best method to turn the volume up?? i'm missing calls left and right! thanks.
I'm running stock ROM with netnarchy cfs kernel
Voodoo control. But you gotta run the netarchy kernal to use the free app. The paid one says you dont have to run a custom kernal that support voodoo, but i dont know if that works on the nexus 4g

That doesn't turn the volume up.
It only affects headphones.

You could try volume+ (sound boost) on the market. I haven't used it myself so can't confirm if it will work on the NS.

volume + is decent enough to not miss calls frequently. it could be better though. I'm majorly disappointed with the volume issuer

I thought it did. It has option that seems like it would. Since installing it it seems like its louder Anabolic haven't messed with the volume and its other set on halfway on my device.

I could definitely notice a difference with Volume +. I can actually watch a movie now and hear what they are saying. Thanks for the info.

I think they may have kept it down on the Nexus S 4G because I read countless complaints of people blowing their speaker out on the Epic. Some even opening the phone and replacing the speaker themselves.

is there a way to increase the headphone volume? I got to the audio service menu but I don't know which settings to change. I just got a new pair of Bose ae2 and they are extremely quiet. I tried another pair with the same issue. Maybe I'm deaf?
Thanks in advance!

PERFECT! Thanks a bunch!
I want to DECREASE the volume. When I listen to music and set it to the lowest setting, it's still too loud. Is there a way to do that?

THANKS! This is just what I needed to break in my new noise cancelling headphones!
I can't seem to find audioboost in the market?
I'm running congnition 2.3b8, does this have something to do with this issue?
There is an app called audio boost that works great. Its a paid app but almost doubled my sound output on my captivate. Well worth it, don't remember how much but worth the price. Your phone must be rooted on froyo or stock rooted or unrooted on 2.1
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
I can't find Audio in the Market either. What other options do I have to increase captivate volume.
My volume was much higher with Phoenix Rising ROM but not with Andromeda.
Strange nobody's talking about the voodoo control app.....u do need a voodoo or speedmod kernel for it.......voodoo has the option of increasing or decreasing the headphone gain....works like a charm!
I have problems with the sound when set on tv out mode. its gets quietier. Anyone know how to increase volume on the tv out mode?
You could click the thread in my signature and use the galaxy tuner app to adjust it louder or quieter, problem solved. It is also in the market for download. This works for the headphones and the phone speaker. This works with any kernel also.
Running stock 2.3.3. Even with call volume maxed out I can barely hear the person on the other end. I have tried with multiple calls to multiple people and get the same thing.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Anyone experienced something similar?

i have that problem, i tend to use speaker more. hopefully a mod comes soon
I'm running CM7 RC1 with Voodoo kernel, not sure if the Voodoo sound patch has any part in this, but the volume on my phone is quite loud when using Skype. But in a noisy environment, I'd rather use a pair of noise blocking earphone or headset.
Yea i can barely hear the other person as well. I dont know if its just in my head but it almost seems like it started after the 2.3.3 update

During a call turn the volume down and then back up. When you turn it down you won't notice much difference but you will when you turn it up again. It seems that the volume settings thinks it's at max when it isn't and you need to reset it by turning it down.
Hmm ill give that a shot

Could be your service provider too.

Don't think so. The same issue was present with the N1, kernel developers implemented an audio boost feature that really helped this issue out. Hopefully we will see the same for the NS soon enough.
I would LOOOOOVE for an audio boost similar to the N1 to be implemented for the NS.

[Q] volume of the front speakers? Help please
hello all
does anyone know the phonecodes for the nexus s (service mode)? I want to increase the handset (speaker to the ear)!
in the galaxy s, he is **#*#197328640#*# but not work
nexus s CM7 netarchy 1.2.7
sorry for my bad english
does anybody know how to raise the volume of the front speakers?
I'd like to do this also. Default max volume is too low, sometimes hard to hear what people say.
exactly!
It must be possible to increase the volume
with the voodoo kernel only the speakers on the back work
I have the same problems, in call volume is too low :-( and its not the provider because with my Galaxy S the volume is okay.
Phone speaker is quiet but with my bt earpiece I can get it loud enough to hurt my ears.
Sent from my MattedBlues CM7 Nexus S from the XDA Premium app.
i don't know about you guys, but i have no problem hearing the call even in busy ( noisy ) streets environments.
using any of the 3 methods:
normal ear speaker
back speaker
BT headset
on 2.3.3 stock, no mods of any kind
temporarily solution:
During call set volume to min and then to max and then it's OK. After reboot problem is back.

I doubt it unless he jacked his phone using qpst. You do have to be carefull.
I'll have to give this a try when I get home and get a chance to read up on the op from the evo thread.

Volume+ worked for me. You just have to be careful and not set it to loud.
I've got all the software setup and drivers installed. The QPST could see my phone but it kept giving me an error when I click to connect to my phone. O well guess I'll live with the low volume of this phone till another method is found.

not sure if we can even do this as i cannot get my tbolt into DIAG mode.... anybody know what the code is to do this?

The that worked before i flashed to either Valhalla or Octane was Black Ice Voodoo from Krylon360
here is all i could find
http://androidforums.com/incredible...people-cant-hear-me-without-speakerphone.html
so what this states is that some have success with factory reset, and/or clearing the caches several times. or it could be an app, try simply simple rom.
could be an app, some say problem with head phone jack and suggest to clean "There was an issue with the headphone jack. Take a set of headphones (ear buds) and dip the plug into some alcohol. Slide the plug in and out of the jack several times. Wipe the plug and repeat."
'This happens to me when i unplug the headphones without exiting music player remix first. To fix, I restart the musicplayer, plug them in, exit the program, unplug.
The thread "stuck in headset mode" talks about the other variations of the problem."
or an app, like voice recorder is set on it to automatically turn on speaker phone.
so if still having problems after all this then its a hw problem, so fix go to t-mobile or put speaker phone on all the time by using voice recorder app. you have to look into how to do that. i hope i help some what.

Ok, I don't know if you have a voodoo kernel but I fixed mine by unchecking hi-fi recording in the voodoo control app. I guess it's a bug with voodoo on some kernels.
