Evecase - Note 8 leather book style case... - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Accessories

I have had numerous tablets, including many from Samsung. I used to like everything OEM, but I experienced a drop once & the $40.00 Samsung OEM book case provided little protection & the device was damaged slightly. For $40 a case should offer some protection to my device. Since then I have always used leather cases purchased on Amazon.
For the Note 8, which I recieved a day or so before release, the case picking were slim. I found the one that had the most features from previous cases I enjoyed, which included selections from Moko, Poetic (which I really like) & tons of others.
In this instance, the case that met the most of my requirements was the Evecase. The Eve case is a textured leather (PU) case that has the auto-wake/sleep feature, multiple viewing angles in both portrait & landscape (which means it rotates) & I like to be able to remove the device easily, which this case accomplishes with a removable insert, which is held in place by a snap, which I have come to like more than the velcro removable types. I paid just under $5.00 for the case, which is now $5.99 USD on Amazon & I was surprise by just how nice the case is. While I am not a fan of the textured leather, i prefer smooth leather, this case is easily worth the $20 or more you would pay for the Poetic or Moko cases.
The case has cutouts in all of the obvious places, holes in the bottom on each side where the speakers are located & you can pretty easily access the SD Card slot & S-Pen, although there is a stylus loop for those that prefer having the S-Pen a few micro-seconds closer to use. It also has an elastic strap to hold the cover securely shut, which is great for S-Pen devices as magnet tend to interfere with the S-Pen's accuracy.
I have attached numerous pics, both from Amazon & a few I took to show details not seen in the Amazon pics.
Of all the Note 8 cases I have seen so far, I would recommend the Evecase over the rest. It is an exceptional value & protects the case well.

Did you buy the book case separately or did it come in the box of your Note 8?

UAG has released there cases for the Galaxy S5, there cases are designed to be very protective while maintaining a slim profile. The UAG cases were considered to be the best cases released for the S4/S3/Note3 as they provided as much drop protection as an Otterbox Commuter while being thinner and lighter.

This is what I plan on getting. I have a couple of friends that have them for the Note 3 and S4 and they absolutely love them. They don't really add much bulk to the phones.
Anyone else with this case? Does it add a lot of bulk? What about the grip, it improves? Does it make the phone comfortable to hold? I heard reports of cases like the neo hybrid making the phone to large and a bit uncomfortable.
Im considering getting this in ice/clear version and i didn't really liked this style of cases before but they are starting to grow on me and seem to offer protection. After shipping it comes up to 32$, which is a bit to much for what i want to pay for a case but if offers good protection i might get it.
I've been using UAG cases for a couple of years, and can honestly say that it is my favorite case. My daily carry on my S5 is a black UAG with a Samsung extended battery (3500 mAh) and a modified back (area around the battery cut out so the larger battery will fit in the UAG). The only downside to this set up is that I lost the water resistance of the S5 because of the modified back.
For mine from Amazon for $20 shipped.
Does it add a lot of bulk to the phone? A lot of these more protective cases seem to add quite a bit of bulk to the phone but this one from the pictures doesn't seem like it, but those photos can "lie" sometimes. Do you happen to use your with a glass screen protector? I ordered a glass screen protector and i need a case that will fit with it.
The ice and a few other colors are on amazon now for 20$, others are at 30$. The "problem" for me is the shipping that ends up at more than half the price of the case on amazon and the only reason im going with amazon is because i have a gift card balance there to spend.
Does not add much bulk. I am using mine with a glass screen protector and it works out perfectly.
Thanks!
I think im going to get this. I was set on a slim case (ringke slim case) but those don't add much protection and this one seems to be great and i don't hate how it looks and it seems to be great in terms of shockproof

GMYLE(R) PU Leather Magnetic Protective Flip Folio

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IM81HMW
I've been trying on the various cases I bought for the S5 so here's the quick take on the Gmyle Folio case. I wanted a wallet style case for traveling light that would hold a card or two. It had to be bright enough to stand out but not too gaudy. For those reasons I chose this Black and Wasabi Green one.
Other colors combos are available. Navy Blue and Brown, Silver Gray and Red, Mint Green & Pink. There are options for the S4 and S5 so don't mistakenly get the wrong one like I almost did.
Material is a textured plastic, flexible and soft to the touch but not sticky. Cutouts line up well and buttons are accessible. Finish is decent with no loose threads or exposed edges. Magnetic flap is strong and case closes easily. The case is slightly larger than the phone on the open edges so some drop protection is expected.
Without cards it is 1.5 cm (5/8") thick. It is blacker than the photos show, but reflective as well.

The phone holder is TPU and it is easy to insert and remove the phone. Interior is a very bright green, pretty much neon; a little brighter than I expected but not over the top since it is largely out of sight.
It has 2 card slots, enough for my ID and a credit card; while still closing well with little added thickness. Behind the cards is a wider slot for cash or whatever.
Overall I am happy with this case, it should fit easily in the pocket of my surf shorts for trips to the beach, or into a front pocket of jeans for a night out. If it falls apart I will let you know.
GMYLE FOLIO CASE This color combo was $6 shipped to the US in 7 days.
Edit: Sorry about the dirty mouse pad in the pics... didn't notice it.
Ringke Delight has a twin?
This appears to be identical to the Ringke Delight which I bought on Amazon. If so you got a bargain.

