but buffers for 1 to 2 minutes for every 3 seconds of video i am shown.
So i tried to fix this by setting my router channel to 11 seeing as there are about 15 networks in range of me and i started getting better results.
then i had an issues with my computer getting ip conflicts if i turned it on while my phone was on the network since my PC was set to a static IP so i had to set my tablet and phone to a static aswel.
So.. after i did that i stopped getting the conflicts but now when i am playing Clash of Clans i keep getting disconnected... often... im licky if i can keep the game going long enough to do 1 attack without getting disco. (thats about 3 minutes if you never played the game)
so i dont know how to fix these disco's.. i am still getting slow overall performance from sites like youtube and even general internet searches at times. it seems like my router is refreshing or something and forcing my Wi-Fi connections to reconnect. If i have my tablet and my phone next to each other they do NOT lose connection at the same time but randomly. this issues makes no sense to me... i have no other ideas.
And before you suggest the "obvious" ive probably already tried it.
Router Linksys wrt160n
Tablet Asus eeepad TF201
Samsung Note 3 (t mobile)
Fresh install of windows (7 days old and problem was present before reset)
all drivers and firmware up to date
phone tablet and pc are all on static IP
NOTHING else is connected to my network or using my internet except my phone and tablet
i have no viruses / malware
my signal strength is EXCELLENT when i get disco and does not diminish during the disco
bump cause i m still having this issue... seems worse then before even. and its only mobile devices on my network or jst wifi connected devices.
what can i do to fix this
I'm having some issues with wifi, stock 4.1.2 n8010.
The connection isn't dropped, but wifi stalls or stops, particularly in the youtube app. Sometimes its stuck trying to load a video, or gives up with a network error, until I retry several times, or I turn wifi off and back on.
When browsing, its not as apparent, but there are random stalls when loading a webpage.
I've tried with a netgear and a linksys router, with WPA, WPA2, WEP, and unsecured. So far only the unsecured network shows improvement, but I'd rather not leave it like that.
I dont have access to a 5ghz signal to test.
Every other device works fine on both routers.
There was another thread with a similar issue, but it was rather old, and didn't help in this case.
Some suggestions were to turn off wifi power saving mode on similar devices, but I can't find this setting on the n8010 (wifi only)
Anything else that might help solve or troubleshoot this?
First and only bump, still no progress..
Any ideas, or anything really, are welcome
Did you solve this... I have a similar problem with n8000 ? Annoying cos i'm using it as a remote game control for tv box, and it keeps cutting out.
Thanks.

Tab 2 rooted w/cwm CM11 since forever see IMG.
Wifi goes out, have to toggle off/on then it stays on for a while again. Sometimes its on for 30 to 45 mins and sometimes it cuts out after 10 mins.
Could wifi doohicky be worn out?
No battery saver app running, just greenify. Tab has minimal apps running and 2 games, have not added apps for over a year.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Solved/ :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
My issue was not the tablet or OS/firmware, the problem was my WiFi router.
Running a netgear N600 DB WiFi router with multiple devices connected via Ethernet cable and WiFi signal throughout the house, all other devices worked properly with no issues whatsoever when it came to internet access.
Yet tablet kept disconnecting or loosing signal and would have to toggle WiFi off/on to get it started again. Never suspected router because all other devices worked properly with no signal strength loss or degradation.
After monkeying around with tab with no solution I decided to restart router, had nothing to lose, whatever, and as soon as I restarted router issue was gone, turn on WiFi and it stays on until I turn it off, even if tablet is idle for days, I wake it and WiFi connects immediately.
Now the router was having some signal issue with just the tab and nothing else,I also have two other devices connected that are similar in age and technology to this tab and these showed no signal issues whatsoever.
So the moral of the story is, don't discount your router just because everything else is working properly with the router and network.
Now my tab has to see a therapist because I called it "a piece of $#it" and it wasn't even the tabs fault.
