For a Dev, this would propably the easiest thing ever, but I'm not a Dev...
So how can I take the audio libs (and everything else needed) from one ROM to another? Which files do I need to copy?
Both roms are somewhat MIUI and 2.3.x based. The one I'm trying to port the audio to, has DSP manager, though.
Why? Well, I like this ROM better, but the audio sucks compared to the other one
Thanks!
Copy all the libs with "audio" in "libs" and "libs/hw" folders like libaudioalsa.so or audio_policy.default.so .
Already got it working by copying ALL libs... I'm aware that I have all camera, audio, gpu, ... libs from the other rom now and I'll do it again only copying all libs with "audio" in them. Thanks!

I say that you dont need to be a DEV for doing theese kind of things...its easy and logic operations...sometimes search on google may be good :good:
I've noticed that quite a few times now. It's acctually quite interesting to combine/mod ROM's and make the "ultimate" ROM for yourself.

For anyone wanting to try out the new HTC Amaze camera. Here it is. I've only briefly tested it on Nils' Business Gingersense 3.5 but it should work on any 3.5 ROM. It may also work on 3.0 ROMs but I haven't tried it. I know it does NOT work on pre 3.0 ROMs.
Let me know how it works for you.

EDIT: The attached file isn't really an APK. It's a flashable zip. When I zipped it up I forgot what I was doing and named it wrong. To use it just rename it to a .zip and flash from recovery as normal.
The apk won't install since it is actually a flashable zip file.
The script assumes that system apps are in system which may or may not work on all 3.5 ROM's Symlink should make it work.
The camera works nice with just a slight learning curve. For example, the picture taking function is the trackpad
The video does not work at all. Atleast in my tests.
will try this out later

Sorry.

Almost 40 downloads and only one comment? I guess I can assume that it's working OK for those of you who tried it?

What I noticed is that the camcorder doesn't work and there is a big button looking thing on the right side. Other than that its faster than the other 3.5 cameras

Can't this to work
I'm on the $Prime XL 3D$ ROM V3. Not sure how much this differs from what he has on this ROM already, but I'm always looking to try another camera!
Will this add zero shutter lag? or is that not overcome able with older phones?
Thank you for sharing.
Is the latest recovery required for this? I am still on CM 3.0.8 and just get an error.
Tried this out the other day on newts 3.5 Rom didn't really see any difference.

Hi all,
I have been using CM9 on my sensation for a while now and I like it very much
But I don't really like the camera interface... So here is the MIUI Camera V17 for the sensation which can be used on android 4.0 and you can just install it as an normal application.
I thought you might want to have it as well.
This is not my application and not my work! All the credits go to the MIUI team
Maybe someone can check if there is a newer version available from the current miui roms?
Bugs:
No camcorder function working.
'Can't find camera' error after used the standard one.
Is anybody interested?
I always thought that a lot of people didn't liked the standard cm9 camera...
It's not working on ARHD 6.6.4 after normal install.
Not worked ordroid too

Might have to push it to /system/app and set permissions. I'll give it a go cause the stock ICS camera sucks.
Edit: It works but crashes when trying to switch to video mode.
I think the app might have some problems with sense roms.. maybe because it's a totally different framework..
It should work normally on vanilla ics roms.. like mine
Pushing it and fixing permission might help

Yes that's correct...
Do you know where we can find the miui camera which is beeing used in android 4.0 miui roms?
Well, in an MIUI 4 rom of course. However, no idea. Not much an interest to find it either - I don't care for MIUI.

Don't think you have to install it as an apk! You have to push it through the system

I don't really care about the MIUI roms either.. but I do care about their camera..
Do you know how you can extract a certain apk from a rom?
I have tried to extract the camera application from the new MIUI Pyramid roms... but unfortunately they have been using the framework from sense and therefore is the camera not working on vanilla android
Guys,I want port this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763514. Is there a guide for do this? Thanks in advance!

The OP in that thread says:
4. No ports based on my ROM zip file, manifest.xml will be updated regularly and feel free to compile from source
Start elsewhere, unless you want to learn to compile. Come back with a ROM you're allowed to port and post it here. Then we'll help you
same
trying to port a rom also still working on it
Porting can be easy or hard depending on many factors.
First of all, if the rom type the you are porting (AOSP, Sense, AOKP, CM7/9/10, Touchwiz, Motoblur, etc.) already has similarly typed ROMs for your device your life will be much easier as you will have a base to work with.
The general idea for an easy port is to use the boot.img, keylayout, modules, and many libs from a similar ROM that already exists for your device. Also, the build.prop and updater-script will need edited (updater-script for most, but not all, ROMs).
If you are on an HTC device and you go grab a Touchwiz ROM to port, you're most likely going to have a bad time. Start with something that exists in large quantities for your device. AOSP ROMs are usually a great place to start.

Just installed cm10 but I could not find the camera app. Briefly looked through the 2 official threads but could not find a link. could someone provide guidance? thganks
The camera app is there, under Camera. It is the stock AOSP camera, not the Sense camera, if that is the confusion

dont know whether im blind or retarded, but I really can't find it. I even looked into the rom zip file and into my system/app and I dont see a camera.apk
I don't think there is a camera.apk. The camera is inside gallery.apk.
No camera here.
Camera folder in gallery.
I think we are looking for the actual camera app or apk.
Are you upgrading from CM9 without wiping?
I had to wipe system to get the camera app in CM10 to show up.
The wiping also fixed a few other problems like the ICS voice search was still installed as a system app and taking preference over the fancy JB one.
So many wipes and no go.
Does anyone here have the apk?
Or does anyone here know where to get it?

Look inside the cm10 zip in /system/apps. Should be camera.apk or something similar

@xxquicksh0txx There's no camera.apk at all in cm10 its merged with the gallery.apk.
@c19932 and @xyrxtyx Stop finding the camera.apk you won't find it at all.
Not sure why this thread is being revived, but if you have a missing camera in CM10, how about trying the flashable 4.2 camera zip in the apps forum. It's pretty nice and has some cool new features.

Thanks for the zips. Have just installed on my cm10 based paranoid ROM. It seems to have installed two extra apps to the already existing dspmanager. Can't work out if there is any difference to the music/sound quality from before installing. Am I doing something wrong. How can I test if it's working or not ?

They just boost your DSP manager (which is already there) and collect all the audio specialities from different devices into one.
Basically, your audio output is supposed to have increased in quality and clarity ~and so.
You can just say that your device now has the bragging rights of beats audio, dsp manager, xloud, dolby sound, surround sound and all of the official audio improvement softwares on android
But its up to you to find the difference in audio :good: i just provided the software files

How many threads do you need?
[COMPILATION] Audio MODS
DSP Manager flashable zip
Just make one, and modify it as you change and add things.
That'll stop the clogging of the forums with more or less the exactly the same thing reworded.
Also perhaps you should add a bit of credits as to where you got your original files from.
I'm guessing:
(MOD)Beats Audio(2.3+up)07/31/12
[MOD]Modified DSP Manager with BEATS audio. For CM9, MIUI & AOKP.(6.25.12)
etc.
