That's all what did they say about it so what do u think about a 1st tablet for egypt ?

I think the specs are good, rockchip 3306 is better than OMAP 4430/4460 which is still used in Samsung Galaxy Tabs, however I can see that the speakers are very small and weak (0.25 W only) and it looks like they used a battery size similar to the Kindle Fire (which has only average battery life).
This battery capacity maybe good enough for 7inch screen, but for 10inch, you need to up the capacity especially that the screen + backlight are the single most power draining components of a tablet.
Also, clocking the rockchip at 1.6 GHz will produce a lot of heat and given it is locally produced, I am not sure of their competence in designing for this heat dissipation. This can be improved (and maybe also battery life slightly improved) if we can underclock and undervolt the CPU.
The 1024x7xx resolution is OK i guess for a budget tablet, though I would have wanted at least HD resolution.
Still I think it is a good first tablet and it should help Android penetration in Egypt greatly.
(especially that the good tablets imported from abroad are overpriced greatly - "Tradeline (apple importer) I am looking at you").
For custom ROMs, this CPU already has kernel support (http://cm3066.com/) and Mali 400MP already has support I think.
It should be possible to get JellyBean/AOKP and future ported on this with a moderate amount of patience and effort.

I've recently just ordered a Newman N2, to replace my ageing HTC Sensation XE, and was wondering whether anyone had any experience, views, opinions on this phone? As you can see from the specs below it is quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3. Importantly though it costs a lot less.
The reason I'm posting this on XDA is in hope that some developers will be interested in it and start to develop custom ROMs for this impressive budget alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

It is really fast and has a nice clean interface. A Cyanogenmod rom would make it fly very high...

That would be good. I'd love to see AOKP myself, as I'm currently running that on my HTC Sensation XE. I've tried lots of different ROMs, but I always come back to AOKP.

this phone currently is just a combination of great hardware and crappy medium firmware.
Buggy and unstable firmware which is annoying.
I hope there would be some awesome ppl who will create some better roms.

Totally agree. If someone can create a solid ROM, then this phone will be amazing. Especially when compared to the similarly spec'd Samsung Galaxy S3, which costs a whole lot more.

Catee CT550 unboxing review--5.5inch dual core android smartphone

Now i got the other smartphone from my Chinese partner, it's Catee CT550, This smartphone is not the high-end one for me. But i still would like to have a good test of it. In order to let you know more real feelings about this smartphone and let you purchase right, i will introduce this smartphone from the following parts.
Pros:
5.5 Inch 960* 540 Pixel QHD IPS Screen

In this large-screen smartphone times, many smartphone manufacturers have created more phones with giant screen to attract more attention from the users, and this one is also in large screen. It sports by 5.5inch QHD IPS screen with 960* 540 Pixel screen resolution, although it's not HD or FHD smartphone, it's proper for me to watch videos in nice screen quality. So this is the one feature i should compliment.
MTK6572 Dual Core 1.3Ghz
Dual core smartphone didn't prevail now, but for those who such as elderly people are not used to quad core or octa core smartphone, this one is enough for them to use. So this smartphone has the clear customers' position. And i have tested the speed, it's not so bad, playing games or searching the Internet is good, but if you don't need your smartphone to play large 3D games, this one is so far , so good.
5.0MP Rear Camera
I am the one who like to take pictures by smartphone, not the digital camera, although digital camera has better picture quality and larger storage. But i am really satisfactory to use my phone to take photos, this one has 5mp back camera, which i think it can meet my needs to take pictures.
Support 3G Network, multilanguage, GPS and other practical application
As a good smartphone, the hardware is very important, but also the well-performed apps, now this one can support dual sim card, dual standby, and i can use freely about 3G network. Meanwhile, GPS is also my nice partner to guide the road for me. and i can also set up the mother tongue by this smartphone which can support multi-language.
2200mAh Battery
I use it for watching videos for about 3 hours, the battery has used 40%, i think it makes me feel good. I don't have to charge my phone every 4 hours, because i bought a samsung smartphone, the battery makes me really sad.
Very competitve price
You may be interested in the price, and i tell you it only costs $82.99 from China for free shipping. It has a very sound price for me. So other features seem not to be important now!
Cons:
RAM 512MB and ROM 4GB
This one only has RAM 512MB and ROM 4GB, if it were larger, i would like it more. I really recommend it can update to a larger storage.
0.3MP Front Camera
This one supports 0.3MP front camera, i think it should be improved, if i take pictures myself, it's not so clear.
In all, this one is a dual core smartphone which is full of competition in price and looks. I feel good. How about you?

