UAG has released there cases for the Galaxy S5, there cases are designed to be very protective while maintaining a slim profile. The UAG cases were considered to be the best cases released for the S4/S3/Note3 as they provided as much drop protection as an Otterbox Commuter while being thinner and lighter.

This is what I plan on getting. I have a couple of friends that have them for the Note 3 and S4 and they absolutely love them. They don't really add much bulk to the phones.
Anyone else with this case? Does it add a lot of bulk? What about the grip, it improves? Does it make the phone comfortable to hold? I heard reports of cases like the neo hybrid making the phone to large and a bit uncomfortable.
Im considering getting this in ice/clear version and i didn't really liked this style of cases before but they are starting to grow on me and seem to offer protection. After shipping it comes up to 32$, which is a bit to much for what i want to pay for a case but if offers good protection i might get it.
I've been using UAG cases for a couple of years, and can honestly say that it is my favorite case. My daily carry on my S5 is a black UAG with a Samsung extended battery (3500 mAh) and a modified back (area around the battery cut out so the larger battery will fit in the UAG). The only downside to this set up is that I lost the water resistance of the S5 because of the modified back.
For mine from Amazon for $20 shipped.
Does it add a lot of bulk to the phone? A lot of these more protective cases seem to add quite a bit of bulk to the phone but this one from the pictures doesn't seem like it, but those photos can "lie" sometimes. Do you happen to use your with a glass screen protector? I ordered a glass screen protector and i need a case that will fit with it.
The ice and a few other colors are on amazon now for 20$, others are at 30$. The "problem" for me is the shipping that ends up at more than half the price of the case on amazon and the only reason im going with amazon is because i have a gift card balance there to spend.
Does not add much bulk. I am using mine with a glass screen protector and it works out perfectly.
Thanks!
I think im going to get this. I was set on a slim case (ringke slim case) but those don't add much protection and this one seems to be great and i don't hate how it looks and it seems to be great in terms of shockproof

God, att always gets the ugliest cases for their phones that are marked way up. 40 for an incipio case that looks like garbage? No thanks. If they partnered with uag or siedio they'd sell so much more.
coming from the og one x
Not impressed by any of those and they're probably ridiculously expensive. Thankfully I have a cheap TPU case coming in the mail to hold me over until I get my Spigen Neo Hybrid.

Sprint S4 here. I felt like putting my two cents in. Save your money and get a better case for your $40. Yikes
Those are not anything I would get but hopefully they will have the S-View cover which is something I am interested in.
Check out iskins case! looks soo much better than these! just ordered my self one!! i think they have made the best case so far

i'm waiting for the Incipio Frequency in black. i've seen some of the cheaper TPU cases by Diztronic and Boxwave, but they all have glossy parts even on their Matte TPU cases (High Gloss TPU Frames the Display). i want full Matte. no gloss anywhere. unfortunately, ZooGue won't have theirs out anytime soon. at 10 bucks, they're what i really want but will have to settle for a $25 Incipio sometime next week.
Posted more cases that we received today in OP.

Urban Armor Gear Composite Case
Has anyone tried out the Urban Armor Gear Composite Case? I'm curious about how the call quality and ir blaster are affected by this case.
Thanks,
dahl
I recently got a N4 and immediately looked for a UAG or Speck Candyshell case for it. Unfortunately for me neither case is available for the N4. I was close to getting a Diztronic TPU case, then I saw someone with the Body Glove Nova case. I really like 1-piece hybrid (tpu + hard plastic) style cases like the Candyshell and UAG, so I was super excited when I discovered this case. These cases protect the edges of the phone with TPU and hard plastic (all 4 edges on the Candyshell, 2 sides edges on the UAG). It's not as good looking as the Candyshell and UAG, but it meets my needs just fine. Its available in: white/grey, white/pink, and black/grey. I got a refurbished one (looks brand new, but no packaging) from Amazon for $1.99 + $4.49 shipping. T-Mobile sells it for $35.

I had a Belkin 1-piece hybrid on my old S3 (in addition to a Candyshell)
I wish UAG or Magpul made cases for the N4 They look sick!
Sure looks Neat!
On side note: how are you liking your new n4 vs gs4? I will be a newb to g4 in a couple days lol

each phone has pros and cons. I'll stick with the G4 mainly because of the screen (larger and higher resolution/pixel density). I'm going to give the N4 to my wife to replace her S3.

thanks for the reply. The s4 is nice but the price tag didnt convince me Lol.
Best Case I've used so far. The caseology dual layer.
It gives great protection, just adds a little bulk, case with a good grip.
There's a lot of cool color combination and best of all its just 7.99$.
the Quality is amazing, you can compare it with those 30-40$ case, I highly recommend this case!

