Just so that everyone is aware, Xtremeguard.com is selling S4 screen protectors really cheap right now, 60% off in fact. If you want a good day one protection, check them out.
I've used them before on my nexus 10, the protector has a very slight orange peel look to it, but it isn't terrible, and for such a large screen, it doesn't show up much at all. Worth the protection, and less orange peel than ZAGG... Be sure to use the 60off coupon for 60% off your order! $3.50 for a full body protection.

Here is a picture of it, go to xtremeguard.com, on this page there are three options to order. Back only, Full Body [Add $5.00], and Front only. Just click on the full body option and it'll add it to the cart.
The price is right on these, but the protector is sticky and they stretch when you are installing them.
Bought two cases, one screen protector and one full body protection for $12.37, amazing in my opinion, not sure about the quality of the cases though.

To keep the protector from stretching, be sure to use a rubber squeegee and put a little soapy water on it. It'll glide right over the top of the protector and not stretch it at all.

Are these the static cling type of screen protectors?
Nope, they are the peal and stick type. The plastic is a bit thicker so they are not as flimsy and are easy to apply. Best I have ever used. The one I put on my g1 is still on there.

Wow... I bought my Phantom Skinz, which is a 2 pack for $5.97 shipped with their discount. In fairness though, I have used and really like the Seidio protector. You can wait, as they often have discount codes and free shipping... the product is worth the money though... it will last quite a while and has a great feel.
i got a quote of $9.23 USD i recall for shipping to canada so cost of the protector and shipping and US to CAD = close to $20.00
I can garantie if i ordered and recieved the item the postage paid on the package/envelope would be no more than $2.50

I ordered one over the weekend for 13.85 shipped. I'll be sure to review it once it comes in. Also, I can't stand wet-application screen protectors, so I'll see how this fares.
I can't take worrying about scratching my screen anymore so I finally took the plunge. I ordered the 2 pack for a whopping $20.67 shipped. I'll let everyone know how good they really are once I apply one to my screen.
umm, not to be mean. any reason why you need a screen protector when the screen itself on the nexus one is scratch resistance?

Anyone know a code for seidio?
My order shipped today!
Your order has shipped. (Order#: XXXXXX placed on 1/16/2010)
i just got my 2 pack in the mail today and failed to apply both of them and got dust/lint stuck on the adhesive side. talked to seidos online customer service and they're sending me another 2 pack as a one time courtesy! hopefully i dont mess thsoe up.
The hardest part in installing the Seidio is getting every minute particle of dust off the screen first. I don't know about you guys, but this seems to me to be the biggest dust magnet of any phone I've ever had! I wipe it with microfiber, and within 2 seconds, there's more ultra fine dust on the screen.
Anyway, once you get it clean, hold the protector buy the little tab extension that they should have included on the backing strip... gently start peeling the backing paper off the opposing side and just expose one edge of the protector. Then start "rolling" it on as you slowly pull the backing paper off. Should come out perfect as long as it's cut properly.
By the way, how well IS this product cut? Is it short in width and/or height like the other screen protectors seem to be?
Well, I received my XO skin screen protector today that I bought with my 55% off coupon code. But it turns out, they actually sent me the screen protector AND back protector, for the same price of $6. This happen to anyone else? But yeah. Loving it so far. Haven't turned on my phone yet, I did cringe a bit at the amount of application fluid entering the speakers. Hope everything is okay So far, I haven't noticed any orange peel texture on the protectors. They don't have too much friction, so it's not like you're sliding your finger across a piece of rubber. It does repel fingerprints like they claim they do. I think the screen protector IS worth the normal price of $12. So yeah, I give it a big thumbs up.

I got mine too. It's VERY good quality to my surprise. I also bought the XtremeGuards ones and XO is much better in quality. It doesn't have the "orange peel" effect and just feels smoother as your swipe across the screen.
Anyways, you'll love it and good luck!

I got the full body one and its..... full body lol... jkjk so for the front it covers 99% the whole front glass, and for the back it have some gaps between the camera and the protector, and the speaker and camera. For the case fit I heard that it's smaller in size to leave space for say like bumpers or cases
Just got a front cover in the mail, waiting to see if I can live with the buzzing before I apply it.
Applied mine in the bathroom last night (heard steam from a shower helps prevent dust?).
How long should I leave it? Been about 12 hours now. As the OP said, the only concern is the amount of fluid you get in the speaker.
The fit was perfect, measured right down to the mm. I might due to human error be a tiny bit off, but it's lined up as well as I'll probably get it without being obsessive.
I ordered the full body one before the Nexus 4 was released.. Love the product except my back piece doesnt have the speaker cut out. Contacted them twice and have been told that there should be 2 on my at no cost but we will see
You really don't have to leave the phone off for long. Just really light use for a day to not let it heat unevenly

I just applied mine and left it for an hour. Then I turned my phone on to check my speaker. They're perfectly fine But yeah, I only left it off for 1 hour, and it was already solid on it. But it was probably still drying a bit more.
Mines has dried with some streaks. Best way to describe are thin say 0.5cm horizontal lines, which reflect colours in certain light. Instructions say streaks should go away in 24-48 hours, its been over 24 and they're not budging yet.

What actual options do we have here in the UK?
(most interested in full body)

I ordered the same.
Pros:
* It fits perfectly fine.
* Looks sturdy.
* Application was easy.
Cons:
* Not smooth for sure. rubbery feel is reducing the feel f the phone.
* Back glass doen't look as glorious as it could be.
* Considering the cost they could send a spray to make the application process easier.
I hope its helpful.