Memory expendable with SD/Card.
Wish it came in 64GB and had OIS for the camera like the P8MAX. Wish it had LTE capabilities in the USA (don't we all). Wish it had a removeable battery. But, otherwise, I LOVE this device because it has a great 7" display but is still a manageable size. And it has memory expandable with an sdcard. 5mp front camera - niiice. And, of course, a CPU that you certainly don't see on many devices...

The battery was the #1 reason I bought this. The #2 reason is the screen size.
Its missing fm tuner as well
Actually, the international version, GEM-702L (and thus probably 701L), comes with in-ear phones with FM-tuner which works perfect!
Exactly. Poor earphones and still its delivered with (with 702L at least)
I was expecting better quality ones (the blue ones huawei branded)

2016 say ta ta, Bye Bye, Adios, Sayonara, Astala vista
This is the worst phone that Samsung made, and to think that they made Samsung s Duos 2 and 3 too (even worse than worse). it's a shame on us as well. it was heavily priced, and we made it the most selling device back in 2012-2013. just because it had an S series title and 5mp camera. nothing else was good about this. (Now I realize it's not even 5mp, check in antutu benchmark)
200 USD You get octa core devices man, even if it was quad core, dual core atleast, we would have survived, for another year.
2016 is "The End" for this.
We are only using this mobile, to take out with us, so that if it get lost, we don't feel bad about it that much.
We are keeping this mobile, to get rid of our wives and bosses cause the battery drains faster in call than they come to their point where you can't take any of them with you, the battery dies. :good:
People are selling this online as low as 30 USD, in exchange, it's even worse, they are giving 20 USD.
change the subject to farewell s duos, will you. that would be much appropriate.
Thank you

BMW UI and some HU tips e46

Hi,
I've had a 9" 1GB ram Erisin head unit for 2 years now, and I love everything except the fact that its pretty slow and the sensor's response is quite poor. With Malaysk and microG it's usable but still choppy. I decided to stick with my e46 for the time being, got the iBus and decided it's worthwhile to upgrade now and make a proper multimedia system, install parking sensors etc. Back when I bought it there was hardly any discussion, but now that the community has grown I'd appreciate a few tips, since I am having some trouble making a choice.
1. I want to go for 4gb Octa-Core PX5, and I see that XTrons units are noticeably more expensive. Is XTrons build quality any different/worth the premium/have unique features? My car sometimes sits at -30 C outside in the winter so better build quality could be worth the investment even though my current HU is still working fine.
2. Has enyone ever had this BMW UI(video)? I never cared much for stock launchers, but this look nice with its animations and apps. I'm having trouble building a homescreen that looks like a car UI as opposed to my phone's home screen. I've browsed through some stock launcher threads and couldn't find this one. FCC launcher is looking promising but I dont think it's there yet. Or is it just an illusion? It is only available on Quad core 2GB units, so the question is - is it worth the downgrade and are the Octa-Core 4GB units a usable improvement to 2GBs or is 2 GB enough? For example, is there a chance to run into overheating issues on 2GB or 4GB(if connecting DVR)? Or just maybe someone knows how to obtain this launcher?
3. Have any e46 owners had any experience with these units? I thought we always had two options, the smaller stock-like screen with physical buttons, and the 9" unit with touch buttons which aren't as good but the unit is just so much more fresh. Now I found this third option which looks cool but again, is it worth a downgrade to 2GB ram Quad-Core and do you think it is worth the risk? It's a strange one because there are only a few sellers and some charge ~300 eur while others charge over 500 for the same unit like here.
I would appreciate a bit of help to decide.
Has anyone tried this universal 2 din unit large screen unit?
mine is a 4Gb Octacore PX5 on my E46 (xtrons) 9"
it's fast most of the time.
Mine with camera.
choose with a good cortex
A53 it's the minimum
A35>A7>A53>A55>A9>A72>A76
Soc A7 or A35 device are crap
but if I replace mine, i will choose the best, most powerfull this time :
PX6 Soc :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/9-1-...277.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.28aa2e0egffLqu
Dual core A72 + 4 Cortex A53
I put the AVIN Avant-4 in my E53 and have been pretty happy with it. It looks more like the BMW factory navigation system then the others. It is PX5 octacore Cortex A53 4GB RAM 32 GB storage and running Android Pie 9.0. There will always be some issues with the Chinese headunits but so far mine has been very little trouble.
$399 right now.
