Screen replacement. - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey guys. Instead of getting an s3 or nexus my dad decided to get me a stupid iPhone. I hate it so much. Just wondering if this is the right screen replacement for my phone or if this is for the int one x. Thanks and I miss my screen size and roms so please help

This would indeed be for a one x. It is a good phone. I still have one.

That looks legit. I got both my screens from repair universe and they worked well. Tips:
Use a guitar pick for prying, those tools suck that they send.
Be careful on the bottom while prying apart small piece of board can snap.
Transferring the light diodes from the captivate buttons is a pain have some small needle nose handy.
Have a soldering iron, super glue handy and heat gun or even a hair dryer to keep plastic warm. Cold= snap
If you need any further assistance? Happy to assist.

Do you guys ever get sand or debris in the earpiece?

How do you get it out?
I get a piece or two of dust or debris every two weeks or so. It looks bad and it's hard to get out.

Honestly, I'm amazed that you did this. Those micro drilled holes are insanely small.
I wish I knew what to say to help. Maybe turn it with the grille facing down and using compressed air on one side to force it out?

Fiddling around with some stuff I was able to get it out with play doh. a needle works too if you're careful!

That was another Idea I had. Or silly putty.
..Needle? Scary..
Yep it happened to me. Just took a needle to poke the debris and pulled it out. Did it for each hole to be safe, but be careful with the notification led hole.

Cimo S-Line Back Flexible TPU Case for HTC One X (AT&T) - Clear

Bought thIs last week for my AT&T one x
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007WGFNHU/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
It's actually clear and not grey like the pic. I haven't tried the diztronic, but this one is better than any silicone or soft shell hard case I've ever used. Sides have grips and doesn't stick to my jeans or slacks pockets. It's sturdy and holes line up. Doesn't interfere with my bestskinsever screen protector either.i can set it on a surface upside down and only the case touches. Very thin compared to silicon or hard shell.
Best thing is it doesn't hide the beautiful white one x!!!!
I had the same one and it turned yellow pretty quick, I did really like the case though.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Oops lol. How quick?
I have that case in white. I like the protection it offers but the edges can irritate the palm after holding it for long enough.
its so hard to press the power key with this.. urghh... really liked it though. but pressing the power key is a mission itself
I have the blue one and love it. No color distortion after about a month. The power button is slightly hard to press, the volume rocker is a killer though. Near impossible
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have the black one and have had it since I got the phone on launch day. No issues with it, it's made for the international so not everything is 100% perfect but it's close and never had issues with any cables, etc. No problems pressing power/volume on mine either.
This case changes color quick for some reason..

Mine lasted about a month then the clear started to yellow really bad. I did really like the case other than that however.

I just got the clear case today and I really like it. But is it just me or does it cover the second noise-cancelling mic on the back? Am I mistaken that it's under the power button on the back of the AT&T version?

That is the pin hole to take out the sum tray. The second mic is by the headphone jack

Just got the black one today, and it's pretty good, especially for $2. Must say though, the grip irritates my hand offer a while.

I heard my phone creak every time I put it on or took it off... Scared I might cause a stress fracture, I moved onto to cases made specifically for the AT&T version.
Just a heads up for you guys interested in buying this case.

Had mine since a week from phone release and doing just fine. No color distortion here. Power button a little tough to push but volume rocker is no problems at all. Overall a decent case to keep showing of the white of the phone.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have the clear one and the thing is yellow now. It also seems like the case was made for the international version because the camera cut out and micro USB plug are just slightly off and not centered, either that or its just the quality of the case.

I feel for you the exact way mine broke was falling out of my dress pocket as I reached over in my car. It fell out hit my bottom door jam which broke the fall and it hit the ground maybe 10 inches off and broke! On top of that I ordered the glass and I did not heat it enough when removing and destroyed the digitizer!!! So a very expensive lesson indeed.
Now I did not start this to advertise but I have since replaced over a dozen pieces of glass for friends family and ones I have advertised here locally. I have become very proficient at doing it and I can point you to this thread for help before you try. I would say DO NOT try it until you read that thread through.. It is a bunch of pages so try and pay attention to the posts of advise and help. Quick points. Lots of heat but keep it moving! Use plastic razor blades lest you scratch your digitizer. Heat wedge, heat wedge... Be careful not to damage the bottom ribbon cable or touch screen soft buttons and finally start from the TOP!! NEVER EVER start from the bottom... Get some 2mm 3M double sided tape as well.

If you still do not want to attempt it for fear of breaking it I can do it for you for a very reasonable price. PM me if you are interested and I will give you the details. Currently I have 3 XDA members sending me their phones for glass replacement. :good:
Now on to the petition everyone sign it!!!
Fingers crossed it wont happen to me. I already dropped my phone a couple of times and I fear it's just a matter of time. I think i should invest in a slightly better case for drop protection.