Cool! It's close to my Spigen Neo Hybrid but it costs a third of. Now I'm looking for an economic thinner case. I've seen a lot of tpu cases but the only thing I really want is an edge that protect camera glass.:good::good:
Wife has the purple one on her S5. She loves it and the price was spot on :good: I'm a case whore so I think I'm going to try the gold mesh one for mine, currently using a Spigen.
just bought one of these myself. got the android green one with the iCarez 9H Tempered Glass screen protector. Hope it fits with the case, guess we'll find out!
thanks for the find!
- Off Topic- i just realise
Just bought this real leather flip cove caser on Amazon.de (Germany) for 6,99 euro`s. Link http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00IXEKEW4/ref=pe_386171_38075861_TE_item_image.

Tablets have been utilizing the tech for awhile now, I think it'll be okay unless you have a floppy disk reader or platter-based hard disk in there!
just got the case today. fits really well. the only thing i dont like is the sides seem a little sharp. im sure that will wear down in time. also i recommend the iCarez 9H Tempered Glass screen protector for this phone.
just ordered this. same color as OP. yay for free shipping
I have the case, its nice and good protection also very well priced. But for me this case adds way too much bulk onto the phone, I've made the brave choice to be caseless

I'm a paramedic who is looking for a case for the Verizon note 4. Im looking for a case thats thinner but provides the same protection as the otterbox defender (if thats possible?). I need a case that provides great protection as my phone gets dropped sometimes and also gets dirty during patient care.
Thank you!!
First, get out your credit card and buy a UAG case, and while you are waiting for it to arrive, browse this forum and soak up some knowledge. The hard question is whether or not to get a screen protector given your situation.

Do you want a flip cover?
I have this one on the way. I don't know if it is thinner than a defender, or how well the fit will be.

Otterbox Commuter.
Otterbox or Urban Armor Gear.
I went with the UAG.
I do not have a job like the OP but I do need good protection. I am leaning towards the UAG because of the military grade drop protection but...it has no holster...which I would use to protect that huge beautiful screen. I have ALWAYS had my former phone screen covered with a flip but frankly I've tired of them. But I'm so paranoid of going with nothing over the screen. Are glass protectors really that great (at protection as far as cracked screens)? I'm extremely squeamish about my new phone. I am a careful person but, accidents happen. I also like the Verus Thor but then I read where someone dropped their phone on the corner while wearing one and it cracked. Blah. Seidio CAPSA seems good but I'm getting tired of waiting for their release. So....cases with nothing (or just a glass screen protector) over the screen....opinions?

did you get a screen protector for it while using the commuter?
I recently acquired a Poetic Affinity case to review and to going to give my honest opinions compared to Spigen Rugged Armor case.
This case is a hybrid of TPU and polycarbonate, which gives the case stability as well increased grip/flexibility. The extra TPU along the corners and edges of the case help give the phone shock absorption as well as keeps the phone stable while texting on a table.

Before receiving this case I had the impression that the case would be obtrusive and giving added bulk to a slim phone. The case is actually very low profile, and very easy to handle or pull out of your pocket. One issue I have had in the past with cases are their fitment with a tempered glass screen protector, but paired with Intelliglass hd it fits perfectly!
One big improvement this case has compared to the Spigen case are the tactile feel of the volume and power buttons. They are very responsive and can easily differentiate between the volume buttons and power button. All of the cutouts fit precisely (including camera and laser autofocus) and there is no interference with headphone jack or USB type C cable. The fingerprint scanner is easily accessible as well, which was a concern of mine by adding a case.
The only complaint that I have with this case is the location of the branding. The P is right in the middle on the back of the case which is right over the Nexus logo. This is not a big concern for me, but its a minor one.
Overall this case has added a tremendous amount of grip without adding to the overall bulk of the phone. I have not had any drops while using this case so I cannot comment on the protection, but it seems it would protect against minor to moderate falls. I can honestly recommend this case to anyone looking to increase the grip without adding much bulk to the phone.
I got this case also. I kind of like it more than my spigen a little

I feel the same way. Ever since I received this case I haven't felt the urge to switch back to the Spigen.

+1 to this.
I also bought the Spigen first but wanted a more transparent case that wasn't black since I did order the Crystal White for a reason.
It's very nice. I've had quite a few co-workers buy it once they saw mine. All in all worth the money.