Melkco Premium Leather Case - Wallet Book Type

Melkco Premium Leather Case - Wallet Book Type, this is my first leather mobile case in my life, and i am going to write a review for this case.
After using it I am very satisfy with the case quality and functions. It has a multiple card slots design which is a useful function for me as i can bring one case to work instead of bring both of wallet and phone. This particular case includes totally hands work and Italian leather which is really provides a premium looks and a good quality of touch.
I have been using this mobile case for a month. It is not much difference with the new one but the color of leather is slightly turned to black(maybe is caused by my sweaty hand). However, I am definitely impressed using this mobile leather case because this case is really provide a good touch feel, very good to hold while I typing massages or playing games, not slippery at all, I think this is because of the premium leather. For the protection is normal level but still acceptable. I have dropped my S6 from office table once, and no damages found on my device(luckily). S6 is fully covered by the case and the front and back side’s leather will be slightly softer to reduce some impact force. I love my phone and I am not trying to throw it from the rooftop:angel:, so I think it is enough for my daily use.
At last, I will recommend this Melkco Premium Leather Case:good:.

Melkco Premium Leather Case - My Review
Disclosure: I received this free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
I really wanted to like this, but I can't say that I do. It just doesn't feel like a quality item.
Pros - I am not a judge of leather, but that part feels like good quality. The appearance is nice, I certainly wouldn't be embarrassed to take out my phone in this case at a business meeting. It fits nicely into a men's breast suit pocket. For many people, looks are the most important aspect and if that is the case for you, you'll like this. The buttons (power, volume) are easily accessible and the speaker is not blocked.
Cons - The phone is held in place by hard plastic (see photos) and if feels like this will break if take your phone out and put it back in a few times. I might be wrong about that, just based on feel. The case offers no protection in terms of padding, which is important to me as a business traveler. The wallet part will hold two credit cards easily, three felt like a squeeze. Cash needs to be folded, but is a good place to stash some emergency money.
It just doesn't feel like a good quality product, not worth the price being charged.

[REVIEW] Artech21 Leather Folio Case

I am particular about both my wallets and my cases, so combining the two means an extra degree of pickiness. I also tend toward folio cases, so if that's not your thing, you aren't going to like this one, as it is very much intended for someone who wants to carry everything in one case.
The Artech21 case is a large full-size folio case with all the bells and whistles. It is solidly constructed from thick, high-quality leather and other materials.

The interior is lined with what appears to be nylon fabric. There is a TPU case to hold the phone in place.
The wallet section is capable of holding 5-7 IDs and credit cards while still allowing room for some cash and other stuff in the slot behind it.
Even with all that stuff inside, it still closes securely. The snap is held in place by a magnet. It's not an especially strong magnet, but it seems strong enough.
The snap does block access to the power button when closed.
Access to power and headphone jack is unobstructed. The case comes with a wrist strap that I did not attach, but it's easy to do so if you like such things.
After a few days with this case, I am definitely liking it. The leather is very nice, and it looks and feels much better than a cheap TPU "leather" case. If you can deal with the size of it, it's easy to use.
The back behind the phone case folds to create a stand, but I had trouble getting it to stay put. This isn't an issue for me since I don't stand my phones up like that, but might be to you. [Edit: I just realized I was doing it wrong. Nevermind.]
If you're looking for a high-quality leather folio case, this is definitely worth considering. I have to say it's nice to see a manufacturer making stuff like this for phones beyond the iPhone and Galaxy Sx.
I received a discounted sample from the manufacturer in exchange for a review.
Thanks for the review.
I've always wanted this kind of case but there has always been one factor holding me back. If i used it as my wallet as well as phone case, i'd be very worried about losing it or it being stolen. To lose one or the other is one thing .. but to lose them both in one go would cripple me ><
nice review

Phone skins are really great to add style to any phone, plus they’re not expensive, but they provide minimal protection if you happen to drop your phone. On the other end of the spectrum are cases, which are generally more expensive but offer much more protection. Cases are bulky and they don’t let the beauty of your phone show through because they often have to cover all four edges as well as the back of the phone.

That’s where CrashGuard by RhinoShield comes in. CrashGuard is essentially a bumper case, which means that it does not cover the back of your phone but only the sides (thus giving your device a more “naked” feel), but because of how it’s engineered, it provides more protection than most cases. CrashGuard is far superior to the bumpers of the past because it has been engineered to absorb impact. This is done by utilizing a proprietary polymer material that is far more shock-absorbent than plastic, and it also has a protective honeycomb structure within the bumper to disperse impact properly. In fact, within the honeycombs are compartments of pressurized air that act as airbags and deflect impact energy. If that sounds really elaborate, it is, and the net result is that you can drop your phone from a variety of heights (up to 11 feet) and if you have a CrashGuard bumper on the phone, you’re going to have a completely unmarked phone. If you want to see how incredible this protection is, watch this video from David Pogue where he does everything in his power to smash his phone by dropping it from a tall ladder.
Not only are CrashGuard bumpers durable, but they’re lightweight (with most of their bumpers coming in under 14 grams). They’re also pretty grippy thanks to the matte finish, and they come in a variety of colors. Another thing we really like about the CrashGuard line is the pricing: the Nexus 6P bumper is $19.99, and it ships free on Amazon. Check out the listings for the Nexus 6P.
