Headphone output too quiet - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Using stock 4.1.2 rooted, ktoonz and stock kernels.... any way to boost the headphone output /preamp? it's way too quiet! should have never sold my ipod.
Yes volume is all the way up, poweramp does help some since it has it's own DSP but it's an output issue. Can anything be edited to increase output?

Yes, it does. I'm using it right now with ktoonz's 4/19 kernel and carbon rom nightly from 4/21..

Try wiping the app data and fixing permissions in recovery.. That may fix it.

seems to help some, poweramp with eq/tone adjusted tends to sound the best although a bit underperforming.
also when i'm playing music it acts like the cord became unplugged and I get the "earphones are now connected" then the volume drops to half, the cable is not bad nor loose so I don't understand why this keeps happening.

so basically the audio output isn't very good and buy another ipod? ok got it

When you plug headphones in the audio is going g to drop because of the safe sound setting. After you plug them in, hit vol + again. If you've already done that and its still ****, try another rom. My phone is loud as hell when I plug something in. Could also be your headphones

There's also ViPER4ANDROID that'll boost you a ton. I use poweramp and I don't raise any gain and its loud as hell

Increase headphone volume

Mods please feel free to move / delete
is there a way to increase the headphone volume? I got to the audio service menu but I don't know which settings to change. I just got a new pair of Bose ae2 and they are extremely quiet. I tried another pair with the same issue. Maybe I'm deaf?
Thanks in advance!

PERFECT! Thanks a bunch!
I want to DECREASE the volume. When I listen to music and set it to the lowest setting, it's still too loud. Is there a way to do that?

THANKS! This is just what I needed to break in my new noise cancelling headphones!
I can't seem to find audioboost in the market?
I'm running congnition 2.3b8, does this have something to do with this issue?
There is an app called audio boost that works great. Its a paid app but almost doubled my sound output on my captivate. Well worth it, don't remember how much but worth the price. Your phone must be rooted on froyo or stock rooted or unrooted on 2.1

I can't find Audio in the Market either. What other options do I have to increase captivate volume.
My volume was much higher with Phoenix Rising ROM but not with Andromeda.
Strange nobody's talking about the voodoo control app.....u do need a voodoo or speedmod kernel for it.......voodoo has the option of increasing or decreasing the headphone gain....works like a charm!
I have problems with the sound when set on tv out mode. its gets quietier. Anyone know how to increase volume on the tv out mode?
You could click the thread in my signature and use the galaxy tuner app to adjust it louder or quieter, problem solved. It is also in the market for download. This works for the headphones and the phone speaker. This works with any kernel also.

Turn the Volume up / hack? S 4G

best method to turn the volume up?? i'm missing calls left and right! thanks.
I'm running stock ROM with netnarchy cfs kernel
Voodoo control. But you gotta run the netarchy kernal to use the free app. The paid one says you dont have to run a custom kernal that support voodoo, but i dont know if that works on the nexus 4g

You could try volume+ (sound boost) on the market. I haven't used it myself so can't confirm if it will work on the NS.

volume + is decent enough to not miss calls frequently. it could be better though. I'm majorly disappointed with the volume issuer

I thought it did. It has option that seems like it would. Since installing it it seems like its louder Anabolic haven't messed with the volume and its other set on halfway on my device.

I think they may have kept it down on the Nexus S 4G because I read countless complaints of people blowing their speaker out on the Epic. Some even opening the phone and replacing the speaker themselves.

[Q] Phone call issues!

I can't get my phone to let the others hear me unless i put it on speakerphone first, and then turn the speaker phone off! I am having this issue in so Two of the Roms that i wanted to keep using........Octane 2.x and Valhalla!!

The that worked before i flashed to either Valhalla or Octane was Black Ice Voodoo from Krylon360
here is all i could find
http://androidforums.com/incredible...people-cant-hear-me-without-speakerphone.html
so what this states is that some have success with factory reset, and/or clearing the caches several times. or it could be an app, try simply simple rom.
could be an app, some say problem with head phone jack and suggest to clean "There was an issue with the headphone jack. Take a set of headphones (ear buds) and dip the plug into some alcohol. Slide the plug in and out of the jack several times. Wipe the plug and repeat."
'This happens to me when i unplug the headphones without exiting music player remix first. To fix, I restart the musicplayer, plug them in, exit the program, unplug.
The thread "stuck in headset mode" talks about the other variations of the problem."
or an app, like voice recorder is set on it to automatically turn on speaker phone.
so if still having problems after all this then its a hw problem, so fix go to t-mobile or put speaker phone on all the time by using voice recorder app. you have to look into how to do that. i hope i help some what.

Notifications through Headphones

I really hate that when i have headphones in, or speakers, the phone still makes the sound for a notification.
I found this tasker script that SHOULD do it, but i can't get it to work.
Anybody smarter than me wanna help me get it to work?

Try putting the phone on vibrate lol
If you have a kernel that supports Voodoo Sound, what you can do is install the Voodoo Sound app and enable the "Don't interrupt music" setting. That setting puts your phone on silent whenever you have headphones plugged in. Super convenient

i dont care about the music. here is what i want:
i want to have headphones or a speaker in
i want my notification volume one
i want the notification to play through the connected speaker
i dont want the notification to play through the phone speaker
the tasker script is supposed to play a media file like it would a ringtone (recognizing a text and playing the media file through the headphones/speaker), however it does not work.

Nikcu13,
Ok, so it sounds like this might make for a neat libaudio/SGS4GParts hack for this kind of functionality.
File an enhancement bug here.

Dude you are way too demanding for this...the developer (bhund) already told you to open a git hub issue. Also, if it's so simple do it yourself...people here try to help but they aren't your workers. So relax with your demands/screaming in here.

You're right. It is probably something super easy.
But, I am unemployed. I have a wife and daughter, and limited time to even look at my sgs4g.
When I do stuff, I get a bunch done in a little time frame. Probably about 5 hours a week.
The rest of the time, I'm trying to get a job, interviewing, dealing with rejection, taking my daughter to the playground, figuring out how I'm going to pay my bigger bills, etc...
You could always bone up and learn some C and go look at the wm8994 driver and libaudio in the device tree and fix it yourself. I know hampsterblade did it once, and we happily merged his change!

[Q] How do I boost the volume on Nexus S

I have CM10.1 and it seems to me that the volume on the headset is lower then usual. There is a warning if I go past the "safe" point but the safe point isn't very loud at all. Is this a bug? Is there a way around it? Kernel? Mod? Better ROM?
I downloaded Speaker Boost, but when increasing the gain it did the opposite!