Guys I wonder if you can help, I need a protector that covers the whole screen, the two ive tried are approximately 5mm to narrow (same as the factory fitted protector) I take it the reason being its because of the curved screen, the protector would lift, if cut to the edge.
Does anyone know of such a protector that allows for the edge curve and fits perfectly?
Thanks

I'm wondering about that too, so far the screen protectors I've seen don't cater towards the rounded edges of the screen. Instead the tend to leave a blunt cut just before the screen curves.
I personally don't like those either. I was looking at Martin Fields protector as I had one on my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 7 and both worked fine. I am worried about the protector lifting though
I have read through tons of the threads regarding the screen protector for the Note 8.0, and I haven't found one yet that meets what I want:
1). Oil resistant: the naked screen is REALLY good is resisting oil from my hands.
2). Won't scratch due to stylus use: I bought the Note for the Stylus and I use it extensively. Some screen protector I read got scratched with the stylus.
So if you have a screen protector, can you tell me your experiences?
This is what I learnt so far:
No plan to make one for Note 8.0
SGP Steinhell
XGear
Have bad oil resistant capability
iSmooth: more oil accumulate on the screen?

Know what you mean. I shy away from buying directly from China whenever possible mainly due to the incredibly slow delivery times. I took a chance on this and while I've not gotten it yet the communication from the seller has been pretty good! I inquired why the tracking wasn't showing and he investigated and replied twice in 24 hours. (Granted I "did mention" I was awaiting the item for an XDA review....)
Using a credit card usually protects one but the long delivery wait can be extremely annoying.
I had never ordered from them before and as it says in my thread, I was slightly concerned, but it came quicker than stated and is a really good product, no problems with the seller or the protector at all.

Not sure if you ever got your answer from them but it does list Oleo phobic coating in the item description
Tempered Glass provides your device with the best surface protection without sacrificing the responsiveness of touchscreen. Despite its slim 0.4 mm glass base thickness, this transparent tempered glass is nearly impossible to scratch or penetrate thanks to its rating of 8-9H hardness, while its oleophobic coating offers resistance against smudges and fingerprints.

I think it was a price mistake from Amazon. I also thought it was a fake one sold by a reseller, so I checked the "My Order" page in Amazon and it shows $8 and "Sold by Amazon".
I'll update when I received the item today.
I got the Green Onion Oleophobic screen today (the $8 one) and I can tell you it is a GREAT screen protector.
It's quite easy to install and it comes with a LARGE dust cleaner screen to help with the installation. Aligning this big screen protector is a b*tch though. I still got a small bubble on the right side, but it's not evident since my Note 8.0 is white.
The screen protector feel very solid and smooth. It has the coating, as you can feel it when you run your finger on it. I like it more because writing with my stylus feel better and not too smooth, just enough for me.
I highly recommend this, though you may want to wait for the price to come down to $8.
UPDATE: This thing is a dust magnet!
Just stumbled upon this on eBay from a US Seller. Quite probably would have sprung for this instead of playing the waiting game to receive virtually the same product from mainland China. It's also listed about 8 bucks cheaper.
A real viable alternative IMHO.
Anyone noticed that the Note 8 comes with a preinstalled screen protector?!
I just noticed when I was peeling off all the tiny protection plastics like on the home button and camera lens that there was also something on the screen just to find out it was a screen protector
Nice!

Got mine from Amazon. No problems with the S-Pen and it's clear as glass I see no reason at this point to tell you not to pull the trigger.

Three posts up. Links to same product from both eBay and Amazon. :good:
What screen protectors are people using? I had a Savvies screen protector, cost around £5, which started lifting from the top within a week. I kept sticking it back down but it then looked horrible. So I traded up and replaced it with a Skinomi - I have one of these on my phone and love it. Put it on on Saturday, left it until Sunday night before using it. Perfect. Then this morning when I wake up...
Aaaargh!
Anyone had success with screen protectors staying on for a decent length of time? If so, what's good?
No-one has a screen protector they would recommend, that has stayed on for an extended period?

These I bought some time ago are very good, the quality is the same of the best smartphone screen protectors, cristal clear, good scratch resistance, apparently German product:

And they stay on? That's the main problem for me...

Good thickness and adhesiveness.
i purchased the illumishield off of newegg since it comes with lifetime replacements.
it comes 3 to a pack and i used the same one for about 6 weeks. only reason i had to switch it out was because i learned that big dogs nails can scratch the film when playing aggressively with them. lol
it never lifted on me while i had it so that was good. one thing i did notice was if you apply it the way they want you to, it wont fit top to bottom. rotate it 90 degrees and it fits good but leaves a small gap on top and bottom. not really that noticeable unless youre OCD like that.

hope this helps. :good:

Thanks, I'll try them if the latest effort fails.
Skinomi told me to wash the old protector and try again, but stayed grubby even after washing, so that's not going to work...

Thanks! I've just bought it! I don't have my smartwatch yet but I expect it for Christmas as a gift, so I'll be ready with my screen protector!

By the way, you can go to almost any typography and they'll cut you some protectors after scanning your smartwatch and tracing the edges for almost no price. The quality of film will probably be worse, but cmon, you will save like 95%.
I bought this off ebay australia: "Crystal Clear Screen Protector for Sony SW2 Android Bluetooth SmartWatch 2" (I can't post external links yet sorry)
Just as well too as I was in the shed the other day and "scratched" it. Now I can just peel it off and put another on!
I buy the Zagg shields for the 10” tablets, you can always find one on sale for about $9.00. Cut a piece 1.5" x 1.5" and round the corners. Now you have enough left over for a phone or a small tablet.