Is your HOXL creaky?

It seems to me that the longer I have this phone the creakier it gets when I press or squeeze it in any way, and I was wondering what other peoples experiences were. I've only had this phone since October, and I'm curious to know if people who have had theirs since launch day are experiencing it even more so than I am
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Had mine since about June. It does not creak at all.
Now that I think about it, weren't there 2 hardware versions for the HOXL, With one of them being slightly better than the other?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
mine creaks
Yes mine is creaky. If I squeeze it or move it creaks. Even typing with the veedback on causes the creaking sound. I bought this phone when it first came out so I was just guessing it was getting old. However my wife's does not and she got hers the same day.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I assume the creaks come from the screen and guts slipping in and out of the shell body?
Perhaps removing the body and using a very very small amount of glue to hold it in place would help?
You dont have the phone inside a case that is itself creaking against the body of the phone?

do you, or have you ever used a case, specifically an otterbox? I think that's what mine is from. Putting the case on and taking it off so many times to remove the SIM
Yeah I've changed cases several times. I have a spec case that you have to pop the hox into. It's kinda embarrassing now. I don't even use a car anymore.

Yeah the speck candy shell takes so much pressure to take on and off I feel like I'm going to snap my phone in half sometimes
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Oh man... So creaky... Especially near the top speaker holes.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Been having mine since launch (may 6) no creaking. I rock mine naked. My wife got hers two weeks later and keeps hers in a barely there case, no creaks
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
My first one started creaking after about 5 months. Then, over the course of two days, the backlight failed. At first, pressure would turn it off and/or on. I was luckily able to do an RUU without the backlight, then return it under warranty.
The refurb I have now was a little creaky from day 1, but has actually gotten better than at first. Also has a terrible loudspeaker... but the replacement speaker I got on eBay was even worse.
I wish I could get an Android phone with Apple build quality and warranty/support.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
No creaks on mine, I think it's because I clean it aggressively at times and apply enough pressure to keep it seated together.
My Desire HD creaked, this is like a brick in comparison.

where are you guys getting creaks? the only place I can think of it possibly creaking is around the edges where the glass meets the back shell. Mine used to creak a little bit in the upper left hand corner, but not anymore now however, my volume rocker has some up and down play
I put a speck candy shell case on a month after I got the phone and have only taken it off a couple times for cleaning. I have no creaking
Sent from my VENOMized HoxL
I got mine July 1st and it was creaky when I bought it, minute gap at the bottom right where the glass meets the body. I didn't feel like returning it. It hasn't got any worse though which is good.

That's exactly where mine creaks the most: on the upper left hand corner where the glass meets the casing. my volume rocker also has some up/down play to it

Just a couple every now and then. But if I shake it, it rattles. On both phones I've had , one I got on May 6 and had until it just straight up died in November, and the one I've had since then.

[Q] broken glass

Hello, well I drop my infuse last week and crack just the glass. A guy I know that works at a cell phone repair store sold me a $10 glass for my phone. Well I've started reading and they say that the glass and LCD are fuse together. Is there away to just repair the glass. I thought maybe taking my hot knife and carefully cutting just around the edge and then take a long thin boxcutter ( I've got one as long as the phone and it really thin) and heating up the blade and very carefully slide down while my girlfriend runs a hair blower up and down the screen.
I thought I take the blade and my hot gluegun and make some grips on the sides of the razor blade so I don't cut my hand. What do you guys think of this.
If you know of someone that has done it and can give me there names so I can PM them that be great. One thing thought I don't wont to mess the phone up. This is all I have until the SG4 comes out in the states. Which should be in a few days but I've got to wait until after the 3rd to be able to pay for it. Thanks for reading this.
By the way, could they do it at a cellphone store or would they also need to buy the LCD digitizer to fix it.
Google is your friend in this matter. There are several good sites and YouTube videos related to replacing a screen readily available online. Best of luck in replacing it
Sent from my Carbon-ized Infuse
If you just cracked the glass and see no bleeding from the LCD you can just replace the glass but its a pain in the ass separating it from the LCD without cracking it. My suggestion is to use a really hot blow dryer or a heat gun preferably..separate them, then you'll have to re-adhere the new glass to the LCD. If you have super glue you can use it but use very very little or you'll ruin the screen. I would recommend buying an infuse specific glass replacement adhesive sticker thing on eBay. They're less than 5 bucks  if you need any help feel free to pm me.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
What about using a real thin guitar string. You think that might be better to use since the string will give a little and with the razor it might nic the LCD. What do you guys think.
